-Is he dead?- Poppy asked.

-Yep,- Strawberry smiled. Wendy sighed. Carter smirked. Jordan nudged other Jordan. Other Jordan almost fell. Hector opened his mouth, only to be slapped by Poppy.

Wendy stood up:

-We attack tomorrow.

-I don't think so,- Poppy sighed. -We should wait a little longer.

-Why?

-Just let him be sad about the death a little longer.

-What if he comes for Strawberry?

-He won't, he's a coward and a mama's boy.

-I get what you're saying, Poppy, but I can't wait any longer to kill him!

-I say we go, and we murder!

-Shut it, Hector!- both Wendy and Poppy snapped.

-Wendy, we have to wait a little longer.

-I don't care, I'm the leader, it's my decision!

It was silent.

-What did you say?- Poppy asked, her voice a mix of fury and confusion.

-That I was the leader. My soon-to-be husband was the leader, so his death makes me the leader.

-Well, I was second in charge, not to mention the first person he turned, so I'm the leader, Wendy!

-I don't care who the first person he turned was, he would've wanted it to be me!

-Then why didn't he make you second in charge?

Carter was watching everything that was happening with interest. Strawberry covered her mouth with her hand. Jordan fake-gasped. Other Jordan rolled his eyes.

-I'm the leader, Poppy.

-You can't just call it, Wendy, the leadership is mine.

-Poppy, I'm a grieving woman. Don't push me.

-Wendy, I'm over a century and a half old, so it's you who shouldn't push me.

The two were glaring at each other. The one to break the silence was Hector:

-Girl fight to the death!

Everyone looked at him, deadpan. It was clear now was not the time.

-No?- Hector sighed. -No girl fight? No? Okay.

-Oh, there will be a girl fight,- Poppy smirked evilly.

-What?!- seventeen voices asked simultaneously.

-You heard her,- Wendy said, with no enthusiasm.

-Girls, come on,- Strawberry said. -This is ridiculous!

-No, it's not, girl fight!- Hector stood up.

Poppy slapped him again, but that didn't stop his grinning and cheering.

-So,- Carter asked. -You're doing this? Really?

-Well, there was another way,- Poppy started, -Called "giving up." But Wendy wants to do it the hard way.

-Oh, I don't want this, Poppy. But you leave me no choice. I am the leader. I'll have to prove it. Even if it means killing you.

-Except you won't kill me,- Poppy took a step forward.

-We'll see,- Wendy did the same. The two of them were centimetres away from each other.

-Make out!- Hector yelled, but, for the first time in his life, realised this was not the time and didn't continue.

-Carter?- Poppy asked.

-Yes?

-Count down for us. You're the referee. Also, just to mention, third in charge after me. Still no Wendy…

-Enough!- Wendy said. -Carter, start counting.

-Alright,- Carter smirked. -Wendy and Poppy will now fight to the death to see who will become the next and second overall leader of Derek's vampire gang of twenty, soon nineteen, vampires. The fight will commence in three…

Both vampires got ready.

-Two…

They were eyeing each other, trying to figure out what the other will do.

-One! May the fight begin.

Carter sat back and watched them fight. Strawberry covered her face with her hands, but was clearly peeking. Jordan and Other Jordan were both horrified by this. Hector didn't even try to hide how much he enjoyed watching this. Fights, murder, girls… all in one.

Wendy, the quicker of the two, was first to shove Poppy against a wall, but the other vampire didn't take long to recover and punched her rival in the face.

Poppy needed this. She was always second in charge, and now was an opportunity for her to become the leader. Then, it would all be hers. They would get rid of the stupid kid who killed Derek, and then the whole gang would have to obey Poppy. That's what she's always wanted. Power. Over the gang, over the world, really. She wanted that even more than she wanted to but an end to Hector's endless questions, and she wanted that VERY much.

But those reasons seemed like nothing to Wendy. Who cares? Derek died. HER Derek. The Derek she dated for 100 years. The Derek who turned her so they could be together and she wouldn't die. But then… he died. And the last thing she had was this gang. So she would stop at nothing to become its leader. And nothing meant nothing.

The fight lasted pretty long. Both vampires were strong, and neither was ready to give up. There was blood everywhere. Wendy pinned Poppy to the floor. She punched through the tall vampire's chest. She could feel her heartbeat. All it would take would be one pull, and this would be over.

Hector, who had been watching with such enthusiasm, suddenly hated every moment of this. Only now did he realise "to the death" meant… to the death. And Poppy couldn't die. No. No, she couldn't. Poppy… she answered his questions. If Poppy dies… who'll answer his questions? Wendy sure wouldn't. No.

Without realising what he was doing, he pushed Wendy away from where Poppy was. It was sudden. Carter was so stunned, he didn't even say anything. Wendy was on the floor. Strawberry's eyes were bigger than… strawberries. Jordan watched silently. Other Jordan silently watched Jordan watch silently.

And only Poppy didn't stop. She took a few steps and ripped Wendy's heart out, throwing it on the floor next to the corpse.

-I guess this makes me the leader,- she said evilly.

And Hector, despite everything, was happy.
