Chapter 2: North Atlantic Kingdom

Picking up a week or 2 and a few days, after the last chapter. We currently find Inko, Izuku, and the unknown mermaid. Making their way through the ocean towards the North Atlantic Mermaid Kingdom. Because Inko and Izuku were riding on a whale for the trip to the kingdom. While the mermaid swam along side the whale. The reason behind, this was due to Inko, not being sure. If she and Izuku would be able to make the trip by swimming. Since they haven't swam with their tails, before the trip.

But, first, let's turn back the clock by about a week or 2.

(Flashback)

A week, before the trip. We find Inko and the unknown woman in the Midoriya's apartment. Sitting in the Midoriya's living room.

"First off. Here you are my princess." Said the unknown woman, as she handed Inko the pearl.

"Thank you," Inko said, as she opened her necklace and put the pearl in it. "By the way, I didn't get your name?

"My name is Natsumi. My princess." Said Natsumi, introducing herself with a bow.

"Well then. Thank you, Natsumi. For bringing me my pearl to me." Said Inko, once again thanking Natsumi for bringing her pearl to her. "Oh, and can you please drop the formal greeting, Inko will do." Since she was not used to being treated like royalty.

"By the way, where is your son? Since I was told you had 1 and I would like to meet him." Asked Natsumi, as she looked around the apartment. Hoping to find Izuku.

"He's most likely at the park, with his friends." Said Inko, thinking about where her son could be at the moment. "If you would like to meet him. We can go and pick him up." Inko added, if Natsumi wanted to go with her to pick him up.

When they heard the front door of the apartment open. Causing them to turn in the direction of the front door of the apartment. Only for them to see, Izuku walk in with scrapes and bruises.

"I just tripped and fell." Said Izuku, hoping Inko would believe him. As for Natsumi, she didn't believe him. Since the scrapes and bruises, didn't look like something, that simply tripping would cause.

"Okay then. Let's get you cleaned up." Said Inko, as she began to lead Izuku away to get him cleaned up.

"Inko. Before you go." Said Natsumi, from where she was sitting on the couch. As Inko turned to look at her. "Is it possible for us to talk about something? Later tonight, after Izuku has gone to bed."

"Sure thing. Natsumi." Said Inko, as she went back guiding Izuku to the bathroom to get him cleaned up.

Later that night, after Izuku had gone to bed. We currently find Inko and Natsumi in the living room of the apartment.

"So, what is it? That you wanted to talk about?" Asked Inko curious about what Natsumi wanted to ask.

"Inko. Let me be honest with you." Said Natsumi, wondering how to put it. "I believe someone is picking on Izuku." Causing Inko to gasp at the thought of someone picking on Izuku.

"Izuku..." Said Inko, as she thought, on the idea of someone attacking Izuku. When thought hit her. "How can you tell the difference between someone, who has tripped and someone has been attacked?" Inko asked with a bit of suspicion in her voice.

"The reason is, that I snuck out of the kingdom, and on to land a lot. When I was a teenager." Natsumi said, sheepishly. Trying to act nonchalant, about what she did as a teenager. While Inko only roll her eyes, at Natsumi's answer. "Can I also put something on the table? Like maybe taking some time away, from everything. Like visiting the North Atlantic Kingdom. Will give Izuku, either the confidence to tell you what's going on. Since you'll be needing to make a visit there anyway." Causing Inko to sigh and nod, in understanding. Since she would need to make the trip to the North Atlantic anyway. So, she would need to take Izuku along with her for the trip.

"I'll talk to Izuku tomorrow, about us taking a trip to the kingdom, with you. As a way for us to get away with everything." Said Inko, thinking on it.

"Take your time, we're in no rush, to get there." Said Natsumi, getting a nod from Inko.

"So..." Said Inko, after thinking that it was time for her to ask some questions of her own. "What sort of stuff, will I be doing? When I take the throne of North Atlantic?" A little curious about her duties outside of her just protecting the North Atlantic Ocean.

"Not much. Other than being there, for certain events and other royal duties. That require you having to be there.." Said Natsumi, as Inko nodded her head in understanding. "Though, we may have to do. Your Coming of Age Ceremony." Causing Inko to gain a confused look on her face, when she heard Natsumi mention the Coming of Age Ceremony.

"What is the Coming of Age Ceremony?" Said Inko, as she became a bit curious about the ceremony.

"We can worry about that. When we get to the castle." Said Natsumi, from where she was sitting. Hoping to avoid explaining the ceremony to Inko

"Okay then." Said Inko, since she was still curious about the Coming of Age Ceremony.

After that Inko and Natsumi continued talking for a while longer. Before they mutually agreed, that it was time for them to go to bed. After Inko had noticed the time.

The next morning, during breakfast. Inko told Izuku, during breakfast. That they would be going on a trip to the North Atlantic Mermaid Kingdom. In about a week or 2 and that they'll be gone for a few weeks. Which Izuku nodded, while Inko had noticed, that Izuku had perked up a bit.

From there, Inko went and filled out the paperwork needed to pull Izuku, from his elementary school for a few weeks. While Natsumi arranged some form of transport for the 3. Since she had a feeling, that it was going to be a difficult swim for Izuku and Inko. Since the 2 of them, had never actually tried swimming with their tails, before.

Eventually, the day came, for Izuku, Inko, and Natsumi's departure for the North Atlantic. Where the 3 went to the beach and dove into the ocean. Where Inko and Natsumi became mermaids. While Izuku became a merman.

From there, Natsumi helped Izuku and Inko, with learning how to swim with their tails. Until the 2 of them had the basics down. Since they were in deeper water for them to try swimming with their tails.

Once Inko and Izuku had the basics down. They headed started heading further out into the ocean. Where they met up with a whale. That Natsumi had arranged to help them get to the North Atlantic Mermaid Kingdom.

(End of Flashback)

Which lead back to where we currently find Inko, Izuku, and Natsumi. Along with a possible few days into the trip. Heading to the North Atlantic Mermaid Kingdom on the back of a whale. Making small talk along the way. Until Natsumi noticed, a green glow in the distance.

Then Natsumi gently petted the whale, in a way, as if asking the whale to stop. Once the whale had stopped, she turned to Inko and Izuku. "Inko, Izuku." Said Natsumi, as she called to the 2 of them. Which caused the 2 to look at Natsumi. "Do you see, that green glow in the distance?" Asked them, while pointing in the direction of the green glow.

"Yes, Natsumi. We see the green glow. Why are you asking us, if we can see it?" Said Inko, answering Natsumi's question, with a question of her own.

"It's because that green glow is the North Atlantic Mermaid Kingdom." Said Natsumi, causing the 2 perk up at the information, that they were almost at the castle. "So, just hang on for a bit longer." She called, back to the 2 of them. Which got a nod from Inko.

After finally reaching the castle. Which left Inko and Izuku even more speechless at the sight of the castle, as they got closer to the castle.

"Well. Here we are. The North Atlantic Kingdom." Said Natsumi, as she helped Inko and Izuku off the whale.

"It's breath taking. Even more so, when we're this close to it." Said Inko, as was staring in awe at the sight of the castle. While Izuku was doing the same thing.

"Just wait until you see the inside of the castle. It's even more breath taking." Said Natsumi, while Inko and Izuku stared at her. When she said that the inside was even more breath taking.

Before Natsumi turned to the whale and thanked it for the wonderful trip. After that, the whale swam off.

Then Natsumi turned to Inko and Izuku. "Now, then. Shall we go inside?" Asked Natsumi.

"Of course, Natsumi. Lead the way." Said Inko, as she, Izuku, and Natsumi swam into the castle.

Meanwhile in the castle of the North Atlantic. In the castle's festival hall. We currently find mermaids of the kingdom swimming about a random room decorating for Inko and Izuku's arrival.

"What do you think the new princess and her son are like?" Asked a random mermaid, who was currently working on a set of decorations, to the mermaid next to her.

"I do not know? All that I heard, from the last princess. Before she passed on. Was that the new princess is a descendant of a previous princess and her husband." Replied the other mermaid.

While 1 of the mermaids in the room, had left to go get something. From somewhere else in the castle.

Meanwhile back with Inko, Izuku, and Natsumi. After the 3 of them had swam into the castle. Inko and Izuku had once again become speechless at the sight of the inside of the castle. Though for Natsumi, she was currently expecting most of the kingdom to be there to greet them, as she looked around the room.

Eventually, Inko noticed, the way Natsumi had been acting. "Is something wrong, Natsumi?" Asked Inko, slightly worried from the way, that Natsumi was acting.

"I was expecting most of the kingdom, to be here to greet us. Since I said, that we were on our way." Said Natsumi, wondering where everyone was.

When Natsumi mentioned, that the castle was unusually quiet. Inko took notice of the silence as well and began wondering, where everyone was.

Before Inko thought of something. "Maybe they're in 1 rooms of the castles. Preparing something for our arrival." Said Inko, while Natsumi nodded her head in agreement.

Meanwhile, the mermaid, who had just left the festival hall to grab something. Had swam into the entrance hall. Where Natsumi, Inko and Izuku were in. She quickly took a look at the entrance of the castle. Only to quickly back pedal, out of view. Upon noticing Natsumi, with Inko and Izuku.

She quickly put her hands on the corner of the wall. Before she poked her head around the corner to get a better look at Natsumi, Inko, and Izuku. Only to move quickly out of sight. Unaware that Natsumi had noticed the mermaid out of the corner of her eye.

"Oh my god. Natsumi is back too soon. And we haven't finished preparing the welcome party for the princess and her son." The mermaid thought to herself, with her hands on her mouth. "I need to go and alert everyone. That they had arrived sooner, than expected."

Just as the mermaid was about to swim back to the room, where the mermaids were setting the party up. To let everyone know, that Natsumi is back, with the new princess and her son. "Who's over there?! Because I would like you to come out right now." Said Natsumi, in the direction of the mermaid. Causing the mermaid to freeze up. When she heard Natsumi call her out. With a sigh, the mermaid swam out of the hallway coming.

After the mermaid, swam up to the 3. All that Natsumi could say, was "Pearl?" sounding confused and surprised, upon seeing the mermaid swim up to the 3 of them. "What are you doing here? And where is everyone else?"

"Hello, Natsumi. How was the trip?" Said Natsumi, trying her best to hide, what everyone in the kingdom was up too.

"It was good." Said Natsumi, before her expression changed. "Though I would still like to know, where everyone is. Since I was expecting most of the kingdom to be here to greet us."

"Of course. We would forget to do something like this." Thought the Pearl, as she realized, that they had forgotten to put a look out. Incase Natsumi arrived earlier, than expected with the new princess. Then Pearl realized something, that made her wonder. "Is the mermaid, next to you the next Green Pearl Princess?" Ask Pearl, from where she was floating.

Before Natsumi could answer, Inko had swam forward. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Pearl. My name is Inko Midoriya and I'll be the next Green Pearl Princess. And this is my son, Izuku. Who is currently hiding behind me." Said Inko, introducing herself and Izuku. Which had caused Pearl to finally notice Izuku. Who was hiding behind Inko. Since he was currently poking his head out a bit from Inko's side. "And to let you know, Pearl. My son will be taking over for me. When I finally decide to pass my throne on to him. According to the sea goddess." Upon hearing this. Both Natsumi and Pearl gained a look of surprise. Since this was the first time, that the kingdom. Would have a merman, succeeding the princess. When the princess would, decide to retire from her position.

"Well, then. It is a pleasure to meet both of you." Said Pearl, with a bow. Then she turned to Natsumi. "Natsumi?" Gaining Natsumi's attention. "Could you please follow me, will quick? So, that we can talk about something?"

"Of course, Pearl." Said Natsumi. Then she turned to Inko and Izuku. "Do you 2 mind, if you could stay right here? While Pearl and I talk about something." As she noticed, Pearl freaked out a bit.

"Of course. You and Pearl can talk about, whatever it is. Me and Izuku will gladly stay right here.." Said Inko, as she pulled Izuku a bit closer to her.

From there, Natsumi and Pearl swam to the other side of the room to talk. And from there, Pearl proceeded to explain to Natsumi. That the entire kingdom was throwing a party to welcome the princess and her son. And how the idea, came to be. Along with explaining, that she was on her way to get some more decorations. When saw Natsumi, Inko, and Izuku. Which lead to the 2 of them, having their current conversation. And during the whole conversation, Pearl could clearly see. The irritation, that was starting to appear on Natsumi's face. Since the rest of the kingdom had failed to notify Natsumi about the change of plans. Before she would arrive at the castle, with Inko and Izuku.

"So let me see, if I understand everything so far?" Said Natsumi, as she recounted the conversation with Pearl, about what the 2 had just finished talking about. "So, did I miss anything?"

"Nope. That was everything as I explained it." Said Pearl, from where she was floating right next to her. "And it would also be great appreciate. If you can keep the 2 occupied for a few more hours. Since we still need to finish preparing for the party. And I was going to get something. When I saw you 3 arrive. Followed by you calling me out, when I was going to let everyone know. That you had arrived."

"Very well, then. I will play along. Since Inko and Izuku were going to be needing a tour of the castle anyway." Said Natsumi, as she looked at Pearl. Causing Pearl to perk up a bit. "But, only this once. Since it's a special occasion" Natsumi added, in a stern voice. While causing Pearl to rapidly nod her head.

From there, Pearl quickly swam off to get, what she came to get. Before she swam back to the room, that the party was being held in.

While Natsumi and Pearl were talking. Inko and Izuku were currently taking in their surroundings and were in complete and utter aw, at what they were seeing before their very eyes. Before Inko noticed, Natsumi swimming over to the 2 of them.

"So...how did your conversation with Pearl, go?" Asked Inko, curious about the conversation, that Natsumi and Pearl had.

"It went...well." Said Natsumi, while trying her best to not sound irritated. "Though, I did find out the reason. That the rest kingdom wasn't here to greet you and Izuku."

"Oh? And what is the reason, that they couldn't greet us?" Asked Inko, a little curious, about why no 1 was there to greet them.

"Apparently, some of the teenage mermaids decided to start talking about a welcoming party for you and Izuku. And it, kind of spiraled from there." Said Natsumi, with a sigh.

"Well, wasn't that nice and thoughtful of them to do." Said Inko, with a smile on her face.

"True. But..." Said Natsumi, before she let a sigh. "They didn't bother to notify me or leave a letter or something for when we arrived. That they were planning something like this.." As Inko agreed with her. That some form of notification should have been left for them. "So, I'm going to be giving you and Izuku, a tour of the castle. Before we head for the party."

From there, Natsumi began giving the Inko and Izuku a tour of the castle.

While Natsumi was giving Inko and Izuku a tour of the castle. Pearl on the other hand, had returned to the room. Where the welcoming party was being put together, for Inko and Izuku. When 1 of the mermaids, that was helping to decorate the room. Decided to ask, what took her so long to get 1 item. Where Pearl proceeded to answer her question, by telling them. That Natsumi had returned with Inko and Izuku. Which caused everyone in the room, to pick up the pace to get everything ready for the welcoming party.

An hour or 2 later, we currently find Natsumi, Inko, and Izuku making their way, to the throne room. So, that Natsumi could show them, where Inko would be doing a majority of her royal duties. And so far, Inko, and Izuku.

"And here's our final stop of the tour. Before we head to the welcoming party. The throne room." Said Natsumi, as she opened the doors to the throne room of the North Atlantic mermaid kingdom. Which made Inko and Izuku gain a look of aw, at how beautiful the throne room looked. "So...what do you think?" Asked Natsumi, upon seeing the look on Inko and Izuku's faces.

"It's breath taking. And it might be the most beautiful room in the entire castle." Said Inko, as Izuku nodded, as he began exploring the room.

"You're right, about that. This is 1 of the more beautiful rooms in the castle." Said Natsumi, as she agreed with Inko, that this was 1 of the more colorful rooms in the castle.

After spending half an hour, with Inko and Izuku exploring the throne room. A mermaid swam into the room. Followed by the mermaid, quickly swimming over to Natsumi. Where the mermaid told Natsumi, that the party was ready, with Natsumi nodding in return.. From there, the mermaid left the room to go back to the room. Where the party was going to be held for Inko and Izuku. While Natsumi called Inko and Izuku over to her. So that she could tell them, that it was time for them to head for the room, that the party was being held in. With Inko asking, Natsumi to guide her and Izuku to the room, to where the party was going to be held in. Which Natsumi agreed to be their guide once again.

Upon reaching the room. Natsumi proceeded to guide Inko and Izuku to a back entrance of the room. Where Inko and Izuku saw a curtain, that let them vaguely make out the room on the curtain.

"Now, wait here, behind the curtain. Until I call for you to come through the curtain." Natsumi said, floating by the curtain. Getting a nod from Inko. From there, Natsumi swam through the curtain. While Inko and Izuku made their way, so that they were behind the curtains.

While Inko and Izuku were waiting. Inko decided to ask Izuku, how he was enjoying the trip so far. Where he said to Inko, that he was enjoying the trip so far. Which made Inko smile, and know that she had made the right choice.

"Now, without a further ado. I formally introduce our new princess Inko Midoriya and her son, Izuku Midoriya." Said Natsumi.

"Ready, Izuku?" Asked Inko, getting a nod from Izuku. As they both went through the curtain. Only to be surprised by how many mermaids in the room. That it kind of gave Inko a shock. As for Izuku he hid behind Inko. While poking his head out from behind her. "I didn't expect, there to be so many mermaids in the room." Thought Inko, to herself. "But I need to do this."

After getting her thoughts together. Inko began her speech to the kingdom. First off, by introducing herself and her son, Izuku. Who peaked out from behind Inko. Before quickly hiding behind her again. Much to Inko's laughter at her son's antics. As for the rest of the kingdom. They just found him adorable.

Followed by Inko explaining her and her son's history of their family and why Inko became the next Green Pearl Princess of the North Atlantic and that Izuku would succeed her, 1 day. They were shocked to know, that their goddess would intervene. In Inko and Izuku's lives to give. Inko's son a better chance in the future. But, they were really surprised, when Inko said, that she and Izuku were descendants of Rina Toin. One of the previous mermaid princesses of the kingdom. Who was born around the start of the 21st century. Eventually, Inko ended her speech by saying. That she'll do her best to be the princess. That they deserve to have. Which got loads cof heers from the mermaids of the kingdom.

From there the party began. As Inko took her seat on the throne set up in the room for the princess and watched the party, with Izuku by her side. But after a while Inko decided to get up and swim around to meet with those of the kingdom, with Izuku right behind her.

While Inko and Izuku were swimming around and meeting the inhabitance of the kingdom. They were getting a few stares. But, that was mainly towards Izuku, as there was something about him, that set off the mothering instincts, in a lot of the older mermaids.

Eventually, the welcome party came to an end, around 10 PM. And we currently find Inko, Izuku, and Natsumi, currently making their to the bedroom. That bedroom, that would serve as Inko and Izuku's bedroom. Until they were able to prepare a bedroom for Izuku, at the castle.

Though right now, we currently find Inko guiding an almost asleep Izuku, to their room. While making small talk, with Natsumi. But right now, they were talking about Inko's Coming of Age Ceremony.

"So, are you sure? That you want to go through with your Coming of Age Ceremony?" Asked Natsumi.

"Yes. I'm positive. That I want to go through with it." Said Inko. "Plus we could invite the other princesses if we want. Since it'll be a good way for me to meet the other princesses." Natsumi nodded her head in understanding. Where Inko was going with this.

"Very well, then. I'll start making preparations for your Coming of Age Ceremony. Along with sending out the invites to the other princesses." Said Natsumi. "By the way, Inko. When is your birthday?"

"It's July 4th. And Izuku's here, is July 15th." Said Inko, as they continued swimming to the room.

"Thank you, princess." Said Natsumi, as the 3 of them finally reached Inko's and Izuku's room for the night. "Well then. Good night, Inko and Izuku."

"Good night, to you too, Natsumi." Said Inko. "Now if you'll excuse me. I have to get my son to bed." Inko added, as she lifted up Izuku into her arms. Who proceeded to fall completely asleep on Inko's shoulder.

From there, Inko and Natsumi proceeded to separate for the evening. While Inko swam into her bedroom, with Izuku sound asleep on her shoulders.

Then Inko proceeded to swim to 1 side of the green seashell bed. Then she proceeded to lift and move the covers on the bed. Followed by her gently lifted Izuku off her shoulder and gently placed him on the bed. Before she lifted the covers and tucked Izuku into bed.

Then she swam over to her side of the bed and got under the covers as well. Before she took 1 more look at her sleeping son. Before going off to sleep as well.

While Inko and Izuku had gone to sleep. Lucia was trying to track down the Aquamarine Pearl. Since the next Aquamarine Princess had yet to be born. And couldn't be born without the pearl. Because she was getting a reading from Japan for the Aquamarine Pearl.

Unaware of the fact, that the pearl in question. Had wound up in the hands of her friend Hanon's descendents. Along with Hanon's Pearl Tear Necklace.
