Chapter 1: Brotherstripped
Luigi walked up to the throne room with Daisy by his side. Peach was there, her eyes red from crying…over someone she couldn't remember.
"Luigi…I…" Peach trembled, but Luigi shook his head. "Peach, it's-a not your fault. It was…too sudden." Luigi also began to silently tear up for a person he couldn't remember. "But…whoever that monster killed…he killed more than the person…I can't ever remember who that person was."
Daisy clutched Luigi's hand, showing her support. Luigi had considered proposing…but something changed that yesterday. Probably the death of…well, he'll just refer to this person he couldn't remember as M. After all, the cap had an M on it.
"I'm…I'm-a trying to remember…" Luigi stuttered, trying to recall what he saw. "The…the monster…i heard Cloud say his name was-a Sephiroth… he killed…uh...M, and Master Hand took-a initiative to immediately grab him and put him in some kind-a of prison…but…all of a sudden, I had no idea who was-a even killed…all I saw was a red hat with-a the letter M on it, and-a the body…i couldn't even…comprehend it. It was…hurting my eyes to look at the corpse."
Luigi lightly ran his arm over his other broken arm. "Before-a Master Hand imprisoned Sephiroth, I immediately jumped-a in…because the person he-a killed…was someone important to me, important-a to us. Sephiroth used his arm to immediately crack-a my arm…there was so much-a force. He's-a…demonic" Luigi shook his head as tears dribbled down his cheeks.
"I think…i think M was…" his voice caught in his throat, as if something was deliberately blocking his vocal cords…something was trying to keep him from sharing any information. However, Luigi pushed forward, and choked it out. "My…m-my brot…BROTHER!"
The others stared, their Eyes starting to sparkle with recognition. "Y-yes…he was! It felt like a lock just opened in my mind, but…there's still so many. Someone doesn't want us to remember…" Daisy said, fire burning in her eyes. "Maybe…maybe we can find a way to save whoever M is…but if he is your brother, then you need to take charge, Luigi. Are you prepared to do that?"
Luigi gulped, his legs shaking. There's no doubt this was a dangerous quest to go on…but he needed to do it. He needed to avenge M, his brother. "Y…YES!" He yelled with force, causing the princesses to recoil a bit. "O-oops, sorry. I just…I'm trying to not be scared."
Peach nodded, wiping away the last of her tears. "We believe in you, Luigi. Your memories seem to be the key to unlocking the rest of ours. You should head back to the Smash dojo and try to gather Information. Maybe other people can help you…I need to protect our kingdom."
Luigi hesitantly nodded back, and held onto Daisy's hand as they walked out of the castle, preparing to confront anyone who could tell them who M was.
