-You can't possibly mean that…- Rissa was tired of listening to this. Yes. She turned after that incident. Yes, she turned because of it. End of story.

-Yes, I do mean that, Steph, but that's not important right now! If Guy doesn't complete the transition, I'm dead!

-But you seem to be picking death over telling the person you idolise the truth.

-There has to be another way…

-Rissa, listen to me! There is no other way, okay? I'm not deciding this for you, little sister. You tell Dad, or you die. Simple as that.

-Simple?!

-Seems simple enough to me.

-Of course it does! You're human!

-And you're a super vamp with an attitude problem.

-Stop being so calm!

-Stop being so stubborn!

-I'm not telling him, Stephanie!

-You're not telling me what?

Damon stood in the doorway of his younger daughter's bedroom, leaning against the wall in his signature way:

-How about the three of us go downstairs, and we can discuss what's going on.- both girls followed their father back into the kitchen, where Guy was nervously fidgeting. Damon stopped in the middle of the room, turning to see his daughters:

-I need an explanation, and I need it now! First, Marissa shows up at the door in the middle of the night along with this wimp, who seems to have a never ending headache, both of them being really weird, then Stephanie comes home, and the two of you lock yourselves up in Rissa's room, and now I hear that there's something you're not telling me. What is going on?!- neither sister said anything. Steph knew whether to confess was her sister's choice. Rissa was just hoping Steph would say everything. She couldn't tell Damon. -I'm listening.

Rissa took a deep breath in. Then another one. Another one. She told herself to calm down. She just needs to get out of here. She had no emotions. She didn't care what Damon thought. She didn't care what anyone thought. After another deep breath, she finally spoke up:

-I'm a vampire.

-What?

-A vampire, Dad. You were one for 150 years, I thought you'd be more familiar with the concept.

-Okay. Okay that's… certainly not what I expected, but…

-Also, my humanity's off. The only reason I'm even here is because some guy you turned is threatening to kill me if Guy doesn't complete his transition, hence, the headache, and as a vampire-werewolf hybrid, he needs Mom's blood for that. You happy now? That what you wanted to hear?

-Listen, Kitten, I know it's hard at first, but turning it off is not the answer, it's…

-Of course! That's exactly why I didn't tell you right away. I knew you'd try to change everything. Your child turns into a vampire, and you're upset. If I'm not wrong, that is the textbook definition of "Giuseppe in a leather jacket".

Silence.

Damon turned around sharply and walked toward the liquor cabinet. He opened it, reached toward the back of it and pulled out a small bottle of something red:

-I got this after your mother turned human. Everyone needs human doppelgänger blood. I kept it here, so no one would hurt her, ready to give it to whoever needed it. I just never thought that person would be you.- he threw the bottle, and she caught it with her vampire reflexes, handing it to Guy. He drank it, disgusted at first, but he looked like it made him feel better.

-That's all we needed.- Rissa said, grabbing a big hoodie and putting it on to shield herself from the sun. -Let's go, Guy.

The two of them left. Steph went to her room, knowing her dad needs some time alone.

Damon pulled a bottle of bourbon from the opened liquor cabinet and took a swig.
