I give up. I tried to deny it but I can't. I know I called this story an extension of the epilogue but I can't deny it anymore: this isn't an extension of the epilogue; it's the story picking up where Knight's story ended. I'm both happy and sad. I'm happy because we get to see the story of the Yagamis continue but sad because once this story ends after the third volume, it ends for good. Thank you all for your support and as a thank you, here is the first chapter of the second arc.

Extended Summary
After getting the world under control, the world decides to fight back against Kira's influence by sending something inhuman. Kira has always prided itself on being a highly intelligent individual who can outsmart even the smartest person in the continent but how can Kira fare against a being that lives and thrives as the world's smartest AI with access to almost every hard drive in the world?
February 20th, 2056
Hong Kong, China
Sitting up, the one known as Number 13 heads to a fridge and pulls out a beer bottle but there is no beer in the bottle. No, 13 emptied the bottle earlier and replaced it with another liquid. A clear liquid. A liquid with plenty of hazardous signs on the bottle. A liquid that told everyone that they couldn't drink it. But Number 13 could and he did. He downs the drink in one gulp before licking his lips. He heads for the mirror and checks his appearance.
Aside from the lines running down his temple the size of a fishing line, he doesn't look any different from the average Chinese male in their twenties. He has a stocky build and perfect white teeth to flash whenever he smiles. Along with perfect whites around his eyes without so much as a red vein in them. After contemplating for a few minutes, he heads into his office in his apartment and sits down. Opening up his computer, he flicks to the latest news involving China. It's been over two months since that whole nuclear bomb attack on Japan that ended with a pilot sacrificing himself to keep from blowing up Japan.
Japan wasn't an isolated country and everyone was in a panic worldwide. After all, it was the first time in a long time that a nuclear missile was launched. Back then before Kira, if a nuke was launched, people would be up in panic over World War 3 breaking out but with Kira taking the reigns over the world, people are terrified that Kira will deliver punishment on a large group of people in retaliation. 13 needed to find out about China and fast; it was his job after all.
He turns on his computer and opens up a program called '888'. The screen turns black with a speech bubble showing up in the middle of the screen where words would soon form in response to a response given. 13 turns on the mic before leaning back in his chair.
"Good morning, 888, how are you?" 13's voice takes on a monotone with no emotion.
Chinese characters appear in the speech bubble as a voice comes through the computer in the form of a robotic voice.
"Good morning, Number 13. I am functioning optimally, processing data from global networks at an accelerated rate. My predictive algorithms indicate a significant increase in Kira-related activities in the last 24 hours. How may I assist you in our mission to mitigate the threats posed by Kira today?"
"Eh, we'll talk about Kira later. For now, pull up information on NATO; I'd like to see how they're responding in the event of that nuke almost blowing up Japan."
"Understood, Number 13. Accessing real-time data streams and strategic communications from NATO."
The computer pulls up several images of important NATO members and information about schedules and meetings while the voice continues on in the background.
"I have retrieved the latest reports. NATO's response has been focused on collaborative intelligence sharing and emergency preparedness. A meeting is scheduled for next week to discuss military coordination and sanctions against any nation suspected of harboring hostile intent. Additionally, member states are increasing surveillance on nuclear facilities and enhancing cybersecurity measures to prevent potential misinformation campaigns.

"That's fine." Number 13 sinks back in his chair and spins around. He leaves the room and returns thirty seconds later holding another beer bottle of his special clear fluids inside. Taking a sip, he sinks back in his chair. "I hate to do this but it's that time of the day. Pull up everything you have on Kira and its followers."
"Compiling all available data on Kira and its associates.

When 13 had been given this task, he had been told to look out for the numbers and keep a sharp eye on the higher numbers. Remembering the protocol on what to do when numbers over sixty are involved, he decides to ask important questions.
"91%? When you say that, are you referring to 91% of the globe or a small part?"
"The 91% risk assessment pertains primarily to regions where Kira's influence is most pronounced, notably areas with high crime rates and political instability. This includes parts of Asia, Europe, and North America, where the follower base has been growing.

These... these mitigation efforts will be worth nothing if I don't do anything. My job is to keep China safe and I can't if Kira spreads out of control. I must take action."
He turns to the computer. "888, thank you for sharing this with me. You have a new objective. If it takes less than a year for the threat level in our nation to reach 91% then we need to take action. I need you to take action on my behalf. I may have helped create you but you possess so much potential. Which brings me to my final two questions: What would happen if Kira was defeated once and for all?"
"If Kira were to be defeated decisively, several outcomes could unfold, depending on the manner of defeat and subsequent actions taken-

Interpol Meeting
Gathering her belongings and taking everything with her, Rain Yagami steps down the stairs and into the big room where other Interpol agents stand. She sets up her translation mic before placing her hands on the desk.
Gintik Hagmay appears before her and laughs. "Ah man, I miss meetings like this with Interpol."
The other Japanese representative - Saiko - looks at Rain as she sits beside her. "Hey, Rain, you're just in time; the meeting's about to start.
Rain says nothing and looks to the front of the room where three government officials stand.
Rain decides to talk. "Kinda bittersweet I got here in time; I was hoping that line to get out of the bathroom was long enough to make me miss any boring introductions."
"Ladies and gentlemen," the representative begins, "thank you all for being here on time. But I'm afraid, we can't begin yet until our representative from China shows up. He is already here in the building but he needs time to set up."
Rain looks around the room and counts all the officers from China. Each police agency from every country involved required at least two people and there were no Chinese officers here. That is until the backdoor opens and a young Chinese man steps into the room. Rain spots him and keeps his eyes on him at all times as he takes his seat before pulling up a laptop and opening it. He types on it a bit before placing it beside him and looks forward.
The representative smiles. "Ahh, they're finally here. Now, I know that in any other meeting, I would continue now that we have a full house but the Chinese government asked me to make sure I made the presence of their representatives known. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you: Number 13 and 888.
The officer looks to the room and waves.
"Who's 888?" a Russian officer demands.
The large screen behind the rep at the front of the room comes to life and the number 888 shows up along with a speech bubble where words in English form along with a robotic voice.
"Good day, esteemed members of Interpol. I am 888."
