"Wow!" Leo said, looking at Mason's new cornicopia of books from the Witch Priestess Agnes through Iris' rainbow. Over a thirty new books and a bunch of potion supplies, all ones dedicated to healing and warding. "You are going to get so powerful, with all of that."

"There are books on controlling the Mist as well as some combat books, but mostly it's healing and warding, so yes I will." He seemed smug, his brother, but also sad. "Agnes could have been a good friend, instead she died for her goddess... it was a sad thing but what happens when one cares for others over their own needs."

Leo felt humbled by the story, nodding. "I understand."

"So what have you been upto, kiddo?"

And so began Leo's tale of Capture the Flag, sparring with Charlie since everyone was afraid of his Fire powers, and more. He told of Mr. D's rudeness, the abusive Clarisse not learning from her mistake of attacking him and the compliance of the other demigods toward the various abuses.

Mason took it all in, sad and soft. "I wish I could be there for you, kiddo, but the Gods have other thoughts..."

And they shared a look of disgust at the actions of the gods, and their inability to leave well enough alone.

Mason smiled, looking at the thirty six books he had to study. "I have a lot ahead of me if I am to find the next piece of Selene... " he looked at the warding books. "I wonder, if i made a safe place for Leo to live, like what I saw in Lilydale, one where dark deeds were not possible..."He sighed. "I have to be careful, less the wrong person overhear me."

And so began his studies, he had long since finished his work with his first grimoire. The next few months were to be dedicated to the new tomes in his life, eager to finally move forward and master the next steps of the craft.

Each day he would tend to his garden, create potions, workout or train and of course practice the craft (Be it combat spells, healing or advancing his wards). Soon, he something started to change. It started the week before the Summer solstice, before he hit his six month mark as a sorcerer. For some reason, People on the streets started to look at him, in shock or discomfort. One lady actually said. "What are you?"

He was confused, so he summoned Ganymede with a prayer. The god in question looked at him stunned. "You've developed magic, or started to, rather than just borrowing it form the world or converting your life force. Your own aura of power that lesser beings can sense. Demigods have this same effect, it's what causes Monsters to find them. You've got to be more careful now, far more than ever. You're strong enough to be noticed, but not that powerful overall."

Mason groaned. "Great."

Ganymede put a hand on his shoulder. "It's a sign of great progress... just focus on combat for the time being. Good news, you can offically manipulate the Mist, your aura is strong enough."

"That is good news."

And from then on, things just got grander for his magic. They were easier to cast, and less tiring. He could do more than ever...

Which was naturally when someone decided he was dinner.
