Sniffing the air I glance at C.R seeing her look up frowning while picking up Lee "you notice it too right?" She asks.
I nod looking back to the area that's caught our attention seeing a woman come out, I frown taking Lee before C.R starts nudging me back.
Stepping back into the house I jump back as C.R screams before rushing in slamming the door at the woman that had an extreme burst of speed and charged us.
"What the fuck is she" C.R asks sounding panicked.
"Don't know but you realize that door is a sliding glass door right?" I ask stepping back more as the woman taps the glass causing her dress to raise slightly off her feet.
"Becca what's up with her feet"
Shaking my head I grab the scale Scarlett gave me "help, woman with backwards feet just chased us" I whisper.
Glancing at C.R I see her on the phone while watching the woman "so I found a few different names but she looks more like what a Churel is described as".
"A fucking what?" I demand holding Lee closer.
"Some female shape shifter" she says before the woman slams her hand on the door
"Becca, you need to put Lee somewhere safe"
"Oh where is that? If you haven't noticed we're alone with a creepy ass woman trying to get in" I snap seeing her trying to yank the door.
Seeing cracks forming on the door I grit my teeth holding Lee closer as he screams with tears down his face "leave now" C.R orders standing taller while putting herself between us and her.
"Becca go hide" she hisses.
Taking a step backwards I freeze seeing her stop moving while our eyes lock, her lips curl back into a snarl and I shiver feeling sick at the sight of her rotten teeth before hearing her laugh.
"C.R, don't" I warn grabbing her shirt stopping her.
Taking a step back I pull her with me "grab my car keys when we get close enough, then we run" I whisper.
She nods grabbing a display letter opener Lily put up with our pack crest as we pass it, continuing to move back as the glass cracks more.
"I have an idea, but we have to move fast" C.R says.
Glancing at the letter opener I frown trying to think of what she's planning, this shifter hasn't taken her eyes off me I don't want to accidentally give away anything.
Reaching the keys I adjust Lee as C.R grabs the keys keeping them as silent as possible, reaching the stairs I turn us like we're about to back up them and lift a foot on a step.
Hearing the glass give I take the keys and run for the front door while hearing a loud high pitch scream from behind me.
Reaching the car I climb in the driver's seat with Lee starting the car just as C.R jumps in taking him from me, throwing us in reverse I see the shifter come out limping slightly as C.R yells for me to hurry.
Switching to drive I quickly turn us taking off "what the actual fuck is going on" I demand seeing the exit block by other creatures.
