I don't own Naruto nor One Piece. I wanna say that this chapter will be a normal chapter but the next chapter will be the longest chapter so far.
Broggy and Dorry kept on duking it out, knocking down trees and shaking the whole island. Luffy just stood there, totally awestruck by the fight. He watched Dorry swing his sword while Blocks kept defending himself with his helmet. Nearby, Usopp was watching too, absolutely amazed. He was so moved that he started crying tears of joy and sniffling.
"He blocked it with his helmet! That's incredible! A couple of inches off to the right would've killed him!" He watched as Broggy swung his sword at Dorry. Broggy accidentally trimmed his beard in the process. Dorry stepped back, but quickly regained his footing and struck back at the other giant. Broggy blocks the attack and swings his weapon against Dorry.
"What an incredible fight, huh?" Usopp said.
"Every one of those attacks is aimed at some vital spot! Just one slip from either of them and that's it, they're dead."
"These guys have really been fighting to the death for a hundred years? That's gotta get old" Nami stated. She then smiled with relief. "This is a good thing. This is our chance to get away." She turns the other direction. "Let's go!" She walks out. She then noticed Usopp still standing.
"Usopp?" She said. Usopp ignored her as he was focused on the fight.
"Amazing He mutterd. "They fight so seriously… and they don't even know why…" Nami just stood there, looking irritated.
"This fight's getting really annoying," Nami groaned.
"Don't you see?" Usopp said. "This is an example of a real battle between real men!" Nami blinked in confusion.
"Say what?" She asked.
"Maybe an analogy will help." Sanji explained.
"Maybe this will help. It's as if they each put a flag in their hearts "I am a warrior!" This fight is more important than anything more than their lives even! They can never allow the flag to be destroyed by someone else, that's why they both continue this fight for a hundred years!" The giants grunted as they blocked each other's attacks.
"Do you see it now? This is a proud duel! A legendary fight between two dedicated warriors!" Usopp asked excitingly. Nami rolled her eyes and walked off.
"Yeah, whatever. That warrior stuff really doesn't interest me in the slightest. You coming?"
"No..." Usopp answered with crossed arms. "I'm still watching this. "This is my ultimate goal... to be a brave warrior like each of these titans. To be a Brave Warrior of the Sea! If there's a village full of warriors like these two, I'd love to visit it someday." Nami's expression changed from confused to annoyed as she sits down on a log.
"Moron! You haven't listened to a single word I've said, have you?!" Usopp asked.
"Hey Usopp, isn't there something you're supposed to be watching?" Nami asked. He turns around and looks up at the two warriors continue on fighting. Usopp smiles in pride.
"If there's a village full of warriors like these two, then I really wanna go there someday." Usopp stated.
Dorry and Broggy kept on exchanging hits, with trees getting smashed and squashed beneath their feet as these colossal fighters carried on with their battle.
What Usopp and Nami is unaware of is Miss Valentine is on the Island watching them while floating in the air.
"They're gonna see you Ms. Valentine!" Mr. 5 said to her. Now get down here!"
"Oh, don't be so jittery Mr. 5." Miss Valetine assured while watching the two giants still clashing. "You see, they're completely absorbed in the fight down there! They won't notice me!"
"Just come down, already!" Mr. 5 ordered.
"Okay, okay..." Miss Valentine sighed. She floats down and lands next to Mr. 5.
"Now, behave yourself. This is a 400 million berry job here." Mr. 5 said.
"Of course… Though I'm not really crazy about this. What Mr. 3 wants us to do…"
"I know." Mr. 5 said as he walks past her. "Now come on."
"Okay."
Back at their duel, weapons were knocked out of their hands and they both collasped. Broggy gets up first.
"It's safe to say that we're both starting to get homesick here, huh Dorry?" He asked his friendly rival.
"That's why I intend to win this duel of ours. I'm going to beat you and go home to Elbaf. Got that, Broggy?" Drorry offered as their weapons fell to the ground. Drorry lets out a big roar with Broggy roaring back as they charge toward one another, smashing their shields into each other's faces.
"73,466 duels." Broggy's grumbled with his face all squished.
"73,466 draws…" Dorry wrapped things up just before they both tumbled down once more. There was a quick pause of silence, and then Broggy burst out laughing.
"Hey Dorry! A couple of guests of mine gave me some alcohol." Broggy said.
"Drinks? It's been a long while, eh Broggy?" Drorry asked.
Zoro, in the forest was looking for some food, he then hear some strange noise, leaving him confused.
"What was that? Laughing? First that long strange earthquake, and now this creepy laughing sound? What's going on in this place? What kind of creatures live here?" He wondered. He then shrugs it off.
"Well, the damn cook are still hunting out there. Maybe they'll run into one of those monsters…" Zoro smirked. Meanwhile at the other part of the Forest, Sanji was pondering what he just heard.
"Were those bird cries? 'Cause the birds here don't look appetizing. I'll find something else. ""We may be competing for big prey, but a chef has to have standards. Doesn't matter how big it is, it still has to taste good. Something I'm sure that lousy swordsman doesn't understand.
Dorry laughed as he returned to Vivi and Luffy. "That's interesting! So Broggy's guests are friends of yours then. I saw a goofy looking guy there with a long nose and a woman there."
"That's Usopp, and Nami." Luffy said. He turns to Vivi with a smirk.
And they said they weren't going to go anywhere! I guess they wanted to have an adventure after all!"
"If they're your friends then I guess I have to thank you too for these drinks." He then noticed someone missing. "Where is the Foxy one?"
"Oh, you mean Naruto? He went to find his girlfriend Sakura." Luffy said.
"Ah, he has a lady friend?" Dorry asked. "Lucky him. I guess he wanted some alone time with her." They then hear a pterodactyl roar. This worries Vivi as she turns to the giant.
"So, Dorry tell us... does it really take a year for the Log Pose to reset?"
"Yes." Dorry confirmed. "Didn't you notice all of the mountains of human skeletons that are lying around here? I guess it's hard not to. The people who come to this island tend to die before their Logs reset. Some become dinosaur food, some die from heat, or thirst, or starvation, others are killed because they stupidly attack us. Whatever the case, they all die here somehow. An entire year on this island just seems to be too long. So far no humans have been able to survive here for the whole year." He finished. Vivi stared in shock while holding onto her legs.
"What are we going to do? Even if we could manage to last here for a year, who knows what could happen by then? My country could be lost!" She lowered her head in fear.
"She's right," Luffy said. "Plus I'd get bored here after a year. Isn't there anything else we can do about it, old man?"
"Well..." Dorry began as he puts his drink down. "There is an eternal pose, But its magnetic link is to our homeland of Elbaf. That Eternal Pose is what Broggy and I have been fighting for this whole time. Of course, you can try to take it by force…"
"Nah..." Luffy declined. "That's not gonna work. Elbaf's not the place we're trying to get to. We just wanna get to the island that's after this one. Right?" He asked Vivi.
"R-right." Vivi confirmed. "We must stay on the route that's going to lead us to my home or else there's no point."
"Maybe you could try your luck and try sailing forward randomly. You could make it to it eventually." Dorry addressed them. Luffy briefly glanced at Dorry. Vivi was deep in thought about their predicament, awaiting Luffy's reaction. Suddenly, Luffy burst into laughter, leaving Vivi astonished.
"Maybe so!" He guffawed. "Maybe we'd actually get there."
"Now that I think about it, someone did leave the island once before his Log was reset."
"And happened to him?" Luffy asked.
"How should I know that" Dorry answered by continue laughing. Vivi looks at them, displeased with their laughter.
" I don't understand what these two idiots are laughing about at a time like this!"
Meanwhile, Naruto was walking through the Forrest after leaving Luffy and Vivi with Drorry. As he walked, he heard a light giggle echoing around him. He paused, curious, and furrowed his brow. "Did I just hear something?" he muttered, looking around. The forest was quiet, with just the soft rustling of leaves and distant bird songs adding to the peaceful vibe. What he doesn't know is that was being watched. He turns his head around and runs off.
"I better go find Sakura... she might be in trouble!"
Back at Broggy's place, he is repairing his battle axe and turns to pose a question to Usopp.
"A brave warrior of the sea? What is that exactly?" He asked the sniper.
"I'm talking about you guys! What I really want is to become like one you someday!" Usopp answered. Broggy looks at him in confusion.
"Huh? You want to be a giant?" He asked.
"You hear that?" Nami said with a laugh.
"That's not what I mean! I wanna be a great warrior, I wanna be brave and proud like you and the others from Elbaf!" Usopp explained clearly. Broggy smiled and laughs.
"I see! You know in Elbaf, even though our lifespan's a lot longer than yours are, we still think about how we will die. We know everything we have and everything we are will one day cease to exist, like everything else. But it is worth it to die a true warrior of Elbaf, without sacrificing your pride. That is what we call 'dying with honor'. To die such a great death would be an everlasting treasure, it's what we seek in Elbaf. Usopp's eyes shined with excitement.
"So pride is your treasure. That's great. I've decided to learn from you. From now on, I'll call you master!" Usopp declared. Broggy felt touched.
Suddenly Drorry's mouth exploded, leaving a shocked Luffy and Vivi. Karoo screams as the giant fell down.
"OLD GIANT GUY!" Luffy screamed. "What's going on! Why did it explode? That was the same alcohol we had with us on the ship!"
"It exploded in his stomach!" Vivi shouted. "The other giant must've booby-trapped it!" Upon hearing that, Luffy shot a glare at the Princess. He quickly leaped over to where she was.
"Hold it!" He protested. "Were you even watching them? "WERE YOU EVEN WATCHIG THEM?! THEY FIGHT THEIR DUELS HONORABLY! NO WAY HE'D DO THAT!"
"No way!" A Familiar voice called. They both turned to see Drorry recovered. Karoo screamed in terror
"YOU STRANGERS! IT WASN'T BROGGY! NO WARROIR OF ELBAF WOULD DARE! WHO ELSE IS THERE TO SUSPECT ON THIS ISLAND THEN… BESIDES YOU! Karoo ran from the group. Vivi backed away and turned to Luffy.
"Let's get out of here! There's no use talking to him right now!" She suggested.
"I doubt running would do us any good." Luffy said as he takes off his hat and hands it to Vivi. "Hold on to this and stay back." Vivi's eyes widened.
"You're going to… fight Dorry?" She asked Luffy. The Strawhat captain cracked his knuckles while staring that the giant.
"Yeah," Luffy answered. "I don't want to but we have to settle this."
"Don't do it you guys!" Vivi begged. "Mr. Dorry, we don't know anything about the explosives in the barrels, I promise! We wouldn't do that! You can't be in any shape to fight right now, so please stop!"
"Grrr… WHY SHOULD I BELIEVE YOU LIARS?" He takes a swing at Luffy with his massive sword, but Luffy ducks just in time, letting the huge blade crash into the ground. Luffy then casually strolls up the length of the sword and leaps onto its handle.
"All right then... gum-gum..." Luffy shouted while in the air to punch Dorry but he knocked Luffy down with his shield. Luffy stretches his arms towards the trees. Dorry was making his way towards Luffy but Luffy dodged it and aims towards the Giant from Elbaf.
"Gum-gum... Rocket!" Luffy's arms snapped back, launching him straight towards the gasping giant. "ROCKET!" Luffy delivered a powerful punch to Dorry's stomach, causing him to bleed and lose his grip on his sword. Dorry quickly steadied himself and spotted Luffy tumbling to the ground. He attempted to stomp on Luffy with his foot. Vivi watched in shock, horrified. Dorry holds on to his stomach.
"I see now… he has the power from…one of the Devil Fruit… it seems… I underestimated… him…" He falls to his knees and collaspes. Vivi gasped. She heard panting. She looks down to see that Luffy is still alive and unharmed. He pops out and takes deep breaths. Vivi walks to him.
"Luffy, are you alright?" Luffy looks up in worry.
"How is he?"
"He should be okay... I guess you were right about fighting. He's certainly a lot calmer now." She hands him his hat and he places it on his head in anger.
"Well, I'm not! The old guy was right about one thing, the other giant would never to anything like this and I know that our friends wouldn't do this either. They aren't like that."
"Then... who?" Asked Vivi.
"There must be somebody else on this Island." Luffy had to guess.
"The key to winning any game is to know your opponent's state of mind." Mr. 3 stated while cups of tea. "For now we have succeeded in confusing our enemy. They are no doubt wondering about the mysterious bomb we delivered… and about the identity of their invisible enemy."
Mr. 5 accepted the cups of tea from Mr. 3 and passed one over to Miss Valentine as they continue to listen to Mr. 3
"Our first target was the long-bearded giant Dorry. I knew of course that it would be nearly impossible to finish him off. But the damage done to his stomach by the bomb must have been considerable. Now… we can sit here enjoying our tea while relaxing and wait for the next duel to start."
"So we stay in the background and let the giant kill off the injured one," Mr. 5 nodded, getting what Mr. 3 had in mind. Mr. 3 chuckled evilly.
"Yes, that's exactly right." Mr. 3 told them. "This is certainly an indirect method."
"Again, you have to consider your enemy. Mr. 3 countered. "Warriors like these two operate in much of the same way as wild boars. They can be intimidating in a head-on fight but they don't have the brains to think beyond their immediate circumstance. So why bother going after them directly when you have the intelligence to destroy them indirectly?" He then giggles evilly. Mr. 3 then noticed Miss Goldenweek staring at him. He sighs and stands to hand her some tea.
"And just what are we supposed to do with the Straw Hat Gang?" Mr. 5 asked.
"Straw hat gang? "Oh, you're talking about the little brats who found out the Boss' secrets." Mr. 3 showed them the pictures that the Luckies had drawn of Luffy, Naruto, Sakura, Nami, Vivi and Zoro. "Have you located the pink-haired girl?"
"Nope." Mr. 5 confirmed. "She could be anywhere in this Island."
"Well, no matter." Mr. 3 brushed off. "She is probably the weakest so we can start by luring the others." He said. "He laughed evilly.
Zoro hears the volcano rumble once more. He sighs, frustrated that he still hasn't come across a larger dinosaur. If he doesn't find one soon, Sanji's going to take the win the bet.
"Oh damn," he cursed to himself. "I guess my time is up." Then he realized he'd stepped on something. When he looked, he saw it was a baby triceratops.
"Oh, Sorry buddy!" He apologized as he released his foot. However, the triceratops glared at the swordsman and bites Zoro's foot. Zoro yells and pain and waves his leg to get the dinosaur out.
"I SAID I WAS SORRY, I DON'T' HAVE TIME TO MESS AROUND WITH THIS! CUT IT OUT YOU LITTLE BRUTE! SERIOUSLY, I DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR THIS!"
What he doesn't know is that its mother is growling at him.
Meanwhile, Sanji was walking through the forest. Like Zoro, he is having hard time finding a dinosaur to kill.
"I don't have any big game to bring back," he said to himself. "And that was the signal. Damn it. I guess my time's up." He let out a groan, completely oblivious to the fact that a massive cat with glowing eyes was watching him.
Back with Broggy's group, he, Usopp and Nami all heard the volcano erupt again.
Well, there's the signal. It's really been active." Broggy said, standing up and grabs his axe in preparation for battle.
"You're really going?" Usopp asked. "But your wounds from your last battle hasn't been healed!"
"Please, Dorry can't be doing better than me..." Broggy answered. He lets out his laugh "A FEW SCRATCHES WON'T TAKE ME OUT OF A DUEL! THAT WOULD SURELY BE A POOR EXCUSE FOR A BRAVE WARRIOR!"
Dorry forcefully strikes his hands against the ground, yet finds it difficult to rise. Luffy and Nami observe with concern.
Wait Mr. Giant! Don't go!" Luffy pleaded.
"You can't fight Mr. Dorry, you need to rest..." Vivi pleaded. "You'll die if you push yourself too hard!" The giant took a few breaths before smirking.
"I WILL FIGHT! I AM DORRY! I WILL...! Dorry starting coughing blood. "...FIGHT FOR ELBAF'S PRIDE AND DIE AS A WARRIOR!"
Back at the cave Sakura squeezed through the narrow opening she had created, her heart pounding with determination. She emerged into a smaller chamber, the air fresher and the light brighter. "Almost there," she whispered to herself, spotting a crack in the ceiling where daylight filtered through. She is one step out of this cave.
Zoro: Ah, great. Lost again.
Usopp: Nami's disappeared. What am I gonna do?
Sakura: It's great to finally get out of this cave.
Naruto: Sakura, thank God you're safe... why do you look weird?
Luffy: Someone's interfered with the giant's duel! Who is it, show yourself!
Naruto: On the next Shinobi X Strawhat. Sakura, Usopp and Luffy vs Barqoue works... I am gonna be Hokage.
Luffy: And I'm gonna be King of the Pirates!
And we're done wit this chapter. Next chapter will be one of the last ones. I hope to finish the arc by Christmas. If not then new years. I also plan to make a Christmas fic if I can.
