Chapter 34
New training
Reese started to wake up and he was double groggy.
"Uuggghh what the hell happened, I was fighting Winter then I…" Reese said just then he remembered what happened.
He was on the wall formulating a plan to defeat Winter then blackout nothing.
"Now I'm in the hospital again." Reese said as he moved his left arm.
But the arm felt heavy like there was something or someone was on it.
Reese then threw the covers open and he saw Yang right there sleeping away with Reese's arm as close to her body and half of her body on Reese.
"That's why." Reese said.
Yang then moved, stretched, and opened her eyes to see Reese wide awake looking at her.
She gave him a light kiss, and gave him her best wife smile.
"Hey how are you feeling?" Yang asks.
"Well I feel like crap what happened?" Reese asks.
"Well the short answer is your body just shut down because of all the pain you were going through, that includes your previous injuries, and your liver and kidney are failing. So to save you I made the decision to have your organs removed, and there is a new mechanical liver inside you now." Yang says.
Reese then looked under the covers and indeed there was a new scar on his body.
"Damn it. Another one." Reese groaned.
"I know it sucks,but it was the best option." Yang says.
Reese then looked over at yang and she gave him a smile.
"So how long do I have to be here?" Reese asks.
"Not long, they are giving you the healing gel that they use." Yang says.
"That stuff no wonder it feels like my skin is burning a little." Reese says.
Just then a knock came from the door.
"Enter." Reese said.
The door opens and two guards with a box where they put it on the ground, saluted and left.
"That's odd what did they drop?" Reese says.
Yang got to the box and read the note.
"It's for me." She says.
"Well open it." Reese says.
Yang got it open and sees it's her armor set with her custom helmet design.
"It's my armor set." Yang says.
She then lifts it up and shows it to Reese.
"That's gen five." Reese says.
"Yep and it's made for me." Yang says.
"You know why it was sent here right?" Reese asks.
Yang shakes her head.
"It's to spend time inside of it and get used to it, so hope your good in your swimsuit or whatever." Reese says with a grin.
Yang in return gave a pout and drew the curtains closed and Reese could see her get out of her outfit, and she then stepped on the fabric and waited, the fabric jumped on her skin and made it's way up her body, it then stopped right at her neck.
Yang then came around the corner where Reese could get a good look at the set up.
"Hum it's a little tight in some areas but that's how it was for me then it got comfortable." Reese said.
"So how long do I have to wear it?" Yang asks.
"Well it's recommended to wear it for 24 hours, but in that time frame we trained and slept in it, but I bet in a few minutes you'll have to go to training." Reese says.
Just then the phone went off.
"Yeah, uhmmmm ok I'll send the message." Reese said.
"What was that?" Yang asks.
"That was winter she has the rest of the team in the training area to get you guys familiar with the armor, and someone will be here in a second to escort you." Reese said.
A few minutes later the door opens and there is an Atlas officer.
"Miss xaio long come with me, winter request your presence." She says.
Yang picks up her helmet and heads out.
Reese leans back and takes a nap for the rest of the day.
After walking for a bit Yang is wondering what kind of training does she have to do.
"Do you have any idea what training Im going to do?" Yang asks the officer.
"Unfortunately I don't know what your training is going to be like, but all i know is that it's going to be quick." The officer said as she stops at a door.
Yang then enters and sees the same gym she was in a few days ago but it's changed.
And on the other side there was the team and what's interesting is that yang was able to identify who was wearing what armor, Weiss with a snow flake insignia on her shoulder, Blake with the shadow belladonna flower on hers, and Ruby with the rose.
Yang got in line and waited, Winter then entered in another set of armor and got into commander mode.
"As it stands we have three weeks to get you into fighting condition, and before you say it yes I did say two weeks but negotiating with other nations is being difficult right now." Winter says.
Winter could see team rwby relax a little.
"But we are not going to slack off, so starting now you as a team negotiate the obstacle course, then after that run to the firing range and get familiar with some weapons." Winter says.
So throughout the day team rwby did the same course's several times before lunch time, and when that time came rwby was relieved.
"Hey when will Reese join us?" Ruby asks
"He will join the team tomorrow morning, when the healing agents finish." Winter says.
When team rwby got to the chow hall the smell of food was really intoxicating.
"Hey uhh guys does the food smell really good right now?" Ruby says while holding back her saliva.
"Yes it does but I need to monitor what I eat." Weiss says.
Blake was silent but Yang can see she was struggling to hold back.
Winter was behind Weiss when she made the comment.
"As much you want to do that, but you need to eat as much as possible you expended a lot of energy today." Winter says.
After the meal the team went back to the training area and did more drills then spent time learning how to make the armor function with it's features.
The day has ended and the whole team was sore.
"Winter is there a way to get un sore?" Weiss asks.
"You can go to the infirmary and get your muscles worked on plus a warm baths." Winter says.
But right at warm baths the team got a second wind and headed straight there.
Meanwhile at Reese he just finished up his workout set from bed.
"And 30!" Reese said as he put down the 30lbs weight.
He got his eyes closed just barely when all of the sudden the door just burst open and four people came in.
"What in the?!" Reese thought but realized who they were and what their intentions were.
"Hope the baths are hot!" Weiss says.
Reese got the covers over him and went to sleep fast.
Yang then remembered that they are not the only ones in the room.
"Weiss sush!" Yang says as she point to the bed.
Weiss then realized her error and went silent.
Yang snuck up the the bed to see if he is faking it or was out for real, and indeed he was out.
Well in actual reality he was half way there he was going to eavesdrop on their conversation to see how training went.
But for him he forgot that they do one thing and that's talk about everything except for the subject he was interested in.
But after a bit the lights went off for the night except for the watch nurse who had the night shift.
But Reese was slightly awake he was counting the holes in the ceiling tiles and he was on 150 but lost the area he was in, he the rolls over to his right and found a fast asleep Yang in the armor with her arms around him.
"How did I not notice that?" He thought.
But he didn't care tomorrow he would be cleared for duty and he needed to get into training mode.
Then sleep was swift to answer for him.
Next morning was sounding off with a loud bang.
And that bang was Winter putting his helmet on the side table.
"You know the music son time to dance." Winter says.
Reese nodded and saw he helmet visor is repaired from the Tyrian incident, the various needles were removed and monitoring equipment was turned off, now came the stand test to see if the individual can maintain balance.
Reese did his own motor test's looking in all directions, checking to see how his arms and fingers moved, then legs and feet,and toes to see if they responded, and they did. Now Reese slid off the bed very carefully at first his legs felt week but was able to maintain composure, then Winter gave him his armor and after a look over Reese puts it on his body and did it's startup sequence and was now ready.
"After three days I missed it." Reese says.
"And Patty has been talking about non stop she was really worried about you." Winter says.
Reese looked down at the helmet and his visor was glowing and dimming in a rapid pace.
"She is waiting for you." Yang says.
Reese couldn't understand how Yang knew what that meant but he looked at the helmet and put it on.
Just then Patty then started asking questions at Mach 3.
"What happened to you? Your body just shut down? You had surgery done?" Patty says.
Reese decided to stay silent for a while to let her wear down.
"Well you were watching the cameras so you should have the answers." Reese says.
"I did until you entered the ICU, not even that area has cameras or computer equipment." Patty says.
"Right ready to get to work?" Reese asks.
"The course has been setup and ready." Patty says.
"Good open all doors." Reese orders.
Winter and yang then heard some clicks and the doors open and Reese started running.
"Where is he going?" Yang asks.
"Don't know but you better go after him he knows what he is doing." Winter says.
Yang then scrambles to get her helmet on and run after him.
But he had a big head start and was about 50 feet from her, but she had enhanced speed but the problem is she is having difficulty activating it.
While that was going on Reese was getting his equipment working.
"Patty find the gen five armor frequency and link up." Reese says.
"Working." She said back.
For Reese he wasn't going to the training area the whole ship is the training area and where he is going is to the flight deck.
Yang got her armor to work and was attempting to catch up, just then her armor made a cherp and now she saw a green arrow and it was labeled Hunter 2-1 aka Reese,and now there is an arrow telling her where he is going.
"Hey my armor made a sound did anyone get it too?" Weiss asks over the radio.
"Same." Both Blake and Ruby says back.
"Reese linked up his system to ours and he is on the move and Winter says follow him." Yang says.
While it was a mad scramble for team RWBY to get their armor on and to catch up.
Reese made it to the flight deck.
"Any flight ops today?" Reese asks.
"They all have taken off for the day; they will be back in a few hours." Reese says.
Reese then started doing parkour and gladly no one was stopping him.
Right now the floating ship is cruising at an altitude of 10,000 feet cold but not too cold like when he first arrived.
Just then team rwby was at the door apprehensive to get on the deck, but a remark from Reese made the difference.
"Come on out, the air is nice, no one is going to stop you." Reese says.
Then the team gave chase but they don't know how to negotiate the environment like Reese can, but the objective stands "Chase Reese".
He was about 75 yards away but the team went after him, Reese was now jumping across jets and crates staying away from rwby.
"Weiss, Blake, and Yang stay low and find short cuts to see if we can cut off Reese, I'll use my speed to chase him." Ruby says.
Reese looks back and sees the familiar red streak of ruby's cloak aka her speed.
"You think it would be that easy Ruby?" Reese says over the radio.
No response that's good Reese didn't want hear a retort, and that means they have a plan, to prevent cheating Reese disabled his hud so he had no idea where WBY is.
Meanwhile the rest of them we're running in a way so that Reese could not pick them up on his helmet.
But Yang had a different idea, she broke her cover and went wide where she could be seen.
"Humm Yang is there." Reese says he sees her from the corner of his eye.
So now he could see 50% of the team but it's the other two that worries him and he was running out of crates to jump on, plus Ruby was catching up to him (50 yards and closing), then Yang is exposing herself (to distract him from the other two), something was brewing and he couldn't figure it out, and that bugged him, but he didn't want to cheat.
"Patty, what's the probability of team rwby plan successfully actually going good?" Reese asks.
"At this rate with the data I have it's 65% percent." Patty says.
Then the lightbulb went on.
Reese then stops and turns and faces Ruby who is now 15 yards.
"What are you doing?" Patty asks.
"Watch." Reese says as he raises his hands.
To Ruby's delight Reese stops and it looks like he is giving up but she really wanted to tackle him and she was going to do it.
Reese then saw she was going faster.
"That's right." Reese said to himself as he got ready.
Right at five yards Ruby then saw what he was thinking but was to late, Reese reached out and grabbed Ruby by the shoulders, now they were both flying.
"How you doing?" Reese asks sarcastically.
"Eeeep!" A startled Ruby exclaimed.
When that happened Ruby went straight up gaining altitude, then Reese let go of ruby when he was at the right height.
"He is going to glide!" Yang says over the radio.
Then the rest of the team broke cover and now they were seen.
"Patty after I hit the ground get the cloaking up." Reese says as he finds more crates to land/hide in.
"Done land here and tuck into a ball before impact." Patty says.
Rwby on the ground meanwhile was trying to catch up to him but he landed in some crates.
"Don't worry, he activated his armor mode he survived the impact." Yang says as she starts looking.
After about 10 minutes of looking the team gave up.
"He ran, he is nowhere." Blake said.
"We'll hate to ask you this but didn't the White Fang teach you how to evade Atlas forces?" Weiss asks.
"Well the main one was to find cover and….. HE'S STILL HERE!" Blake shouted.
Just then Reese broke cover sending some crates flying thus concealing his movements, now he had to make a break for it the finish line, the bow of the ship (15 feet away from the edge.)
"Speed enhancement engaged". Patty says.
Now Reese was slightly slow because he is recovering but he still was able to hit 25 mph.
Now team rwby was hot on his heels with the intent to not let him get to the objective (Reese is about 80 yards away and closing).
Now the thought of being caught and dog piled again doesn't sound great for Reese so he pushed the armor a little harder topping off at 30 mph the safe limit for a operator recovering from surgery.
Right at the 8 yard line Reese looked back and discovered that team rwby was now within arms reach of him and he swore that he could see the whites of their eyes.
Then he jumped hoping that being a little more aerodynamic would carry him the rest of the way, but he felt a hand on his foot.
"Crap!" Reese said.
Now there was a little bit of chaos because when Reese stopped everyone else had to hit the brakes creating a little dust cover, and Reese used that to his advantage.
Engaging the enhanced strength he crawled his way out not caring who he was dragging.
"Hey, help me out here, I'm too light!" Someone said.
Reese recognized that voice it was Ruby what luck.
Reese made a mad crawl to the finish line but WHUMP! WHUMP! WHUMP! He was now dog pilled again.
"He wins!" Winter says.
"Hummmm"? the collective team said as they look up.
And on the hud it said Reese won when his hand crossed the line.
"That was close now please get off of me!" A muffled voice said from under the women.
When the team got off Reese rolled over and gave a slight chuckle.
"Training is going to be fun." He said.

Well here we are near the end the final battle is fast approaching between rwby, Reese vs Salem and the rest of Remnant, so it's going to get rough.
Now you may have noticed that I removed story 2 of the Crysis trilogy. It just became a mess trying to keep things in line so I'm going to redo it but it will be short.
So here we go.
