Chapter 09: A meeting between a Wolf and a Hero. (Couldn't think of a better title...)

A month had passed since the weekend with the (Hu)Mane Six.

Currently Miko was hanging laundry in his backyard during a sunny afternoon.

He was whistling a tune as he hung one of his pants before taking a step back to see all his clothes fluttering in the breeze.

He wiped his forehead before grinning. "Finally done."

"Now to continue my-" before he could finish his sentence he heard howling in the forest making him pause and listen intently.

He'd heard howling in the forest before, but it was never this close to his house. His smile faded, and his eyes narrowed with concern.

It almost sounded young and...

Mournful.

Deciding to check it out, using his powers he sped into the forest.

The howling grew louder as he approached, echoing through the trees.

The sun filtered through the leaves above, casting a dappled glow across the forest floor.

The smell of pine and earth filled his nose, the sounds of other forest animals silenced by the eerily quiet not including the howling.

When he was getting near he jumped and landed on a tree branch and saw something that made his heart ache.

A grey wolf pup howling mournfully over the lifeless body of its mother lay in a small clearing.

Miko's breath hitched at the sight. Her fur was matted with blood, her eyes glazed over, and she wasn't moving.

One thing idly he noticed was the mother wolf was bigger than the average wolf he'd encountered in these parts.

With a sad frown he jumped down a little away from them but enough to signify his presence.

The pup's howling stopped abruptly at Miko's approach, its tiny body quivering with fear as it stared at the unfamiliar figure.

Its piercing blue eyes glared and it growled a warning, baring its small, sharp teeth.

Miko's heart ached further at the sight of the scared pup, so young and now alone. He took a step forward, his hands outstretched in a non-threatening manner.

"Easy there," he cooed, trying to soothe the pup. "I'm not gonna hurt you."

The pup's growls grew weaker, and it took a tentative step back, its gaze never leaving Miko. The fur on its back stood on end, and it was clear that despite its fear, it was ready to protect its mother.

Miko felt his own heart mirroring the pup's pain.

He knew what it felt like to lose a parent at a young age. The ache was something that never truly went away. It just dulled with time.

Miko knelt down slowly, keeping his eyes on the pup's. "I'm here to help," he murmured softly, his voice carrying a gentle reassurance. "What happened to your mom?"

The pup took another step back, its gaze flickering between Miko and its mother. It let out a soft, trembling whine, and Miko's eyes watered.

Miko's eyes searched the clearing for any signs of a struggle. He saw claw marks in the dirt and a trail of blood leading into the trees. It looked like the mother had fought something off.

Something Big.

Miko's gaze followed the trail of blood into the dense foliage, his gut clenching. Whatever did this wasn't an ordinary predator or animal in general for that matter.

But from the looks of it it was gone...for now.

He turned his attention back to the pup. It was shivering, its fur damp from either dew or fear. He knew he had to act fast before something else came along.

"Look, I can't just leave you here," Miko said, his voice firm but gentle. "I'll take you home with me. I'll get you some food, and we'll figure things out, okay?"

The pup's eyes searched his, and after a moment of tense silence, it took a cautious step forward, sniffing his outstretched hand.

It was a small gesture, but it was enough for Miko to feel a spark of hope.

He slowly reached out and gently stroked the pup's head, his touch careful and soothing.

He reached out to the mother and closed her eyes with a gentle touch, whispering a silent prayer for her spirit to find peace.

Then he turned back to the pup. "What do ya say we give your mom a proper burial."

The pup looked up at him, still shivering, but the fierce protectiveness in its gaze had softened to something akin to trust. It gave a small, almost imperceptible nod.

Miko's eyes widened in surprise before a sad smile graced his features. "Alright," he murmured. "Let's do this."

He gently picked up the mother wolf, surprising the pup with his strength and care, and carried her body near his house. He found a quiet spot under a rather large oak tree, a place where she could rest in peace.

He grabbed his shovel from the shed and began to dig a grave. The pup watched him from a safe distance, its eyes never leaving Miko. The sound of the shovel cutting into the earth was the only thing that broke the silence.

As he worked, Miko talked to the pup, keeping his voice low and calm. He told stories of his own mother, of her warmth and love, hoping to ease the young wolf's fear.

Ever since he got reincarnated to the MLP universe his mind would sometimes wonder how his mother was doing in his original universe after he died.

Did she recover from grief?

Is she okay? Is she happy?

Those thoughts swirled in Miko's mind as he dug, the physical labor offering a small reprieve from the emotional turmoil he felt. The pup took a few steps closer, its curiosity overcoming its fear.

Finally, the grave was deep enough. With a sigh, Miko laid the mother wolf down gently, her body resting in the cool earth. The pup padded over and nudged her with its nose, letting out a mournful whine.

Miko's throat tightened as he watched the pup's grief. He knew what it was like to lose a parent, to feel that overwhelming sense of loss and confusion. He placed a comforting hand on the pup's back.

'Dad...' he thought to himself, his eyes watering up at the sight of the pup's grief. It brought back memories of his own loss.

With a heavy heart, Miko began to shovel the earth back into the grave, covering the mother wolf. The pup watched him, its whimpers subsiding but the sadness remained etched into its young face.

As he worked, Miko felt the pup's warmth against his side, its body pressed against his leg for comfort. He paused for a moment, stroking its fur and whispering more words of comfort. The pup leaned into his touch, seeking solace.

Once the grave was filled, Miko took a step back, wiping his brow. "It's done," he said softly. "She's in a better place now."

He then focused Specium energy into his left index finger, the tip glowing blue surprising the pup.

He smiled gently at the pup telling it that everything was gonna be okay, before starting to trace something on the oak tree.

With a gentle flick of his wrist, he etched a beautiful and intricate design around the base of the tree using the glowing tip of his finger.

The pup watched in amazement as the design grew more complex, swirls and patterns intertwining with the image of a wolf howling at the moon.

Miko took a step back to admire his work, the glow from his finger fading away. The pup stared at the tree in wonder, the sight of the glowing pattern leaving it slightly bewildered.

The glow on the pattern soon faded, leaving behind an intricate and beautiful tribute to the fallen wolf.

The pup, still in shock from the sudden loss, stared at the tree for a moment before looking up at Miko, its eyes searching for answers.

"You're not gonna be alone anymore," Miko told the pup, his voice a gentle promise. "You're gonna come live with me, okay?"

The pup tilted its head, trying to understand the human's words. It had never encountered a creature that wasn't of its kind before, but something about Miko felt...right.

Miko held out his hand again, palm up. "C'mon, let's go," he urged, his voice filled with kindness.

The pup looked at Miko's hand, then back at its mother's grave, unsure of what to do.

It took a tentative step forward, then another, until it was standing right beside Miko. He gently picked it up, feeling the trembling of its small body against his. He held it close, whispering reassurances as he turned and began to walk back to his house.

The pup's eyes searched his, looking for some semblance of safety. It had lost the only family it had ever known, and the forest was now a place of fear and grief.

"How about I give you something to eat?" Miko asked as they approached the house. The pup's stomach rumbled in response, and it gave a small nod, its eyes never leaving Miko's face.

Miko took the pup inside, placing it gently on the kitchen floor. He took some bacon from the fridge and cooked it, watching as the pup's nose twitched at the scent. He put the food down in a small bowl, hoping it would be appealing enough for the creature.

The pup looked up at him with those piercing blue eyes, hunger and hope warring within them. Miko's heart went out to the small creature, and he hoped that his gesture would be the start of something good.

"Here you go," he said softly, placing the bowl of cooked bacon in front of it. The pup's eyes lit up, and it took a tentative step towards the food, its tail wagging slightly. It had never seen a human up close before, but the warmth and care that Miko exuded was something it instinctively knew was safe.

The pup began to eat, devouring the bacon with a hunger that spoke of days without food.

Miko watched, his heart aching for the little one's plight. He knew that food was only the first step. There would be much to learn and adapt to for the pup.

He pulled out his phone from his pocket, scrolling through his contacts until he found the one he was looking for: "Fluttershy." He hit call ,his thumb hovering over the screen.

"Hey Shy," he began as soon as she picked up, "umm listen are the others with you?"

Fluttershy's voice was soft and concerned, "Is everything okay, Miko?"

Miko scratches the back of his head. "Uhm, not exactly."

Fluttershy's voice grew more urgent, "What happened?"

"Listen, meet me at school by the Wondercolt Statue and I'll explain everything and bring the others something tells me they need to hear it as well." He said cryptically.

Fluttershy's concern grew but she knew better than to press Miko when he was like this. "Alright, I'll get the others and we'll meet you there," she promised before hanging up.

The line went dead, and Miko looked down at the pup who had stopped eating to stare at the phone. He gave a gentle smile, "You're gonna like them," he said, referring to his friends.

The pup tilted its head in curiosity before returning to its food.

Miko narrowed his eyes in thought, crossing his arms as his mind went back to the "crime scene". 'I got a bad feeling about this.'

Later at Canterlot High by the Wondercolt Statue.

Aww who's the cutest little wolf ever? Yes you are, yes you are." Fluttershy cooed as she gently stroked the pup's fur.

Miko chuckled seeing it, liking the attention from Fluttershy before turning to the others, his amused expression shifting to a serious one.

He had just finished explaining what happened earlier that day to the rest of the (Hu) Mane Six, their expressions a mix of shock and concern.

"So his mother was killed?" Sunset asked, looking at the now known male pup in concern.

Miko nodded grimly. "Yeah and by the Injuries his mother gained before her death...It was something big." He said with a furrowed brow.

The (Hu) Mane Six exchanged glances, understanding the gravity of the situation.

"Umm, maybe it was just a bear?" Applejack suggested, her voice tinged with worry.

He shook his head at that. "I don't think so AJ."

"Why not?" Rainbow Dash asked, leaning in closer to get a better look at the pup.

"Cause' Dash, I checked the surrounding area where the mother was killed, huge claw marks, trees snapped and uprooted, blood everywhere." He explained, his voice filled with concern. "This was no ordinary bear attack."

The girls exchanged glances again before Rarity asked. "Well Miko, what do you think it was?"

"I don't know but it's not an animal that's for sure, call it a gut feeling." Miko replied, his voice tight with tension.

"Ooh! Maybe it was a black dinosaur-like monster that came from outer space and has been hiding in our forest all this time but for some reason it's attracted to you because of your powers." Pinkie said with her usual excitement and enthusiasm.

The girls didn't know what to make of Pinkie's wild guess before they shrugged it off as one of her usual bouts of randomness.

However Miko paled slightly when Pinkie said "Black Dinosaur like Monster from outer space." He gave a shaky grin. "W-where did you get that idea?." He asked the hyper pink party girl.

"Just a hunch." She said with a big smile.

"R-right." He muttered.

While the girls thought nothing of what she said, Miko knew better than to underestimate Pinkie's hunches as random as they may be.

'Please, Please, Please! Don't let it be one of them.' he thought to himself in slight panic as he prayed to every almighty powerful being in the Multiverse that it wasn't one of those things.

He immediately composed himself before they could notice his internal dilemma. "Anyways you guys should stay inside your homes when it's dark out since whatever it is it's still out there."

The group nodded in understanding. Sunset was the first to break the silence. "What are you going to do with the pup?"

"I'm adopting him, us orphans gotta stick together after all." He said with a sad smile, scratching the pup's ear who's tail began to wag.

The group nodded, all of them knowing that Miko had a big heart and wouldn't leave the pup out in the cold.

"What're you gonna name him Mik?" Rainbow asked, her eyes reflecting the curiosity in her voice.

"Hunter," Miko murmured, looking down at the pup, whose tail wagged more vigorously at the sound of his new name. "It's a strong name for a strong little wolf."

The (Hu) Mane Six nodded in approval, smiling at the bond forming between Miko and Hunter. The sun was starting to set, casting a warm orange glow over the schoolyard.

"Miko what are we going to do about the creature that did this?" Applejack spoke up, her eyes hard with determination.

Miko turned to them with a serious expression. "What I am going to do is hunt that thing down and kill whatever the hell it is before it decides to head for the city." He said standing up. "As for what you girls are going to do is stay at your homes where it's safe and sound." He said looking each and every one of them in the eyes telling that this wasn't up for debate.

But Rainbow Dash looked at her childhood friend in disbelief as she stood up herself. "What!? Are you crazy, Miko? You can't go alone!"

The others protested Miko's decision, but he remained firm. "Look, I know you guys want to help, but you don't have any magic to help, ever since princess Twilight went back to Equestria I knew I had to be the one to handle any serious threats."

He took a deep breath, his gaze flickering between his friends and the pup. "And It's not like we can just go to her for help. The portal isn't going to open for another thirty moons, so we're on our own."

Applejack was the one that spoke this time. "Sugar Cube ya can't just expect us to sit around twiddlin' our thumbs while you go off and fight a monster that could eat you for dinner!"

"Ah, pssh, AJ, come on this is me we're talking about, remember? The guy who went toe to toe against Sunset Shimmer at the Fall Formal when she turned into a Psychotic Demon bent on taking over Equestria." He said with an easygoing smirk crossing his arms.

Right before he realized what he said. "And I totally mean no offense to that!" Miko quickly said to Sunset with a sheepish laugh.

Sunset couldn't help but roll her eyes at Miko's comment, a small smirk playing on her lips. "None taken," she said lightly, crossing her arms over her chest. "But are you sure about this?"

Miko nodded, his expression solemn. "Yeah, I'm sure. This is my responsibility." He looked at the pup, now named Hunter, who was snuggled in his arms. "Besides, I can't let anything happen to him or anyone else."

The group fell silent, contemplating his words. They knew he was right, but that didn't ease their concern.

Later that night.

Miko was walking around the forest looking for signs of the creature that had killed Hunter's mother, with the pup trotting beside him.

Though something told him he would find it soon enough.

There was just one little problem.

"I cannot believe you guys did that..." Miko said dryly as he turned to the (Hu) Mane 6 who were giving him various degrees of sheepish smiles and embarrassment.

Somehow the girls snuck into his car before he left and by the time he got home he found Rarity, Fluttershy, in the back while he found Sunset, Rainbow Dash, and Applejack squeezed in the trunk.

As for Pinkie Pie she surprised him when she came out of the hood.

He still didn't know how that was physically possible.

"And you never will!" Pinkie said winking to the readers.

Hey! No fourth wall breaking!

Miko and the girls looked at Pinkie wondering who she was talking to, before he shook his head and turned to them with a sigh.

"Look I appreciate the sentiment but you guys can't come with me." He told them. "It's too dangerous."

"We're not just gonna let you go out there alone," Rainbow protested. "We're your friends, we got your back."

Miko's expression softened, "I know you do, Dash. But I don't know what I'm dealing with. It could be too much for any of you."

"We can handle ourselves," Applejack assured him, her eyes steady and determined. "Besides, we got each other's backs."

Miko sighed knowing how stubborn they can be so he just decided to continue walking. "Fine but don't say I didn't warn ya." He said with a hint of annoyance in his voice.

As they trekked through the forest, Miko looked for signs of the creature while the girls remained on high alert. They stuck close to him, their eyes scanning the shadows for any movement. The forest was eerily quiet, the usual sounds of nightlife muted by their presence.

"So...what do you think it was that...you know?" Sunset asked, breaking the tense silence, her eyes flicking to Hunter before returning to the forest around them.

Miko shrugged, his eyes still scanning the area. "Could be anything, but it's definitely not from around here."

Rarity spoke up, her voice laced with concern. "Miko, do you have any idea what kind of creature we're dealing with? The claw marks and the way you described the destruction..."

Miko's eyes narrowed as he recalled the grisly scene. "No, but it's gotta be something big. And judging by the tracks, it's not something I've seen before in these woods."

Fluttershy looked up at him with wide eyes, her grip on her flashlight tightening. "Do you think it's dangerous?" she whispered.

"Extremely," Miko replied, his eyes never leaving the shadows. "Which is why I wanted you guys to stay put at your houses and let me handle this."

Rainbow scoffed. "Oh come on Mik, you're worrying too much. It's probably just a big bear or something, I mean what's the worst that could happen?" She said, trying to lighten the mood.

Hearing this Miko and Pinkie gasped in an over dramatic fashion in shock before they sped to Rainbow and covered her mouth with comical panicked expressions.

"Are you Insane woman?! Those forbidden words did not just come out of your mouth!" He whisper-shouted with exasperation.

Pinkie nodded in agreement with Miko, her eyes wide with mock horror. "You know what happens when you say that!"

The others looked confused, but they knew better than to laugh at Miko and Pinkie's sudden outburst. They had all seen enough movies and read enough books to know that when someone says, "What's the worst that could happen, or what could possibly go wrong?" it usually meant something terrible was about to occur.

Rainbow rolled her eyes and removed their hands from her mouth. "Jeez, will you guys calm down? It's just a figure of speech."

"Dash, you do not want to provoke Murphy's Law every time somebody says nothing will go wrong, it will go wrong." Miko chastised her playfully but there was a hint of seriousness in his tone.

Pinkie nodded. "Yeah! Even I'm not that crazy!" she exclaimed, her voice high pitched and excited.

Rainbow scoffed at their dramatics and continued walking. "Please guys, don't believe in that mumbo jumbo, like I said it's probably just a bear."

Miko facepalms in exasperation at his best friend as he continues walking as well with the others following him. "You know what? Fine but when things go wrong I'm blaming you and say I told you so."

They walked further into the forest, the darkness growing denser around them, the only sounds were the crunch of leaves under their feet and their own heavy breaths.

A few minutes in, Miko stepped on something squishy, causing him to freeze mid-step. He looked down to find a large, unidentifiable footprint in the dirt, the edges still fresh and slightly wet.

It was big, making him gulp before he looked further up ahead to see another one. This was definitely not a bear.

The part of the forest they stumbled upon looked like a storm hit it. Trees were broken and uprooted, leaves scattered everywhere, and the ground was torn apart, boulders shattered, and large claw marks everywhere.

Miko deadpanned at Rainbow who had the decency to look slightly apologetic for her earlier remark. "Okay Dash, I'm sorry for doubting you. It's definitely just a bear," he said, his sarcasm thick enough to cut through the tension.

"Well just by looking at this I can tell... we're fucked." Miko said dryly, his eyes scanning the destruction before them.

The (Hu) Mane 6 looked around at the wrecked forest, their expressions a mix of awe and fear.

"I...I take back what I said," Rainbow whispered, her eyes wide with realization. "This is definitely not a bear."

"You're damn right it's not a bear. God what the hell was I think letting you all come..." He mumbled under his breath.

Sunset stepped forward, her eyes scanning the area with a newfound sense of urgency. "Miko, what do we do now?" she asked, her voice steady despite the fear creeping in.

"I-i don't know!" He exclaimed standing in front of them. "It was one thing when I fought you, again No Offense." He said quickly. "But this...thing whatever the hell it is I planned on taking it on alone that way I didn't have to worry about any of you getting hurt."

Applejack placed a firm hand on Miko's shoulder, her gaze unwavering. "Well, we're here now, and we ain't about to let you face this alone."

Miko pushed her hand away and took a step back. "Don't you get It! You guys don't have any magic, what're you gonna do? Throw a stick at It?! If it shows up and it's what I'm thinking it is, it'll swipe you guys off like flies!" His voice grew louder with each word, his eyes flashing with fear for them.

The girls exchanged glances, understanding the gravity of the situation. "Well, we're not exactly defenseless," Applejack said, pulling out a lasso. "We've got some skills of our own."

Miko groaned at Applejack's stubbornness. "If Twilight was still here with the Element of Magic maybe we could take It on together, but she's not!" He said, his voice growing more frustrated.

Unseen to Miko A hulking figure easily Twelve feet tall slowly stood up, eyes glowing red.

As Miko continued ranting the (Hu)Mane Six and Hunter froze their eyes wide taking a step back in shock and fear.

"Seriously what part of "way in over your heads" don't you girls get!" He exclaimed, but he stopped when he noticed their fearful looks. "What? Do I have something on my face?"

"Uh...uh...uh..." Rarity tried to form words but couldn't in fear at the... monster in front of them.

"What? What?!" Miko demanded, looking at them still clueless at what's behind him.

Sunset, still frozen in fear, just pointed a shaky finger behind him.

Miko furrowed his brow in confusion before he finally noticed a big shadow looming over him, before deadpanning looking at his friends. "There is something reaaaally bad behind me isn't there?" He asked them dryly.

The girls and Hunter nodded as one, their eyes wide with fear as they stared at the creature that had just revealed itself.

Miko felt movement behind him and using his enhanced speed he grabbed the girls and Hunter a good distance away just before it could crush him with its claws.

He looked at the creature with a mix of shock and horror. It was a creature that shouldn't exist at alll. "No...fucking...way..."

It was a saurian like monster with hard black scales, a spike tipped tail, long spikes on each shoulder ann two more below it's shoulder blades smaller ones going down the middle of it's spine, a small horn on it's snout and a large one on its head that was bent forwards, rows of sharp teeth finally it's glowing red eyes.

"RRROOOOAAAAGGGHHH!"

Its roar sent a shockwave that had them shielding themselves with their arms as the creature looked down at Miko with a rage in its eyes that was unmistakable.

Miko removed his arms looking at the monster in horror. "B...b...bl...b-Black k-King..."

Miko was in shock seeing in front of his eyes a literal Monster from the Ultraman series.

"Well shit, Pinkie's hunch was right after all," Miko murmured to himself.

The (Hu) Mane 6 stared in terror at the creature, their hearts pounding in their chests. Pinkie's earlier guess had hit eerily close to the mark.

"Sunset is this... Monster from Equestria?" Rarity whispered to her friend, her voice shaking with fear.

Sunset gulped hard, her eyes wide with disbelief. "N-no, I've never seen anything like it in Equestria," she replied, her eyes still glued to the creature.

Pinkie however was bouncing and clapping in glee. "See, see, I told you guys! It's totally a Black Space Dinosaur-Woah!" She exclaimed as Miko pushed her down on the ground before a tree that was thrown by the Black King missed them by inches.

"You okay Pinks?" He asked, his voice filled with a mix of concern and irritation.

Pinkie nodded, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Yeah! That was so awesome!" She exclaimed as Miko deadpanned at her.

He shook his head before turning to the others with a serious expression. "Grab Hunter and follow me to the clearing close by, we'll be sitting ducks here in this closed space, Now move!"

They didn't need a second invitation and bolted behind him, the creature's thundering steps closing in. They reached a clearing and Miko turned to face the beast, his eyes glowing blue with Specium energy.

"What's the plan Miko?" Applejack's voice was steady despite the fear lacing her words.

"We can't let Black King leave this forest, we need to take it out here and now." He said, his eyes narrowing as he sized up the creature.

Fluttershy widened when he said 'take it out.' she gulped. "T-take it out? You mean kill it?"

The (Hu) Mane Six's eyes widened in shock and horror at what Miko had just suggested.

Sunset was the first to speak up, her voice firm despite her trembling. "We can't just kill it, Miko! Maybe we can find another way!"

The others but Hunter nodded in agreement with Sunset's words, hoping that there was a way to end this without bloodshed.

Miko sighed at this. 'I knew they would get like this.' he thought before looking at them with a serious expression.

"Guys this isn't up for debate, Black king is too dangerous, we can't just lock it up like some wild animal that's been misunderstood." Miko said firmly, his eyes still on the creature that was stomping towards them. "I'm sorry but we have to kill it."

"Because If we don't and It reaches the city..." He trailed off, not needing to elaborate on the potential catastrophe that would ensue.

They shuddered at the thought of Black King rampaging through the city, knowing he was right. Rainbow Dash gulped, steeling herself. "Okay, Miko, we trust you. What do we do?"

"Keep Hunter safe and stay hidden, I'll handle this for now." He said, placing the pup in Fluttershy's arms.

The others nodded, knowing that arguing with Miko was pointless.

Once he was sure they were at a safe distance he turned to Black King as it growled menacingly.

He gulped nervously as he stood his ground. 'great...I can't even transform yet nor know how to, and I'm already fighting my first monster, fuck me.' he thought with a shaky grin.

The creature charged at him, its massive claws swiping through the air with the force of a tornado. Miko ducked and rolled, his speed allowing him to evade the blows with millimeters to spare. He glanced back at the group, his eyes pleading for them to stay put.

"Remember what I said, keep hidden and safe." He yelled before focusing back on the monster.

Miko took a deep breath before flying forward, his fists crackling with Specium energy. The creature roared in fury as it saw its prey escaping. Rainbow Dash and the others watched with bated breath as Miko faced the monster.

The Black King's movements were swift for its size, but Miko's training has allowed him to anticipate and dodge the attacks with surprising grace.

He weaved between the trees, using the environment to his advantage, but he knew he couldn't keep this up forever.

"Okay fuck it. Time to go on offense." He murmured to himself as he saw an opening and took it.

Miko lunged forward and slammed his fist into the creature's side with all his might. The Black King roared in pain and swung its tail, sending Miko flying across the clearing.

He crashed into multiple trees, his body aching but not broken. He coughed out a laugh. "Well, that's one way to get its attention." He pushed himself up and took a stance, ready for round two.

With a burst of speed, Miko shot towards the Black King, his fist glowing with a blue aura. The creature roared in challenge, swiping its massive claw at him. Miko dodged and countered with a swift punch, the impact causing the ground to tremble.

The creature stumbled back, surprised by the human's power. The (Hu) Mane Six watched from their hiding spot, their eyes wide as they realized the gravity of the situation.

Miko's fist collided with the creature's chest, sending it staggering back. The impact echoed through the forest, making the leaves flutter. He knew that using his powers , he had a chance against this monster, but it wasn't going to be easy.

The Kaiju went for an overhead swing but Miko was too fast, he slid under the monster's arm and punched it in the stomach making it roar in pain.

The creature stumbled back a step, giving Miko the opportunity to land another blow. He jumped up and kicked it in the face, sending the creature reeling.

But Black King managed to grab his foot and throw him off, sending him flying. Miko hit multiple trees before landing painfully hard on the ground.

"What...is it with this guy and throwing me?" Miko groaned as he pushed himself off the ground, his body protesting from the impact.

The creature took this opportunity to turn his attention to the girls, roaring in their direction, his red eyes gleaming with malicious intent.

That is until a boulder hit him square in the face.

"You think I can't take a hit?!"

Miko's voice echoed through the forest as he leaped back to his feet, a fierce grin plastered on his face, his eyes ablaze with Specium energy. He flew and charged at Black King with renewed vigor.

He kicked it in the chin with a fierce yell, sending it reeling backward. The creature roared in pain and fury, swiping at the air as Miko danced around it.

The battle was intense, a whirlwind of fists and roars, as Miko pushed the creature back further into the forest. The (Hu) Mane Six watched from the sidelines, their hearts in their throats as their friend faced off against the monstrous being.

"Holy shit, he's holding his own against that thing," Rainbow whispered to herself, her eyes glued to the battle unfolding before her.

Rarity nodded, her fear momentarily overridden by a spark of hope. "Miko, you can do this," she whispered, her voice trembling slightly.

Sunset Shimmer looked on in worry. "Please be safe..." She whispered to herself, her eyes never leaving Miko.

"Miko, watch out!" Applejack screamed as Black King lunged forward, its jaws wide open, ready to swallow him whole.

Miko barely had time to react before Pinkie's hand shot out, grabbing his ankle and yanking him back just in time to avoid becoming the creature's midnight snack.

"Thanks, Pinks." He gasped, getting back to his feet. "But, I told you guys to stay hidden!"

Pinkie shrugged, her expression unfazed. "Well, when someone's about to become a snack, I don't think 'stay hidden' is the best advice!"

The group chuckled nervously, but their smiles faded as the creature let out an ear-piercing roar, clearly not amused by the interference. It swung its tail in a wide arc, aiming for Pinkie and Applejack.

Thinking quickly Miko threw an Ultra Slash at its tail successfully cutting it off, causing the creature to roar in pain and anger.

Miko looked behind his shoulder at Sunset subtly nodding.

Sunset nodded back in silent understanding. "Guys come on, Miko's got this! Let's give him some space," she said, pulling her friends away from the chaos.

Rainbow turned to Miko. "You got this Miko! I know you do!" She said before following the others. 'and come back to me alive.' She added in her thoughts.

They retreated to the edge of the clearing, trying to keep a safe distance while still being able to see the battle unfold.

"Be careful Miko." Sunset's voice was a whisper of concern as she watched him turn back to the creature.

Miko stayed on guard as the Black King writhed in pain, blood spurting from its stump of a tail. It turned its attention back to him, its eyes now burning with pure hatred.

"Ul...Ult...Ultra..." Black King uttered the name with a snarl, recognizing the power that was now arrayed against him.

Miko's widened in shock at the Kaiju's ability to speak.

The girls were shocked as the creature spoke, its deep, guttural voice resonating through the forest.

Black King growled before throwing its head back. "ULTRA!"

Miko narrowed his eyes with a sad frown, he needed to end this now. "Sorry big guy. But I need to end this before you harm anyone else." He said with a sad tone.

The creature lunged forward again, but Miko was ready for it. He dodged its snapping jaws and landed a powerful blow to its neck. The creature roared in agony before collapsing to the ground.

Miko stood over it, panting heavily, his heart racing. He didn't want to kill it, but he knew it was the only way to protect everyone.

He put his hands together with an Ultra Slash forming, but he frowned knowing the small disk wasn't enough.

Blacking roared, getting Miko's attention before it charged again.

Miko continued to look between the Kaiju and the small Ultra Slash in his hands.

'Maybe...' he thought as his eyes widened slightly, getting an idea.

With a look of determination Miko raised his arm with the Ultra Slash floating in his hand.

"Wh-what's he doing?" Fluttershy whispered, her eyes glued to the glowing disk in Miko's hand.

The others watched as Miko took a deep breath before opening them again, eyes glowing blue. "Time to end this!"

Before their very eyes the small disk started to grow in size, Specium energy engulfing Miko in a brilliant blue aura. The (Hu) Mane Six gasped as the energy grew so intense it was blinding.

"This is for Hunter!" He shouted as the disk grew to the size of a small car, the energy rushing through his body.

"Giga Ultra Slash!" With a roar Miko threw the Giga Ultra Slash at the creature. The disk shot forward with incredible speed, cutting through the air like a blade of pure light.

The Black King's eyes widened in terror as it saw the incoming attack, but it was too late to dodge.

The Giga Ultra Slash collided with the creature, sending a shockwave through the forest that knocked down trees and sent debris flying everywhere.

It roared in pain as the energy from the Giga Ultra Slash tore through its body, before it started flying as the disk pushed it to the sky, the light from the attack illuminating the night like a small sun.

Boom!

Once high enough it exploded into a massive star-like burst of light, the explosion's force echoing through the forest like thunder. The (Hu) Mane Six watched in awe, their jaws hanging open as the light from the explosion faded.

Miko knew there was nothing left of Black King but ash and the faint scent of ozone lingering in the air. He fell to his knees, panting heavily. He had never felt so drained in his life. The world spun around him as he tried to get his breathing under control.

The (Hu) Mane Six rushed over, their faces a mix of shock and relief. Rainbow Dash was the first to reach him, her eyes wide with amazement. "Miko! That was... that was awesome!" She exclaimed, her voice filled with awe.

Miko managed a weak smile as he looked up at his friends. "Thanks, Dash," he murmured, his body still trembling from the aftermath of the battle.

Fluttershy approached cautiously, holding a shaking Hunter. "Is... is it over?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Miko nodded, still trying to catch his breath. "It's over." He looked at the wolf pup, then at the others. "We need to get out of here before anybody else shows up."

The group nodded, still stunned by what they had just witnessed. As they gathered their wits, they helped Miko to his feet and made their way out of the forest, the echoes of the battle slowly fading away.

"What the hell was that thing?" Applejack muttered as they walked, her eyes still wide with shock.

"It's called Black King," Miko replied, his voice still a bit shaky. "It's a Kaiju, an alien monster from well... outer space."

"What?!" Rarity's eyes nearly popped out of her head. "How on Earth did it get here?"

Miko unfortunately shook his head. "Unfortunately I have no idea."

Back at Miko's House

They reached his house, all of them exhausted but alive. "We need to report this to the authorities," Sunset Shimmer said, her voice serious.

"No, no, no. Not happening." Miko said firmly as they entered his backyard. "We can't just call the cops and tell them a giant monster from space attacked us. They'll think we're nuts."

The (Hu) Mane Six shared a look of uncertainty, but they knew he had a point. They had seen enough in their lives to know that explaining a Kaiju to the local law enforcement was going to be a tough sell.

"So what do we do then?" Rainbow Dash asked, her voice filled with concern. "We can't just let more of these things show up and start wrecking the city!"

Miko nodded solemnly. "We keep this between us for now," he said, looking around at the group. "We need to figure out how to deal with them ourselves."

Sunset chewed on her lip, a worried look on her face. "But what if more of them come? Or something worse?"

Miko looked her in the eye. "Then we'll face it... together." He said with a firm nod.

"We'll lose..." She said looking at him, her voice filled with doubt.

"Then we'll do that together too..." Was all he said before he bent down to pick up the trembling Hunter.

He walked up to the oak tree in the middle of the yard, where he had buried the mother wolf earlier that day. The tree's bark glowed with the etched tribute to the creature, he put Hunter down and got on his knees before putting his hands in a prayer.

"May you finally rest in peace," Miko whispered to the tree, the glow of his eyes dimming as he stood back up. He turned to his friends, who were still in a daze from the battle. "Okay, it's time I took you girls home."

They nodded, still trying to process what had just happened. As they walked to his garage, the gravity of the situation was sinking in.

"Miko, can you really handle something like this on your own?" Applejack asked, her brow furrowed with concern.

Miko turned to her, a solemn expression on his face. "I don't know, Applejack," he admitted. "But if it means keeping everyone safe, I'll do whatever it takes."

The group climbed into his car, the adrenaline from the battle slowly wearing off, replaced by a heavy silence.

"Miko, how do you know about that Monster, you even knew what it was called?" Rainbow Dash asked, her voice filled with curiosity as they drove away from the forest.

Miko glanced at her, before turning his eyes back on the road ahead. "Remember when I told you girls about the Giant of Light? You know the one that tends to show up in my dreams?"

Rainbow nodded, her curiosity piqued. "Yeah, so?"

"Well sometime after the Fall Formal I started communicating with him more through meditation for advice and stuff, sometimes he would tell me about the Kaiju, telling me to be aware and be ready. Especially the more dangerous ones." He explained with a shrug.

The (Hu) Mane Six exchanged glances, their shock turning to admiration for their friend who was keeping so much to himself.

"Why didn't you tell us?" Fluttershy whispered, her eyes wide with wonder.

He shrugged again before answering. You girls didn't ask." Was all he said making them sweatdrop.

"Oh, and Dash?" He glanced at his best friend from the rearview mirror.

"Yeah?" Rainbow Dash replied, leaning forward slightly.

Miko grew a smug smirk. "I told ya so." He said teasingly, breaking the silence. Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes before playfully punching his arm.

"Ow!" He exclaimed, feigning pain before laughing.

Soon all the girls were laughing, the tension from the battle finally starting to dissipate. As they reached Canterlot City, Miko dropped them off one by one, promising to keep them updated on any new developments.

Rainbow Dash was the last to leave, her gaze lingering on him before she stepped out of the car. "You sure you're okay?" She asked, her voice sincere.

Miko nodded, his smile reassuring. "I'm fine Dash, now go on, we still have school tomorrow."

Rainbow leaned in, her eyes searching his. "Okay, but if you need anything, you know I'm here for you."

Miko nodded, his smile genuine. "Thanks, Dash."

Rainbow watched as his car taillights disappeared into the night, feeling a strange mix of fear and pride swell in her chest.

She shook her head before going Inside.

Miko watched as Rainbow Dash disappeared into her house, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. He knew she was worried about him, but he could handle it.

Hunter barked softly next to him, pulling Miko out of his thoughts. He turned to the pup and ruffled its fur. "Well looks like you got your closure bud."

He drove home, the quiet of the night making him feel a little lonely. It was moments like these that made him miss his mother, but he knew she would be proud of him.

Once home, he gave Hunter a warm bath and some food. The pup had seen a lot tonight, but it seemed to have taken a liking to him. It was clear that the bond between them was growing stronger.

Miko sat on the floor, leaning against the wall of his bedroom, his eyes on the sleeping pup. The adrenaline had worn off, leaving him drained and contemplative. The reality of his situation was sinking in: he had to keep the city safe from these monsters, and he had to do it alone. Or did he?

He thought back to Sunset Shimmer's earlier words about a non-lethal solution. He respected her viewpoint, but he knew the Black King was too dangerous to leave alive. It was a heavy burden, but one he was willing to bear for the safety of his new home.

The house was quiet except for the occasional snore from Hunter. Miko took a deep breath, his mind racing with thoughts of the future battles he might face. He knew that keeping the (Hu) Mane Six in the loop was risky, but he also knew that he couldn't do it alone.

'Not to mention, Of what's to come' he thought as the events of Rainbow Rocks were only three months away.

Miko leaned his head back and sighed heavily. "This is going to get complicated." He whispered to himself.

'You are worrying too much Miko.' The Giant of Light's voice said from within his mind.

Miko sighed, his eyes never leaving the sleeping pup. 'What else can I do?' He asked mentally.

'You can start by telling them the truth.' The Giant of Light responded calmly.

Miko gave a humourless chuckle. 'I can't exactly walk up to them and say "hey guys guess what I originally came from another universe where your's is nothing but a cartoon!" Yeah like that'll workout.' he said mentally.

The Giant of Light sighed. 'You need to find a way to explain it to them, Miko. They are your friends, and they will stand by your side if they know the truth.'

'I will! Just not yet not when our friendship is still so fresh' Miko responded mentally. 'I mean I just got my best friend back, and I'm not losing Dash again...' His thoughts trailed off as he looked at the sleeping pup.

The Giant of Light remained silent, understanding the gravity of the situation.

Miko took a deep breath. 'I'll find a way to tell them. But first, we need to get ready for what's coming. We can't be caught off guard again.' He said mentally, his eyes still on the sleeping pup.

'Indeed, we must prepare.' The Giant of Light agreed, his voice calm and reassuring. 'But do not forget the importance of trust in friendship. Secrets can only take you so far.'

'I know.' Miko murmured, stroking the pup's fur. 'But I need time to figure out how.' He stood up, his legs feeling heavier than ever.

Miko walked over to his bed and flopped down, the mattress welcoming his exhausted body. His mind was racing with questions and concerns. How would they react to the truth? Would they believe him? Would they still accept him?

'If that is your choice Miko, I will support you.' The Giant of Light's voice was calm and firm.

'Aibou! One last thing.' Miko said mentally.

The Giant of Light's response was immediate. 'What is it, Miko?'

'Twilight's theory on the Light of Hope, was she right? Is it more than just a belief? Is it an equivalent to the Elements of Harmony?' he asked mentally, hoping for some guidance.

The Giant of Light remained silent for a moment before speaking. 'In a way, yes. The Light of Hope is a powerful force that resonates with the hearts of those who seek it. It is not bound by the same rules as the Elements of Harmony, but it shares their purpose of protecting and unifying. It is a beacon that guides the lost and gives strength to the weak.'

Miko lay there absorbing the Giant of Light's words. 'So, it's something more... something that can be shared with others?' He asked mentally.

'Indeed. It is a bond that can empower those who are willing to believe and fight for what is right.' The Giant of Light's voice was filled with wisdom.

Miko nodded to himself, his thoughts racing. 'Could it be... could I lend the girls a piece of that power?' He wondered out loud, hope sparking in his heart.

The Giant of Light's voice was gentle. 'It is possible, Miko. The Magic of Friendship and The Light of Hope are intertwined. If they accept it, and believe in themselves, they could become strong allies in your battles to come. But remember, it is your light to share, not force upon them.'

He nodded in understanding 'I understand. Thanks Aibou.' Miko whispered before the mental link faded away.

"Huh. Well Twilight's gonna flip when she hears about this," Miko murmured to himself, a hint of a smirk playing on his lips as he thought of the Princess of Friendship's reaction to his encounter with a real-life Kaiju.

He looked outside of his bedroom window to see the very same star that shined brightly in the night sky like always.

"All's well that ends well, I guess." He whispered to the star, before going to sleep.
