Hi there guys, hope you are doing well! Here is Chapter 21, and we are right before the Extermination. I'm also thinking taking on a second story, based on Harry Potter. If anyone is interested, I'd glady start it, it's bound to happen sooner or later anyways. If I do thesetwo stories simultanously, then expect the a mixed upload schedule, but who know, I might not even give a crap about consistency and just post whaterever I want. Hope you enjoy this chapter thought!

The day before the Extermination
The day before the Extermination was truly a unique experience. Where many thought this would be a somber event, it turned out to be quite the opposite. Sinners were laughing, cracking jokes, dancing and drinking, like there is no tomorrow. And maybe some of them won't live past tomorrow, but they did not let that hinder their spirits.
Amidst the chaos, a few familiar faces were also partying. One of these was Sir Pentious, who was currently at the bar drinking. He was one of the few that was worried about tomorrow, as he thought that there was still a purpose for him down here.
"Why the long face, fangs?" somebody asked while they settled down next to him. As he looked up from his glass, he realized that it was non other than the mad explosion lover Cherri Bomb. As she sat down, a mug of beer slid down the counter, which she caught with no problem. "Wanna talk today or wait till after tomorrow?" she asked with a cocky smile.
Pentious was about to start to speak, but closed his mouth again, not sure about what to say. What exactly was there to talk about? "I don't know. Perhapsss I'm jussst sssscared about tomorrow. What if I don't make it?" Pentious said, clearly worried After all, it was not every day you walked into certain death.
"Wy are you worried? I mean, we had like countless turf wars, you should be used to violence and danger." Cherri said nonchalantly, while taking a sip.
Pentious looked up and at Cherri again. She was wearing her regular outfit, red top over one shoulder, ripped leggings and tight skirt, which could fool one into thinking that she won't be able to move much. When looking at her hips, he noticed that she was not only sporting her regular bombs, but also some new types of bombs, which seemed to shimmer under the light in the hotel.
"Like what you see? You know I ain't come cheap if you want to fuck me, right?" Cherri said when she noticed Pentious looking her over. "No it'sss not like that. I just noticed that you have made some new bombs, and I was interesssted in what they are for" Pentious of course would never admit to Cherri that he was actually checking her out.
"Oh these little buggers" she swayed her hips, making the bombs dangle on the belt. "Blessed bombs, thanks to Carmine Industries. These bad boys are able to blow any Angel to shreds, and if not those, then I'll find a bunny to blow up!" Cherri laughed at her joke, which flew right over Sir Pentious head. "Anyways, here's to a focking great battle tomorrow!" she exclaimed, getting cheers from everyone at Husks bar.
Emily was currently not at the party. While Charlie made her feel welcomed, she still felt a little bit out of place in hell, which given the circumstances, was a valid feeling. She was in her now own room, at the balcony, looking down on the people partying outside of the hotel. She was scared about tomorrow, but was not sure if it was for the residents, or if she was scared for her own wellbeing.
"Ya mind if I join you?" asked somebody from behind Emily. When she turned around, she saw Velvette standing at the door of the room. She was wearing a pair of striped pajama pants with a white tank top. Velvette walked up and sat down next to Emily, gazing over the crowd of sinners ready for the Extermination tomorrow.
This broke Emily's heart. As the Angel of Joy, she was always responsible for making sure that everyone was happy. Sure, there were certain times that Angels had a frown upon them, or felt a little sad, but she never has seen depression on such a scale from a singular person. Even though she lost her title, she will still follow the goal of making the people around her happy. And she would start by helping Velvette.
"Don't worry about me, Charlie explicitly forbade me from fighting. What about you? You don't seem very comfortable about fighting yourself." Emily said, a small amount of cheer laced into her words.
Velvette just scowled. "Yeah and get myself killed by a no name Exterminator. That ain't happenin', sunshine." She said, clearly indicating that she wanted silence. But Emily was not giving up that easily.
"Come on it can't be that bad! I mean, you surely have some awesome powers you can use to help" Emily suggested, which made Velvette cringe at first, before her scowl turned into a visage of fury. "Now listen here, little Miss Perfect! First off, I'm not obliged to help other just cause I've got powers they don't have. If ya haven't realized it, we're in hell, so almost everything has a price attached to it, and I'm not too keen on paying the price. Second, why can't you just stop proddin' me, as I clearly don't want to talk about anything right now! It's not like I need to know why the other Fuckers up above decided to pluck your wings and throw you out!" With those last words, Velvette was all in Emily's face.
Velvette's fury cooled off, and was soon replaced with concern when she looked into Emily's wide eyes. Emily's breath quickened, as pictures of Lute ripping out her wings flashed in her mind. While Alastor was able to stop the bleeding and close the wounds, the scars still hurt a bit, and she was not sure if the pain would ever really go away. By now she was hyperventilating, as she felt as if she was back in the cell in heaven awaiting her execution.
When Velvette saw Emily panicking, she tried to grip her shoulder, but Emily shook the hand off before quickly backing away. Emily looked to where Velvette was standing, but instead of Vel she saw Sera standing in front of her, fury etched into her face. "Why couldn't you just follow my advice!" The apparition boomed out. "I told you that that if you try to intervene in these affairs, you'd end up just like Lucifer! You are just a rotten branch of our family just as the traitors thar rebelled back during the creation of hell! SOMEONE LIKE YOU IS NOT WORTHY OF BEING MY SISTER!"
Emily fell to her knees, tears welling up in her eyes. It broke Emily's heart that Sera thought of her that way. A rotten branch. A traitor to their perfect world up above. Emily sobbed, unable to think straight. That was until she felt a pair of hands on her shoulders. She looked up and expected to see Sera's stern, cold blue eyes. Instead, she looked into a pair of crimson eyes, which at one point seemed to hold passion, but now have dulled a bit. These eyes were filled with some semblance of worry, albeit she could not tell if this worry was genuine or not.
The moment Emily fell to her knees, Velvette rushed over and see if Emily was alright. She didn't think that the angel was affected that deeply by her fall from heaven, but it seemed that she has some pent up trauma from this event. She grabbed Emily by the shoulders, and when she looked up, she was met with a pair of bright blue eyes, drowned in horror, as if she had almost died. Velvette wanted to recoil since she knew this look very well; after all, she sported the exact same look when she died in that car crash.
"Emily…. EMILY!" Velvette shook Emily out of her stupor, this time holding on to her, just in case she slipped into another trance. Emily just kept on staring into Velvette's eyes, still trying to process what had just happened to her. In an instant, Emily suddenly held onto Velvette, as if her life depended on it. Velvette was shocked by this sudden turn and was about to try to break free from Emily's hug but then decided not to. It actually felt quite nice, but she didn't know why. For a moment she thought about giving a hug back, but then decided against it, as she didn't want to scare Emily again.
After a few minutes, Emily finally calmed down enough to be able to speak again. "I'm sooo sorry, I don't know what happened back there. At one moment, I wanted to help you in the next-" Velvette interrupted "Don't sweat it, just don't go havin an episode on me again. And by the way could ya release me now?" She put up an annoyed tone, even though she did not really mean any of it.
Emily eeped and jumped a few feet back, not intending to make the former Overlord uncomfortable and pissy again. Now after that whole episode, the silence that filled the room was extremely awkward. And if Velvette hated one thing more than annoying people, then it had to be awkward moments.
So, without a second thought, she took Emily's hand and dragged her out of her room. "Where are we- WHOAH!" was all that Emily was able to say before being yanked through the corridors of the hotel, right to door of Velvette's room. Without a word, Vel dragged the former Seraphim into the room, where a now familiar mannequin was standing right in the middle of the room.
"Back when I started to design this dress, you were unconscious. I had to get through a lot bloody trouble to make that dress." She unveiled the mannequin, and lo and behold, it was the same red dress that Emily saw during her unannounced visit back when she healed Velvette, this time thought with a few modifications.
The vine-like design was still present, but the color was now changed to a darker red, with the heart now sporting a black see-through fabric, but not too opaque. The dress was now shorter too, with it only going to Emily's shins. A pair of dark grey socks covered the rest of the feet, embroidered with the same vine-like design as the one on the dress. A pair of black ballet shoes were on the feet now too, greatly improving the outfit as a whole. The sleeves on the arms also changed to the same color as the socks, which also sported the same design as the them.
Emily could only stare in amazement, while Velvette just smiled self-confidently, leaning against her tailoring table. "This looks amazing! The colors work perfectly together, and I adore this vine design!" Emily squeaked, as she jumped around the mannequin, taking in the dress from all angels.
It was then that Velvette got an idea. She tried to focus what remaining power she had, which worked surprisingly easy, and mimicked a swiping motion, just as if she would scroll through Sinstergram. Emily yelped, but rather of surprise than pain, as she was no longer in her borrowed clothes from Charlie, but instead in the dress that previously occupied the mannequin.
Velvette then snapped her fingers, as 3 mirrors floated around Emily, allowing her to see it from all angels on her body. "It… it looks beautiful!" Emily breathed as she checked the dress out in its entirety. "It better be, after all I designed it just for ya." Velvette proclaimed.
Emily looked at her shocked, not really knowing how to respond now. "Why?" was all she managed to get out. It was now Velvette's turn to blush slightly. "I-I just guessed that you'd need new clothes, since your olds are bloody thrashed, and now ya got new ones from the best designer in hell." She caught herself from more embarrassment.
Emily gave Velvette just an odd look, which she could not decipher. She then walked up to the fashionista and gave her a small hug. "Thank you, Velvette." That was all that Emily said, before leaving the room in a hurry. Velvette just stood at the tailoring table, stunned. Her heart was racing, and for the love of Asmodeus, she could not figure out what made her feel that way. In a daze, she walked over to her bed, before falling down on it, still trying to process what just happened.
Back out on the corridor, Emily hurried towards her room. She did not know what overtook her, but she felt like she would overheat. Why was her heart beating so fast? She did not know, but he needed to figure it out fast, because she can't keep on embarrassing herself like that anymore.
Just as she arrived at the door to her room, a voice behind her spoke up. "Emily, are you alright?" Emily turned around and saw that the voice belonged to Charlie. "Ye-yeah, I'm alright, d-don't worry, hehe!" Emily said, a little to quick. Charlie looked at her weirdly, before she noticed that Emily was wearing a new dress. "Where did you get that?" Charlie asked.
"Oh, that?" Emily did a small spin to show off the whole dress, "Velvette made it for me." She simply said, not really elaborating on it anymore. "I see. I guess you go to sleep now?" Charlie said, already knowing about the work Velvette put into that dress.
"Yes, I hope that no one gets hurt too badly tomorrow." Emily responded, worry clearly in her voice. Charlie just put her hands on Emily's shoulders, giving her a reassuring smile, before saying, "Don't worry, we'll all get through this, and once the Extermination is over, we can figure out how you can help around her, okay But just go to sleep now, you clearly need it."
Emily just nodded, gave a goodnight, and went into her room. When the door closed, Charlie looked around. So many were depending on her. A lone tear was rolling down her cheek, fearing the worst for the Rebellion. What if someone blamed her for loosing their loved ones? Charlie could not bear such a pressure, as more tears rolled down her cheeks. Charlie just could not allow herself to cry, so many people depended on her to stay strong.
It was then when a familiar pair of arms and wings embraced her from behind. "There, there hun." Vaggie said as she gently guided Charlie back to their own room. "Ohh Vaggie, I don't know what I should do anymore! I feel like I'm letting everyone down" Charlie cried even harder, embracing Vaggie like life depended on it.
"You're not letting anyone down, hun. Thanks to you, we have an actual chance to win this thing and stop the Extermination. It was you that inspired the Cannibals to take up arms and fight against the Exterminators. You convinced Carmilla to give us the necessary weapons to fight the angles and train me to fight them. And as much as still dislike her, you convinced one of the Vee's to give us some protection against the Angelic weapons." Vaggie listed, as Charlie slowly stopped her tears.
"And since you did so much for us, I think it's time that I repay you tonight, and let you forget if just for a moment about tomorrow" with these words, Vaggie pushed Charlie onto the bed, before joining her on the bed. It will definitely be a pleasurable night for both tonight.
