Nico was officially moving out of the Hades cabin. He sat in front of the altar reluctant to actually leave. "I don't know o be a son of Apollo. Some other demigods are making assumptions and I try not to care. I'm not ready to be a Solace yet."
Dry leaves scratched across the floor boards. They had blown in through the open door. "What's going to happen if I leave? You told me you wouldn't have any more kids."
In an instant he was furious. "I hate you." He picked up the cypress branch draped over the side and broke it in two, hurling it across the cabin. "I hate you! Why couldn't you have tried when I was out there by myself? I wanted you to be my dad but I had to ask someone else. Why didn't you care? Why didn't you even try?"
He kicked the altar. "You and your dead kids. Go ahead and keep them since they mean so much to you." He slammed the door as he left but it just bounced off the frame and swung back open as if inviting him I'm to return.
He was still angry when he got to the Apollo cabin. Will glared at him and pointed to the other seat at his desk. Nico kicked over the chair instead. "How could you make a decision like that without talking to me first? Did you even think about how I would feel?"
He sat down on his bed and smoothed the wrinkles from the top blanket. "I wanted a family, Will."
He spent an hour in the Hades cabin before going home for the evening.
