These Days of Nothing but Tantalizing Dilemmas

i. Comfort

The Boy in the Tree denies feeling lonely—he's a boy, after all—but Nokoru sees the sadness in his eyes and wants to make that sadness go away.

ii. Kiss

They don't know who makes the first move, but next thing they know, they're kissing under the campus Thujopsis, book forgotten.

iii. Soft

Nokoru's hair is every bit as soft as Idomu expected it to be.

iv. Pain

Once Nokoru figures out it was him the whole time, there's pain in those blue eyes, and that twisted part of Idomu relishes it.

v. Potatoes

At the greenhouse, Idomu holds up a Baron potato teasingly, and an impromptu game of keep-away ensues.

vi. Rain

The broad leaves make for poor umbrellas, but the boys are having so much fun they don't even care.

vii. Chocolate

For the first time that Suoh and Akira can remember, Kaichou is purchasing chocolates as well as receiving them—for someone he secretly admires, he says with a blush—and they dread word of this getting out to the female student body.

viii. Happiness

His first day back at Clamp, Idomu is nearly bowled over by Nokoru's hug; "That happy to see me, eh?"

ix. Telephone

It's not the same as talking in person, but with Idomu overseas, Nokoru will take what he can get.

x. Ears

As much as Suoh wants to tell Kaichou to stay away from Yudaiji, he knows it'll only fall upon deaf ears.

xi. Name

It never occurs to them to learn each other's names, but what's in a name when you're having so much fun together?

xii. Sensual

It doesn't matter who looks more ravishing in a yukata; they'll be out of them by midnight.

xiii. Death

Nokoru could've easily saved himself, left him to die on that runaway train; but instead, he came back for him, and Idomu will always be grateful for that.

xiv. Sex

Miles away from a certain reunion, Suoh's teacup cracks, and when Ijuin asks what's wrong, Suoh can only answer, eye twitching, "I feel like something… very wrong… has just happened…"

xv. Touch

When Idomu writes to Nokoru, he sometimes sends letters as paper airplanes; his own personal touch.

xvi. Weakness

Upon learning of Yudaiji's return to Clamp, he is certain—absolutely certain—that Yudaiji will either be a threat or a liability to Kaichou, and Suoh doesn't know which is worse.

xvii. Tears

On the day Idomu leaves Clamp, Nokoru beelines for the Thujopsis tree, and that's when the tears come.

xviii. Speed

Overseas, Idomu rides his motorcycle, imagining Nokoru riding behind him.

xix. Wind

When one of Idomu's paper airplanes is blown off-course, Nokoru is quick to take responsibility; he's not the one Suoh would kill.

xx. Freedom

Idomu enjoys his freedom abroad; he just wishes he didn't have to leave Clamp (and Nokoru) to find it.

xxi. Life

Suoh's rant to Akira: "Letting Yudaiji back on campus was one thing but does Kaichou have to let him back into his life?!"

xxii. Jealousy

When his mother gifts the other boy a smile that should've been his, the seed takes root.

xxiii. Hands

Atop the plateau, Idomu sees something flicker in the blonde's face and inwardly smirks, knowing that the truth will hit him soon enough.

xxiv. Taste

As he commandeers the Detectives' blimp, Idomu savors his tea as much as he does Nokoru's admission of defeat.

xxv. Devotion

Listening to him play, Nokoru is relieved that Idomu is devoting himself to the piano rather than hacking.

xxvi. Forever

Actually, Nokoru could listen to him play forever.

xxvii. Blood

Ever since Yudaiji's return, Akira's been worried about Takamura-sempai's blood pressure.

xxviii. Sickness

Like a cancer, Idomu can see his blackout spreading around Nokoru's precious campus, and his only regret is not seeing the blonde's face right now.

xxix. Melody

After Idomu leaves Clamp, every time the piano is played, Nokoru has to walk a little faster past the music room, his averted eyes stinging.

xxx. Star

As Clamp celebrates Tanabata, Nokoru's heart (as is its wont) goes out to the Weaver Girl, no stranger to separation from one's love.

xxxi. Home

Every so often, Idomu finds himself gazing at the horizon, thinking of the campus he's left behind.

xxxii. Confusion

When recent transfer Idomu Yudaiji introduces himself to the Clamp School Detectives, Nokoru can't shake the feeling that he knows him from somewhere…

xxxiii. Fear

At the Boy in the Tree's invitation, Nokoru hesitates (his strengths have always been more intellectual than physical), but the boy offers his hand to him, and Nokoru's fear dissipates.

xxxiv. Lightning/Thunder

Nice touch, Idomu thinks as he watches a bolt branch across the sky; he also hopes his chosen nemesis doesn't have that childish fear of thunder.

xxxv. Bonds

Upon transferring to Clamp, Idomu goes out of his way to make himself known to the Imonoyama heir's inner circle, his little declaration of war; what better way to get Nokoru's attention?

xxxvi. Market

Nokoru knows that Idomu's also popular with the girls… and that, like him, he won't be on the market for a girlfriend any time soon.

xxxvii. Technology

Computers have always been Idomu's forte, and they'll be his weapon against the one who stole his mother's smile

xxxviii. Gift

Midoriko can only laugh at the irony: Nokoru Imonoyama, regarded by the female student body as God's gift to them… is with a guy.

ixl. Smile

Thinking about Nokoru's duties, Idomu can't help but wonder if the blonde's smile is but a plastic one.

xl. Innocence

Nokoru apologizes for whatever he's done to offend him, and it irks Idomu that much more; how dare he be the picture of something he'd lost so long ago?!

xli. Completion

With one last tap of the ENTER key, Idomu smirks, knowing that his revenge against Nokoru will be complete.

xlii. Clouds

As Suoh stresses about Kaichou's head being in the clouds ("Fucking Yudaiji…!"), Akira worries about the storm clouds brewing over Takamura-sempai's.

xliii. Sky

He never expected Nokoru to blow up his own blimp, but nonetheless, Idomu knows he's making Nokoru's sky fall.

xliv. Heaven

For Idomu, any Thujopsis tree is a slice of heaven.

xlv. Hell

Idomu has put Nokoru through Hell once before; he swears to never do that again.

xlvi. Sun

As the Sun rises on the post-Revenge campus, it sets on Idomu's deep-seated vendetta, and he's okay with that.

xlvii. Moon

As the blood moon omens over Clamp, Idomu plots and Nokoru dreams just as ominously.

xlviii. Waves

Hearing the girls talk about him, Idomu knows he's making waves; all the better to draw Nokoru's attention.

il. Hair

Idomu's pet name for Nokoru: Goldilocks.

l. Supernova

Upon his transfer to Clamp, Idomu Yudaiji is a superstar, a supernova, in his own right… and he is determined to reduce the current superstar, Nokoru Imonoyama, to a black hole.
