Rissa missed hanging out with Vik. Yeah, she had called him yesterday and they talked when she was back home with… she'd rather not think of him right now, but they used to hang out every day. They went to school together, they went home together… Ever since she graduated, they haven't talked much, so having him around again was great.
The two of them were talking, laughing, when there was a knock on the door. Rissa opened it.
-Oh, no. Really hoped I'd never have to see you again!
-Rissa, I get it, you're upset, but this is important, I…- she closed the door. She wasn't gonna listen to him.
-Wasn't that your boyfriend?- Vik asked.
-Take a hint, dumbass, not anymore.
-Oh. You seem really mad at him. What did he do?
-Got me to kiss him, only to say I was too reckless and that he couldn't be with anyone like that.
Guy heard that. He didn't want to, but he heard that. Rissa was talking to someone, maybe a new boyfriend, while he needed someone, anyone, to help him. According to Lucas, he didn't have much time before Derek's vampires come for him, and he wouldn't be able to face them alone. So he did the last thing Lucas would've wanted him to do.
-You?
-Yes, sir.
-Why? Just why?
-I need help.
-And, millions of people in New York, you came to me?
Damon didn't get less scary now that Guy was a hybrid. He was just as scary. And just as shirtless.
-Yes, sir.
-Okay, listen up, Hybrid Boy…
-There's a gang of vampires that all want to kill me!
-This I gotta hear. What happened, kid?
-I killed their leader, Derek.
-That idiot?
-Yeah.
-He has a gang, okay, lame.
-Sir, with all due respect, Rissa won't listen to me and my life is in danger, so as fascinating as it is to listen to your comments on all of this, I really…
-You sound like the mailman I had as a kid.
-Thank you?
-I was insulting you, but sure, let's go with "thank you." Now, what do you want from me?
-I need you to talk to Rissa.
-Why can't you do that, aren't you her boyfriend or something?
-No.
-She dump you?
-No. She wasn't my girlfriend in the first place, sir. We lied to you, sir. I'm sorry, sir.
-You say 'sir' one more time, I'm gonna start having painful flashbacks about that mailman.
-Okay, si… Mr. Salvatore.
-So, you want me to talk to Rissa for you?
-Yes, Mr. Salvatore.
-And tell her a bunch of vamps are after you?
-Yes, Mr. Salvatore.
-Alright…- he took out his phone and pressed on the contact labeled "Kitten". Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.
-What is it?
-Hi, Kitten, I love you, too.
-Yeah, sure, that, what is it?
-Your little not-boyfriend came to tell me you're ignoring him.
-That's not…- Guy started, but Damon glared at him.
-What?! He's in Mystic Falls?!
-Yes, he's here.
-Why in the world would he go there?
-He says that a bunch of vampires are after him and he needs your help.
-Why are they after him?
-They wanna kill him.
-Let them.- she hung up. Damon looked at Guy and shrugged. Started to close the door.
-No, no, no, Mr, Salvatore, no, please, no, sir…
-Now you sound like the mailman when we finally fired him!
-Mr. Salvatore, please, I have a mother, if vampires murder me, she'll be left all alone!
-Listen, kid,- Damon opened the door. -Rissa's hurt. I don't know why. I don't know what you did. But if you want her to help you, you don't need me. You need to apologise. Even if it's her fault. Trust me on this one.
-Okay, sir. Thank you, sir.- Damon rolled his eyes.
The moment he was back in New York, he ran to Rissa's apartment. Steph opened:
-Hi.
-Hi, Stephanie, please, I need help, they're gonna kill me, okay, kill me! I'll apologise to Rissa, just please, help me!
-Calm down.- Steph chuckled.
-Sorry.
-Come in.
He came in.
-Rissa's in her room.- he went to Marissa's room, where he found her. That guy, Vik, was also there. He had an arm around her shoulders.
-What are you doing here?- Rissa asked, with less anger.
-I came to say sorry. Even if it was your fault.- she rolled her eyes, looking to much like Damon. Then she smirked:
-Alright. You need it so much, I'll help you with those vamps. But that doesn't make us friends. I'm only doing this because you saved my life. And didn't bite me. And I most certainly don't wanna owe anything to the likes of you.
