I have so many ideas to find Selene, but I need suggestions.
Leo sniffled as they stood at the Pine Tree, where the Camp Line was set. There at the line was large black boy just a touch older than Mason, smiling at them with a ton of warmth.
"Dad tells me your name is Leo. I'm Charlie Beckendorf, your older brother. I know your scared, and you don't want to leave your friend-"
"Brother, Mason's my brother. He was teaching me magic, and bought me new clothes and taught me to fight and-"
Charlie held out his hand. "I am sorry, I know you don't want to leave your brother... but this is a nice place, awesome and safe. We can show you how to control your powers."
Leo lit his hand on fire, startling Charlie. "Even this one?"
"Gods, no one's had that power in centuries..." He nodded though. "Yes, we can help you control that, too."
Mason sighed, kneeling. "Leo, we don't really have a choice Zeus commanded it." He pulled out a hex bag, one Leo had never seen before. "I put a ton of power into this. It will protect you from harm, any harm. It's rechargable, just like I showed you. Never forget, I am always with you. Ganymede showed us both how to use Iris messaging, we can talk whenever we want."
Leo threw himself in his brother's arms. "I won't forget you... I promise."
"I know, kiddo... I know. Now, go and kick ass and take names."
Leo giggled a little before following his other god brother toward the Camp and away from the First Family he had since his mother had died.
'I'll be good, get strong and learn all I can. I won't tell anyone about Gaea, and one day I will find Mason again... I promise.'
:::
Mason almost cried as Leo walked away, his heart aching. 'Zeus may be an asshole, but this really is for the best. Leo needs stability and structure, he needs lessons on power and purpose. He will get that here, and I will love him through it.' He turned and looked skyward. "Beata Luna, deduc me ad tuam deam." While not a true spell, the magic he laced into the words charged them enough to make them a really loud prayer.
Or, so he hoped.
He almost flinched when his hoodie burned cold, the essence of Selene tingled around him.
' Find me at my start... at my end... and find me the edge of sleep.'
And he frowned. "What does that even mean?" Then, oddly, it came to him. "Sleep... Endymion? Your husband, cursed to be immortal through sleep? Why didn't I think of that? He is immortal, but human, he would be easier to track. But where would he be, with the gods having moved to this country?" Groaning, he started walking. "Well, if I was going to your start, I would go to the East, since that is where the moon rises... maybe your nephew Zephyrus can help me? Where would that take me, I wish I knew more...I need an oracle, or become a diviner. That would at least clear things up.
First I think I'll go to my apartment, get restocked, check my garden and maybe cast a spell to find the God of the East Wind... yeah, that sounds like a good idea. Wait, my hoodie, it has her essence, so I should be able to track her down through that... I am a genius. A tracking spell of that degree, would require serious power though... I need to work on it, and wait until the moon is full. That is in another month. I have time, I can use that to get stronger... and I will."
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
This was a joy to write.
