I know! Another chapter so soon?! Damn I'm good. Would've typed a Warriors one, but I am currently more invested in this Story. Especially since I feel like I am definitely doing it right. Maybe a little quick for relationship building, but don't worry; I have it all planned out. I don't think I ever described the color of Jet's eyes. So I will be doing that now. If I have *shrugs* oh well. This is the color of her eyes now. Shit, I don't even think I've fully described her. Guess we are doing that now if that's true. Now! LET'S GO!
Chapter 17: A Trip Down Memory Lane
Cynder didn't notice that a scale had fallen off of Jet. Jet didn't feel the pain that was coursing through her body from Cynder's healing; as her focus was elsewhere, Jet's eyes were on the scale next to her. Jet gulped in anticipation as she brought her tail close to the scale. Jet took a deep breath and flipped the scale over with her tail.
Jet's heart beat faster as she saw the color on the other side of the scale. Jet thought to herself, 'I-It c-can't be. N…No way. I… I don't believe it. This must be a dream.' Cynder's voice brought Jet back to reality. "You okay Jet? You seem scared." Said Cynder. Jet shook her head and immediately smacked the scale under a nearby bed. She replied shakily, "Y-Yeah. I'm fine. Just dealing with the pain of you healing me. It did indeed hurt." Cynder giggled and said, "I know. When I healed Spyro on the night we marked one another, he yelled in excruciating pain. But. It makes sense. We did fall about two miles, but, of course, he made sure that he took the brunt of the impact."
Jet gasped quietly and muttered, "That explains the random burst of pain that dropped me to my stomach while training about two months or so ago. Even with the mark not reawakened at that point, I felt the impact he took. Makes sense. Two miles is one hell of a fall."
Cynder looked at Jet and realized she never realized exactly how attractive Jet was. Cynder examined Jet and her body. Jet had a voluptuous body. She had a very similar frame to Cynder. Jet also had an amethyst purple left eye and a jade green right eye. Jet's wings were the same color as Volteer's with a single ivory claw-like spike on each one. Her legs were almost identical to Cynder's, albeit midnight purple. Jet's tail was midnight purple with what appeared to be a yellow scimitar-esque tip at the end of it. From what Cynder could see, Jet had a blue-colored underbelly. Cynder also noticed that Jet had no spikes on her back. Cynder then noticed something else that caught her by surprise. Jet had what appeared to be purple-colored lightning bolts across the sides of her body.
Cynder asked Jet, "Did you happen to know your father?" Jet answered, "No. Only my mother." Cynder said calmly, "I think I know your father." Jet's eyes lit up and she asked, "Who is it?" Cynder answered honestly, "I think your father is the Electric Guardian, Volteer!" Jet asked, excitement clear in her voice, "What makes you think that?"
Cynder answered, "Well. You have several of the same features that he has. The lightning bolts on your body, your wing color, and the same underbelly color." Jet blushed lightly and asked, a slight hint of flirtation in her voice, "Were you checking me out? If you were, did you at least like what you see?" Cynder blushed and replied, "Don't know why you're asking me that, but I will admit, you're extremely attractive." Jet blushed more and replied, "If we are being honest with each other, you're extremely attractive too." Cynder blushed dark red. Both the dragonesses shook their heads to clear them.
Cynder felt her heart beating almost as fast as when she was near Spyro. Cynder thought to herself, 'Holy fuck. Why do I find her so attractive?! Am I bi-sexual?!' Cynder shook her head once more. Jet eyed her curiously and asked, worry clear in her voice, "Are you alright Cynder?" Cynder looked at Jet's eyes and felt herself calm down from Jet's gaze. Cynder replied, "Yeah. I'm fine. Just didn't expect such a compliment from you." Jet giggled and said, "Well. It's the truth. I gotta admit, I feel the same. It caught me off guard." Cynder said honestly, "I was speaking the truth too."
Jet was surprised but said, "Thank you Cynder. It means a lot to me." Cynder flashed a brilliant smile as she said, "Same here Jet." Noise to the left of the two dragonnesses caught their attention. Before they could get on their feet, Spyro and Lucy walked into the room. Both Spyro and Lucy looked at the two dragonnesses lying next to each other; one of Jet's front legs on one of Cynder's, their eyes wide in surprise. Spyro regained his composure swiftly and said, "Well. That's not what I expected to see when I came back, but I won't argue or complain. I am glad you two are getting closer." Spyro's eyes wandered to Jet's wings and his jaw dropped.
Lucy followed Spyro's gaze and she said, "It appears your wings have healed Jet. Wait." Lucy's eyes shot between Cynder and Jet as she took a whiff of the air, but smelled nothing out of the ordinary. Jet and Cynder got to their feet quickly. Jet said, "Cynder healed me and my wings. Afterward, we had both fully recovered and healed."
Lucy said, "Well. It's a good thing you two are getting along. Don't want any infighting in the group. Now! Spyro and I have talked about battle plans and strategies to help us in our war with Malefor's forces. We have decided the best course of action for the time being is that we currently only offer you all housing, food, and safety until we can further figure out Malefor's plan. That way, no one knows we're actually helping you so we can prepare ourselves before someone realizes."
Cynder said, "That's a brilliant idea. But I'd also recommend teaching everyone how to fight." Lucy asked, "You want us to teach everyone how to fight? Not just the lookouts and myself?" Spyro replied seriously, "Yeah. Everyone needs to know how to defend themselves in case your village is attacked. Honestly, it's a miracle Malefor's forces haven't attacked you yet. He usually destroys those that don't bend to his will."
Lucy said somberly, "He tried once. We were able to repel his forces, although at the cost of several lives including my mate's." Lucy eyed Spyro up and down and realized something. Spyro replied, "My condolences Lucy. Sorry that I wasn't here to protect your village." Lucy's eyes widened in disbelief as she said, "I remember now. You were here. You're the only reason the casualties weren't worse. "
Jet's, Cynder's, and Spyro's jaws dropped. Lucy continued, "Yeah. You were here. And then something changed. After we all thought you were slain, we all heard a scream of grief. Shortly after the scream, you changed. You became an amethyst-purple dragon. I'm assuming you activated your pure fury out of instinct." Spyro asked slowly, confusion clear in his voice, "Why would Fury help you?" Lucy tapped Spyro's shoulder with her tail discreetly and whispered in his ear, "Fury talked to me after the battle. Jet. You were in love with Jet. And Fury had no choice but to obey your wishes at that point as hearing Jet in distraught as she thought you had been slain forced your body to fill with adrenaline. So much so, that Fury had to show himself, or your heart would have most likely blown up."
Spyro opened his mouth to ask something when he was hit with a memory.
Spyro's Memory:
Spyro had just gotten done meeting with Jet. They had been meeting for just under a month now. Spyro had realized something. He was starting to fall in love with Jet. Spyro watched Jet start heading back to her village, the moon high in the sky. Spyro said once Jet was out of earshot, "I'm going to show her the cave where Ignitus taught me how to control fire. Hopefully, I can work up the courage to express how I feel about her. Ancestors, grant me the courage I'll need. Even if she doesn't feel the same, she has a right to know."
Spyro turned to return back to Sparx when he heard the sounds of battle erupt behind him. Spyro immediately bolted towards the Wyvern Village to help.
As Spyro arrived, there were bodies of Wyverns and apes surrounding the front gate. He felt something inside him change as his body erupted with flames. Spyro unleashed his fire Fury on any and all apes that approached him. He leapt into combat, becoming nothing short of a ballerina of death. Blood sprayed everywhere and coated the ground as well as Spyro. Once Spyro's Fury ended, he felt exhaustion sap his strength swiftly. He muttered, "The hell was that?" Spyro shook his head to clear it when he heard Jet's voice yell, "Spyro! Behind you!" Spyro whirled around and attempted to block the apes scimitar with his wings, but the exhaustion had slowed him down drastically. He felt nothing but the cold metal slashing across his throat.
Spyro felt himself choking on his blood as he fell to the ground. Spyro did his best to apply pressure to the wound, to no avail. As he slowly began to fade away, he heard Jet's voice scream in grief, "SPYRO NO! ANCESTORS PLEASE NO!" Just as Spyro's eyes began to close for the last time, he felt something within himself explode. He felt his heart begin to beat faster and faster until he gasped for breath. Strength flowed to every single limb and to his wings. His heart began to literally race.
As Spyro took another breath, he felt power and strength explode through his body. He let it keep building as he got to his feet. He felt time stop around him as he heard a voice in his head ask, 'The fuck are you doing? What's with this absurd amount of adrenaline?! You're going to kill us both, Spyro!' Spyro replied out loud, time seemingly stopped, "Who are you?! What's going on?!" The voice in Spyro's head sighed as it replied, 'I'm the other half of you. Every purple has two halves. Their normal self, and then the other one that allows them to use their Aether fury. At this rate, with this amount of adrenaline, you're going to be activating your Aether fury well before you're ready. Is this what you want? It could very well kill us both. One thing I definitely need to know is what caused you to fill with this amount of adrenaline at twelve.'
Spyro replied, "The hell is Aether?" the voice sighed again and replied, 'Since this is the first activation, I suppose we have plenty of time. As you can tell, time is currently stopped because of the predicament you find yourself in. Aether is the source of all magic. Only a purple dragon or dragoness can use aether. It's the most powerful magic in all of Dragon Realm. The most agreed upon reason only a purple can access it is because purples are almost always pure of heart and good. Aether magic in the wrong hands can equal total destruction of the world as we know it.' Spyro mentally nodded his agreement and the voice in his head said, 'As for who I am, my name is Fury. Now. What the actual fuck caused this amount of adrenaline to course through you?'
Spyro replied honestly, "I think it's because a dragoness I love screamed in grief as I hit the ground after my throat was slit. Speaking of, why am I still alive?" Fury chuckled as he replied, 'Well. I don't think a purple has activated their Aether fury extremely early over love. And to answer your question. You aren't. The only reason we're able to communicate is because of the adrenaline. If I don't activate your Aether fury, your heart will blow up. It's beating way too quick. And in your Aether fury, I have control to a certain extent. But you will be healed when it deactivates. Are you ready for this partner?' Spyro replied confidently, "Yes. Let's save this village." Spyro's voice changed to sound almost holy as Fury slowly took over control and said, "Couldn't have said it better myself. Sleep well, Spyro."
Jet sprinted over to Spyro's body, tears flowing from her eyes. She stood over his body as blood spewed from his neck. Jet sat next to his body and let her tears fall. She heard something approaching from behind her. She felt something inside her snap. Electricity crackled across her body as she entered an electric fury. Jet whirled around and immediately shot a powerful ball of electricity at the approaching ape. It dropped dead the moment the ball of electricity struck it, blood bursting from its chest.
Jet heard a gasp of breath from behind her and she turned around. Her jaw dropped as the slash on Spyro's neck slowly closed itself. Once it was fully closed, an amethyst purple aura surrounded Spyro. Jet watched Spyro open his eyes, and they were fully purple. Jet asked, "S-Spyro?" Spyro replied, "You must be the one that Spyro told me about. My name is Fury, Spyro's other half. Do not fret. Spyro is still alive, solely because of you." Jet felt herself blush and she asked, "W-What do you mean solely because of me? And what happened to your voice? You sound almost angelic."
Fury heard a noise behind Jet and yelled, "Get down!" Jet dropped just in time as a powerful blast of Aether magic shot from Fury's open maw that completely disintegrated the ape. Fury said to Jet, "And the answer to your question, I am not going to tell you. You'll find out. In due time." Fury turned his attention to the apes surrounding them and said, his voice booming like thunder, "Now! As for you all! You've crossed a line attacking this village and making this Wyvern cry, because you made her think her friend was killed. None of you are making it out of here alive. You all fucked up!" Fury then said, "Everyone in this village that is still alive, evacuate! I will be fine! I'll handle the trash." Jet opened her mouth to argue but Fury said quietly, "Trust me. You need to get to safety Jet." Jet asked, "H-How do you know my name?" Fury flashed a brilliant smile as he said, "Spyro and I are one. Yes, we are two halves, but we are one. I have his memories, feelings, etc. You need to retreat Jet."
Jet looked at Fury and nodded in understanding as she took off towards her mother. Fury cracked his neck and said to the apes, "Now that she's safe, I can go all out. Prepare yourself. Hope you've all said your prayers. Not that it matters. You will all be burning in Hell regardless." Fury leapt into combat, absolutely decimating the apes. Once he finished, nothing was left of the apes but enough blood to coat the houses.
Fury shook his body to remove the blood on it. He heard something approach him from behind and whirled around, about to blast the potential foe with Aether when he recognized the Wyvern. The beautiful brown and white wyvern said, with tears in its eyes, "My name is Lucy. I'm Jet's adoptive mother. What happened here? And who are you?" Fury replied calmly, "I am the other half of Spyro. And what do you mean by what happened here? I took care of the apes bothering you and your village." Lucy replied, "But why did you show up?" Fury replied, "Ah! That. Spyro has been meeting your daughter at night going on a month now I think. When he heard the sounds of battle as he turned to leave from their meeting place, he immediately sprinted here." Fury walked over and gently wiped the tears off of Lucy's face with his tail and asked, "What happened?" Lucy looked at the young dragon in shock, but responded, "My mate was killed in this assault. Why do you care?"
Fury replied, "Because. Spyro loves your daughter and as a result, so do I. Meaning you are family, and family's always there for one another. If your daughter hadn't seen Spyro get slain, he would not have made it. Her scream of grief was more than enough to pump his body full of adrenaline. A little too much if I do say so myself. Had I not shown up and unleashed his Aether Fury, his heart would've exploded."
Lucy's eyes widened in disbelief but she asked, "And why does Spyro love my daughter?" Fury chuckled and asked, "Want the long complicated story, or the short simple one?" Lucy said, "I want the long one." Fury whistled and said, "You might want to take a seat." After Lucy had sat down, Fury began to explain why Spyro was in love with Jet.
After Fury finished explaining why Spyro loved Jet to Lucy, the sun was beginning to rise. Lucy took a moment before she said, "I see. That makes sense to me, but why Jet?" Fury responded, "Only the Ancestors know. My assumption is they're planning something big. Spyro is a very special Dragon, just like your daughter is a very special Dragoness. They're destined for one another at the very least." Lucy nodded her understanding and said, "Thank you. For sitting here and chatting with me. You managed to take my mind off of the terrible events from last night at the very least." Fury smiled and said, "Of course. Think about what we talked about until we inevitably meet again. I however have a feeling you will meet Spyro next time." Lucy nodded her understanding and turned around to return to her home. She cast a look behind Fury and Fury followed her gaze to a dead Wyvern. Fury walked over to the body and said quietly, "You fought valiantly, Warrior. May the Ancestors welcome you with open arms. Sorry I didn't arrive sooner."
Once Lucy and Jet were no longer in sight, Fury said, "Wake up partner. You're fully healed and should be regaining control here shortly." Spyro replied groggily, 'W-Wh-What happened?' Fury replied, "I took care of the situation. However, you should tell Jet that you love her, partner." Spyro replied mentally, as he was no longer in control, 'I will. Eventually.' Fury shook his head in disbelief and said, "You forced your Aether fury to activate extremely early for love. That means something. My assumption is that she's special. Just like you. You need to let her know before you go fight Cynder." Spyro replied, 'Yeah. I know. I will. I promise.' Fury said, his voice slowly becoming Spyro's as Fury relinquished control back to Spyro, "I will hold you to it. She seems like a good dragoness. Those are very hard to find nowadays."
Back in the Present:
Spyro almost fell to his stomach, but was caught by Cynder and Jet. Cynder asked, "Are you alright, Spy?" Spyro replied, "Yeah. I remembered that night. The first time I activated my Aether fury. It was much earlier than usual. All because Jet howled in grief and ran over crying. She did think I died. Well. I was actually dead. The adrenaline coursing through my body after hearing Jet howl in grief, kept my heart beating when it shouldn't have been. Fury activated my Pure Aether fury which resulted in the slash across my throat to heal. So. I didn't always have a Dark Aether fury. When I jumped into the Dark Aether beam to save you Cynder, I was in my Pure Fury. It corrupted my fury, but I managed to save you from falling a great height. I'd call that a win."
Cynder looked at Jet and asked, "Do you remember that night?" Jet shook her head and said, "N-No I don't." Lucy said, "Well. That would count as trauma. Watching your first friend die in front of you. So that makes sense." Spyro gasped in disbelief and muttered, "W-Would that moment have been enough for her scales to change? It was a traumatic event. But that doesn't make sense! It would've had to be at some point in her childhood!
Cynder looked at Spyro and said, "So. You've remembered more of your past with Jet. That's a good thing." Spyro looked at Cynder, shock clear in his expression. Cynder giggled and said, "I know. But like I said earlier. I was wrong about her." Spyro nodded his understanding and Lucy said, "Now. We all could use some rest. However, I have a favor to ask of Cynder and Jet." Both dragonesses looked at Lucy as she continued, "Make sure Spyro sleeps tonight. He's been through some shit today." Cynder and Jet said in unison, "Of course."
That Night:
Spyro had not fallen asleep, but he managed to trick Jet and Cynder into thinking he was sleeping. The two Dragonesses talked until midnight. After another hour, Spyro was sure they were sleeping and he unfurled his wings from around Cynder. He felt his wings graze something on his left. Spyro looked over to his left and saw that he had accidentally put a small part of his wings around Jet. Spyro thanked the Ancestors that nobody noticed. Spyro got out of bed quietly and stretched. As he stretched, his body cracked several times. Spyro made sure that the noise hadn't woken the dragonesses and walked out of the room.
Spyro snuck out of Lucy's house and took to the sky silently. As he flew, he looked below him to spot the river that had caused him to fall the first time. Once he spotted it, he dove to the ground and landed quietly. A masculine voice behind him caused Spyro to jump. "You're becoming predictable buddy." said the voice. Spyro sighed and said, "Hey Hunter." Hunter leapt out of a tree and landed quietly. Spyro asked, "Did Lucy ask you to keep an eye on me too?"
Hunter shook his head and said, "Ancestors no. But I know you. You'd want answers. Decided to sneak out of my room earlier and wait for you here." Spyro asked, "So you know about this place?" Hunter chuckled and said, "Since you're figuring it out, I suppose I can tell you now. That night when Jet and I went hunting, she told me all about her history with you. I've known you marked her from then on and that she marked you." Spyro said, "And you've kept it a secret this long?" Hunter nodded and said, "Indeed. So. Why don't we take a trip down memory lane together, Spyro?"
Spyro eyed Hunter curiously and Hunter said, "Oh calm yourself man. I am not a spy nor has Malefor corrupted me. I just haven't been sleeping well these past few days. Been trying to work up the courage to tell Gloria how I feel. You know how it is." Spyro sighed in relief and said, "Sorry about that. You were talking and acting differently than usual. Indeed I do." Spyro eyed the area around him when he saw a red stain.
Spyro walked over to the blood stain and was hit with a memory.
The First Night Spyro met Jet:
Spyro had told Sparx to stay put so he could check out some noises he had heard. As Spyro walked around familiar territory, he managed to see what appeared to be a Wyvern near the river applying mud to itself. Spyro approached cautiously, prepared to fight if the need arised. As he got closer to the Wyvern, he caused the bushes to rustle around him. The Wyvern whirled around as Spyro walked out of the bushes.
The Wyvern seemed to be afraid of Spyro and his presence. Spyro said calmly, "It's alright. I'm not a threat." Spyro thought, 'Please don't attack me. I would much rather not have to defend myself at this moment. Too much on my mind.' Spyro saw the Wyvern appear to calm down, but it kept its guard up.
Spyro examined the Wyvern and noticed a midnight purplish spot on its tail. Spyro thought, 'A dragon? The hell? Why is a dragon applying mud to itself to disguise as a Wyvern?' Spyro said, "Strange to see a Wyvern applying mud to itself wouldn't you say?" The Wyvern kept quiet, still afraid of Spyro's presence. Spyro said, "You missed a spot. On your tail. It's strange how the spot you missed has a midnight purplish color. Never heard of a Wyvern with the colors of a dragon. Funny."
The Wyvern finally spoke, its voice feminine, "I-I don't know what y-you're t-talking about." Spyro smiled and said, "Of course not. Oh Ancestors no! We forgot introductions. My name's Spyro. What's yours?" Spyro thought to himself, 'It's like she has had bad experiences with dragons. She's still terrified of me. Malefor, I swear to the Ancestors, if you're going after young female dragons, we will have even more problems. Actually, if you are going after young dragons for any reason, I swear to the Ancestors that I will be the death of you.' Spyro sat down to further assure the Wyvern that he was not a threat to her.
Spyro saw the Wyvern's body language get looser, signifying that it felt safe, for the most part, around him. The Wyvern said, still stuttering every once in a while, "M-My name is J-Jet." Spyro beamed and said, "Jet. A beautiful name! It suits you well." Spyro watched Jet's cheeks become slightly red as she asked, "Why are you complimenting me?" Spyro retorted calmly, "Am I not allowed to compliment others?"
Jet said, "It's not that! You just met me!" Spyro chuckled lightly and said, "It's the way I was raised." Jet responded, "Must have some great parents then." Spyro thought back to his adoptive dragonfly parents, Flash and Nina, and replied, "I do."
Spyro asked, "So. What's a lone Wyvern like you doing out here applying mud to yourself?" Spyro watched Jet look at him. Spyro assumed that Jet was trying to decide if he was trustworthy. Jet finally spoke, "Fine! You caught me! I am not a Wyvern. I am a dragon. I got lost about a week ago. I was running from something. I don't remember what, when I fell into some mud. The noise of me running away, from whatever it was, drew the attention of a nearby Wyvern village. Several Wyverns came to investigate the noise, only to find me. Since I was covered in mud, they couldn't tell I was a dragon. They thought I was a Wyvern who had gotten separated from their parents. Now I'm scared to see what happens if they find out I'm a dragon!"
Spyro eyed Jet and thought to himself, 'She does realize Wyverns have two legs, not four right? Then again, I've heard rumors of birth defects in Wyverns which causes them to have four legs when they hatch.'
Spyro said, "You can always come with me. It'd be nice to have a companion besides my brother Sparx." Jet said seriously, "Are you out of your mind?! Did you seriously think just because you're a dragon like myself, I'd just go with you?! We just met. You could have malicious intent. I will not be going with you." Spyro responded calmly, "Alright. But, I will be coming here nightly to make sure you're still okay. It's your choice to meet me or not. I would rather not have anyone get hurt. Not while I can help it." Spyro watched Jet eye him up and down, trying to detect any form of malicious intent. Jet said, "You're asking me to meet you nightly."
Jet appeared to be deep in thought. She finally said to Spyro, "Tell you what Spyro. I'll think about it." Spyro replied, "That's all I can ask." Spyro and Jet heard the bushes rustle around them and instinct took over for Spyro as he leapt in front of Jet. He said over his shoulder, "Go! I got this!" Spyro heard Jet take off. Spyro eyed the apes around him as he prepared to fight.
Once Spyro had taken care of the apes, he thought, 'Why would instinct cause me to jump in front of her to protect her? I would've done it regardless, but something about it seemed… different. Like I've done it before, or will do it in the future.' Spyro looked at the bodies of the apes and sighed. He dragged the bodies away with a limp.
Once he was finished he looked around and saw a red crystal. He sighed in relief as he walked over and broke it. Little red gems popped out and he walked over them. His wounds healed quickly. Spyro said, "Perfect. Now. To get back to Sparx."
Back in the Present:
Spyro collapsed on the spot as if a large boulder had landed on him. Hunter asked, "You alright man?" Spyro took a deep breath. He asked, "Why the fuck does it feel like a boulder landed on me when I remember more about Jet?" Hunter replied honestly, "It's probably because Fury is also remembering. Which means he's slowly reawakening. You did activate your Aether Fury because of Jet. Have you managed to calm him?" Spyro replied, "How did you know that? And I haven't even tried to talk to him since Cynder and I confessed."
Hunter said, "I may have been eavesdropping on the conversation you, Lucy, Cynder, and Jet had earlier today. Anyhow. That makes sense. But you need to keep in mind, he is a part of you. You need to find a way to purify him yourself, or eventually he will break free again." Spyro thought for a minute and said, "What if I were to jump through a pure Aether beam while in my dark fury?" Hunter replied, "That's not a bad idea. But you'd need to wrestle Fury for control because I doubt he'd willingly fly into a pure Aether beam to purify himself."
Spyro said, "I bet he'd do it for Jet. Fury has my feelings, emotions, etc. And he's met Jet. And since I used to love Jet, and probably still do; somewhere in my psyche, he'll do it for her because if I love Jet, so does he. It wouldn't work for Cynder though, because I didn't love Cynder when Fury was Pure. I loved Jet when Fury was pure. He'll listen to her. I know he will."
Hunter said, "That's a crazy move Spyro. Because Fury could kill us all in a matter of seconds. But it's just crazy enough to work. Question is, where the fuck are we gonna find a pure Aether beam?"
Spyro thought about it for a moment and asked, "What about the beam where I fought Cynder in her adult form? Was that floating island ever destroyed?" Hunter answered, "We were never able to find it. Why?"
Spyro replied, "I'm willing to bet Malefor used some sort of illusion magic to hide it before I found it. I vaguely remember where it is. And when I jumped through the dark Aether beam that corrupted Fury, I bet my purity purified the beam."
Hunter's eyes widened as he realized what Spyro was saying and he said, "You think the island's still even there?" Spyro nodded and said, "But. I'm willing to bet that Malefor's forces are there in full force. And if I'm correct, they're also trying to find a way to corrupt the beam again, but they're too stupid to understand that only a purple can manipulate Aether. It should still be purified unless Malefor went to it before Cynder and I destroyed him. Which I doubt. He probably made another Dark Aether beam monument somewhere. So. Since I don't know where to find the other one, we will be heading back to the area where I fought Cynder. Just gotta find our way to the swamp where Sparx and I were raised. I can lead us from there." Hunter said, "Alright Spyro. Let's do this."
Spyro and Hunter walked back to the Wyvern Village. As they walked back, Spyro filled in Hunter about what he had remembered about his relationship with Jet.
There we go! Now we're getting somewhere in moving this story forward. Until next time, HappytheExceed16, logging out. May the Ancestors watch over you all!
