Savage Tomatoes with Special New Friend
When Crash heard from his girlfriend that she is going to help the Planter family make pizza for this year's Pot Luck to keep them from being in the Shame Cage, he thought it was gonna be fun despite having to go through things like getting Sprig a fiancé and surviving some dangerous bugs.
The last ingredient they need to get are the tomatoes and Crash thought it was gonna be easy despite the warning from Hop Pop, but how dangerous can the tomatoes be in this world?
Well, Crash and Anne along with Sprig and Polly soon got their answer when they finally come across the tomatoes and they are NOT that he expected them to be.
Apparently, the tomatoes in Amphibia are very dangerous because they are really big plant monsters guarding the not-monster tomatoes at the base of their roots and one of them just ate a dragonfly that was just passing by.
"Ho…" Polly started.
"ly…" Sprig was surprised.
"…tomato." Anne finished the sentence as she looks at the fresh tomatoes right there waiting to be harvested, but the tomato monsters are in the way while Crash whistled in shock.
"You know, this baby's got some great substitutes, all of which are delightfully harmless." Hop Pop mentioned as he and the family walked backward to get away from the tomato monsters.
"Couldn't hurt to hear a few options." Sprig started to agree with his grandpa on that.
"Hold on!" Anne stopped the Planters from leaving.
"Guys, the shame cage isn't just in the town square. It's up here. You're not gonna change the world without taking a few risks. We need to be bold, groundbreaking, brave!" Anne encouraged the family to not let this stupid vegetable thing get in the way of their destiny.
"Anne, there's a big difference between courage and stupidity!" Hop Pop pointed out while Crash pushed him out of the way from being grabbed by a vine and he kicked it away.
The tomato monster roars at Crash who roars back while pounding his chest like a gorilla to show that he is not afraid of that thing.
"Yeah, go get him, Crash!" Polly cheered.
"I'm not sure if Crash should be fighting those things." Hop Pop felt worried that this might be a little too much for Crash to handle alone.
"You're right, we still have the Pot Luck to get to!" Anne realized that they're on a timer.
"Crash! Don't worry about winning the fight! Just get the tomatoes!" Anne advised, Crash nods before charging in.
"Actually, I was hoping we could get away from this place together and look at the substitute." Hop Pop said.
Crash charges at the tomato monsters dodging some vines that are trying to grab him, and he jumps high to kick the right one under the chin and swings on a vine that was coming for him, posing some kung fu moves then dodging some attacks to jumping on one of the heads.
Crash starts pounding his fists on the left tomato head to annoy the beastly fruit monster which seems to work as it roars and shakes its head to throw him off.
"Yeah! Go Crash, you got this!" Anne cheered.
While Crash is having a blast with fighting off the fruit monsters, he knew that he has to finish this fight and get the tomatoes.
But before he could intact his plan, one of the vines finally managed to grab hold of his leg to swing him around and then threw him down into the mouth of the center head.
"No! Everyone shouted in fear.
"Crash has been eaten by giant vegetables!" Sprig gasped.
"Technically, tomatoes are fruits, not vegetables. It's a common mistake." Hop Pop pointed out.
"Who the fuck cares about that? We need to save my boyfriend!" Anne was about to go in to find some way to save Crash from being digested.
"I don't think that's a good idea."
"Polly! Now is not the time trying to sound like a grownup!" Anne yelled.
"But that wasn't me. I didn't even say anything." Polly said. The voice just now didn't even sound like her at all.
"Wait, if that wasn't you then who?" Anne asked.
Right on cue, a figure drops from above and right in front of the group as they are shocked to see something unexpected and weird at the same time, and she even has this punk vibe from the looks of her outfit and hairstyle.
"Whoa, you look really cool!" Anne complimented the new arrival.
"Thanks, I've always been more of a rebel for the right cause kinda gal." The female creature smirked.
"Okay, who the heck are you and why are you here?" Sprig asked.
"My name is Warwna, I'm a Bandicoot." Warwna revealed her name.
Warwna is a tall, mutant bandicoot with orange fur, a cream-colored muzzle and blue eyes. She has short blond hair partially dyed cyan and styled into a large, spiky fauxhawk. She wears a pink top with a blue and yellow line decal on the chest, a blue bandanna around her neck, a brown short-sleeved leather jacket with spikes on the shoulders, fingerless (except for the ring fingers) leather gloves with metal braces, blue patched pants with two brown leather belts, dark brown steel-toed boots with pink leg warmers and three golden earrings in her right ear. She also wears a blue sports bra and boyshorts with pink trim as her underwear. Breasts size: H-cup.
"As for why I'm here. It was to stop this girl from getting herself caught by the tomato monsters making this more difficult for the other guy to fight it." Warwna answered the second question.
"But what am I supposed to do? I can't leave my boyfriend in the stomach of that thing!" Anne worried about him.
"Not unless you have a way to make those things spit him out." Warwna pointed out that Anne can't fight them.
"If only Crash could control them like he did with the other creatures." Sprig mentioned in worry.
"Wait, he can what now?" Warwna was surprised to hear that.
"It won't matter because it's my fault that I wanted to make pizza with you guys, and I let that stuff get into my head too much." Anne felt like this is her fault.
"I'm really sorry that I got us into this mess. I just wanted to share something me and Crash eat back in our world." Anne apologized.
The tomato monsters turn their attention to the group launching their vines at them only for Warwna to react by launching her grappling hook to intercept the vines.
"Ah, I didn't care about that pizza stuff anyway. But you were really trying to help this family out, and that's worth something in my book." Hop Pop smiled, seeing that Anne was just doing her best to help the family.
"If you're done with the family moment, we need to get clear away from here." Warwna said.
"Wait, book!" Anne just got an idea when Hop Pop said "book" in that sentence.
"That's it. Is there anything in the old ways that could help Crash right now?" Anne asked.
"Well, they don't have any old stain spots which is good, but the only thing that says here is the throat of this giant tomato plant is absolutely delicious eaten raw." Hop Pop read the book.
"That's it, if I know my man well enough then he should be thinking about eating his way out." Anne hoped she's right.
Suddenly the tomato monsters started growing in pain like there is something wrong with its stomach, and that something came bursting out in the form of Crash Bandicoot having eaten his way out of the monster realizing that this creature is food like any other fruit.
Crash shouted cheering for victory that he survives being eaten by a stupid vegetable wannabe.
"He's alive!" Hop Pop shouted as well.
"Crash!" Anne ran up to her boyfriend giving him a big hug.
"I'm so sorry you got eaten; I promise not to put you in danger like that." Anne declared. But Crash gibberish assures her that he is going to keep charging into danger to keep his beloved safe and a little bit of fun.
"Oh you, you crazy boy!" Anne smiled and they kissed.
"Whoa, if I knew you two were going to do that then I would've turn around." Warwna said, not much into the romance stuff.
"Oh, Crash! We just met a new friend, her name is Warwna and she's a humanoid Bandicoot!" Anne introduced him to Warwna.
Crash whistles at how fine and awesome this new friend is.
"Did you just say that you and him are from another world?" Warwna asked.
"Yeah, pretty awesome, right?" Anne asked.
This brought a thought into Warwna that her theory on them being from other worlds is true which could also mean they could be something this world needs, but she's not sure if these two are really the ones.
"I'll ask you more about it later. I believe you were getting yourselves some tomatoes." Warwna pointed at the now unguarded tomatoes with her thumb.
"The tomatoes! The pizza!" Anne remembered all that just now.
They heard the bell toll to tell anyone who is competing in the Pot Luck that the competition is about to start soon.
"There isn't much time. We need to start making that pizza!" Anne said.
They quickly grab the tomatoes and hurry back to the house making that pizza from the experience and memories, and they barley had enough time to finish the pizza before the Pot Luck could officially start.
"Yes! We got here just in time!" Anne and Hop Pop cheered.
Toadie blew a trumpet signaling the Pot Luck can now begin, and Mayor Toadstool comes in with shoving Toadie down.
"All right! Let the annual potluck begin! Let's get to tastin' those dishes." Mayor Toadstool announced.
Mayor Toadstool got through each contestant tasting their dishes and finding them to be delicious each feeling like one of them is going to be the big winner this year.
"And last, but not least-the Plantars." Mayor Toadstool sighed, seeing this pathetic family entering the Pot Luck again.
"What filth have you cooked up this ti- Hmm? Now what do we have here?" Mayor Toadstool became curious about this new thing that appeared to be food.
"It's called pizza, made from dough, cheese, and sauce made from tomatoes." Hop Pop introduced this new food.
"Tomato? That's awfully dangerous." Mayor Toadstool grinned, now wanting to see how it tastes.
"Oh, and I see you added some flies and crunchy bites of other bugs." Mayor Toadstool noticed those things.
"The toppings were Crash's idea. He wanted to make something with a touch of frog for the taste with a little pepper." Anne explained and Crash nods to confirm this.
"Oh, now I really want to give this a try." Mayor Toadstool rubbed his hands together as Crash use the knife to cut a piece for the mayor to eat.
Mayor Toadstool look at the slice of pizza for a little moment and then took one bite of half of the pizza, chewing it and letting the flavor sink into his tongue and mind, then his eyes widen of the unexpected as he can feel something incredible coming from this new food.
"My, my, I can't believe I'm saying this, but… this is a far better dish than anything you folks have made in previous years!" Mayor Toadstool was amazed.
"What? Did we do it? Did we actually win?" Sprig asked in shock, really hoping that he's right.
"Win? Now, let me see here…" Mayor Toadstool took a moment to think about the amazing tastes he got from the other dishes including the pizza, thinking really hard about this.
"You know what? I declare the Plantars have indeed won the Pot Luck!" Mayor Toadstool announced with a wide smile on his face.
Everyone gasped in shock to hear that the Plantar family actually won this year's Pot Luck, something that hasn't been done in many, many years, and they all cheer for the family's victory of finally getting out of the losing streak.
"We won!" Anne cheered.
"We won? We actually won! I can't believe it; the ancestors are going to be so please!" Hop Pop smiled, feeling the tears of joy coming down from his eyes.
"In your face, everyone! You thought it couldn't be done, that it would never happen. Well, in your damn faces!" Polly dragged with a grin.
"Oh yeah, no Shame Cage for the Plantar family!" Sprig hopped around in joy.
Crash shouts in excitement and said to about what they're going to have for dinner.
"Oh, we're having…" Anne smiled.

"Pizza victory party!" Anne declared and everyone took a slice putting them together like clapping cups.
"Making this pizza was really hard and almost killed us, but it was all worth it!" Sprig felt really happy for his family.
"I have to admit, it was a crazy day to do something new, but it wasn't all bad since we won the Pot Luck and the experience in making the pizza was quite fun even though we almost had to face the tomato monster." Hop Pop commented.
"Dips on the second slice!" Polly declared and was about to reach for another slice of pizza, but Crash swipes it away.
"Hey!" Polly yelled at Crash.
Crash that he is going to give this slice to Warwna for helping them out earlier.
"Oh yeah, she did protect us from the monster. I guess it's the least we can do." Anne said.
They heard knocking from the front door and Crash hurry over to see that Warwna is right outside leaning on the frame of the door.
"Hey, got a little snack for me?" Warwna asked.
Crash gibberish to her that he saved a slice for her to try out pizza as he hands her the slice as a way of thanking her for protecting Anne and the frog family, but Warwna has no idea what he just said that all she could hear was some weird sounds coming from his mouth.
"Thanks, I guess." Warwna hoped he was thanking her.
"You wanna come inside, we're celebrating!" Anne offered Warwna to hang out with her.
"Nah, I'm good. Actually, I'm here to have a little talk with you for a bit. If that's okay." Warwna said.
"Oh, okay." Anne said, coming outside and closing the door.
"So, you guys are from another world and according to your pink frog friend, this guy has powers to control other creatures." Warwna said.
"Yeah, I don't know how Crash is doing it and neither does he, but it's like he always had that power and never came up before we've found ourselves in the forest before showing up in Wartwood Swamp." Anne explained while Crash is looking at his hands still wondering about his power too.
"Well, I'm gonna have to see it for myself, but I can tell you're telling the truth." Warwna nodded.
"Tell me, are you two the only ones who came to this world?" Warwna asked.
"No, we actually have two other humans like us, but we got separated from them and we have no idea where they are." Anne answered, mentioning her two best friends.
"Well, what would you say if I told you right now that there are others like you four? More people from other worlds." Warwna asked, giving them a hint about otherworldly people.
Crash and Anne became shocked to hear this as they look at each other for a second and then back to the bandicoot woman.
"You mean there are other humans out there? Here?" Anne asked.
"I didn't say they were humans, but I guess they resemble to humans like you two. But they are very different on the inside. And I'm telling you this now because there is something in Amphibia that is very dangerous, and you guys need to be prepared for when you face that danger." Warwna said as she took a bite of the pizza slice.
"You'll need to be strong enough to help this world be free from its own darkness." Warwna advised.
Crash asks her what she means by that.
"He's asking what do you mean by that?" Anne translated.
"Can't tell you more, not until I know you guys can handle things beyond this village. We'll meet again, I can promise you that." Warwna finished her pizza and walked away.
"Thanks for the pizza." Warwna waved goodbye.
Crash started to get worried about this danger he and Anne will have to face, wondering if Marcy and Sasha are going to be a part of this too, and he hopes to figure out more about his power because something tells him that he's gonna need every ounce of it.

The pizza mission was success that won the Plantar family the Pot Luck to not be put in the Shame Cage, and introducing pizza to the frogs, but Crash and Anne was informed by their new friend Warwna telling them about more otherworldly beings and that they need to be ready.
