Merlin

Merlin watched Arthur take the pendant out of the small white silk bag, from a distance the pendant looked fine and delicate, but he couldn't make out the design it contained.

— Why is it broken in half? — Arthur asked, leaving the amulet on the table

Merlin walked over to the table to get a closer look at the amulet, barely able to hold back a gasp.

At that moment Arthur began to read his mother's letter... At first the words made sense, but quickly everything changed... He couldn't believe what he was hearing... Arthur had a brother... Gaius knewaboutit, and had kept it from him ...everything in his mind began to collapse...

At that moment Arthur looked up at him

— Merlin? — Arthur asked.

Puzzled, Arthur moved closer to try to understand what was happening to Merlin, but taking just one step towards him, Merlin backed away in fright and then ran out of the room at full speed.

Tears streamed down Merlin's cheeks as he sped down the halls of the castle toward Gaius's chambers.

Upon entering he found Gaius preparing some potions.

Not in the mood to talk to Gaius (he wasn't ready to face him yet), he hurried up to his room and slammed the door behind him

— Merlin... What's wrong, are you okay? — Gaius asked worriedly. Merlin had rushed past him, but he was almost sure he saw that he was crying.

Merlin didn't answer Gaius's questions, only muffled noises came from the small room. Apparently Merlin was desperately looking for something.

Gaius, more concerned, approached the door

— Open up Merlin, tell me what happened... Maybe I can help you

Again no response, just more background noise.

Resigned Gaius decided to go back to his potions. He had only taken a few steps away from the door when it was flung open, revealing a still tear-stained Merlin with his backpack slung over his shoulder.

Merlin brushed past Gaius and left the room without a word, slamming the door.

Gaius took a few seconds to react, but as soon as he recovered he quickly approached the door, only to find himself face to face with Arthur.
