Hey everyone!
Sorry to keep you waiting. I know you've been longing to see this story continue. I apologize for the delay, but many things came up that ended up taking much more of my time than expected. I know it's been a long wait, but we all have lives outside of this site.
Anyway, I'm back to work on this. So let's see what happens next.
Back in the syndicate lair, the villains were all collaborating on their latest plan.
Together, along with their new colleague, were putting together a giant machine. Nobody knew what it was or what it would do. But what they did know was that it was going to put an end to the heroes once and for all.
Finally the finished touches were made and the device was completed (At least the base of it) just as the new collaborator was stepping in.
"There, all finished," Technus says with a sigh of exhaustion.
"Perfect," said the hooded figure. "Now it's time to put my plan into action."
"Don't you mean our plan?" Questioned Plankton rather sternly. "What is this even supposed to do?"
"Keep your antennae on, shrimp!" She shouted. "This baby will put an end to those twerps once and for all. All it needs now is a source of power, and I know just where to get it."
Meanwhile, in Royal Woods…….
The refrigerator door opens as Lincoln looks inside to find……
"Milk……"
Lincoln takes the carton of milk out of the fridge and closes the door.
Then Lana opens one of the kitchen cabinets, looking for…….
"Cereal……"
Lana takes the box of cereal out of the cabinet and closes it.
The two of them take them over to the dining room table and pour them both into a bowl.
"Combine……."
They do the same for two other bowls.
Lincoln spots a spoon on the table and reaches for it.
But Lynn snatches it away. "Ah, ah, ah! This is the only clean spoon left, Stinkoln. Let's play punchies for it."
"Okay, me first."
Lynn turns, having one of her arms face him. Lincoln punches it, but it doesn't even phase her.
She then chuckles, holds Lincoln still and punches him in the arm, which makes him wince.
Lincoln rubs his arm and grumbles. "Ow! Mmmmm! Take it!"
Lincoln takes his bowl over to an empty seat next to where Lana is sitting.
"Don't sweat it, big brother," Lana said. "Just do what I do." Lana holds her cereal bowl up to her face and guzzles her breakfast, slurping rather loudly.
Lincoln just rolls his eyes. "Lana, I know we're siblings, but just because you eat like an animal doesn't mean I like to. I'm getting a fork."
"Eh, suit yourself then."
Lincoln stomped over to the kitchen to get a fork, grumbling while doing so. "Hmpf! Punchies. Who even came up with that idea anyway? What a stupid game."
Lincoln took a fork and stomped back to his seat and sat down with a huff.
As the others ate their breakfast, Lori decided to lighten the mood. "So……what did you guys literally think about that tour last night?"
Lisa sighs. "Meh, I've seen better things in my closet."
"I don't know," Lana shrugged. "I thought it was pretty cool. Especially those super power serums. Boy, if only we had super powers. I bet I'd have the power to change into animals."
"Yeah, that'd be nice," Lola said sarcastically. "But not as cool as having actual fairy godparents to grant your every wish."
Lisa was still skeptical. "Get real, Lola. You don't really believe that nonsense, do you? It's not exactly reality like here in Royal Woods."
"What if it is real, lisa?" Lincoln wondered. "I think it sounds pretty exciting."
Lisa rolled her eyes. "Of course you'd think that, Mr. 'second-best-magician-of-Royal-Woods'."
"I'm serious. Wouldn't it be great to wish for anything with the wave of a wand?"
"The only thing I'd wish for is earplugs so I wouldn't have to hear anymore nonsense."
"Hey!" Lola shouted. "Just because you don't believe in magic, no need to take it out on anyone else."
"I'm only stating facts here. Prestidigitation is nothing but an inane gimmick made possible by trinkets of illusion."
Then Lana got snarky. "You know what? I keep seeing your lips move, yet all I hear is 'yapp, yapp, blah, blah, drivel, drivel, drivel'."
"Mock all you'd like Lana. It's no wig off my scalp."
"You know, for someone who's seen aliens and traveled to space, you sure aren't a big believer of magic," Luan says. "And that's no joke."
"There's a clear difference," Lisa argued. "Those things are proven with science. Magic is a mere term they use when they have no idea what they're doing."
"Dude, I think your logic is hiding the fact that you're just jealous."
That one word was enough to make Lisa scoff. "Jealous? Me? Jealous? P-shaw! I've no need to be jealous. Anything that James Neutron can do, I can do better."
Lisa climbed up on the table and grabbed Lincoln's fork. "I'll take that."
"It's all yours," Lincoln said without a care.
"'Look at me! I'm Jimmy Neutron! I'm here to put an end to your evil ways, Calamitous! Gotta blast!' Feh! What a load of mortadella pork byproduct, street name: bologna."
At this point, everyone was at a loss of words.
Even Lucy. "I'll never understand how someone so curious about science can be so closed minded about the supernatural."
"It's sad, I know," Lynn agrees.
Then Lily started babbling.
"What is it, Lily?" Lincoln wondered.
Lily points to Lincoln, then points to her wrist, telling him to check the time, which he does.
"Oh my gosh! You're right! Thanks Sis. Come on guys, we better get going. I want to get to school early to get ready for the news today."
"And I forgot I was supposed to tutor Darcy in mathematics at lunch," Lisa replied.
"And we have a playdate with Meli at recess this afternoon," Lola stated. "Which reminds me. You remembered to bring the chalk?"
"Yep." Lana took out a box of regular chalk out of her overall pocket. "Right here." She then put the box back in her pocket. "And Rudy's chalk is right under here." Lana took off her hat, revealing a couple pieces of magic chalk.
Lola had her doubts. "Are you sure they'll be okay?"
"Lola, you worry too much. Besides, how much trouble can two pieces of magic chalk cause at school anyway?"
"Again with the magic," Lisa criticized. "Get over it."
"Hey! Just because you find it hard to believe, don't take it out on me."
While Lana argued with Lisa, one of the pieces of magic chalk rolled down her hair and fell right into an opening of Lisa's backpack. But she didn't see it even before she put her hat back on.
"Whatever," Lisa scoffed. "Let's just go before I lose more of my sanity."
With that, the kids headed out the door and into the van as they all headed out to school.
Meanwhile in Great Lakes City, Sid was resting in her bed as the sun rose, when suddenly her phone went off.
"Hello?"
It was Ronnie Anne. "Sid! Where are you?! We need to get cooking!"
"Alright, I'll be right down," she said with a yawn.
Sid immediately got out of bed to get ready, though she was still a bit drowsy.
She got out of her Pajamas and into her day clothes and went downstairs.
Meanwhile, Ronnie Anne was waiting in her grandma's kitchen. Just then, Sid came in looking exhausted.
"It's about time," the Santiago girl said. "Where have you been?"
"Sorry, Ronnie Anne," Sid replied. "My brain keeps telling my body to get up and move, but my feet don't wanna listen."
Ronnie Anne rolled her eyes. "Whatever. Let's just get started. You got the recipe card?"
"Right here," she said, unzipping her backpack.
"What does it say?"
"Okay, let's see." Sid takes out a recipe card and reads it. But something seems rather odd. "Hmm, strange. Pixie sugar, moon calf milk, a Phoenix egg and super strong hair-raising flour?"
Even Ronnie Anne was suspicious. "Odd. Are you reading things upside down again?"
"No, that's actually what it says. Not sure why though. Where are we going to get ingredients like this?"
"My abuela says Ernesto owns a shop nearby that sells all kinds of magical items," Ronnie Anne thought. "Maybe we can try there."
Sid just shrugged. "Sure, why not? Good answer as any. We'd better hurry though. It's gonna start any—."
"Hi Sid!"
Sid got startled by a little girl standing right behind her. This girl looked a bit like Sid, even having the same skin color and eye shape as her, but this girl was half her size, had a rounder head, an overbite and shorter, darker brown hair with two pigtails in the back. She also wore a red shirt with a purple skirt and black sneakers.
"Adelaide! I thought I told you not to sneak up on me like that."
"How else do you want me to sneak up on you? Pop out of a box?"
Sid rolled her eyes. "Just knock it off. What are you doing here, anyway?"
"I'm having a tea party and I'm one guest short. So I was wondering if you would be willing to attend."
Sid gave a nervous look. "Oh…..gee. I wish I could, but me and Ronnie Anne are working on a very important school assignment."
"Aw! Again? But you promised we'd play together!"
"I know and I will. I just can't right now. I'm busy."
"You're always busy!" She gripes. "No fair!"
"Look Adelaide, I promise I'll play with you later, but right now we gotta get to work. Go on, toodle along."
Adelaide just groaned. "Ugh! Fine!"
She then stomped out of the kitchen angrily.
"Sorry you had to see that," Sid replied. "Now where were we? Oh right, ingredients. Where's that shop you mentioned?"
"Come on, I'll show you. Vamos rapida!"
The two girls ran right out the kitchen on their way.
In the meantime, back in Royal Woods, Lisa was in her third grade classroom during lunchtime.
There, she was displaying a multitude of complex equations on the blackboard. "And that, as you can see, is the fundamental principle of pythagorean mathematics."
Just as she finished, Lisa began to hear snoring. She looked and saw her classmate, Darcy Holmandollar, who was sleeping on her desk with her stuffed giraffe, Rafo.
Seeing her classmate asleep, Lisa was less than pleased.
"AHEM!"
Immediately, Darcy awoke from her nap.
"Darcy, focus! I'm displaying some very valuable information here. And I'd really appreciate it if you would please pay attention."
Darcy yawned. "Sorry Lisa. This stuff is great and all, but can we please have a snack break? I'm starving."
"Hmmm….it is lunchtime. Very well. I suppose some nourishment is in order." Lisa puts a plate of apple slices and a juice box on Darcy's desk. "Here, you may consume this. I'm going to the cafeteria for some proper brain food. I'll be back momentarily."
As Lisa left, a small piece of chalk fell out of one of the backpack pockets and rolled on the floor.
Darcy picks it up, goes into the hallway and calls for Lisa. "Lisa! Wait! You dropped this!"
But she was too far out of earshot to hear. So Darcy goes back into the classroom with the chalk.
"Oh well. I guess she won't mind if I borrow it for a while."
She then began doodling on the chalkboard with the chalk. However, once she made a loop, that part of the board began to glow and made a hole with light coming out of it. Darcy became very curious about this and started to draw a bigger circle. The circle opened up a portal into a world made of chalk (AKA ChalkZone).
"Wow!" She said with amazement. "Cool!"
She started to crawl into the portal and landed on the chalk grass. She then began to look around.
"Hey! What's that?"
Darcy took her stuffed giraffe and ran off into the distance.
But just then, unbeknownst to her, the school janitor came into the room and began erasing the chalkboard, including the portal.
"Can you imagine kids would just leave these things a mess?" He grumbled before leaving.
Meanwhile, out in the playground, the twins were playing with their classmate Meli Ramos (a shy girl dressed in grey).
All of them were drawing on the blacktop with chalk.
Lana drew a Tyrannosaurus rex.
"That's a very nice dinosaur, Lana," Meli complimented shyly.
"Thanks," Lana replied proudly. "It's a T-Rex, the largest carnivore on earth."
"Gee, I sure wish I could draw like that."
"Well if you want something to draw," Lola proclaimed, "then look no further than yours truly."
Lana rolled her eyes at that.
Just then, the school bell rang.
"Uh oh," Lana said. "Come on, sis. We're gonna be late for class."
"I'll be right there," Lola said. She then turns to Meli. "Remember, if you ever need a reference, you know where to find me."
As Lola headed into the school building, Meli thought to herself. "Maybe Lola's right. Maybe I should try drawing her. Where's that chalk?"
As the twins headed back to class, a piece of white chalk fell out of Lana's cap and rolled down the blacktop next to Meli.
She picked it up. "This might work."
But as she began to draw the base of her head, the circle began to glow and open up a portal. Meli looks inside to see a world made of chalk.
"What's this?"
She tries to get a closer look, but ends up falling inside onto the chalk ground.
"Where am I? Hello?! Anyone here?!"
She wanders off, trying to find someone to help.
Back in the school yard, the groundskeeper turned on the hose and washed away all the chalk drawings, including the portal.
Back at the syndicate's lair, a monitor began to flash.
The villains all surrounded in front of it.
"Mistress!" Called out Vlad. "A powerful item has been located."
"Excellent," the hooded woman said. "Lock onto its coordinates and prepare the super weapon!
That's all for now!
Hope you enjoyed this chapter. I know it's not much, but it's enough to keep the story going.
Stay tuned for what's to come.
