Hogwarts Stranger Secrets Year 1

Chapter 6 of my crossover story, enjoy.

Reviews:

Boris Yeltsin: Yeah well, the problem there is, there's nothing to prove it, even the note wouldn't help as it's destroyed, plus remember, Angela is a respectable Pure-Blood while Jane has no knowledge of her family so nobody knows.
Wolfgirl2013: Thanks :)

Now onto the story.

Chapter 6

Jane bit her lip as she considered her situation, it was amazing to her that, after what happened in her past, she was here, at Hogwarts. She was getting to spend her time being a normal eleven year old student. Of course, it wasn't all wonderful, thanks to Angela and her minions Troy and James. They were typical bullies, although thankfully, after seeing that Jane was still around after the Devil's Snare incident, Angela had been shocked but never tried to do something like that again. She had managed to find herself feeling more and more open, mainly as she was now spending more time with the boys, while truly grateful to them for saving her, they didn't treat her as if she owed them or anything, they gladly befriended her and treated her as an equal, something she was definitely not used to. To a lesser extent, something similar happened between her and Ilya Bonderenko, as well as between Ilya and the boys.

'We...we really have formed into a real friend group.' She reflected happily.

So it was that she was amazed at how much time had passed, that she had been at Hogwarts for well over a month, nearly two as it was approaching the Halloween Feast. Things were already building towards that event, the feast was the main topic of conversation on the morning of the thirty-first of October. Jane was intrigued by some of the things she heard, rumours of giant pumpkins being provided by Hagrid, the headmaster preparing to use a spell to give them a troop of dancing skeletons to bring some entertainment, it was certainly something to look forward too.

Leaving her last class for the day, Charms, Jane let out a sigh of relief, it had been a pretty great day overall and she had done well in class, being the first to cast the Levitation Charm. Unfortunately that good feeling didn't last long, for sure enough at that point she heard the familiar snark of Angela's voice behind her.

"Well, look at you all full of yourself, think you're special just because you can cast a spell." She sneered. Jane turned to face her and saw her look of smug superiority. "But you can't even talk proper, not without all those boys around to protect you, pathetic."

Jane shook her head, and quirked an eyebrow at the snickering James and Troy. "Funny you say that, I'm here alone...while you're flanking by two boys."

Angela spluttered at that, glaring angrily, shocked at the comeback. Shaking her head at this, Jane turned and left, knowing Angela couldn't do more than that and as such, she was not caring much about the girl and her minions, she had things to look forward to like the feast. But right now, she was determined to head out and clear her head first. So she made her way down from the class towards the Great Hall and from there she made her way outside and headed down to the lake.

Reaching the edge of the lake, Jane smiled and sat down, leaning back against the tree, looking over the lake and smiling as she began to relax, letting her troubles fade away. She looked out over the peaceful lake, it was so beautiful this time of year. A light breeze ruffles the grass as El brushed off her skirt and closed her eyes for a moment, inhaling the sweet smell of the lake and grass. That was until she heard something, footsteps, many footsteps, too many. She opened her eyes, confused and looked over her shoulder, only to freeze in terror at the sight of at least five cloaked figures emerging from the forest, approaching her with wands drawn. She recognized those cloaks, the symbols on the front.

"N-no…" She gasped, struggling to get to her feet.

"Don't even try running, Eleven." One of them called out to her, taking aim with his wand. "Incarcerous."

Jane quickly dodged, reacting out of panic, only just avoiding being hit by the ropes which hit the tree instead.

"No, go away!" She cried.

It was them. His men, the Dark Wizard Brenner who had held her prisoner for so much of her life. That his men were here after the Auror Raid that saw many of his men arrested, but not him, and saved her. It told her right away that they were here on Brenner's orders, no doubt seeking to 'reclaim what was taken from him'.

She tried to desperately draw her wand when she heard several shouts and saw Mike, Will, Lucas and Dustin were running, wands already drawn and trying to do whatever they could. Truthfully they were all first years, there wasn't much they could do. The men just laughed and used the Incarcerous spell before the boys could react and Jane could only let out a cry of dismay as all four boys fell to the ground, struggling and trying to cry out. But the ropes had them bound from the ankles right up to their mouths and pinning them, their wands useless. Jane had managed to draw her own wand and, doing the only thing she could, relying on what she quickly pieced together, she cast her spell.

"Wingardium Leviosa." She incanted.

In doing so she lifted up a large rock, she then did her best to throw it at the men. One of them sneered and blasted it apart.

"Such foolish resistance, you shouldn't have done that-!" He called out.

He then launched a stunner at her, only for an unexpected spell to be cast.

"Protego!"

All eyes turned to the caster as the stunner bounced off the shield. It was Ilya.

"A first year, casting a spell like that?!" One man gasped.

Ilya snarled. "Easily done after being trained for years by my dad, he knows how to deal with dark wizards like you lot."

"What's goin' on 'ere!"

Now Hagrid was rushing up to them and that seemed to be more than enough for the Dark Magicals who quickly ran off. Hagrid had no choice but to let them go however as he turned his attention to making sure El was alright and helping Ilya free the other boys.

There was certainly shock amongst the boys, not only at Ilya's skills but also that those men were after Jane. She was unable to tell them however, also being too scared to do so. But they all reassured her and soon she was escorted to the Feast, in hopes of helping her calm down, while reporting this to the teachers in hopes of ensuring those Dark Magicals could not come back.
