Chapter 45: The Plan
The afternoon sun filtered through the training grounds, casting long shadows as Kakashi Hatake stood before his three students: Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura. All of them were eager, though the weight of the upcoming finals lingered in the air, evident in the way they stood—alert, focused, but with a hint of uncertainty.
Kakashi surveyed them carefully, his hands resting casually in his pockets. He could feel the pressure each of them carried—the desire to not just survive their matches but to win, and to do so with the strength they'd earned through blood, sweat, and training. He knew that the next month would be critical. If they were going to succeed, they needed a focused, well-structured plan.
Clearing his throat, Kakashi spoke. "Alright, listen up. We have one month until the final round of the Chunin Exams, and we'll need to use every minute wisely. You've all come a long way, but the challenges ahead will test everything you've learned—and more." His tone was serious, but there was an underlying confidence in his voice that set them at ease.
Naruto perked up, unable to contain his excitement. "So, what's the plan, Kakashi-sensei? How are we going to crush the finals?"
Kakashi chuckled lightly beneath his mask. "We're going to divide your training into two parts. For the first two weeks, I'll be focusing on Sasuke. Naruto, you'll be training with someone else. Sakura, you'll be receiving special training as well."
Naruto blinked, clearly caught off guard. "Wait—what? You're not going to train me? Who am I supposed to train with then?"
"Ebisu," Kakashi said, watching as Naruto's face fell dramatically.
"Ebisu? That closet perv?!" Naruto groaned, folding his arms. "Why can't you train me instead?"
Kakashi's eye crinkled with amusement. "Trust me, Naruto, Ebisu's more than just a closet perv. He's an elite trainer who specializes in chakra control and advanced techniques. You'll need that if you want to compete against someone like Neji. Besides, you'll thank me later."
Naruto frowned, but he couldn't argue. Kakashi-sensei always had a reason behind his decisions. He sighed, accepting it with some reluctance. "Fine"
Sasuke, on the other hand, looked intrigued. "So, what about me? You're going to train me with the Sharingan, right?"
Kakashi nodded. "Exactly. Your fight against Gaara will be dangerous, and you'll need to sharpen your Sharingan and your taijutsu skills. For the first two weeks, we'll focus on increasing your reaction speed, and I'll teach you how to use your Sharingan more efficiently. You're already talented, Sasuke, but you'll need control and mastery to keep up with Gaara's sand."
Sasuke's expression didn't change, but his eyes burned with a desire to grow stronger. "I'm ready."
Kakashi turned his attention to Sakura, who had been listening quietly. "Sakura, for the first two weeks, you'll be training with Kurenai."
Sakura's eyes widened. "Kurenai-sensei? But she's Shino's sensei…"
"She is," Kakashi confirmed. "But Kurenai is also the best genjutsu user in the village. You've got remarkable chakra control, and that makes you a perfect candidate for genjutsu. Kurenai will teach you the basics, helping you develop your illusionary techniques. Once you've mastered the fundamentals, I'll refine what you've learned and help you incorporate it into combat."
Sakura felt a wave of excitement and nervousness. Genjutsu? It wasn't something she had thought of mastering before, but it made sense. Her chakra control was excellent, and if she could add genjutsu to her arsenal, it would give her an edge against Shino.
"Understood, Kakashi-sensei. I'll do my best," Sakura said with determination.
"Good," Kakashi said, nodding approvingly at her focus. "But that's just the first two weeks. The second half of your training will be different. For the last two weeks, I'll be training all three of you together."
Naruto, now more intrigued, leaned forward. "Together? What are we going to do?"
"That's for later," Kakashi said cryptically, waving off their questions before they could even ask. "For now, focus on the task at hand. We have work to do."
"Each of you will face tough opponents in the finals," Kakashi continued. "Naruto, Neji is a genius with the Byakugan, but he's overconfident. If you master your chakra control, you'll have the upper hand."
Naruto pumped his fist in the air. "I'll take him down, no problem!"
"Sasuke, Gaara's sand is both his weapon and his shield. You'll need speed, precision, and the ability to strike where his sand can't protect him."
Sasuke gave a determined nod. "I'll be ready."
"And Sakura," Kakashi said, his tone softening slightly. "Shino is a methodical, calculating fighter. But with genjutsu , you'll be able to turn the tide of the battle in your favour. Trust in your chakra control and your training."
Sakura smiled, her heart swelling with a mix of excitement and resolve. "I won't let you down."
Kakashi stepped back, his voice now filled with certainty. "You're all strong in your own ways, but to win the finals, you'll need to push past your limits. We'll work harder than we ever have before, and by the end of this month, you'll be more than ready."
The trio stood straighter, feeling the weight of their sensei's words. They were ready. The month ahead would be grueling, but with Kakashi's guidance, they knew they'd emerge stronger than ever.
"Alright, let's begin," Kakashi said, his eye gleaming with pride and anticipation. "The Chunin Exams aren't going to know what hit them."
