"...King...!" Yugo's eyes twitched as he stared at his hero, who laid lifelessly on the ground.

Ushio quickly jumped into action, beginning heart comprehessions.

"Yuya, is he...?" Reira hugged Yuya's leg while staring on in disbelief.

"Look away, Reira." Yuya told the child through clenched teeth.

"H-Hey, Jack...you can't die here...we didn't even get a chance to..." Crow uttered as he knelt down to Jack.

After a few moments, Ushio removed his hands from the king's chest and looked dowm in shame.

"...J-Jack...!" Crow's eyes became filled with tears.

"This...can't be the end for you...!" Ushio grunted as he picked up the fallen king and then looked at the teens. "If he can somehow get medical attention nearby...maybe...just maybe...!"

"...We'll take care of things here, Ushio." Yugo lowly spoke while looking down and wiping away the tears.

"We're all counting on you." Ushio nodded before running as fast as he could.

"Roget...you...you...!" Yuya seethed in anger, clenching his fist.

"Aww, don't lose control, Yuya Sakaki! Don't forget what happened last time!" Roget cannivingly reminded.

"Grr..." Yuya clenched his teeth as he thought about watching Sergey fall to his death.

"Why...why are you doing all of this?!" Yugo shouted.

"I don't have to explain anything to you." Roget sneered, furthering Yugo's frustration.

"Yugo, Yuya, you have to stop him now!"

Suddenly, Reiji appeared on a holographic screen above the group courtesy of having access to the building's control room.

"Reiji?!" Yuya gasped.

"Akaba...!" Roget grunted.

"Once the Zero Reverse begins, the Tops Sector of Neo Domino City will be transported outside of Synchro Dimension to the realm outside of the four dimensions, meaning any dimensional travel will be impossible."

"What the hell?!" Yugo shouted in confusion.

"So if the machine activates...we'll be stuck here...so we'll never be able to go home...?!" Yuya uttered in horror while thinking of Yuko, Shuzo, Ayu, Futoshi, and Tasuya.

"That's correct, Yuya Sakaki." Roget cannivingly smiled.

"But what about the Commons?!" Yugo angrily questioned.

"Oh, that dumpster fire? Well, this machine is effectively puncturing a hole in reality much vaster than any dimensional transportation system has ever done, so the results will be catastrophic to not only the Commons, but most likely this entire dimension!" Roget shouted, causing Crow and Yugo to audibly gasp.

"M-My home...my people...!" Yugo uttered in a mixture of fury and fear.

"Amanda...Tanner...Frank...they're all in the Commons right now...!" Crow choaked on his words. Seeing this, Yuya brewed with anger.

"How dare you ruin so many lives to satisfy your own desires...?!" Yuya looked down and clenched his fist, doing his best to control his anger.

"I can only hold off the activation for 30 more minutes. You have to defeat him and destroy the machine before that happens." Reiji told his Lancers.

"...I'll do it. I'll defeat Roget." Yugo stepped forward

"Good. We're all counting on you." Reiji nodded before the screen dissapeared.

"The former king was no match for my genius and he was stronger than you. What makes you think you have a chance?" Roget questioned.

"Jack...he showed us exactly how your deck works...and I'll use that knowledge to pummel you into the dirt for what you've done!" Yugo grunted, wiping the tears from his eyes.

"...As will I." Yuya also stepped towards Roget, causing the man to raise a brow. "You used dueling to control and supress the people of this city. You're actions and schemes have hurt my friends. You even caused me to break my promise with Yuzu. I can't forgive you for any of that!"

Yuya's fist tightened as he angrily looked up at Roget and activated his duel disk.

"A two on one, eh? Fine by me. By the time this duel is over, the Zero Reverse will begin!"

Cut to the Standard, Xyz and Synchro counterparts together on a grassy hill, gazing at the starry night sky. Yuzu and Ruri rest their heads on Yuya and Yuto's shoulders respectively, who in turn drape an arm around them. Rin does the same with Yugo, who blushes redder than Yuya's hair. It is a touching scene….

You're Looking For!

… the screen falls to reveal the Fusion Counterparts falling into darkness. Yuri grins wickedly as his eyes are whited out by a violet glow. Behind him is the shadow of an older boy, face obscured with a monstruous, inhuman smile on his face. Above him, Serena holds out her hand, desperately trying to reach her former friend. The gem on her bracelet shines like a star, cutting through the miasma that surrounds them. Behind her is the golden spirit of an older girl, trying to reach out to the figure behind Yuri as tears flow. The older teens vanish as the Fusion Counterparts' silhouettes turn to black and a large, sinister pair of draconic eyes open wide behind them.

I'll Challenge All My Limits

Crow, Kiryu, the Black Rose Witch, and Jack race in a line on the highway and call forth their dragons; Black-Feather, Infernity Void, Black Rose, and Red Daemon's.

Knowing This Could Be My Only Chance Now

Yuzu and Serena stand together striking their signature Fusion Summon poses. From behind the two, Prodigy Mozart and Cat Dancer swirl into the fusion vortex and become Moonlight Serenade.

To Overcome This Fate That's Come Over Me

Ruri and Rin stand side by side with Assembly Nightingale and Winter Bell in front of them, looking ready for battle. But behind them are the looming shadow of their respective Fusion monsters; Independent Nightingale and Crystal Bell.

The Ending Of This Story

Yuto stands alone on a battle field with explosions occurring in the background. Yuto lets out a primal scream as Dark Rebellion Apocalypse Dragon roars, causing the field to erupt in flames.

I Will Hold It Close As I Wonder So Aimlessly

Yuya and Yugo closely race next to each other on the highway as Odd Eyes and Clear Wing clash in the sky. Yuya and Yugo scream in unison as their dragons evolve into Odd Eyes Wing and Crystal Clear Wing before continuing their arial battle. As the Accel Synchro monster begins to gain an advantage, Enlightenment Paladin descends from the sky while enveloped in a brilliant light. As Odd Eyes Wing is briefly knocked away, the evolved blue and gold paladin strikes Crystal Clear Wing's head with it's majestic blade, while Yuya and Yugo can't help but grin in excitement.

Into This New World

The scene changes to Yuya standing beneath a blue landscape. A pendulum swings above him, draw arcs of light across the sky. Yusho's face is shown over the center of the arcs, smiling down at his son with pride.

The Game Has Only Just Begun

Yuya reaches his hand out as the image of his father fades. He is shown to have a look of surprise on his face...

I Can See It In Your Eyes!

…which quickly turns into a triumphant smile!

(Instrumental)

The screen flashes to a beaten Crow standing across from a strange looking Jack Atlas, which clearly wasn't the real one, who had a variant of Red Daemon's on his field. The scene shifts to Yuto standing against Kiryu's Chaos Void Dragon with Vengeful Paladin on his field, who readied it's sword for battle. The scene changes to Yuzu and Rin struggling against the berserk Black Rose Witch who wore a cracked mask. Darkness Rose Death Dragon let out a violent screech as Prodigy Mozart and Winter Bell protectively flew in front of the two girls. The scene switches to Yuya and Yugo teaming up against the mastermind himself, Roget. A large machine-like titan which was shrouded in darkness towered over Odd Eyes and Clear Wing. At the two counterparts' command, the dragons charged forward before combining into Odd Eyes Wing Dragon while the titan lunged it's fist forward. As the two collided, a white flash engulfs the screen. The song ends with the Lancers on the highway (now including Crow, Ruri, Rin, and Sora) in the Synchro Dimension, looking up at the screen with the three Yu-boys in the center, with each of their eyes flashing a red, indigo, and cyan glow respectively.

"Yugo!" A voice called out from behind.

"Rin...?!" Yugo's eyes widened as he and Yuya turned around.

The Lancers ran into the room, led by Aki Izayoi and the members of Ushio's squad of officers, who were sent out by the man to assist the Lancers. Once he had figured out where Roget was, he had sent out a message to escort any found members of the Lancers to the labratory.

"So you truly have betrayed me, witch." Roget grunted at the sight of the red-haired woman.

"That's right. This has to stop, Roget! You control over the people of this city has to end!" Aki yelled with her hand on her chest.

"Yugo, kick his ass!" Rin shouted with a grin.

"We believe in you, Yuya, Yugo!" Yuzu supportively yelled.

"Rin!" Yugo joyously grinned.

"Yuzu...everyone...!" Yuya sighed in relief.

"Make this quick, you two!" Hokuto called out.

"End this!" Yaiba roared.

"Aww, how cute. You're whole cheering squad is here, but you're missing a few people. Your leader's trying to do everything in his power to slow down my machine's activation in the Control Room. And then there's the ninja, right? Wherever could he be?" Roget asked, confusing his opponents.

Yuya turned to his fellow teammates, who all gained looks of guilt, anger, and despair.

"...Sora...where's Tsukikage...?" Yuya asked with a look of horror on his face.

"...He...was carded..." Sora answered, lowering his head in shame.

"...What?" Reira uttered in disbelief as tears formed in the kids normally emotionless eyes.

"I'm so sorry, Reira." Yuzu hugged the younger Akaba sibling.

"No...no way...!" Yugo shook his head in disbelief while Yuya was too stunned to speak.

"What, did you honestly expect your little ragtag group of teenagers to be invincible? The majority of your team is so unbearably pathetic that you're lucky your only experiencing casualties now." Roget sneered.

"Don't mock us! We defeated all of your goons!" Sawatari yelled.

"Only because they're all from this backwater dimension. The majority of you would've been carded by now if-"

"That's enough." Yugo spoke in a kingly manner, as if he had some royal power over everyone present. "Once this duel is over, I'm going to make sure you end up in some dark, miserable cell in the underground prison you created."

"How amusing. Let's see if you can back up those words!" Roget shouted.

Yugo turned to Yuya, who was looking down and breathing heavily.

"Yuya...control yourself." Yugo told his counterpart in an uncharacteristically stern tone.

Without lifting his head, Yuya glanced up at Yugo, who became somewhat startled as he noticed the glowing red glint in his eyes.

"That murderer just ended the life of the former king in front of our eyes...and now Tsukikage is gone...how are you so calm...?" Yuya questioned.

"I...I just think back to when I was so filled with hatred and anger that I let the darkness inside of us easily control me...which led to me hurting both you and Yuto back when we first met..." Yugo solemly spoke.

"Yugo..." Yuya uttered, the red glow fading from his eyes as they softened.

"Man, that was a lifetime ago, right?" Yugo slightly chuckled before continuing. "If things had gone differently that night, one of us could've easily lost our life. That's why...I'm trying my best to keep myself in check. However..."

Yugo glared at Yuya with a furious look on his face, causing the boy to shudder.

"...I'm barely holding myself together right now. There's a fire burning inside of me, and all I want to do is set it free and light this psychopath on fire." Yugo spoke, holding his hand in front of his face and clenching it, as if he was squishing Roget in the palm of his hand. "He might be stronger than Jack, who I couldn't beat by myself. However, with our combined power, there's nothing we can't do, right?"

"...That's right." Yuya nodded, steeling his resolve. "Let's end this monster's reign together once and for all, King Yugo."

"Yeah, let's go!" Yugo shouted before the two turned to their opponent. "For the sake of Neo Domino City..."

"...we will defeat you, Roget!" Yuya roared.

"DUEL!"

ROGET: 4000 LP vs YUYA: 4000 LP / YUGO: 4000 LP

Just like in the duel with Jack, solid projections walls appeared behind Yuya and Yugo. Then, two devices shot out of his duel disk, which attached to their chests before they could react.

"Tch..." Yugo clicked his tongue as sweat formed on his face. "...I'm going first! While I have no monsters on my field, I can summon Speedroid Beigomax!"

The monster made up of red spinning tops appeared.

"From my hand, I summon the Tuner Monster, Speedroid Party Horn Kid!" Yugo shouted as the green haired child in white clothing carrying a party horn appeared.

"Party Horn Kid's effect! Since I control one other WIND Monster, I can add the top card of my deck to my hand! Now, I tune my Level 4 Speedroid Party Horn Kid to my Level 3 Speedroid Beigomax!"

The child turned into four green rings that flew around the spinning tops.

"Spread those wondrous and beautiful wings and strike down our enemies at light speed! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 7! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!"

The white and blue dragon with a large tail and green crystal wings appeared with a loud roar.

"I set a card facedown, turn end!" Yugo concluded.

"It's my turn now." Roget calmly stated before smirking. "From my hand, I summon Blaze Core!"

The red core appeared in front of the blond haired man.

"You'll pay for all the people who've been hurt by your actions! My turn, draw!" Yuya shouted as he determinedly drew. "Alright! With the Scale 1 Stargazer Magician, and the Scale 8 Entermate Classikuriboh, I set the Pendulum Scale!"

The magician clad in white appeared in the column in the sky alongside a new furry fiend.

"With this, I can simultaneously summon Monsters with Levels 2 through 7! Swing pendulum of my soul! Draw an arc of light across the ether! Pendulum Summon! Come forth, my ace monster! Wondrous and beautiful dragon with dichromatic eyes! Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon!" Yuya shouted as his red dragon with red and green eyes appeared on the battlefield with a powerful roar.

Odd Eyes and Clear Wing roared in unison as Yuya and Yugo angrily stared at their opponent.

"Battle! Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon, attack Blaze Core! Spiral Strike Burst!" Yuya shouted as his monster fired its signature red blast.

"Trap Activate! Twin Vortex! By destroying Blaze Core on my field, Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon is destroyed!" Roget shouted as two vortexes consumed both his and Yuya's monsters.

"What?!" Yuya gasped.

"Now Blaze Core's effect activates! Since it was destroyed by a card effect, I can bring out these five monsters!"

The five pieces combined in a burst of red light, creating a giant red mech with turquiose infinity crest on its chest and glowing blue lights on its face. The mech had a fiery sword on one arm and a bulky gauntlet on the other. It's head was spiky like a flame while it's mechanical legs had fire bursting out of its heels, leaving a trail of flames behind.

"It's here..." Yugo uttered nervously.

"Machine Emperor Blazel Infinity's ATK becomes the combined total ATK of the other Blazel cards on the field!"

Blazel Infinity (0/0)-(2500/0)

"I fell right into his trap..." Yuya grunted in anger.

"Don't worry, Yuya. Now that his Machine Emperor is on the field, I'll smash it into pieces on my next turn." Yugo assured his teammate.

"Right...turn end." Yuya concluded.

"Let's go! My turn, draw! From my hand, I summon Speedroid Horse Stilts!" Yugo shouted as the toy horse appeared.

"When this card is summoned, I can special summon a level 4 or lower Speedroid from my hand! Come, the Tuner Monster, Speedroid CarTurbo!" Yugo shouted as the car battery appeared.

"Now, I tune the Level 3 CarTurbo to the Level 4 Horse Stilts! White dragon with shinning wings! Smash through our enemies and soar through the battle field at the speed of light! Come Forth! Level 7! Clear Wing Fast Dragon!" Yugo shouted as his white and green dragon with blue prismatic wings appeared.

"Let me guess, you're aiming for mutual destruction? Trap Activate! Blaze C3! By sending Blazel Carrier 3 to the graveyard, I can special summon Blazel Carrier 3!"

The red mechanical legs were replaced with legs that had more advanced, spikier armor.

Blazel Infinity (2500/0)-(2700/0)

"Not only is my monster now stronger, Blazel Carrier 3's effect prevents monsters on my field from being targeted by the effects of Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz monsters!" Roget explained with a grin.

"Damn it..." Yugo uttered in anger.

"Don't worry, Yugo. They'll be more chances. We just have to hold on." Yuya told his counterpart.

"Yeah...I set a card facedown, turn end!" Yugo concluded.

"My turn! By sending Blazel Carrier 3 to the graveyard, I can special summon Blazel Carrier 5!"

The spiky armored legs that made up the Machine Emperor's lower half was replaced with a pair of rockets that released bright flames.

The arm with the fiery sword was replaced with an arm holding a burning mace.

"It keeps evolving..." Yugo grunted as sweat formed on his forehead.

"Machine Emperor Blazel Infinity's effect activates! By targeting a Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz monster on the opponent's field, that monster becomes equipped to this card! I target Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!"

"I won't let you! Clear Wing's effect activates! When a Level 5 or higher Monster is targeted by a Monster's effect, that effect is negated and that monster is destroyed-"

"That won't happen thanks to Blazel Carrier 5's effect, which prevents monsters on my field from being affected by the effects of your Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz Monsters." Roget explained with a grin.

"What?!" Yugo shouted in shock.

"Absorb his ace monster, Blazel Infinity!"

Turquoise an energy shot out of the Machine Emperor's core and latched onto Yugo's ace monster. The dragon let out a cry before it was absorbed.

"And thanks to Blazel Infinity's effect, it gains the equipped monster's original ATK!"

Blazel Infinity (3100/0)-(5600/0)

"...No...Clear Wing...I'm sorry..." Yugo sorrowfully uttered.

"I'll take you out first, King! Battle! Blazel Infinity, attack Clear Wing Fast Dragon! Crimson Purge!" Roget shouted as his machine swung its burning mace at the hybrid dragon, smashing it into pieces.

"Trap Activate! Defense Draw! I don't take any damage and I can draw a card!" Yugo countered as he drew.

"You won't escape defeat! Due to Blazel Attack 2's effect, Machine Emperor Blazel Infinity can attack twice per turn!" Roget grinned.

"That means...!" Yugo uttered in fear.

"You're finished! Go, Blazel Infinity! Direct attack! CRIMSON PURGE!" Roget shouted as his monster gained a fiery dragonic aura in the shape of Clear Wing before swinging its mace.

"YUGO!" Rin cried out.

"Damn it!" Yugo cursed as he braced himself.

"Entermate Classikuriboh's Pendulum Effect activates! When an opponent's monster declares a direct attack, this card is destroyed!" Yuya shouted as his fiend bursted into particles. "At this moment, Classikuriboh's Monster Effect has been triggered! Since it was destroyed while in the Pendulum Zone, the Battle Phase is forced to end!"

The furry fiend appeared in front of the burning mace, taking the attack for Yugo.

"Good save, Yuya!" Yuzu cheered.

"Yuya...I'm sorry I wasted your defenses..." Yugo apologized.

"No need to apologize. We're in this together." Yuya reassured his teammate.

"To think the new king would have been ended right then and there if it wasn't for his friend. The former king lasted much longer than that." Roget taunted.

"Tch...he's right..." Yugo nervously grunted.

"Yugo, don't listen to him!" Rin shouted.

"I set two cards facedown, turn end." Roget concluded.

"We're just getting started! My turn! I activate the Spell Card, Odd Eyes Draw! I send the top card of my deck to the graveyard and if it's an Odd Eyes monster, I draw cards depending on its Level." Yuya revealed the top card of his deck, which was Odd Eyes Gravity Dragon. "Alright! Since it was a Level 7 Odd Eyes monster, I draw three cards! Next, with the Scale 8 Entermate Odd Eyes Unicorn, I set the Pendulum Scale!"

"With this, I can simultaneously summon Monsters with Levels 2 through 7! Pendulum Summon! Come forth my monsters! From my Extra Deck, Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon! From my hand, Entermate Discover Hippo! And the mysterious and eerie dragon with beautiful dichromatic eyes, Odd Eyes Phantom Dragon!"

The blue and grey dragon appeared alongside Yuya's ace dragon and the pink hippo.

"Damn it..." Yuya grunted as he covered his face with his arms in order to brace himself for the incoming shockwave.

"I was wrong to think you were ever a threat to me, Yuya Sakaki. No wonder you weren't able to win the Friendship Cup." Roget sneered.

However, the man's expression quickly shifted to confusion as Yuya moved his arms away from his face, revealing a smirk.

"You really aren't as smart as you think you are if you really think I'm finished! When an Odd Eyes monster is destroyed, I can release an Odd Eyes monster on my field to special summon this monster! A large red dragon with dichroic eyes appeared on the field that wore bladed armor and wings.

Yuya shouted as the wolf and dragon hybrid appeared in defense mode. The monster had blue fur, red and silver armor, and had sharp razor claws.

"Go, Spiral Lance Charge!" Yuya commanded as his monster was surrounded by swirling yellow energy before launching forward.

"Tch...Blazel Guard's effect activates! When another monster on my field is attacked, I can change the attack target to this card!" Roget explained as his mech held up its arm, allowing Blazel Guard to take the attack instead. "And since my monster was in defense mode, I don't take damage!"

"Damn...turn end..." Yuya concluded in disappointment.

"Don't worry, Yuya. You forced him to use his defenses and gave me a hint for what I need to do. My turn, draw!" Yugo determinedly roared as he drew. "First, I set a card facedown. Then, I activate the Spell Card, Treasure Cards from the Heavens! Each of us draw until we have six cards in our hands!"

Yugo, Yuya, and Roget each drew until they had a completely refilled hand. Yugo scanned the cards he had drawn before grinning.

"I'll start with this! I activate the Spell Card, Speedroid Accel! This allows me to draw a card and if it's a Speedroid, I get to special summon it, but that monster can't attack this turn. If it's not a Speedroid, that card is banished. Come on, my deck...give me what I need!"

Yugo held the card out for a moment and closed his eyes. Without even looking at the card, he showed it to his opponent.

"So, how'd I do?" Yugo cheekily asked as he opened his eyes and saw the frustrated expression on Roget's face. He smirked before taking a look for himself. "Yes! I special summon the Tuner Monster, Speedroid Red Eyed Dice!"

I release the Level 7 Clear Wing Fast Dragon! Dragon born from the storm! Gain the power of the raging winds and fly through the field like a hurricane! Ritual Summon! Come forth! Level 7! The green armored dragon with turquoise colored armor plates appeared. The dragon had sharp blue prismatic wings and piercing turquoise eyes.

"He took inspiration from Yuya's strategy!" Crow shouted with a smile.

"Do it, Storm Dragon! Dichroic Storm!"

The dragon's turquoise eyes glowed as it let out a powerful roar. The dragon's wings glowed at it flew towards Roget's field and began circling it. This caused his combined monster to be consumed by a tornado of shinning wind-like energy.

"You...!" Roget grunted in anger.

"Nice, Yugo!" Rin yelled.

Yugo shouted as his dragon's wings shined brightly as it flew up in the air.

Yugo's dragon smashed through the mechanical monster, causing a powerful shockwave that sent Roget skidding backwards.

"Oh yeah? Trap Activate! Urgent Tuning! This lets me perform a Synchro Summon!" Yugo shouted, causing his opponent's eyes to widen. "I tune the Level 1 Red Eyed Dice to my Level 7 Clear Wing Storm Dragon! Mechanical dragon that rules over the skies! Fly down and destroy your enemies with the power of the raging winds! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 8! High-Speedroid Kitedrake!"

"How naive. Infinity Energy's effect activates in my graveyard! By banishing this card when I'm attacked directly, I can special summon a Level 1 Machine-type monster from my hand or deck with its effects negated! Also, that monster can't be destroyed by battle during this turn! Come, Hydro Core!" Roget shouted as a small cyan machine appeared.

The five parts floated towards eachother, combining in a bright blue flash of light. What now floated in front of Roget was a giant, aquatic-themed mech with glowing red eyes and sharp teal armor. It was equipped with a cannon on one hand and a gauntlet on the other, with its lower body being a large mechanical shark tale. In the middle of it's body was a infinity crest, glowing with turquiose energy.

"Machine Emperor Hydrel Infinity's ATK becomes the combined total ATK of the other Hydrel cards on the field!"

Roget yelled as the turquoise energy from the mech's core latched onto the monster, allowing the blue machine to absorb it.

Also, your monsters can only attack it for as long as it's on the field until the end of the turn! I target Odd Eyes Lancer Dragon!" Yuya shouted as his dragons eyes began to glow.

"Aww, protecting your teammate once again? Wouldn't you be better off saving your resources for defending yourself? Can the king really not protect himself on his own?" Roget sneered, earning a grimace from the banana-haired boy.

"That's not it at all! Unlike you, someone who lets others suffer to get what you want, I refuse to not help my friends!" Yuya determinedly shouted.

"Yuya..." Yugo trailed off. Although Yuya had previously damaged his counterparts by tapping into their connection, it seemed like the boy was determined to do whatever it took to make up for that mistake.

"In that case, let's have some fun, Yuya Sakaki! By sending Hydrel Carrier to the graveyard, I can special summon Hydrel Carrier 3!"

In place of the mechanical tail, a teal boat-like machine appeared.

The mechanical head with a small fin was replaced with a head that had glowing yellow eyes and a large fin on the back of it.

I return Entermate Odd Eyes Unicorn to my hand!" Yuya countered as a yellow barrier formed around the red dragon, holding off the blast.

"You're hopeless if you think that's all it'll take to stop my attack! Hydrel Top 3's effect activates! Once per either player's turn, when a battling monster activates an effect, that effect is negated!" Roget shouted as his mech launched a beam from its eyes that disintegrated the barrier.

"What?!" Yuya gasped as the blast connected with his dragon, causing a powerful explosion that knocked him through the air.

"Yuya!" Yugo screamed as his counterpart landed on the ground.

"And through Hydrel Carrier 5's effect, you take 300 damage each time a monster on my field destroys a monster you control!" Roget explained. The cannons on the mechanical ship the mech rested on fired a barrage a small cyan blasts that collided with Yuya.

YUYA: 1000-700 LP

"Stop it!" Yuzu cried as Yuya lifelessly laid on the ground, the device on the boy's chest blinking red.

"Yuya, talk to me!" Yugo shouted in concern as he ran over to the boy.

"My heart...its getting heavy..." Yuya admitted as his counterpart helped him to his feet.

"You bastard...!" Yugo lowly growled, glaring at Roget.

"I set one card facedown, turn end!" Roget finished with a devious smirk on his face.

"Don't worry, Yugo..." Yuya clutched his chest as he stood tall, his eyes unwaveringly staring down his opponent. "...nothing will stop me from winning this duel."

That serious glint in Yuya's eye was something that boy wasn't used to. The boy that was dueling alongside him right now wasn't the same as the one who'd dueled against him during the Friendship Cup. He had seen a glimpse of this when Yuya had dueled Ushio earlier, but now, it was on full display. The caring boy had no feelings of pity or sadness for his opponent.

Yuya was dueling to win, it was as simple as that.

"Then by all means, show that snake how it's done." Yugo gave his friend a thumbs up before walking back to where he once stood.

"My turn...draw!" Yuya shouted through the pain as he went to draw.

"Not only can Roget negate Yuya's card effects during battle with Hydrel Top 3, he can also negate an attack with Hydrel Guard..." Reira noted, remembering the card being used during the duel with Jack.

"Yuya's gonna have to form one hell of an onslaught to break through Roget's defenses." Yaiba pointed out in a nervous tone.

"But if anyone can do it, it'd be him." Hokuto said, knowing fully well of what the boy was capable of from first hand experience.

I banish it to add Stargazer Magician and Dragoncaller Magician back to my hand. Next, with the Scale 1 Stargazer Magician, and the Scale 8 Entermate Odd Eyes Unicorn, I set the Pendulum Scale!"

Yuya shouted as the red and green eyed hybrid dragon with pitch-black armor and two fangs on its chin appeared.

"I've still got another attack! Enlightenment Paladin, attack Hydrel Infinity! Ascension Spiral Slash!" Yuya shouted. The swordsman combined the handles of the two blades creating one double edged weapon. He flew towards the opposing monster while spinning his weapon, which was embedded with Metal Claw's red energy, before slashing through the center of the mech.

"He did it!" Yuzu cheered.

"Enlightenment Paladin's effect activates! You take damage equal to the-"

"Don't get too ahead of yourself."

Roget's conniving words caused Yuya to pause. The boy's eyes widened as the mech that was previously split in half was now in the processing of reattaching itself back together.

"Hydrel Carrier 5's effect. All monsters on my field can't be destroyed once per turn."

"N-No way...!" Yuya uttered in disbelief.

"You put in all that work, even throwing away most of your remaining life points, just to only inflinct such a minor amout of damage! You're pathetic, Yuya Sakaki!" Roget sneered, causing the to look down.

"...T-Turn end." Yuya concluded in defeat. "At this moment, Gap Power's effect ends..."

"I'm going to end it...you, your plans, your hold over this city, all of it! MY TURN!" Yugo screamed as he drew. "I activate the Spell Card, Roll of Fate! Go, dice roll!"

A dice materialized and flew through the air before landing on...

"Alright, it's a six! I draw six cards and then send the same amount from the top of my deck to the graveyard!"

"Simply being lucky won't trump my superior intellect." Roget taunted.

As the light dispersed, Clear Wing now had blue and golden armor along with sharper and brighter green wings.

"He brought out two of Clear Wing's evolutions...!" Yuzu uttered in awe as the two majestic dragons hovered in front of Yugo.

Yugo yelled as his evolved ace's wings gained a white glow. "Next, I banish Speedroid CarTurbo in my graveyard to activate its effect! My WIND monsters gain 800 ATK until the end of the turn!"

"You may be able to bypass Hydrel Carrier 5's effect since your monster is from the Main Deck, but Hydrel Top 3 can still negate a battling monster's activated effect. Did you lose sight of the fact because of your blinding rage?"

"Nope, I'm just getting to the good part! Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon's effect activates! Once per either player's turn, a monster effect is negated and that monster is destroyed! Then, this card gains the destroyed monster's ATK!" Yugo shouted, causing Roget's eyes to widen. The dragon released a blinding white light that obliterated the dragon before it could reach its target.

"I know it's kinda expected since he's the new king and all...but Yugo really is amazing..." Yaiba uttered in awe of the strength that his fellow Synchro user possessed.

"Yeah, it kinda bugs me..." Roy muttered, still wanting to take revenge on the boy for their duel during the Miami Championship.

"Let's finish this! Trap Activate! Synchro Strike! My dragon gains 500 ATK for each of its Synchro materials!"

"Roget doesn't have enough life points to survive the attack!" Rin gasped.

"Finish it!" Shun loudly yelled.

"Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon, attack Hydrel Infinity!"

"Hydrel Guard's effect activates! Once per turn, an attack is negated!" Roget countered as his monster's arm formed a barrier.

"Prismatic Wing's effect prevents the equipped monster from being affected by card effects, so Crystal Wing's attack can't be negated!"

"What?!" Roget gasped as the blinding light surrounded the dragon as it gained speed.

"Finish him! KRYSTALLOS GALE EDGE!"

Blue light reflected off the dragon's crystal armor, leaving behind a glimmering trail of light as the dragon began to fly through the air.

"Your monster won't be destroyed due to Hydrel Carrier 5's effect...but you'll still take the damage! This is the end!"

The dragon clashed against the barrier, causing a powerful shockwave that forced all those present to brace themselves.

"...Thank you, King."

"Eh?!"

"When a Machine Emperor on my field is attacked by a monster whose ATK is higher than its own by 2000 or higher, I can activate the Trap Card, Emergency Absorption." Roget explained, his panicking expression being replaced with a calm and calculated persona. "Through this card's effect, a Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz Monster besides the one attacking becomes equipped to my Machine Emperor! Hydrel Infinity, absorb Supreme King Black Dragon - Odd Eyes Rebellion Dragon!"

Turquoise energy quickly shot out of the mech and latched onto the hybrid dragon, allowing the blue mech to absorb it.

"Rebellion Dragon!" Yuya cried.

"And due to Hydrel Infinity's effect, it gains Odd Eyes Rebellion Dragon's 3000 ATK!"

"You...can't be serious...!" Yugo mumbled in shock.

"Counterattack! Disaster Stream!" Roget screamed as his monster fired a blast of blue energy from point blank range.

"Tch...by sending Prismatic Wings to the graveyard, Crystal Wing isn't destroyed..."

"But you still take the damage!"

Yugo clutched his chest as his heart skipped a beat while the device blinked.

"...Turn end..." Yugo looked towards the ceiling in anger while clenching his fist.

"Wow, did you forget my facedown card existed or were you simply that confident it wouldn't help me in that situation? You sure talked big, but you did even less than your teammate! Both of you dazzled your friends with a grand spectacle of effects and monsters just to accomplish absolutely nothing! It's hilarious!" Roget laughed, causing both Yuya and Yugo to sweat.

"He's right...those were some awesome combos Yuya and Yugo performed...and they weren't enough to even scratch Roget..." Sora nervously spoke.

"Let's continue, shall we? My turn! Hydrel Infinity's effect allows it to absorb Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon!" Roget yelled as his the blue dragon was pulled into the mech's core. "And through its effect, Hydrel Infinity gains Crystal Wing's 3000 ATK!"

"11800 ATK...that's insane...!" Sawatari gulped.

"Seeing as neither of you have any facedown, it seems that one of you have their fates sealed." Roget uttered, taking turns between pointing at Yuya and then pointing at Yugo. "For the obnoxious words you spoke earlier, King, I'll personally make you suffer by forcing you to watch as your friend's heart stops beating!"

"No...!" Yugo uttered in terror.

"He's going to...!" Yuzu choked on her words as tears formed in her eyes.

"Neither of them have any set cards...!" Yuto fearfully realized, causing his heart to race.

"Battle! Hydrel Infinity, attack Enlightenment Paladin! Disaster Stream!"

"YUYA!" Serena and Crow both cried out.

"SURVIVE!!!" Sora and Gongenzaka screamed at the top of their lungs.

"I...can't..." Yuya uttered, looking around his field. "...Yugo...please win..."

"Don't give me that, Yuya! Three Eyed Dice's effect activates in the graveyard! By banishing it, the attack is negated!"

A triangular barrier formed in front of Yuya, blocking the blast.

"Oh my god...I forgot about that card..." Rin admitted after sighing in relief.

"I think we all did..." Yuzu uttered, wiping away the tears from her eyes.

"Thanks, Yugo..." Yuya said to his counterpart.

"Don't thank me, you already saved my ass twice this duel. I'm just returning the favor!" Yugo grinned before giving his brother a thumbs up. "I've got your back. Keep going all out."

"...Right." Yuya nodded with a small smile on his face.

"...Yuya...Yugo..." Yuto lowly uttered, seeing the bond between his two counterparts.

"Delay the inevitable as long as you want, it won't change anything. I set two cards facedown, turn end." Roget concluded.

"...I won't...give up..." Yuya declared in between breaths as he put his hand on his chest, feeling his heart slowly beat. "...Until my heart stops beating...I'll keep putting everything I have into defeating you! My turn! I activate the Spell Card, Pot of Greed! I draw two cards! DRAW!" Yuya cried as he whipped his arm through the air.

"Fight on, Yuya!" Gongenzaka roared.

"Let's go...Pendulum Summon! Come forth, my monsters! From the Extra Deck, Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon! From my hand, Entermate Trampolynx! Entermate Drop Gallop! Entermate Bubulldog!" Yuya shouted as four beams of light shot out of the portal, revealing his ace, a purple cat that's body was a trampoline, a pink bipedal horse, and a bull dog carrying a shower brush.

"Yuya managed to build his hand back up to four cards!" Sora cheered as Yuya scanned his newly formed hand.

As the boy looked at his cards, his lips slightly curled upwards before he looked up at Roget with a smirk on his face.

"Your bluffing...there's no way you found a way to get through Hydrel Infinity at its current state of power..." Roget grimaced.

"Let's find out. I activate the Spell Card, Spiral Strike Burst! Since I control an Odd Eyes monster, I can destroy a card on your field! Odd Eyes, destroy Machine Emperor Hydrel Infinity!" Yuya commanded his ace, who fired a powerful red blast at the mech.

"Useless! Hydrel Carrier 5's protection effect doesn't only just apply to battle, but also destruction by card effects!" Roget yelled as mech tanked the blast.

"But that effect only protects your monster once per turn, so now Hydrel Infinity is vulnerable! By releasing a Synchro Monster and a Pendulum Summoned Pendulum Monster whose Levels equal 10, I can perform Synchro Summon this monster without the use of a Tuner Monster! I tune the Level 8 Enlightenment Paladin to the Level 2 Entermate Trampolynx!" Yuya shouted as the magician turned into eight green rings that flew around the cartoonish purple cat.

"This is...!" Roget trailed off before shielding his eyes from the brilliant blue light that was being produced from Yuya's field.

"From the peaceful depths of time, release the light throughout this wide world, and revive! Synchro Summon! Level 10! Ultimate Magical Swordsman of Enlightenment! Nirvana High Paladin!" Yuya screamed as the light began to dissipate, revealing a paladin clad in blue and golden armor that carried a large sword with a gold handle.

"To think Yuya's Synchro Summon could be this amazing...!" Gongenzaka uttered in awe.

"Tell me about it..." Yaiba nodded.

"Nirvana High Paladin's effect! When this card is summoned using a Pendulum Summoned Pendulum Monster, I can target a card in my graveyard and add it to my hand!" Yuya shouted as his monster waved it's sword in a circular motion, creating a rainbow colored portal in the sky. "I target the Spell Card, Gap Power!"

Suddenly, the card materialized from the portal and flew towards Yuya, who caught the card and placed it into his hand. The boy then grabbed another card and held it high in the air.

"Now...I activate the Field Spell, Sky Iris!" Yuya yelled before inserting the card his duel disk.

Roget's eyes widened at the sight of Yuya activating a Field Spell, something he'd never been shown to do during his previous duels.

Suddenly, the area surrounding the duelists gained a blue hue as a large pendulum swung through the air in a circle. A colorful aurora of lights then formed in the sky.

"So this is Yuya's Field Spell..." Serena uttered as everyone stared at the majestic colors that filled the sky.

"Sky Iris' effect activates...by destroying a face up card on my field, I can add an Odd Eyes monster from my deck to my hand. I choose to destroy...Nirvana High Paladin!" Yuya declared, much to the shock of most people present for the duel. The paladin bursted into particles and a card popped out of the boy's deck.

"What?! He destroyed his powerful hybrid monster he just brought out to only add a card to his hand?!" Sawatari gasped in disbelief.

"There's more to it than that..." Serena stated, causing the others to think.

"That's right...he's trying to trigger its other effect!" Yuzu realized as Yuya pointed at the empty Pendulum Zone.

"Nirvana High Paladin's effect activates! When this card is destroyed...I can place this card in the Pendulum Zone!"

Stargazer 1 - 8 Nirvana

"Odd Eyes Spark Dragon's effect in my hand activates!" Yuya shouted as the smaller yellow and dark blue dragon, with the familiar red and green eyes, appeared on the battlefield. "By sending this card from my hand to the graveyard, Spells or Traps on your field are destroyed up to the amount of Odd Eyes Pendulum Monsters on my field! I choose Odd Eyes Rebellion Dragon in your Spell/Trap Zone!"

"That will weaken Hydrel Infinity!" Serena realized.

The dragon became pure electricity that flew towards Roget's field.

"As if I'd allow you to take away the main strength of my monster! Continuous Trap Activate! Absorption Prison! While this card is on the field, any card equipped to a Machine Emperor cannot be destroyed by card effects!" Roget shouted a barrier blocked the electricity from approaching any further.

"This guy's got a protocol for everything..." Yugo groaned.

"I'm not done...Quick Play Spell, Illusion Balloons! By excavating cards on the top of my deck equal to the number of monsters that were destroyed this turn, I can special summon a revealed Entermate monster! Since only Nirvana High Paladin was destroyed...I only have one chance." Yuya's hand hovered over his deck as the boy closed his eyes. "This will decide the fate of myself, my friends, and this dimension. I have faith in you, my deck. Now, let's do this!"

Yuya swiped his arm through the air, holding the top card of his deck up for his opponent to see.

"That's...!"

"Come forth! Level 8! My joyful comrade that can make anyone smile! Entermate Laugh Maker!" Yuya shouted as the magician clad in yellow appeared, wearing a large hat that covered his eyes and twirling a purple rod.

"H-H-He drew it!" Sawatari dramatically shouted.

"You're the best, kid!" Crow yelled in excitement.

"With the help of my monsters...and some luck...I've built the field that will lead to your demise, Roget!" Yuya declared, his red eyes staring down his opponent while sweat dripped from his face. "Nirvana High Paladin's Pendulum Effect activates! By targeting the Pendulum Summoned monster I control with the lowest Level, it can't be destroyed and any battle damage is negated! I target Entermate Drop Gallop!

As the paladin waved its sword, a rainbow aura surrounded the cartoonish pink horse.

"Battle! Drop Gallop, attack Machine Emperor Hydrel Infinity! Due to Nirvana High Paladin's effect, my monster is shielded from destruction and I don't take any damage! Also, all monsters you control lose ATK equal to its own!" Yuya shouted as his horse surrounded by colorful energy slammed into the blue mech.

"All of my monsters?!" Roget shouted in shock.

"Nirvana High Paladin's Pendulum Effect continues when the battles ends! Now, the target of its effect switches to a monster one level higher than the previous target! Therefore, the target switches from the Level 5 Entermate Drop Gallop to the Level 6 Entermate Bubulldog!" Yuya explained as the colorful aura around the horse was transferred to the dog carrying a shower brush. "Battle! Bubbull Dog, attack Machine Emperor Hydrel Infinity! At this moment, Nirvana High Paladin's Pendulum Effect activates once more!"

The bull dog leapt forward and struck the Machine Emperor, causing its armor to crack even more.

The dragon fired a colorful blast of energy that clashed against the mech, almost shattering its armor.

"Its ATK is way lower than Laugh Maker's now!" Ruri happily pointed out.

"Y-You brat...to think you'd actually reduce my creation to this dreadful state...!" Roget seethed in anger.

"This is the finale! Laugh Maker, attack Machine Emperor Hydrel Infinity! Laughing Spark!"

The magician spun its rod through the air before firing a blast of colorful lightning at the mech.

"In all the excitement, it seems that you forgot one crucial flaw in your plan! Hydrel Guard's effect! Once per turn, it can negate an attack!" Roget shouted as the mech used its almost shattered arm to create a barrier.

"...I don't have any counter to that." Yuya lowered his head, causing everyone to look on in fear.

The magician put everything into the blast, however, the barrier was simply unbreakable.

"HAHAHA! You did all that just to-"

"But you have one, right?"

Roget's eyes widened as he heard Yuya's question. He then slowly turned his head to look on at his other opponent, who had a grin on his face.

"Since I control Clear Wing Synchro Dragon...I can activate this card's effect from my hand...the Counter Trap, Dichroic Mirror!"

"A Counter Trap from the hand?!"

As Yugo's card materialized on the field, his ace's wings began to shine as bright as the aurora created from Yuya's Field Spell.

"When an opponent's monster activates an effect during the Battle Phase while I control a Clear Wing monster, that effect is negated and that monster is destroyed! Destroy Hydrel Guard, Clear Wing!" Yugo shouted as his ace fired a powerful wave of green energy from its wings that obliterated the mech's arm.

"And with that, Laugh Maker's attack goes through!" Yuya exclaimed as the barrier faded, causing the blast of lightning to shoot through the center of the mech and collide with Roget. The man was sent flying through the air as Hydrel Infinity's effect was triggered, destroying all of its parts upon destruction.

"Nice move, Yuya!" Yuzu shouted.

"Nice assist, Yugo!" Rin cheered.

"...You gambled your entire attack on the possibility that your teammate had a card that could help despite having no set cards on his field...how could you even think to go through with something so unpredictable...?"

"Unpredictable? It wasn't like that at all. He told me to go all out and that he'd have my back, so I trusted him." Yuya told his opponent before holding his fist up towards Yugo.

"A guy like you who forces everyone to do what he wants wouldn't know a thing about trust." Yugo jeered at his opponent before also holding up his fist, performing an air fist bump with his counterpart.

Yuto silently watched as his counterparts, while his fist subconsciously tightening.

"Yugo...Yuya...you're both amazing..." Yuzu smiled with tears in her eyes.

"Nice play, Yuya! Kick his ass next, Yugo!" Rin loudly screamed.

"...Yugo, the final attack is all yours." Yuya smiled at his teammate.

"Leave it to me! Clear Wing and I will send him flying!" Yugo grinned.

"...Machine Imperial God Dragon Apeiron's effect activates in my hand."

Yuya and Yugo whipped their heads towards Roget as he spoke.

"When a Machine Emperor is destroyed and sent to the graveyard, I can special summon this card from my hand!"

A large bronze mechanical dragon with a serpentine body appeared in front of Roget.

"...Looks like we still have one more-"

The red and green-haired boy fell to his knees as the adrenaline coursing through his body finally died down. The heart device continued to blink as he struggled to breathe.

"Yuya, end your turn now so I can finish this and get that thing off you!" Yugo desperately shouted.

"I...end my turn..." Yuya concluded.

Clear Wing Machine Dragon!" Yugo shouted as the grey mechanized dragon with green and blue crystals on it's body appeared.

"You have to end this now, Yugo!" Yuzu desperately cried.

"I will! Clear Wing Machine Dragon's effect! It gains ATK equal to half of High-Speedroid Kitedrake's ATK!" Yugo shouted as his dragon's eyes shined.

"Battle! Clear Wing Machine Dragon, attack Machine Imperial God Dragon Apeiron! Mechanized Sky Assault!" Yugo roared as the blue and green crystals on his dragon's armor shined.

"At this moment, Apeiron's effect activates! Once per either player's turn, when this card battles another monster, it can target a Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz Monster on the field besides the one it's battling and it becomes equipped to this card! Also, this card gains that monster's ATK! I target Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!" Roget grinned as blue energy shot out of the dragon's core and latched onto the hybrid dragon.

"Haven't we already done this song and dance? Apeiron is unaffected by the effects of your Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz Monsters!"

"Shit!" Yugo screamed as once again, his ace was stolen from him.

"Counterattack, Apeiron!" Roget shouted as his dragon flew through Yugo's monster, creating a shockwave that caught the boy offguard.

"Ghh..." Yugo gripped his chest as the heart device blinked.

"He cleared Yugo's field..." Rin nervously trailed off.

"Since when am I so useless..." Yugo looked at his hands, which were shaking from the extreme amount of anger and frustration coursing through the boy's veins.

"Don't let it get to you...just a bit more and we'll win..." Yuya told his teammate with a slight smile, his face looking noticeably paler than before.

"Yeah...I set two cards facedown, turn end." Yugo concluded.

"You two have kept things interesting so far. I guess that means it's time for you to witness the true power of this deck! My turn! I activate the Spell Card, Advance Draw! By releasing a Level 8 or higher monster, I draw two cards. I release Aperion!"

"Releasing his powerful monster?!" Rin gasped.

"From my hand, I summon Shine Core!"

"I activate another copy of the Spell Card, Chaos Shock! I can destroy a monster on the field with 1000 or lower ATK such as Shine Core."

A blast of lightning shot out of the card and destroyed the machine.

"Then, the opponent takes damage equal to its Level times 200." Roget smirked as another blast of lightning hit Yuya.

"GAAAH!" Yuya loudly gasped for air as his heart slowed even more, causing him to keel over.

"YUYA!" Yuzu tearfully shouted.

"Deep breaths, Yuya! Hang on!" Yugo shouted as his friend.

The five pieces combined in a flash of golden light. The giant golden mech had the appearance of a futuristic knight, armed with a helmet, spear, and shield. The turquiose infinity crest on its chest plate shined as bright as its silver eyes.

"The third Machine Emperor that defeated Jack..." Yugo grunted, his face contorting with anger.

"Machine Emperor Shinel Infinity's effect differs from that of the other Machine Emperors. Shinel Infinity gains ATK equal to the difference between the opponents' original and current Life Points." Roget explained with a devious smile.

"The difference between Yugo's is 700 while Yuya's is 3900...!" Hokuto noted.

"...so Roget's Monster's ATK becomes 4600!" Yaiba gasped.

"That's more than enough ATK to finish either of them off..." Roy muttered.

"Why stop there? Shinel Top's effect activates! Once per turn, while Astrel Infinity has no cards equipped to it, I can target a Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz Monster in the opponent's graveyard and it becomes equipped to Shinel Infinity! I target Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon!"

"Tch..." Yugo clicked his tongue in frustration as a portal appeared on his field.

Suddenly, turquoise tendrils shot out of the Machine Emperor's head and flew into the portal, dragging out the crystal dragon. The evolved ace of the king let out a cry before it was absorbed into the infinity-shaped core of the Machine Emperor.

"And due to its effect, Machine Emperor Shinel Infinity gains the equipped monster's ATK!"

"I activate the Spell Card, Infinity Barrage! While I control a Machine Emperor monster, I can target up to two Spell or Traps on the field and they are destroyed! I target the left set card and Nirvana High Paladin!"

"Negate Attack...!" Yugo grunted as his set card was blown to pieces by a missile while the same happened to Yuya's hybrid paladin.

"Battle! Shinel Infinity, attack the pathetic excuse of a king directly!" Roget commanded.

Yugo's eyes widened as he came to a realization.

"I...have to take this attack so Yuya can survive..." Yugo quietly said to himself, closing his eyes and looking down.

"Yugo...!" Yuya uttered in realization as the mech's blast was now fully charged.

This was fine, Yugo thought to himself with a smile on his face. Yuya had accepted Yugo into his family after their terrible first encounter, saved him from death against Darkness and Sergey, and helped him realize his true reason for fighting. With everything Yuya's done for him, he was ok with things ending this way.

"YUGO!" Rin cried out in horror.

'Sorry, Rin...but I can't let my brother's life end here...' Yugo let out a sigh before his clenched fist finally softened.

"...Have faith in me...!"

Yugo's eyes snapped open at the sound of his counterpart's voice, who was deeply exhaling after using most of his remaining energy to raise his voice.

"...I'll trust you..." Yugo made eye contact with his teammate before facing the blast head on. "When Roll of Fate's effect sent card's from my deck to the graveyard, one of those cards was the Trap Card, Dichroic Cry! Through its effect, I can banish it to special summon a Clear Wing monster from my graveyard that was destroyed during the previous turn! Rise, Clear Wing Machine Dragon!"

The knight-like mech spun its spear in its hand, which became coated with golden energy. Jumping forward, the mech thrusted its majestic weapon through the yellow performer, causing a powerful explosion.

Yuya tried opening his mouth to speak, but only managed to let out a loud gasp for air before falling to his knees, his eyes now bloodshot.

"YUYAAAA!" Yuzu let out a bloodcurdling scream of utter terror as Yuya got caught in the explosion, causing him to be sent flying through the air.

"Did he lie...so I wouldn't sacrifice myself...?" Yugo could only mutter, unable to move out of pure shock as Yuya's limp body fell towards the ground.

However, before the boy could hit the ground, a familiar purple creature broke his fall by allowing Yuya's body to land on its round and squishy body.

"That's...!" Crow gasped.

"...Entermate Balloon Barrier Tapir!" Serena shouted in relief.

"He must've discarded it at the last moment to reduced the damage to 0!" Sawatari theorized.

The purple monster floated towards the ground, softly dropping Yuya before disappearing.

"Yuya, you bastard!" Yugo shouted, wiping away the tears that were forming in his eyes.

"He's not going to make it much longer..." Yuto uttered, feeling powerless. There had to be something he could do to help the boy, but what? He was supposed to be the next so-called Death God, so why couldn't he have control over the impending death of someone he...

"...So you're still kicking, Yuya Sakaki? With your heart on the brink of failure, you surely won't last much longer...so good thing I have another card that'll let me draw things out even more! Quick Play Spell, Infinity Regenerator! When a Machine Emperor fails to inflict battle damage, I gain life points equal to its ATK!"

"...We have...to win...r-right?" Yuya shakily got off the ground and turned to Yugo, his bangs covering his sickening eyes.

"Yuya...set up defenses and end your turn so you can conserve energy. Let me handle the rest. This is my home dimension, you shouldn't be the one to give your life to protect it."

"I...w-won't leave you...alone in this duel...Yu...go..." Yuya slowly spoke, his throat seemingly closing the more he spoke.

He then turned to his opponent, his only half-opened bloodshot eyes locking onto the man.

"...M-My...turn." Yuya uttered as he drew, his arm noticeably looking hard for the boy to move at his own will. "...I activate...S-Spell Card, Odd Eyes Release Draw..."

Odd Eyes bursted into particles, allowing Yuya to draw a card for every two Levels Odd Eyes had. The boy gazed at the four cards in his hand before beginning to cough.

"That's it, give into your pain and go towards the light!" Roget sneered.

"...Sky Iris' effect...I destroy Drop Gallop...to add Odd Eyes Clear Magician...then I reset the Pendulum Scale with it..."

The magician with red and green eyes that resembled Yugo's ace appeared in the blue column.

"...L-Let's...keep fighting...together..." Yuya gave Yugo a small smile before weakly raising his hand up to the dichromatic magician. "Clear Magician's Pendulum Effect...Odd Eyes becomes Level 1...and a Tuner...!"

"I-It can't end like this..." Serena's lips quivered while Crow comfortingly put his arm around the girl.

"...He can't...I won't let him..." Yuto struggled to find the words as Ruri hugged him.

"...I-Is he...?" Yuzu's throat closed as tears rolled down her face. Sora tried his best to comfort the girl with a hug.

"YUYA! JUST HOLD ON! PLEASE!" Yugo screamed as he dove to the ground and checked his pulse.

As feint as possible, Yuya's pulse remained active, but Yugo wasn't sure how much longer his brother could go.

"...He's still alive..." Yugo informed his friends as something began to dwell within him. Rage built within the boy, cyan electricity sparking around him. His eyes began to flicker as he angrily looked up at Roget. "...This is your fault...YOUR FAULT!"

As he felt that he was going to lose control, he looked up at the dragon Yuya had given him, allowing him to recall all of the positive memories he shared with his counterpart.

"...No...I can't lose control...I have to clear my mind..."

Suddenly, Yugo closed his eyes and clasped his hands together out in front of him. The boy took a deep breath before loudly exhaling, disposing of all the negative emotions in his mind.

"...Yugo..." Rin uttered in shock at the sight of her hot-headed friend doing something so peaceful instead of crashing out in a blind rage.

"...Alright, it's time. Yuya...I'll use your power to finish this. MY TURN!" Yugo screamed as he drew. "I activate the Spell Card, Card of Demise! I draw five cards and then discard my entire hand in five turns!"

Yugo quickly drew up a new hand and then pointed up at his Pendulum Scale.

"Hexasaucer's Pendulum Effect! I return Clear Wing Synchro Dragon in my graveyard to my Extra Deck. Domino Butterfly's Pendulum Effect! By discarding a WIND Monster, I can add the banish Speedroid CarTurbo to my hand. Next, I summon the Tuner Monster, Speedroid Rubix!" Yugo shouted as a mech with a body similar to a rubik's cube appeared.

The white and blue dragon with a large tail and green crystal wings appeared with a loud roar.

Yugo's Extra Deck slot opened up and he grabbed the card before slamming it into his duel disk.

The green and purple toy gun appeared beside Clear Wing.

"Let's go, Clear Wing!" Yugo seriously spoke before running forward.

The dragon flew close to the ground, allowing Yugo to jump onto it's body.

"When I lost control in the subway...I was still able to go into that state without my D-Wheel...so we'll do that again!"

"Hold on tight, Master!"

"I tune the Level 3 Synchro Tuner, High-Speedroid Cork-10 to the Level 7 Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!" Yugo shouted as the machine-type turned into three rings that the dragon flew through at incredible speeds. "Majestic dragon flying at the speed of light! Refine your brilliant wings in the light of evolution and accelerate towards the future! ACCEL SYNCHRO! Materialize! Level 10! Crystal Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!"

In a powerful flash of light, the radiant dragon appeared. It had dark blue skin with white, cyan, and gold armor. The dragon had many sharp green crystals protruding from it's armor and it also had a long black and green tail that extended out of it's lower body. The dragon's wings were made of green crystals that protruded from it's back.

"I've been waiting for this moment. Quick Play Spell, Forbidden Chalice! By targeting Crystal Clear Wing, it gains 400 ATK and its effects are negated!" Roget shouted.

"Crystal Clear Wing's effect activates! Once per turn, I can negate the activation of a Spell or Trap Card and destroy it! DICHROIC FORCE!" Yugo shouted as his dragon roared, causing the card to be consumed by a green cyclone.

"But now that your dragon has used its effect, I can do this! Trap Activate! Infinity Chains!"

Suddenly, turquoise chains shot out of the card and wrapped around Yugo's monster, causing his eyes to widen.

"Since I control a Machine Emperor, I can target a Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz Monster on my field and it cannot attack this turn or activate any of its effects! I don't know what you were planning to do with your dragon, but now it's completely useless!"

"Yugo..." Rin trailed off in a worried tone.

"...I activate the Spell Card, Synchro Connection! A Synchro Monster on my field that was Synchro Summoned during this turn gains 100 ATK times the Levels of all Synchro Monsters I control! That's 1800 ATK!" "

"He created a combo using Yuya's cards..." Sawatari trailed off with a hint of admiration.

"I didn't expect you to utilize the cards Yuya Sakaki gave to you to this extent, but this isn't nearly enough to contend with the power of my creation possess." Roget taunted.

"...Yuya trusted me to keep everyone safe...so using his power, that's exactly what I'm going to do! BATTLE! Odd Eyes Wing Dragon, attack Machine Emperor Shinel Infinity!" Yugo declared as his dragon flew forward. "Trap Activate! Synchro Stream! I can add the ATK of my Synchro Monster is increased by the ATK of another Synchro Monster on the field! Meaning, Odd Eyes Wing Dragon gains Crystal Clear Wing Synchro Dragon's ATK!"

The Accel Synchro Monster nodded at the Synchro-Pendulum hybrid before transferring its energy, causing the hybrid to gain a brilliant blue aura.

"I-Impossible...you actually managed to directly overpower my Machine Emperor?!" Roget shouted in disbelief.

"This is the power of me and Yuya's bond!" Yugo declared as his two

"And Odd Eyes Wing Dragon can make two attacks this turn...so if he destroys Roget's monster and then attacks directly...!" Yuzu trailed off, wiping away the tears in her eyes.

"He has enough firepower to finish this...!" Shun realized before proudly smiling.

"YUUUGO! FINISH IT!!" Rin loudly roared.

"For the people you manipulated and the lives you ruined...I'm going to end all of your plans here and now! Odd Eyes Wing Dragon, finish this! STORMING ATTACK - STRIKE SLASHER!"

The hybrid dragon's crystal began glowing brightly as it extended its bladed wings. The Lancers all watched on with hope in their eyes as the dragon flew forward, while Roget's mech attempted to fire a blast of plasma from its weapon. Using its superior speed, the hybrid weaved out of the way of the blast, flying in circles up its arm while simultaneously slicing through it with its crystal blades. As the dichromatic dragon drew closer to the mech's head, it used its other arm to briefly knock the dragon away. Steam emitted from the mech's damaged arm as the hybrid gracefully flew overhead before diving back down to finish the job.

"GOOOO!" Yugo screamed out, as his dragon whirled through the air while descended towards the head of the mech.

"Shinel Guard's effect activates! By returning this card to my hand, I can special summon a monster from my Spell/Trap Zone that's equipped to Shinel Infinity! Come, Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon!"

As the arm of the Shinel Infinity dispersed into light, the blue crystal dragon restrained by turquoise chains shot out of the mech's core.

"Crystal Wing?!" Yugo gasped.

"Then, the attack target is changed to that monster!" Roget shouted as the evolved form of Yugo's ace flew in front of the hybrid dragon, causing it to get shattered to pieces.

"You cockroach..." Yugo hissed before refocusing his thoughts. "Thanks to Double Attack's effect, Odd Eyes Wing Dragon can make another attack! This time, slice through his monster once and for all! STORMING ATTACK - STRIKE SLASHER!"

As Yugo's command echoed throughout the room, the hybrid dragon bursted into a fiery blue aura once again, flying through the core of the mech. Due to Shinel Infinity's effect, the other pieces were also destroyed, causing a powerful explosion that blew Roget away.

"And with that, all of your Machine Emperors have been dealt with! It's over, Roget! I set a card facedown, turn end!" Yugo concluded with a smirk. "At this moment, Synchro Connection, Synchro Stream, and Level Juggler's effects end."

"...I can't believe this is happening...how could some lowly Common brat actually put me in such a position...!" Roget madly grimaced while on the ground, covering his face with his trembling hands.

"Hah! The bastard's lost it!" Sawatari laughed.

"After all the time I've put into making this shit hole into a perfect kingdom...it's hilarious, isn't it? The man that's leading your ragtag group against me is the son of the man that casted me away to this garbage dump of a world! What's with those damn Akabas when it comes to ruining my life! And you two spawns of the devil himself, trying to save this world when in reality, you're destined to destroy it!"

"You've really lost it, haven't you? What the hell are you even talking about?!" Yugo yelled, only earning a demonic chuckle in response.

"HAHAHA! It doesn't matter anymore, since after your hearts stop, you'll have no way of completing the destiny that the Professor so greatly fears. In reality, you lost the moment you failed to deplete my life points."

Roget's maddened tone was replaced with a calm one as he lowered his hands from his face, revealing a sly smirk.

"W-What the hell are you saying?! I defeated your strongest Machine Emperor!" Yugo shouted as sweat began to form on his face.

"Allow me to demonstrate how wrong that statement is. My turn." Roget calmly stated as he drew before holding his hand high in the air. "Don't forget where I come from, boy. By banishing Machine Emperor Shinel Infinity, Machine Emperor Blazel Infinity, and Machine Emperor Hydrel Infinity from my graveyard, I can bring forth my ultimate creation!"

The three cores briefly appeared before spiraling into the multicolored vortex.

"No way...this is...!" Sora's eyes widened in terror.

"Fallen creations of the future empowered by fire, water, and light! Throw yourself into the vortex of union and evolve into the god of the new world! ULTIMATE CONTACT FUSION! Come forth! Level 12! Machine Imperial God Zero Genesis!"

A gigantic black mech stepped out of the fusion vortex, causing the entire building to shake. It three times the size of the previous Machine Emperors and had the cores of Hydrel, Blazel, and Shinel in the center of its body, while yellow, red, and blue energy coursed through its body.

"Ultimate Contact Fusion...he really created such a card...?" Serena uttered in disbelief.

"Infinity Chains' effect is no longer active, so my dragon is free to this! Crystal Clear Wing's effect! Once per either player's turn, when the opponent activates a monster effect, this card gains ATK equal to that monster's original ATK until the end of this turn! Also, this card is unaffected by the opponent's monster effects during this turn! RADIANT MIRROR!" Yugo shouted as his dragon roared while its crystals glowed brightly, causing a green whirlwind of energy to surround it.

"Through Zero Genesis' effect, I can randomly special summon a monster from the opponent's Extra Deck to my field in defense mode while ignoring summoning conditions!"

Turquoise tendrils shot out of the mech's core shot past Yugo, heading straight for Yuya's duel disk. It latched onto his Extra Deck and dragged out his fiend holding a gatling gun.

"Zero Genesis gains Entermate Gatlinghoul's 2900 ATK while its on my field!"

'Tch...Odd Eyes Wing Dragon might be weaker, but the difference in strength isn't enough to cost me the duel.' Yugo inwardly reassured himself.

"I bet you're thinking "it's not strong enough to beat me", right? Well, I'd think again if I were you! By sending Hydrel Top 5 and Blazel Guard 5 to the graveyard, Zero Genesis' effect activates two more times!"

"...No..." Yugo's entire body froze.

Two more tendrils of turquoise energy shot forward, dragging two dragons out of Yuya's Extra Deck, whose roars of agony shook the entire room.

"How can this guy just keep reaching such ATKs like its nothing...!" Sawatari fearfully muttered.

"Looks like I get to execute two kings today! BATTLE! Zero Genesis, attack Odd Eyes Wing Dragon and wipe him off the face of the earth! FINAL REVERSE!

The black goliath drove its mechanical fists into the concrete, causing the ground to rumble. Suddenly, hundreds of blue, red, and yellow pillars of energy erupted from the ground, consuming the hybrid dragon.

"...Yugo..." Yuzu uttered, not being able to prevent tears from rolling down her face.

"YUUGOOO!!!" Rin screech of terror echoed through the corridor.

"...When I used Roll of Fate earlier, the Trap Card, Synchro Endurance was sent to the graveyard! By banishing it, the damage is halved!"

A barrier briefly formed around the boy as he too was consumed by the massive pillars of light. When the attack was finished, Yugo was on the ground, barely conscious with steam coming off his body.

"He survived!" Crow gasped.

"But his life points are even less than Yuya's...which means...!" Serena realized in horror.

"GAAAAAH!"

All of the air in his lungs left his body in one loud gasp. When he went to take another breath...he couldn't. The heart device began to blink red as the king clutched his heart in pain while continuing to gasp for air. His lungs burned as his eyes became bloodshot. Every minor breath felt as challenging as defeating Jack Atlas. He couldn't even muster up any words, only barely being able to lift his head off the ground.

'This burning pain...this is what it feels like to die...and Yuya still managed to hold on for the majority of the duel...he's amazing...so much more amazing than me...'

Yugo shakily rolled over to his stomach before using his trembling arms to push himself upwards.

'He's always been there for me...welcoming me into his home...saving my ass against Darkness and Sergey...and helping me beat Jack...so just this once...I want to do something for him...!'

"Ghh...GRAAAH!" Yugo roared in pain as he forced himself to his feet.

"Yugo...!" Shun and Yuzu uttered in relief.

"H-He's up!" Rin's began to smile.

"...For my home...comrades...best friend...and brother..." Yugo uttered in pain, his hand clenching his chest. "...I'll win this duel...no matter-"

Bam.

Rin blinked in disbelief.

She must've been seeing things, right?

Why would Yugo, the King of Neo Domino City, her best friend, be lying on the ground like that?

"Yugo!" Masumi and Gongenzaka cried out.

"First Yuya, and now...!" Yuzu breathed heavily.

"Get up! You have to get up!" Shun emotionally shouted.

"H-Hey, you can't be defeated here! If you lose, it's over!" Sawatari nervously yelled.

"You have to keep fighting!" Hokuto, Yaiba, and Roy desperately exclaimed.

"I...won't let you die here!" Rin cried out with tears of anger.

The green-haired girl ran away from the group towards the barrier and began to punch it again and again, burning her knuckles.

But she didn't care.

"I won't let you take him away from me! I won't lose him again! I refuse!" Rin shouted as she continued to beat on the barrier, but to no avail.

"Rin, stop! You're hurting yourself!" Ruri yelled as she ran towards her counterpart and held her back.

"I can't lose him! I can't...I-I can't..." Rin's punched slowed down until they eventually stopped.

"HAHAHA! It's over! I've won!" Roget maniacally laughed.

"...Y-You're wrong..."

Everyone's grim expressions quickly perked up as they turned to the origin of the voice.

"No way...that's...!" Serena uttered, her distraught expression slowly fading.

"...YUYAAA!!!" Everyone collectively shouted as the creator of Pendulum Summoning stood on the battlefield once more with his head lowered, causing his eyes to remain hidden by his bangs.

"It can't be...how are you back on your feet?! You should be on death's door!" Roget growled as his opponent silently stood in front of him.

"Yuto!"

Everyone turned around to see Shun kneeling on the ground beside Yuto, who had seemingly lost consciousness.

"No!" Ruri whipped her head in fear before leaving Rin and racing over to her boyfriend.

Yuto quietly lied on the ground, his heart that was previously working normally was now beating much slower than before.

Ruri looked at Yuya in the distance before turning back to Yuto, her expression seeming frantic about the current situation.

"Yuto, what did you do?!"

Moments ago, Yuya had been unconscious on the ground while Yugo fought for both of their sakes.

However, as his mind was flung into an eternal dark void, he was met with a familiar face that left him alarmed.

"Y-Yuto?! What's going on?!"

"Yuya...you have to get up. Yugo won't last much longer on his own." Yuto told his counterpart, who gained a look of disgust.

"And what do you care? I thought all you cared about was going back to Xyz with Ruri, so what changed?!" Yuya angrily snapped.

"Look, we don't have time for this. I can feel the connection between us fading, meaning you're not going to last much longer..." Yuto grimly said, causing Yuya's eyes to twitch.

"...But Yugo will-"

"He's down too." Yuto informed the other boy, causing his eyes to widen. "You're the last hope, Yuya. It's up to you to stop Roget."

Yuto cocked his fist back, which sparked with dark blue electricity.

"GAH!"

Yuya gasped for air as Yuto punched him in the chest, causing his heart to beat faster and faster. Meanwhile, Yuto fell to a knee and clenched his own chest.

"I know things aren't exactly good between us right now...but I'm counting on you...we all are...so give him hell."

"Yuto...!" Yuya uttered in a surprised tone. After collecting his thoughts, the red and green-haired boy turned around and walked away from his counterpart.

Now wasn't the time for forgiveness or reconciliation, both of them knew that. But what Yuya could do is get revenge.

Revenge for frying Yuto's brain via electricity.

Revenge for hunting Yuzu and Serena.

Revenge for making Crow, Yugo, and Rin's lives miserable.

Revenge for imprisoning himself and his other comrades.

Revenge for Tsukikage and Jack.

Without turning around, Yuya raised one arm to the side and gave Yuto a thumbs up.

"...Leave it to me."

Back in the present, Yuto coughed as his skin became paler.

"Yuto, hold on!" Ruri shouted in concern, taking the boys head and placing it in her lap.

"What's going on with you?!" Shun shouted, already figuring out that his friend knew what this was due to his calm demeanor.

"This is just me...giving us a fighting chance..." Yuto weakly told his friend before turning his head to look at Roget. 'You tortured and controlled me like a pawn...and for that, I'm paying you back by unleashing the monster that is...Yuya Sakaki!'

"...You've used violent dueling as a way to control the people of this city...you've imprisoned, tortured, manipulated, hunted, and even executed my friends...and now, you're trying to sacrifice innocent lives to get what you want...I'm at my limit with you..." Yuya slowly looked up, his menacing red eyes locking into his opponent. "...There's no way in hell I can let you get away with what you've done! No matter what it takes...I'm ending you here!"

"...Is he...berserk...?" Sawatari fearfully questioned.

"...No...whatever that presence was that takes over his body...I don't feel it right now...so this is all him...!" Yuzu answered in concern, watching in concern as Yuya murderously glared at his opponent.

"The damage he's taken...it's taking its toll on his mind...!" Gongenzaka noted as sweat formed on his face.

"C'mon kid...please hold it together..." Crow prayed.

"I'm curious to see if your body can even hold out for another turn. I set a card facedown, turn end." Roget concluded.

Yuya's eyes radiated pure determination as he drew. The boy looked at his hand of three cards before looking up at his opponent. "Sky Iris' effect...I destroy Bubulldog to add Entermate Odd Eyes Light Phoenix from my deck to my hand. Next, I activate the Spell Card, Scale Up! Entermate Odd Eyes Clear Magician's scale value is increased by 2!"

"That card...!" Yuzu gasped, as she too used the same card in the final turn against the Black Rose Witch.

"One last light show, eh?" Roget smirked.

"By shuffling all cards in my Pendulum Zones into my deck, I can set a different Pendulum Monster from my faceup Extra Deck or graveyard into an empty Pendulum Zone! I choose...Nirvana High Paladin!" Yuya shouted, causing the blonde man to audibly gasp.

"He's going to use Nirvana High Paladin's Pendulum Effect to weaken Roget's monster again!" Serena realized.

"And since Zero Genesis' ATK boost is determined by the ATKs of the other monsters he controls, it'll end up dropping to 0!" Crow grinned.

"Yuya's won...!" Reira smiled.

"Trap Activate...Infinite Reverse!"

Suddenly, a gigantic storm of red electricity filled the field, causing Yuya to brace himself.

"What the hell is this?!" Shun shouted as he clutched his barely conscious best friend.

Suddenly, the red electricity surged through the monsters on Yuya's field, causing them to lose their color.

"N-No!" Yuya's eyes widened in fear.

"Infinity Reverse's effect. While I control a Machine Emperor, I can activate this card during the opponent's Main Phase. All cards the opponent currently controls have their effects negated. Also, any monsters that are currently on the field cannot attack." Roget explained, grinning from ear to ear.

"You...stopped my one chance...!"

Yuya fell to his knees. He balled his fist and struck the ground, causing everyone to look on in fear.

"Yuya..." Yuzu uttered with tears in her eyes.

"It can't be over...!" Crow shook his head in disbelief.

"Your fate was decided the moment you challenged me." Roget coldly spoke, looking down at the Yuya, who had begun to hyperventilate as his heart device blinked.

Yugo had given this duel everything he had to protect his home.

Yuto had given Yuya the chance to get back into the duel and save everyone.

And yet, just like in every other important duel...

"...I'm going to lose..."

"You don't have to."

Yuya looked up, and he was no longer in Roget's labratory.

Once again, he was in that accursed black void with someone waiting for him.

"It's been a while." The black spiky-haired shadow with golden-yellow eyes spoke.

"You...!" Yuya grunted.

"You know, I don't think I've spoken to the other ones as much as I've spoken to you. In fact, I don't think I've helped them nearly as much as I helped you. And yet, that's the tone I'm greeted with? You really are a brat."

"You keep manipulating me...first you caused Yuto and Yugo to get hurt when I used those dragons against Sergey...and then you showed me all those dark memories I tried to forget during my duel with Barrett..."

"Manipulate you? No, I saved you. I'm the reason you weren't thrown off the track by that cyborg monstrosity. I'm the reason you weren't turned into a card by that one-eyed follower of that bastard..." The shadow's voice deepened as he spoke that last part. "And now, offering my service to you yet again."

"I don't need-"

"Yes. You. Do."

The shadow closed the distance between itself and Yuya in an instant, appearing right in front of the boy and menacingly staring into his soul.

"...I don't want your power...not if it hurts the people I care about...not if it compromises who am I!" Yuya growled in anger, staring into the souless golden eyes of the ghost.

"So, what will you do then? Enlighten me on how you're going to achieve victory."

Yuya looked away, not being able to say anything.

"That's what I thought." The shadow circled around Yuya and place its hand on the boy's shoulder. "Look, if you don't win, that'd make things pretty bad for not only us, but for your friends and everyone else in this dimension. Are you truly willing to let them all suffer?"

Yuya clenched the sides of his head as thoughts flooded his brain. If he lost...

Serena and Sora would never get the chance to make up for being apart of Academia...

Yuzu, Gongenzaka, and everyone else from Standard would never see their families again...

Yuto, Shun, and Ruri would never get to save their dimension...

Crow, Yugo, and Rin's home would be destroyed and Crow's kids wouldn't survive...

"I...I want to use my own power to save them..."

"Your power? HAHAHAHA! I'm offended!What power do you have that doesn't derive from me? Even your Pendulum Summoning, which you claim to have created yourself, was only made possible because I willed it, not you."

"You...created Pendulum...!" Yuya trailed off lowering his head.

For a while now, Yuya had assumed the mysterious power that dwelled within him was the reason he gained Pendulum Summoning in that moment. But to learn that the weapon he used to spread his ideals was created by the embodiment of darkness that stood before him...it was too much.

"You can't do anything on your own, brat. Now, take my hand and let us attain a power greater than we've ever imagined!"

The shadow extended its hand out to Yuya, who stared in contemplation while sweat dripped down his face.

"...No." Yuya coldly declared, clenching his blue pendulum. "Even if Pendulum Summoning was created because of you, it's still something that I've used to evolve into the duelist...the person I am today. I won't let you take that away from me!"

The pendulum began to glow, responding to Yuya's emotions.

"With this power, I'll continue to grow into a duelist capable of winning...without having to rely on you!" Yuya roared, pointing at the shadow.

"...Then by all means...show me what you can do, Yuya Sakaki." The shadow said in a somewhat intrigued tone as the blue light from Yuya's pendulum engulfed the void.

"...Odd Eyes Release Draw's effect in the graveyard activates! By banishing this card and Entermate Odd Eyes Metal Claw, I draw two cards!" Yuya shouted after regaining his senses.

"That card!" Yuzu shouted, her despair shifting to hopefulness before anyone else.

"I activate the Spell Card, Extreme Draw! By destroying all five of my monsters, I can draw two cards!"

One by one, Yuya's greyed out monsters bursted into particles that flew into his deck.

"This draw...will decide my fate...Yugo's fate...my friends' fates...this city's fates...and your fate..." Yuya lowly spoke, glaring at Roget with a hint of golden glow in eyes while his deck shined. "For the sake of everything I've fought for...I'll continue to change and grow...until I'm a duelist who can can accomplish my goal. I will ending the cycle of violence that dueling has become a slave to! DRAWWW!!!!"

A red streak of light filled the air as Yuya drew, holding the two cards out with a smile on his face. Without hesitation, Yuya placed the two cards in his hand before grabbing the card he had drawn previously.

"With the Scale 8 Odd Eyes Arc Pendulum Dragon, I set the Pendulum Scale!"

Arc 8 - 8 Nirvana

"Wait...they're both Scale 8...?" Masumi said in confusion.

"Quick Play Spell, One More Swing, activate! By sending three Level 5 or higher Pendulum Monsters from my face up Extra Deck to the graveyard, I can Pendulum Summon once again!"

"Another Pendulum Summon?!" Sawatari shouted in shock.

"I send Entermate Classikuriboh, Entermate Bubbulldog, and Supreme King White Dragon - Odd Eyes Wing Dragon to my graveyard!" Yuya showed his opponent the three cards.

"Are you blind, brat?! Both of the monsters in your Pendulum Zone are Scale 8, so you can't summon a thing!" Roget maliciously shouted.

"Normally, you'd be right. But as the creator of Pendulum, I'm the one who will trancend the limitations set upon it! While I have two monsters in my Pendulum Zones and Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon is face up in my Extra Deck, I can Pendulum Summon this card ignoring the scale values of the monsters in my Pendulum Zones!" Yuya explained, raising his hand up to the sky.

"...What?!"

"Swing, pendulum of my soul! More vividly, more fiercely, go beyond the limits and extend an arc of light across the sky towards the glorious, shinning future!"

The pendulum in the sky drew multiple arcs beyond the columns of light that contained Odd Eyes Arc Pendulum Dragon and Nirvana High Paladin. The pendulum's regular blue hue was replaced with a multi-colored light, making the arcs it created with each swing resemble an aurora.

"OVERSCALE PENDULUM!!!"

A portal opened up between the various arc, with a single dragon-shaped streak of colorful light exiting from within. The beam of light flew all around the field before majestically slamming against the ground in front of Yuya.

"Break free from the darkness and bring forth hope with those everchanging dichromatic eyes! Level 8! Wonder Eyes Pendulum Dragon!"

An evolved version of the red dragon arrived on the scene with traces of glittering golden scales across its body. Its horns and wings resembled that of Odd Eyes Advance Dragon, except its wings were made of burning golden light. The dragon's irises and the orb on its chest were now all the colors of the visible color spectrum, constantly shifting like a kaleidoscope.

Wonder Eyes Pendulum Dragon (3000/2500) LVL:8 PS:0

"So this is his dragon's true evolution!" Gongenzaka joyously shouted.

"He evolved Pendulum Summoning to this extent..." Sawatari uttered in awe.

"Yuya...you're amazing...!" Yuzu smiled bright.

"BATTLE!" Yuya declared, clenching his fist and thrusting it through the air. "Wonder Eyes Pendulum Dragon, attack Entermate Gatlinghoul!"

The dragon flapped its wings of light, taking to the air and soaring towards the minigun-wielding fiend. The fiend tried firing a barrage of yellow bullets to keep the dragon at bay, but they merely bounced Wonder Eyes. The golden and red dragon swooped down, slicing the fiend in half with its tail.

"Since Entermate Gatlinghoul was destroyed, your monster loses 2900 ATK!" Yuya shouted.

Zero Genesis (11900/3000)-(9000/3000)

"Wonder Eyes Pendulum Dragon's effect activates! After this card battles a Level/Rank 5 or higher monster, I can target an Odd Eyes Pendulum Monster face up in my Extra Deck and you take damage equal to its ATK! I target Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon to the graveyard, meaning you take 2500 damage!"

The golden spirit of Yuya's ace appeared behind Wonder Eyes briefly before being absorbed into the dragon, causing the orbs along its body to shine bright.

"Rememberance Force!"

The dragon roared as it fired a multicolored beam from its dichromatic eyes which slammed into Roget.

"That was your grand plan? 9000 ATK is still more than enough to wipe you off the face of the-"

"I'm not finished." Yuya smirked, causing Roget's eyes to twitch. "Wonder Eyes Pendulum Dragon...can attack every monster on the opponent's field!"

"...Eh?" Roget croaked out, his throat closing up.

"Wonder Eyes, attack Odd Eyes Extinction Dragon!"

The two dragons flew at eachother at incredibly high speeds. Extinction Dragon was much faster, allowing it to land several hits on the gold and red dragon. However, Wonder Eyes eventually caught the dragon with its claws and dove down, smashing it into particles against the concrete.

"Now Zero Genesis loses 3000 more ATK!" Rin gasped.

Zero Genesis (9000/3000)-(6000/3000)

"And that's not all..." Reira trailed off.

"Wonder Eyes' effect! I can target an Odd Eyes Pendulum Monster in my Extra Deck and you take damage equal to its ATK! However, I can't target the same card more than once during the same turn. So this time, I target Entermate Odd Eyes Light Phoenix! Therefore, you take 2000 damage! Rememberance Force!"

The golden spirit of the phoenix materialized behind Wonder Eyes before being absorbed into the dragon, who then fired another multicolored blast from its eyes at Roget.

"It's over!" Sawatari grinned.

"Go, Yuya!" Gongenzaka roared.

"YOU INSOLANT LITTLE BRAT!" Roget's screamed, completely losing composure. His face was red with rage as veins popped out of his skull. "Infinity Regeneration's effect in my graveyard activates! When I would take damage that's greater than my life points while I control a I can banish this card to reduce that damage to 0!"

A barrier formed around the Director at the last second, deflecting the eye beams.

"Then, I gain life points equal to half of Zero Genesis' ATK!"

ROGET: 1425-4425 LP

"No way..." Ruri uttered in disbelief.

"So you still had one last trick left..." Yuya wiped the sweat off his chin as everyone watched looked on at the boy in worry. "...We can still keep fighting, Wonder Eyes! Let's go!"

Yuya put his goggles over his eyes and ran towards his dragon, jumping on its back.

"Wonder Eyes, attack Odd Eyes Raging Dragon!"

The dragon let out an earth-shaking roar before cocking its head back, charging a colorful blast of flames in its mouth.

"Transcendent Strike Flame!"

With a furious battle cry, the dragon whipped its head forward, firing the rainbow colored-stream of spiraling flames at the hybrid dragon. In response, Raging Dragon fired its signature blast of azure and red flames, causing a beam struggle to occur only for a moment.

The ground shook as the blasts raged against eachother, but the rainbow flames proved to be too strong for the hybrid dragon. Wonder Eyes let out another roar as its blast consumed Raging Dragon.

Zero Genesis (6000/3000)-(3000/3000)

"Wonder Eyes' effect! By targeting Supreme King Black Dragon - Odd Eyes Rebellion, you take 3000 damage! Rememberance Force!"

The golden spirit of the black hybrid dragon appeared behind Wonder Eyes before being absorbed into the dragon, who fired another beautiful multicolored eye beam that slammed into Roget.

ROGET: 4425-1425 LP

"Wonder Eyes and Zero Genesis have the same ATK. If you go for mutual destruction, you won't be able to apply your monster's effect to inflict damage to me!" Roget shouted as he got off the ground.

"H-He's right." Serena realized with a shaky voice.

"And with Yugo knocked out, Roget's turn will be next..." Masumi's eyes widened in fear.

"You tried so hard, but everything fell into my calculations. This is checkmate!" Roget sneered.

"You're right, Roget..." Yuya solemnly spoke, causing everyone to gasp. The boy lips then curled into a small smile, unnerving the blond man. "...this is checkmate. Wonder Eyes, attack Zero Genesis! Transcendent Strike Flame!"

"Counterattack! FINAL REVERSE!"

As the colorful stream of spiraling flames collided with the mech, the pillars of red, blue, and yellow light shot out of the ground and consumed the evolved Pendulum Dragon. Yuya was sent flying off his dragons back as it was destroyed.

"YUYA!!!" Yuzu and Serena cried.

While descending towards the ground, Yuya began to smirk. He began doing several flips and turns through the air as if he was Entertainment Dueling. Suddenly, a blue portal materialzed behind him and a white blur sped out of it, flying between the ground and Yuya. The boy landed on its back before it took to the sky.

"No way..." Crow uttered in astonishment.

"It can't be..." Sawatari previously fearful expression shifted into a joyous one.

"That's...!" Rin gasped with stars in her eyes.

"The very card that represents the bond between Yugo and I, Odd Eyes Wing Dragon!"

"I-I don't understand...how is that monster here...?" Roget's voice trembled as he spoke.

"Wonder Eyes Pendulum Dragon is treated as an Odd Eyes monster while on the field. And since an Odd Eyes monster was destroyed, Odd Eyes Arc Pendulum Dragon's Pendulum Efffect activated, allowing me to special summon an Odd Eyes monster from my hand, deck, or graveyard." Yuya explained with a smirk while pointing to the alternate form of his ace.

"No...this isn't right...I can't lose...I planned for everything...this deck is percect...and yet...!" Roget crazily muttered while grabbing his hair.

"What now?" Yuya asked, looking down at Roget on the back of the white hybrid dragon. "No more devious plans? No more canniving insults? No more cards to play?"

As Yuya spoke, his dragon menacingly floated towards Roget. In fear, he began taking steps back.

"It's because of you that we've all suffered through hell."

"Get the hell back!"

"You forced me to bloody my hands. You changed me."

"D-Don't come any closer!"

"If I had faced you as the person I was before coming to this dimension, the outcome would have been entirely different. Your schemes and deceit have shaped me into what I am now."

"P-Please...don't do this!"

"Thanks for turning me into a version of myself that's capable of defeating you."

"No-"

Roget's back hit the energy barrier protecting the Zero Reverse machine.

"There's no where left to run, Roget." Yuya glared at the man, his glowing red eyes shinning through his goggles. "Odd Eyes Wing Dragon...end this duel. STORMING ATTACK - STRIKE SLASHER!"

Igniting in blue energy, the dragon blitzed Roget, shattering his duel disk. The barrier behind him dispersed and the dragon continued flying forward until it collided with the machine, causing a powerful explosion.

ROGET: 1425-0 LP

WINNER: YUYA / YUGO!

As Yuya jumped off his dragon, he couldn't help but breathe heavily as he looked at the wrecked machine and the unconscious man several feet in front of it.

Realizing what had been accomplished with this victory, an intense rush overcame Yuya.

The boy clenched both of his fists and took in a large amount of air before letting his emotions out.

"...YEAHHHH!!!!"

Yuzu took Reira's hand and jumped with joy.

Sora latched onto Gongenzaka's back.

Masumi hugged a blushing Sawatari.

Yaiba, Hokuto and Roy put their arms around eachothers shoulders.

Shun and Ruri held Yuto up, who had a small smile on his face.

From the control room, Reiji watched with a seemingly proud smirk on his face.

With the duel concluding, the two heart devices detached from the boys' chests. And with the barrier now gone, Crow and Serena were free to run up to Yuya.

"Yuya, are you ok?!" Crow questioned, touching the boy's pale forehead with a worried looking on his face.

Yuya didn't respond. His eyes were still locked on the defeated man several feet in front of him.

"...I-I finally...won..."

He had crushed the man who ruined so many lives and killed his comrades. As he thought about everything the man had done, and what his victory meant, his body began to tingle.

Against Yuto and Reiji back in Standard and Yugo during the Friendship Cup, the duels he was at his best and where winning was important were always the duels where he came up short.

But not this time.

His eyes softly glowed and his grin widened.

"This feeling...its amazing...!"

"Y-Yuya?"

As Serena took off the Yuya's goggles, he snapped back to reality.

"S-Sorry. Thanks for checking on me. I'll be fine." Yuya gave a reassuring smile.

"I'm glad. Way to give him hell out there." Serena responded with a smile of her own, holding up her fist. Yuya nodded and the two shared a spirited fist bump.

Crow put his hands on the two teens shoulders and pulled them close.

"I'm so happy you're both ok...I love you guys..." Crow voice cracked as tears fell from his eyes.

"Crow..." Yuya uttered, feeling a sharp pain in his chest as he thought about Jack's death and how it was affecting his friend.

The three shared a brief group hug before they heard the voice of Rin.

"Yugo, wake up!"

Yuya whipped his head around at the sight of Rin holding Yugo in her arms with the other Lancers surrounding them.

"Yugo..." Yuya uttered in horror as he made his way over to his counterpart.

"Please wake up..." Yuzu cupped her hands around her face while tears fell from her eyes.

"D-Damn it..." Shun stuttered in frustration with both of his fists clenched.

"Please...you're all I have in this world...I can't lose you...I can't..." Rin hugged the unconscious boy, tears falling from her face onto Yugo's. She then burried her face into Yugo's chest, refusing to let go of him.

"Wow...I always thought you were too tough to cry, Rin..."

Hearing that voice, Rin jolted away from the boys chest with rosy cheeks. Yugo looked up at her with tired eyes and a soft smile.

"...I'll always be here. Always."

"Y-You idiot...don't scare me like that again, unless you want a knee to the stomach." Rin grumbled before hugging the boy.

"Duly noted..." Yugo sighed, hugging the girl back, hiding his blushing the best he could. After the two separated, the boy turned to his Standard Counterpart. "You saved my home, Yuya. I don't think I'll ever be able to repay you for that."

"And you'll never have to. Let's just keep fighting together." Yuya grinned, holding out his hand.

The Lancers watched with smiles on their faces as Yugo and Yuya shook hands.

"It's over..." Yuzu said in relief, closing her eyes and letting out a deep exhale. After a few moments, she began feeling pressure against her shoulder. When she opened her eyes to see what it was, her face became red as it was none other than her exhausted boyfriend.

"Yuzu...I really want to hug you, but my arms aren't responding to my brain anymore. Aaaand neither are my legs now."

Yuya began to slip, but Yuzu caught him with a smile on her face.

"Yuya Sakaki, you really are something else."

"You aren't too bad yourself, Yuzu Hiragi."

As Yuzu held Yuya, the two shared a brief kiss before separating.

"I knew you'd be ok." Yuya gave a warm smile.

"And I knew you'd save the day." Yuzu said with a soft giggle.

Yuzu helped Yuya back to his feet before Sora jumped up and wrapped his arms around their shoulders.

"Get a room, you two!" Sora grinned.

"S-Sora!" Yuya yelled while Yuzu giggled.

The three felt a pair of strong arms wrap around them, lifting the trio up in the air.

"I, the man Gongenzaka, am so happy and relieved to be together with you guys after all this time!" Gongenzaka began to shed comedic tears, causing Yuya and Yuzu to laugh.

"Gongenzaka..." Sora trailed off in an emotional tone. "...Well it started with us four, after all. Now that we're together again, nothing can tear us apart!"

"Yeah!" Yuya and Yuzu smiled bright.

Before Rin could help Yugo off the ground, Shun extended a hand to the boy.

"Kurosaki...!" Yugo uttered in a suprised tone.

"It's Shun." The older teen sternly corrected.

"Right...Shun." Yugo nodded, accepting his comrade's hand.

"Yugo, watching you and Yuzu grow throughout our time here...it's been interesting. I'm glad to have been placed on your team." Shun said with a slight smile, shocking Yugo.

The boy's mind flashed back to the first time the two met at Yuya's house, when Yugo hid behind Yuzu in fear after Shun said he'd kill him if ever he tried to hurt Yuto again.

"The two of us really have come a long way. I couldn't imagine teaming up with anyone else. Thanks for helping me make my dream a reality, Shun." Yugo grinned. The older teen nodd and the two shared a fist bump.

"Yugo."

The young king turned around to see Yuto standing behind him. The two stared at eachother for a few seconds, although to them it felt like an eternity. Seeing the two needed some space, Shun walked away.

"I-"

Both began to speak at the same time before pausing.

"You first." Yugo told his counterpart.

"...As for what I said about your desire to become king despite everything going on...I misjudged your motivation. During your duel with Yuya, I saw the desperation in you towards the beginning of the duel...it was just like my desperation to save Ruri. And when you told Yuya that you had to win because you'd have no family or friends to return to after the Dimensional War while everyone else did...I understood your pain."

"But our motivations don't negate our actions, right?" Yugo said, causing Yuto to gulp.

"...That's right." Yuto nodded.

"...You weren't wrong about what you said about me in the subway. I admit that I was acting selfishly back then. Up until my duel with Yuya, I only wanted to win the Friendship Cup to secure my future with Rin. That became my priority the second we got to this dimension." Yugo sternly spoke.

"But in the end, that drive led you to becoming king, which greatly helps the Lancers' cause." Yuto pointed out.

"That may be so. But if I hadn't reformed my motivation, I would've been a selfish king that failed to unite the city, which could've made things even worse." Yugo countered.

"...So that's what makes us different." Yuto realized before looking down at the ground.

In all his actions, Yuto felt justified in all of them to an extent because everything he was doing was for someone else. Yugo was the same way, as all he wanted to do was focus on winning the Friendship Cup for the sake of himself and Rin. To both of them, their motivation justified their actions, even though those actions were seen as selfish by those around them.

However, Yugo was different now. Even though he felt justified in his actions because of his motivation, he was still able to recognize that he was being selfish. He was able to change his mindset and become a better person while still maintaining his goal.

So, what meant more, their motivations or actions?

"Yuto?" Yugo said in confusion, but Yuto simply shook his head.

"I don't regret doing everything in my power to save the person that means the most to me." Yuto glanced over to Ruri for a moment, who was chatting it up with Rin. "However...I shouldn't have been willing to jeopardize someone I care about. Yuzu didn't deserve that."

"Damn right I didn't!"

Suddenly, a fan smacked across the back of Yuto's head, causing Yugo to chuckle.

"Grr...!" Yuto lowered his head, causing darkness to cover his eyes.

"Hah! Not even someone as fast as you can dodge Yuzu's ferocious demon fan-"

Before Yugo could even finish his sentence, the fan slammed into the side of Yugo's face, causing him to fall over.

"H-Hey, what did I even do?!" Yugo asked as he sat on the ground.

"I don't like the words "ferocious" and "demon" being associated with me." Yuzu growled.

"You can't treat me like that anymore! I'm the king!" Yugo childishly yelled.

"Yeah, and I'm you're teammate who helped you become king, so you can't play that card on me!" Yuzu argued.

"Why you-"

"Heheheh..."

Yuzu and Yugo turned to Yuto, who had slightly laughed at their antics.

"It's been a while since I've heard you laugh like that, Yuto." Yuzu said with a smile.

"Yeah...well, there hasn't been much to laugh about lately..." Yuto trailed off in a dejected tone.

"Yuto...we're good." Yuzu said, surprising Yuto.

"But Yuzu, I-"

"Nothing happened. You just caught up in the moment because of you're desire to save Ruri. That's all." Yuzu said, extending her hand out to the boy. "I don't want to hold a grudge, especially with you. Not after you saved me back in Standard after I lost to Yuri. I'll never forget that, so I'm willing to look past this and move forward, ok?"

"...Ok. I'm glad to have you as a friend, Yuzu." Yuto said with a small smile as the two shook hands.

"Finally, the You Show Family is back in action!" Yugo grinned, placing his arms around the shoulders of Yuzu and Yuto.

"Guess so..." Yuto nodded while looking at Yuya and Serena from across the room.

"Yeah..." Yuzu halfheartedly agreed, looking at Serena.

Meanwhile, Aki had slowly made her way over to Roget, who was beginning to regain consciousness.

"...This is all...you're fault..." Roget growled at the woman who stood above him. "...If you had only just followed my orders...and captured Rin and Yuzu Hiragi with your powers...we could have used them as leverage against the Lancers and Academia...we could have won...!"

"Did you say..."we"...?" Aki asked in an irritated tone, looking down at the man with cold, empty eyes. "...There is no "we", Roget. There never was. You only ever used me as a tool, and those girls you wanted me to capture so badly were the ones who helped me see that I'm not a tool or a monster! I'm a person!"

Aki grabbed her ace monster, causing Black Rose Blooming Dragon to materialize. It menacingly hovered over Roget before holding him up in the air by his foot with a thorny vine.

"Roget, you're the reason so many terrible things have happened to the people of this dimension...you're the reason my family is gone...and for that...!" Aki looked up with hatred in her eyes.

"Aki, don't!" Serena grabbed the woman's arm, snapping her back to her senses. "Don't be the monster he created. Don't prove him right."

"I know...I'm ok..." Aki took a deep breath before turning back to Roget. "Like the new king said, we're going to put you in a cell so deep in the underground that you'll never see the light of day."

"That's what you get for doing everything you could to ruin out lives, bastard." Crow said, standing beside Aki. The woman looked at the orange-haired man and the two shared a nod before turning back to Roget.

"No...that won't happen...I refuse to let that happen...! COMPUTER, INITIATE FINAL PROTOCAL!"

Suddenly, the room began to shake below the Lancers. The floor in the center of the room opened up, revealing a smaller, similar machine compared to the one Yuya had destroyed.

"What the hell is-"

Crow's words were cut off as the machine became consumed by green energy, which fired a beam of light at the ceiling, spawning a giant rift that looked like a black hole.

"This machine was my last ditch effort in case I was ever cornered by Academia! Normally, this machine would create a rift that'd just send whoever went inside to a chosen dimension, but since I didn't get the chance to calibrate it...who knows where those sucked in will end up?! Probably in the space inbetween dimensions!"

A massive force of wind filled the room as black electricity cracked through the air, destroying the vine that held Roget by his foot. The rift began to suck everything towards it, causing everyone to panic.

"I won't let you! Destroy that machine, Black Rose!" Aki commanded while struggling to stay afoot.

Black Rose Blooming Dragon fired a blast of dark energy from its mouth at the machine. However, the surges of black electricity intercepted the attack and then oblierated dragon.

"No!" Aki cried out.

"HAHAHAHA! Let's all fall into the void and die together, Lancers!" Roget maniacally laughed.

"Bastard!" Yugo roared in anger as his and everyone elses' feet slid against the concrete towards the rift.

"It isn't their time to die yet, Roget!"

Bursting through the wall of the room, Infernity Chaos Void Dragon flew through the air with its owner on its back.

"Kiryu?!" Crow shouted in disbelief.

"Death God...!" Yuto uttered in shock.

Weaving through the bolts of black electricity, the dragon made its way towards the machine.

"What the hell are you doing, Kiryu Kyosuke?! Why are you trying to save them?!" Roget shouted in confusion.

As his dragon hovered above the machine, Kiryu looked at Crow with a slight smile.

"A long time ago, I made the promise to protect my people, no matter what it took. It's about time I followed through with that."

"Kiryu...you're going to...?!" Crow trailed off with tears in his eyes.

The grey-haired man took an envelop out of his pocket and threw it at a high enough velocity that it cut through the air and landed in Crow's hand. He then turned to his so-called successor.

"Young Death God...remember our duel and everything you said to me. Lets those words guide you towards the future and embrace your roll."

Although confused, Yuto understood the words spoken by Kiryu. The boy from Heartland nodded at the man from Neo Domino.

"With this...I'm finally satisfied...!" Kiryu closed his eyes as he somberly spoke.

"NOOOOOOO!!!"

Roget dove forward in a useless effort to stop what was about to happen. As he flung his body towards the machine, he was forced to watch as the Fusion Monster he had given Kiryu drove its claws into the machine.

"KIRYUUUU!!!" Crow cried out as everyone was blinded by the light.

Kiryu, who had a look of content and relief, and Roget, who had a look of terror and rage, were consumed by the explosion of black energy due to their proximity to the machine.

When the light dissipated, the black hole was no longer there and both men were nowhere to be seen, causing Crow to drop to his knees.

"I lost...them both..." Crow looked at the envelop in his hand as tears fell down his face.

"Crow..." Yuya uttered, kneeling down to his teammate and hugging him.

"I'm so sorry, Crow." Serena sorrowfully spoke as she joined the hug.

Meanwhile, Yuto stared on in disbelief, thinking back to that last conversation.

"I wanted to have one last duel where I could enjoy myself before I..."

"Before what? What're you planning to do?"

"...Nothing of consequence. Regardless, I had to make sure my predecessor was ready for the trials that come ahead."

"I still don't really understand what a Death God is...but...if I'm destined to control death, doesn't that also mean I'll determine who doesn't die?"

"That all depends on your intentions."

"He...was already planning on turning Roget back then..." Yuto realized, placing his hand in his pocket and feeling the thing the Death God had given him after their duel.

"Roget...he really got the easy way out...!" Yuya growled in anger.

"It's ok, Yuya." Yuzu placed her hand on the boy's shoulder. "In the end, we're all safe and Roget's plans were stopped. It's over."

"...Yeah. We've finally-"

A storm of wind surged through the room once more as a smaller green rift spawned, sucking everyone in the room towards it. Yuya watched in horror as his friends and allies began to float up towards the rift.

"AAAAAH!" Yuzu screamed as she was drawn in.

"YUZU!!!" Yuya cried as he lept upwards, reaching out for the girl.

As the two's hands drew closer, they entered the rift, and everything went black.

One week later...

Reiji Akaba had been hard at work after the final battle for Neo Domino City and the Synchro Dimension as a whole.

Due to the access amount of dimensional energy that was released from Roget's machines being destroyed, a dimensional rift had opened up and sucked his allies inside. But through some analysis, it appeared that this rift was different then the black hole Roget opened up with his second device, which Kiryu Kyosuke sacrificed himself to destroy. Meaning, they had most likely ended up in another dimension.

The Council had been requested to step down by the people of the Synchro Dimension, which they agreed to do after also being swayed by Yugo's battles with Yuya and Jack.

Tetsu Ushio had taken on the role as Director of Security, as he proved himself when he left Roget's side and helped the Lancers during the final hour. However, the majority of Officers had either quit or were forced to seek medical treatment due to the chips Roget had placed in their helmets.

In order to counteract the lack of officers and show unity between Tops and Commons, Ushio thought it'd be a good idea to have Shinji Weber and some of the members of his revolution join their ranks. To honor Yugo's wishes for peace and to support Crow's three kids that he'd been taking care of in his absense, Shinji agreed to Ushio's idea.

Although things were still not perfect between the two populations of Neo Domino City, both parties were taking steps towards a new age.

Presently, Reiji Akaba found himself in Roget's previous office, going through all of the man's files, which contained classified information about Academia. With this, Reiji could begin formulating a plan of attack once he had gathered all of his comrades from wherever they ended up. As he was scanning through the files, his eyes narrowed as he came across a folder called "Revival Zero".

When Reiji clicked on the file, images of Yuya, Yuto, Yugo, and Yuri appeared on one side while pictures of Yuzu, Ruri, Rin, and Serena appeared on the other side of the screen. He began to read what was written in the file, causing his normally stoic eyes to widen in shock.

"...I had a sister...?!"

Hope you all enjoyed my attempt at rewriting the Synchro Arc to my own taste, I know it took literal years to get out, but I'm happy with how it all turned out none the less.

This duel was one of the most fun duels I've done from a writing standpoint. Having the two Yu-boys go all out together was certainly fun to plan. And that final turn with Yuya might be my favorite final turn I've ever done. Man, what a ride. Shout out to BladeWriter3 for Wonder Eyes Pendulum Dragon.

White: If any of the ygo series were gonna be dark, it should've been the one about a literal war. Glad to here you enjoyed the interactions and duels this chapter. I've definitely thought about hybrid dragons for the others boys. But, for example, if I were to make a Clear Wing Rebellion Dragon or Dark Rebellion Wing Dragon, I wouldn't make it an Xyz/Synchro monster, probably just an Xyz or Synchro monster. Same goes for any other combination not involving Odd Eyes, as then it'd be a pendulum / whatever other summoning method.

bladeWriter3: Rin is canonically a street brawler in this fic and nothing can change my mind. And yup, the writers definitely screwed up the timeline of events, but these are the Arc-V writers we're talking about, so can we even be surprised? Also, fixed the lack of a field spell in Aki's final turn, thanks for the reminder. Glad you and other readers like Crystal Rose being used in the final turn, really felt good about that when I came up with it. And surpise, I didn't end up splitting this up into two chapters!

charly12: Glad you liked Rin's reasoning when it came to using Fusion. And yeah, as we kinda already see, Yugo's role of king was further thrusted upon him after Jack's failure to win, causing the boy to take things really serious.

Guest: Yuri will definitely be present in the next arc, though he won't be the antagonist.

Danger: I use the anime effects because this is a rewrite of the anime, so I rather use the effects intended for it. Although, there are times I make exceptions. We'll see more of Yusho's squad soon!

T.V. 2000: I feel like its often forgotten how many innocents Shun killed, so I thought it was appropriate to bring up, especially when most of the cast don't totally trust Sora. Ruri and Serena coulda had a peak intercation in the anime, but the writers didn't think so I guess. Glad you enjoyed the chapter, thanks for the kind words!
