Hi everyone! I'm back!
Took longer than expected, but let's continue with this story.
Back at the Casagrandes' household, the girls rushed right into the kitchen with a handful of supplies and ingredients.
"Well, that was the most bizarre grocery shopping experience I've ever had," Ronnie Anne said. "Okay, maybe second most bizarre."
Sid set everything out on the table. "At least we got everything we needed. So let's get baking."
"Hey, you don't think we were too hard on Adelaide, were we?"
"Nah, she's a big girl. She can handle a little rejection."
"I don't know. She seemed pretty upset."
"Trust me, Ronnie Anne. She'll be fine."
Outside the house however, Adelaide was sitting on the steps of the front door, looking depressed.
Just then, one of Ronnie Anne's cousins, Carl zoomed by. When he noticed the young girl's expression, he stopped and turned back.
"Hey Adelaide, what's with the tude?"
Adelaide sighed. "Not now, Carl. I'm not in the mood."
"Let me guess, your big sister is keeping a big secret from you and won't tell no matter how much you ask."
"How'd you know?"
"Ronnie Anne's been doing the same to me. It's not just hermanos, it's a primos thing too."
"It's just not fair! It's not like I asked for a pony or anything! Is it that much to tell me just one little secret? Ugh!" She groaned. "I don't know what to do about it."
"Just do what I do. Follow them when they're not looking."
"You mean spy? Are you saying i should spy?"
"I wouldn't use that exact word, but yeah, pretty much."
"Carl, that's a sneaky idea."
"I know."
"I want no part of it!"
"You want to know what they're up to, do you not?"
"Well I guess….."
"Well what choice do you have?"
Adelaide thought about it for a while. She didn't like the idea of spying on Sid, but she felt too upset by the fact of her sister keeping secrets to care. So she stood up and declared……
"Okay, I'll do it."
And she headed back inside the house.
Once she did, Carl thought back on his suggestion. "Maybe I should do a little investigation of my own."
After some time had passed, both Ronnie Anne and Sid had finished the muffins. The latter got them out of the oven and set them down.
"All done."
Ronnie Anne dusted off her hands. "Well that took a lot of elbow grease, but we pulled it off. I think this calls for a reward."
The girls each took a muffin from the pan. The muffins looked all bright, vibrant and sparkly, but when they bit into them, they didn't exactly taste as nice as they looked.
Almost instantly, the girls spit them all out on the floor.
"Okay, something's not right," said Ronnie Anne. "That was horrible. Those muffins taste like drywall."
"I know," Sid agreed. "I've tasted birdseed with more flavor than that."
"Now what are we going to do? School's gonna start soon!"
"Maybe we can ask Breakfast Bot. He's got a lot of great food ideas."
"Better than nothing."
The girls rushed out of the kitchen, quick as a wink.
Once they were out of sight, Adelaide snuck into the kitchen, seemingly stealthily.
"Hmmm…..there's got to be something around here," she whispered. "Oooh! Muffins!"
Adelaide spotted the muffins on the counter and took one for herself.
After looking around for a few more minutes, Adelaide managed to find……
"Nothing."
And walked right out of the kitchen and into her room.
"Why did I think Carl's stupid idea would work to begin with?" she asked herself. She then took a look at the muffin she had in her hand. "What kind of muffin is this anyway."
She took a bite of it before immediately spitting it out in disgust.
"Yuck! This is awful! This is what they were working on? All that work to find their secret, and all I got was this? Ugh!!!"
She then sighed in exasperation and lied back on her bed.
"Oh well, it doesn't matter. It's not like a muffin would solve anything anyway."
She turned to her side with the muffin still in hand.
"I wish I could see what those two were doing right now."
Just then, the muffin began to sparkle and surround her, until finally……..
POOF!!
Adelaide vanished from her room and appeared in the hallways of Ronnie Anne and Sid's school (Chavez Academy).
"How did I get here?"
Just then, she heard talking from a distance. As confused as she was by what happened, the voices she heard sounded familiar and made her curious. So she followed the voices coming from around the corner.
She looked over and saw both Sid and Ronnie Anne putting stuff in their lockers.
"Well at least we got something that doesn't make you toss your cookies," Sid assured. "I'm gonna have to take a closer look at that recipe card." She then darted her eyes back and forth to make sure nobody was listening. "Speaking of which, do you still have the you-know-what?" She whispered.
Ronnie Anne just gave her a deadpan look. "If you're talking about the secret formula, it's right here in my backpack."
"Sshhhhh!!!!! Not so loud!"
"Sid, relax. Why are you acting so paranoid about this? There's no one else here but you and me."
"I know. But we can't take any chances. I'm still new to this whole guardian thing. This is my first ever top secret mission and I don't want to louse it up."
"Don't worry, buddy. You won't. That's what I'm here for. I've got your back and we're on this mission together."
"Yeah, you're right. I just hope Adelaide doesn't find out. If she knew our secret, we'd never hear the end of it."
"Well we're in the clear. But we should probably be going to class right now, or else principal Valenzuela's not gonna let us hear the end of it."
"Oh my gosh! You're right! Let's go!"
The two girls rushed off. But unbeknownst to them, Adelaide was listening to the whole conversation and became increasingly suspicious.
"Mission? Top secret? So that's what they're up to! Well If she thinks she's going to keep this from me, she's mistaken. The minute she gets home, I'm going to give her a piece of my mind. Just as soon as I figure out how to get home."
She then noticed the muffin in her hand and wondered if it was what brought her here, then maybe……..
"I wish I was back in my room," she said as she took a bite.
And almost immediately, she disappeared.
Meanwhile, as the girls were dashing off to class, one of the zippers of Ronnie Anne's backpack started becoming undone and something fell out of it. It was the bottle that contained the Krabby Patty secret formula. It rolled out, down the hallway and towards a certain locker.
In that particular locker, Ronnie Anne's cousin Carl was hiding inside and noticed the bottle on the ground.
"Well, what do we have here?"
He picked it up, pulled out the cork, and took out the small paper inside. As he read it, Carl grinned very mischievously.
"Heh, heh. Look out, prima. You've got some tough competition for this food sale."
Back in Royal Woods, the twins were out in the school playground minding their own business (and looking for a certain friend of theirs).
"Where could Meli be?" Lola wondered.
"Beats me," Lana shrugged. "Kinda strange she didn't show up back in class today."
Then, almost immediately, their genius sister Lisa came running up to them frantically.
"Lola, Lana! This is urgent! Have either of you located Darcy recently?"
"If you're asking if we've seen her, no we haven't," Lana answered. "Also, have you seen Meli? She was here earlier."
"Unfortunately, I have not."
"That's so weird," Lana said. "She was here when we went back to class. Where can they be?"
Suddenly, a loud (yet muffled) beeping sound is heard.
"Hmmmm….strange." Lisa pulled the portable screen from her backpack. It had a red alert signal flashing on it. Upon tapping it, the screen showed an image of ChalkZone. "Very interesting."
"What? What is it?" The twins asked curiously.
"The monitor is showing some sort of anomaly located in ChalkZone," Lisa told them.
Lana looked confused. "An allama-what now?"
"Something unusual that has never appeared before has appeared in the chalk world."
"Let me see!" Lola demanded.
Lisa stood in the middle, allowing the twins to see the screen. On screen, they saw a small stuffed giraffe lying in the chalk grass.
"Isn't that Darcy's giraffe, Rafo?" Lola asked.
"As a matter of fact, it is," Lisa confirmed. "How odd."
But it wasn't long before Lana began to notice something else. "Wait! Lisa! Zoom in!" She said.
Lisa zoomed in closer. The girls then saw that lying in the grass was a hair berret, one which had grey pearl beads on it.
"That looks like one of Meli's berrets!" Lola observed.
"But what are Meli and Darcy's things doing in….." It didn't take Lana that long to realize that…. "OH NO! MELI AND DARCY ARE LOST IN CHALKZONE!!!"
Almost immediately, everyone went back to the Loud House for an investigation meeting.
"Look!"
However, the others seemed a bit confused.
"I'm sorry, what am I looking at?" Luna asked.
"There!" Lola pointed at the screen. "It's Meli's barrette, and Darcy's giraffe!"
"Maybe they just dropped their stuff in there," Leni replied stupidly, but optimistically.
"They were nowhere to be found," Lisa declared. "When I re-entered the classroom, Darcy had disappeared. And no trace of Meli either."
"What do you think, Lincoln?" Lana asked.
Lincoln nods. "It does look to me like Meli and Darcy fell into ChalkZone alright. Question is: how?"
Lola groaned. "Ugh! I knew it! I knew hiding the magic chalk under your hat was a stupid idea!"
"Dudes," Luna interrupted. "We have an even bigger problem. If those two are in ChalkZone, there's no telling what trouble they'll run into."
"Luna's right," Lana agreed. "Meli and Darcy don't know anything about ChalkZone or the multiverse. It could be dangerous for them! What if the syndicate catches them?!"
Lincoln tried to calm them down. "Alright! Nobody panic. We can fix this. All we have to do is find Meli and Darcy before the syndicate does. If we find them, bring them back, and the magic chalk, everything will be fine."
"Lincoln's right," Lori declared. "We can fix this. But we're going to need some help. Link, call Clyde and Ronnie Anne and tell them to meet us at the elementary school."
"You got it!"
"Everyone else, into the van. We gotta get there as soon as we can. If the syndicate finds those two, who knows who else they'll be after?"
Back at Chavez Academy, Carl began selling krabby patties at the school food sale (which he then called Carl Casagrande-burgers).
After some time had passed, Carl began counting the money in hand that he earned.
Then suddenly, a large ominous shadow loomed over him. Carl looked up and saw a mysterious figure standing right before him.
"Uh disculpe, can I help you?" Carl asked.
"Yes," came the ominous voice. "I've come to inspect your product."
"Look, I'm not a charity. If you don't have any money to pay, I suggest you skedaddle."
"Oh, I deeply insist." The disguised figure took a burger and sniffed it. "Interesting scent. May I ask, what is your secret?"
"That is for me to know. Now are you going to buy one? Because otherwise, beat it."
"I never buy what I want, I just take it. And this particular patty isn't the only thing I'm searching for. I think it'd be best if you come with me."
"You know, normally I'd oblige, but if I don't get back to class, I'll get sent to detention (again)."
"Oh I'm sure they won't mind."
"Sorry, but I really got to go."
"Oh no you don't!" The figure grabbed Carl's arm tightly. "You're coming with me whether you like it or not!"
The figure also held a remote and pressed a button.
As he let out an evil laugh, the shadow began to fade, revealing that the figure was none other than Plankton in a robot suit.
Suddenly, a bright light consumed both of them and the two faded away.
Back at the Casagrande's building, Sid was home from school and headed into her room in a less-than-cheerful mood.
As such, she slumped face first on her bed.
"Well, that was a bust," she sulked. "Not only did those muffins come out bad, but we got overshadowed by Ronnie Anne's cousin and his burgers at the sale. Though I gotta admit, they were pretty tasty. But kinda familiar somehow."
Just then, her phone rings. It was her bestie.
"Sid! Sid! Come in!"
"Hey, Ronnie Anne. What's up?"
"We've got a problem. Lincoln called me. Apparently two of his sisters' friends have gone missing. We need to meet them at Royal Woods Elementary and search for them."
"What?! Okay, I'm on my way!"
Sid immediately jumped out of bed and rushed to the door.
But when she opened it, she found her little sister Adelaide standing in front of her. She had a stern look on her face and her arms crossed as she was tapping her foot.
"Hello sis. Whatcha up to?"
Sid tried to move past her. "Not right now, Adelaide. I gotta go."
"Go? Go where?"
"Nowhere important. But I gotta leave. Ronnie Anne needs me."
"Sid, tell me what's going on."
"I said 'not now'. We'll talk later. Right now I have somewhere to be."
"Oh really? This wouldn't happen to be a top secret mission, would it?"
Sid then stopped in her tracks and got nervous. "What are you talking about?"
"You and Ronnie Anne have been going on secret adventures together, haven't you?"
"Well I……How did you—wait! Have you been eavesdropping on me again?! You know how I feel about that!"
"Well how do you think I feel? You guys are keeping secrets from me and I don't like it!"
"What me and Ronnie Anne are up to is none of your business!"
"Why don't you just tell me? It's not like I'd tell anyone!"
"That doesn't matter! This doesn't concern you!"
"But that's what you always say! You never want to do anything with me! You never want to include me in anything! It's not fair!"
"Look, Adelaide! I don't have time for this. If you're going to act that way, I think you need to take a timeout."
"Fine! I'll go have my own fun! Who needs you anyway?"
Adelaide stormed away while Sid ran off. Along the way, Adelaide kept grumbling to herself. She also took one of the magic muffins to snack on. It didn't taste all good, but she was too mad to care. "Augh! Stupid Sid and her stupid secrets! She makes me so mad!"
As a last resort, she headed up to the roof, where she found her pet frog Froggy 2 relaxing in a lawn chair.
"Hi Froggy 2. Mind if I cop a squat?"
Froggy 2 ribbits in response. Adelaide takes a seat in the lawn chair next to him and sighs depressingly. Froggy 2 lets out another croak in response.
Adelaide got defensive. "What do you mean 'what's wrong'? There's nothing wrong!"
Froggy 2 just gives her a stern look.
Adelaide then sighs. "You're right. I guess I just feel lonely. It's my sister, Sid. I asked her if she wanted to play with me, but all she wants to do is hang out with Ronnie Anne. And even when she promises she'll play later, she ends up being busy with someone else. I mean I get that they're both the same age, but it's like I barely even exist. I don't know. I just feel really left out."
Froggy 2 croaks again.
"Maybe you're right. I could use some time to relax."
And so she did.
Just then, a huge ominous shadow came looming over their heads, blocking the sunlight.
"Huh? It wasn't cloudy a minute ago."
Adelaide opened her eyes and looked up. When she saw what was above her, she was shocked. Up in the sky was a giant airship, which looked very dark and menacing. Within seconds, a tractor beam came out of it and abducted both Adelaide and Froggy 2 in their lawn chairs and into the hatch. The hatch then closed and the ship took off.
That should do for now
But before I go, I do have a minor disclaimer.
You see, it has come to my attention that the new Fairly OddParents series A New Wish has renamed the classic character Poof as Peri, with the main reason being the former word being an offensive slur in certain countries. (Not entirely sure how), but in that regard, I completely understand.
However, from this story onward, I would just like to state that I will be using the word Poof ONLY to refer to the name of the classic FOP character and as a sound effect. I will NOT be using it as a 'derogatory term'. So if anyone does get offended, I deeply apologize. It is never my intention to offend anyone.
(Please note: It's not so much the words themselves that matter, it's the context in which they are used)
Just thought I'd clarify
Anyway, stay tuned for more
