03: Too Busy Sinning
The crowd roared the lights all focus on the arena. Naruto stood at one end, and against stood a giant of a man.
'Stupid Silco,' he thought as he wasn't allowed to go on the mission topside with Jinx and the others but instead he had to be in the fight pits at the Old mans personal request.
"In one corner we have a rare newcomer, a Noxian battle master and I'll tell you this folks he's a real killer." The ring announcer called out through the speakers. "Urgot the Dreadnought!"
Across from Naruto stood a mountain of a man standing over 6'5 he was a rotund man but looked hench.
"AND! Representing the Lane's, we have one of our very own…"
Naruto rolled his head feeling his neck popping as he stretched and began bouncing up and down on the spot.
"NINEZ!"
The home crowd roared some booed, some cheered.
The spotlight shined down on the blonde, his hair longer reaching the nape of his neck shaggy and wild with only a pair of tinted goggles keeping his hair out of his face. He was currently shirtless and covered in several tattoos.
On his navel was some kind of pattern he swore came to him an in dream the 'Shiki Fujin' And going up his left arm was several patterns merging into one large tattoo creating some kind of design circling round a patch of untouched skin.
His back was covered in sharpened chain tattoos that covered over his scarred back from his time in the circus.
He was currently dressed in simple black bottoms with his boots on.
Naruto stepped forward marching toward the taller man, with hands in his pockets the blonde was 20 years of age and was roughly 6'2 and still had to look up to the 7 ft beast of a man.
The taller man chuckled as he tensed a bicep flexing his power.
Naruto raised one hand and waved over to the Baron's box even though it was tinted he knew all the barons including Silco were in their observing the coming bout.
The crowd went silent as it appeared Naruto was ignoring his opponent as the ring announcer hollered from his own box.
"What?"
"What's odds on me?"
Before the announcer could respond. "Can we hurry this up? I've got money to win!" An audience member shouted.
Naruto turned to the crowd as his ears recognised the voice in the crowd. "Tim?! Tim is that you? Welp I 'll be seeing you after I get done here." The blonde threatened as he spun back to face the brute before him. "You just wait your turn I'll kick the stuffing out you in a minute."
The blonde took a couple paces back while still bouncing on his toes. "Oi Pops I hope you didn't bet on this lasting longer than a round."
Urgot growled at the insults and moved first his massive arms whipping forward looking to grapple with the smaller punk. "I am a child of Noxus punk we're raised for war not just playing gangster in diapers."
Naruto wasn't as unprepared as the Noxian thought as he slipped through the older man's grasp. "Ha diapers, Noxus or not there ain't none tougher the stock raised right here in Zaun… you best believe it bitch." Naruto insulted as he danced around the larger man only the leap up and smash to knee twice over into the back of the man's head sending him stumbling forward.
Urgot managed to recover but as he turned the blonde was in his face. All the Noxian had time to do was widen his eyes further as he met a third knee strike that shattered the cartilage in his nose.
"Gah!" Urgot choked out as he stumbled backwards. 'How does he hit so hard?!' he thought as his busted nose ached. "You made me taste my own blood… I am a warrior you are nothing but a street punk." He shouted as warrior's bloodlust took over as the giant mortal charged.
Naruto looked bored even placing his hands back in his pockets as the Noxian stormed towards him. Naruto glanced toward the Baron's booth before looking towards the timer. 'Two more minutes.' He idly thought before swerving to the left avoiding a wild swing but immediately on the counter Naruto left leg stuck out striking the big man's kneecap.
The giant roared in pain but before he could try and recover Naruto steel cap boots smashed up into his chin clicking his jaw closed.
There was a spray of blood before Naruto's boot came back down in an axe kick that cratered the bigger man's shoulder.
Urgot crumpled to a knee from the force of the axe kick. Grunting in pain his left hand tried to grab at the shorter brat, but the blonde didn't stop moving as he kicked off the ground into a 540-tornado kick smashing into back of the Noxians thick skull kicking him headfirst into the mat.
The crowd went silent. A collective thought went through the audience. 'H-He didn't use his hands at all.'
The announcer started the 10 counts with some of the crowd joining in.
"Stay down!" some chanted.
"Get up you Noxian bastard." Others chanted.
Naruto simply walked over to his starting corner span around crouch waiting to see if he would need to continue.
"Eight! Oh, look he is stirring and getting up! This fight is not over yet!"
Urgot managed to push himself up to one knee, but Naruto was already moving leaping over Urgot but just as he passed by his head Naruto lashed out with a house call to the temple.
The force of the blow echoed throughout the arena with sickening crack Urgot just slumped over, eyes rolled back as he bled from his wounds.
The announcer didn't even bother start the count as the crowd broke into cheers and boos.
"Winner by KO! Ninez of the Lane!"
Someone from the crowd lobbed an empty glass at the blonde to which ducked out the way. "Ha! You missed dickhead!" Naruto shouted as he put his middle finger up and swore in the general direction of the thrown object.
In the Barons box Silco sat there with a smirk on his face as he watched the three barons who bet against his 'son' frown as they left their payments on the table before storming off, leaving Margot and Silco.
"You didn't bet against Naruto, why?" Silco asked. As his eyes never left the arena below.
Margot stood up and made her way toward the door. "Unlike my fellow Baron's I remember what happen four years ago those two near purge Laughing Coffin to extinction. I am no fool." With her peace said she left.
"No, you are not." Silco snorted before one of his lieutenants entered with a stress look on his face.
"What is it?"
"Sevika and the others returned boss."
"And?"
"Sevika's on a war path."
'Gah dammit.' Silco thought. "Ok go grab Naruto and head over toward the Last Drop."
"Look I've all I need to say she's a problem and you know it." Sevika said her piece before storming out of the office.
Silco sat at the desk after just lighting a cigar before a loud thudded on the roof top. An energy pulse was felt through the building as the lights flickered on and off followed by the sound of footsteps on the roof appeared. The noise caused the man to open one of the large window panels behind him.
"While we wait for him, why don't you tell me what happened?"
"You heard it already," Jinx whined as she lay up in the rafters. 'You messed Jinx, such a jinx… Jinx' "No I didn't," she whispered to the voice. The girl fell from the rafters landing on the desk and sat crossed legged "The Firelight girl… she had pink hair like hers."
Silco's eyes widened slightly as he recognised the tone, the longing in the girl's voice. "Your sister is gone… you know this, but you know I will never betray you."
"I know, I know." Jinx dismissed as only a teenager could.
The lights flickered off and Jinx saw a dark green eye and a fanged grin that brought a giggle to her lips before the lights flickered back on revealing her usual partner.
The window pushed inwards as pair off feet touched floor before the rest of his body slipped in. Still topless from his bout in the arena Naruto stood not having time to shower or change.
"Jinx?" Naruto called as he looked at her with concern, approaching carefully.
Jinx flushed as she blinked and instead of across the room she was eye level with the blonde chest as he placed a hand on her forehead.
"You're not sick are you?" he asked.
'Close, too close.' Jinx thought as she snapped out her daze and hopped backwards slightly. "It's all good Foxy got lost in land of monkeys and rainbows."
Silco chuckled at the pair. 'Jinx's crush is quite obvious, but I wonder when will boy realise it.'
"I heard the Firelights showed up…"
"Nothing I couldn't handle."
"Then why did big sis ignore bar brawl and storm outside?"
"She didn't join in?" Silco asked out of minor interest.
"Nope just sat their smoking I even saw some guy almost trip into her lap when he got thrown outside."
"Some guy?" 'This maybe interesting.' "Well in the meantime Jinx take some time."
"Time? I don't need time, I'm fine." Jinx huffed, "I don't need to be benched."
"You're not being benched think of it as a holiday, you and Naruto have earned it." Silco said as he slapped around half of his personal winnings from the blonde's fight into the Naruto's hands. "Your earnings."
Both young adults widened at the words holiday even though deep down Jinx could feel the whispers begging to creep up once again, but something held them at bay. Feeling something bump her shoulder she looked up toward Naruto who snuck up next to her and lightly bumped her again and waited for her to bounce back.
'Why are they never as loud with you around' she thought before her face matched the blonde's smirk.
"Paintball and pancakes?" he asked.
Jinx's eyes widened before she grinned up at him.
"Naruto head downstairs and let Sevika know that you two will be away for a while…" Silco spoke up.
The blonde rolled his eyes before nodding and heading down to bar. 'Like I don't know you need Jinx to stab you in the eye.' The blonde thought as he left the room.
Around five minutes had passed before the blonde entered back into the main office.
Jinx turned with a grin on her face "Let's go home?" she said coolly.
Naruto just nodded before, and the pair left through the same window the blonde entered through disappearing into the depths of the undercity.
Far away from Zaun, in Stillwater Prison, a facility known for its high Zaunite population, a pink-haired woman covered in tattoos from her arms up to her neck sat at her table. The 22-year-old woman eyed someone she hadn't seen in years with intense focus.
Quickly finishing her meal, she anticipated the consequences of her impending actions. She knew she likely wouldn't eat for the next week after this stunt, but the opportunity was too good to pass up.
Rising from her seat, tray in hand, she approached the latest inmate from the Lanes. The man looked up from his own meal, his eyes widening in fear as he recognized her.
"Did ya miss me?" she asked, her voice dripping with sarcasm. Before he could respond, she brought her tray down hard, smashing it against his head. The blow sent him clattering to the floor, crying out in pain - a wound from Jinx's earlier attack flaring up.
Not giving him a chance to recover, the pink-haired woman pounced. She brought the tray down again and again, each strike punctuated by the metallic clang echoing through the mess hall. The other inmates watched in a mixture of shock and morbid fascination as she unleashed her fury.
Guards rushed to intervene, but the damage was done. The man lay bloodied and unconscious on the floor, while the pink-haired woman stood over him, her chest heaving and her eyes wild with a mix of satisfaction and barely contained rage.
As the guards restrained her, a small smirk played on her lips. Whatever punishment awaited her, she knew it was worth it. She had sent a message - to him, to the Lanes, and to anyone else who got Vander killed and worked for Silco.
Back down in Zaun hidden away in their workshop / home Naruto and Jinx stood on either side of the work bench. The bluenettes leapt over a table as the blonde opened fire with his revolver.
Orange and blue pellets splattered over the table and hit the wall behind the girl.
Jinx rolled out of the way blind firing as she left cover.
Naruto's eye's widened as he ducked and dove behind more cover. "Oi I thought we said no head shots?!"
"Aww foxy doesn't remember the rules…" Jinx laughed as she reached her target.
Naruto's ears twitched at a familiar whirling sound. "You wouldn't…" as he stuck his head out from cover only to duck once more.
"Oh, I would." Jinx said as she fired her minigun unloading paint pellets at a rapid pace.
Naruto shifted into his fox form forgetting any plans of offense and went on the evasive.
Two hours later—
Naruto was currently in his fox form laying down on his side while Jinx leant backwards against his furry torso as she fiddled with a custom monkey bomb.
The two sat in a comfortable embrace as neither spoke for a while as Jinx focused on her gadget. Both were covered in splatters of paint from their paintball royale 1v1.
Naruto's snout turned slightly as he heard Jinx muttering to herself. "Hmm?"
"I'm not useless," he heard her whisper.
Frowning at his partner one of his nine tails lift and snaked around the girl and before she realised and snatched the explosive from her hands and another snaked around her waist to restrain her slightly as he tossed the ticking grenade off the propeller they laid on.
"Enough of that thinking… Jinx you are brilliant with a penchant for destruction," Naruto said before the grenade detonated causing flames to fill the cavern that hovered above. "You are you and that is all that is needed."
Jinx said nothing and just allowed herself to sink into the blonde's soft orange fur for a few moments before the girls nails pinched Naruto's side getting him to release her from his tailed grasp.
"As the winner of the paint royale, I want my victory prize…" Jinx whispered.
Naruto rolled his eyes. "What now? I just got comfy." He whined before his form shifted to his humanoid form, which shifted their positioning, so Jinx as sat in-between the blonde's legs with his arms wrapped around her waist as his chin rested on her shoulder.
Jinx stiffened up against the embrace as her cheeks flushed red against her pale skin as the blonde's breath tickled her earlobe and the back of her neck.
"I'll go make the pancakes you just rest up ok." Naruto whispered before loosened his hold on her and was about to move before he felt a smaller hand take hold of his wrist.
The blonde looked down to meet powder blue eyes. "You will never leave me right?"
"Runeterra would need to shatter before I left your side." Naruto responded instantly without hesitation. 'You saved me all those years ago.' He thought idly.
"Don't go. The voices aren't as loud with you here." Jinx requested as she tugged on his wrist.
Naruto gaze softened as he sunk back against the wall at let his partner get comfy against his body.
To Jinx Naruto was her last light that kept the voices at bay, the only person or fox that would never doubt her or think she's broken beyond repair.
The pair stayed that way until darkness claimed them both.
Naruto awoke to a sea of blue, his face nestled in Jinx's soft hair. As consciousness crept in, he realised they had fallen asleep spooning. Carefully, he began to extricate himself, but froze when Jinx stirred. Her hand reached back, inadvertently brushing against his lower region. The blonde's face flushed crimson as she sleepily tried to push away what she must have thought was an invasion.
With the stealth honed from years in Zaun's underbelly, Naruto slipped out of their embrace without waking her. His stomach growled, reminding him of his promise to make pancakes. He padded to the kitchen, a sanctuary of cleanliness amidst the grime of the Lanes.
As he lit the stove and placed a pan over the flames, his mind wandered. The voices, ever-present spectres of his past, began their assault.
'You're deluding yourself,' one hissed. 'She's human. You're nothing but a pet to her and Silco.'
'A vile beast,' another chimed in. 'A circus freak. Who could ever love you?'
"Piss off," Naruto snarled, his knuckles white as he gripped the spatula.
'Look at you,' the voices persisted. 'Barely sane, nearly as broken as her.'
"Jinx isn't broken," he growled, his voice low and dangerous.
'Are you so sure about that?'
"I'd bet my entire being on it," Naruto snapped, glaring at the shadows as if they might manifest his tormentors.
'It would be funny if it weren't so pathetic. A Vastaya in love with a human.'
Naruto's jaw clenched as he focused on the sizzling batter, trying to drown out the cacophony in his head.
'Where's your pride?' the voice taunted. 'Beaten, stolen from your mother's arms, and still you yearn to serve these humans.'
Static electricity began to crackle over Naruto's skin, his patience wearing thin.
'Still nothing but a simple slave...'
The metallic countertop groaned, warping under the pressure of Naruto's growing electromagnetic field.
"SHUT UP!" he roared. With a violent gesture, he tore the counter from its moorings and hurled it across the room. It crashed against the far wall, the sound echoing through their hideout.
In the sudden silence, broken only by the hiss of the gas stove, Naruto stood panting. The voices retreated to the recesses of his mind, leaving him with a final, melancholy thought: 'I don't even remember what my own mother looks like.'
His mind drifted back to his earlier conversation with Sevika.
"Boss man want's Jinx and I to take a holiday." Naruto said as he found the woman outside smoking.
Sevika said nothing, in response still glaring into the Undercity before her.
"Ite whatever," Naruto said before turning on his heel.
Before the fox tailed blonde made it two steps.
"That girl is going to get you killed."
That got the blonde to halt his movements "And what a death it will be." He responded with a forlorn grin on his face.
"You looking for death?"
"Me nah, but when death comes for either one of us… then death needs to be able to fight for these meals." Naruto responded with a bravado that came with youth.
Sevika sighed as Naruto turned again.
"If you love her you should tell her, the Lane's isn't so forgiving with missed opportunities."
"People like us..." Naruto began as he pointed between the two of them. "Don't deserve some Piltie golden picket fence, we're too busy sinning…" the blonde said before making his way back inside leaving Sevika alone with her thoughts.
"Ain't that the truth." Sevika muttered before taking another drag from her roll up.
With a heavy sigh, Naruto turned back to the stove. He flipped a perfectly golden pancake, a small act of normalcy in the chaos of his existence. As he stacked the fluffy discs on a plate, he resolved to push aside his demons, at least for now. Jinx would be waking soon, and he was determined to greet her with a smile and a warm snack.
Entering the main room of their hideout, Naruto's eyes scanned the area where he had left Jinx, only to find an empty space. A frown creased his brow as he placed the stack of freshly made pancakes on the workbench. "Jinx?" he called out, his voice echoing through the ventilation shafts, met only by hollow silence.
His gaze returned to the twin plates of pancakes, steam still rising from the fluffy discs in his tail's grasp was some juice and syrup they stole from topside a while ago. When a folded piece of paper caught his attention. It seemed out of place among the scattered tools and half-finished projects. With a growing sense of unease, he unfolded the note, his eyes quickly scanning the familiar scrawl.
"Gone for a walk, be back before you know it. I'm just gonna show them all I'm not broken..." Naruto read aloud, his voice trailing off as he noticed the cartoonish toy monkey drawn as a signature – Jinx's personal touch. 'Wait, she never goes on walks,' the realization hit him like a bolt of lightning.
"Goddamnit," Naruto growled, his muscles tensing as he sprinted towards the exit. The sound of his boots echoed off the metal walls of their hideout. Suddenly, he skidded to a stop, pivoting on his heel. 'Can't go in unprepared,' he thought, chiding himself for nearly making such a rookie mistake.
Returning to the workbench, Naruto snatched a few pancakes from the stack, wolfing them down in quick, efficient bites. As he chewed, he began loading up for a trip topside – grabbing his custom revolver, a few of Jinx's grenades, and slipping on his reinforced jacket.
'If those Piltie pricks get in my way...' he thought, checking his ammunition. "Sorry, Pops, but bodies will be hitting the floor," he muttered, his voice low and dangerous. The playful demeanour from earlier was gone, replaced by a cold determination that made his green eyes glint like polished steel.
With one last glance at Jinx's note, Naruto headed out, his mind racing with possibilities. The undercity of Zaun stretched before him, a labyrinth of metal and steam, but he moved with purpose. He knew Jinx better than most, and he had a good idea where she might be headed.
As he emerged from their hideout, the acrid air of Zaun hit his nostrils. Naruto's eyes narrowed, scanning the twisted skyline of the undercity. Somewhere up there, Jinx was on a mission to prove herself. And come hell or enforcer, he was going to be there to watch her back – just like always.
The End
A.N.
Chapter 3 complete.
NOW then opening with a fight scene figured that Fight pit Emo Vi was in if you want an idea of the opening scene and Urgot is still in his military and hasn't been buried yet…. Also not a cyborg just yet.
It was fun just writing Naruto and Jinx moments.
Sevika and Silco are cool to write in small doses
And if the timeline wasn't clear we at s1 ep 4
Q + A Time!
nick17522 – All good, there maybe some other characters sneaking into Arcane….
Archer headass — Yup on the Magnetism and trust me there is a reason for that power. Also, really cool idea about the hilt not what I was going for but the idea has potential.
AtlasKP— That's exactly his fighting style…
vikinglord08— It is a single pairing, but Naruto and Jinx are not in a relationship with each other, yet which means they are both fair game to outside influences.
Spacecore94— There will be romance and heart break for nearly all.
Next chapter we going to Piltover and a certain someone will be gaining their freedom thanks to a certain Sweet treat.
Also, if it wasn't obvious from the last chapter Naruto's fox form can change size from a small fox to a lion sized wolf.
The voices have begun their shit talking for both Naruto and Jinx… Different traumas but similar results.
Anyways thanks for reading.
Stay Chilling Y'all
