Shikamaru looked up from the match and towards Naruto "Well it seems that you were right about Sasuke winning" Naruto stopped looking around and turned to the boy "It seems so..." as Naruto went to continue, he was interrupted by the proctor who was now announcing the next match.
Temari Vs Kankuro
As the two fighters stepped into the arena it was the boy with puppets to speak up "I forfeit the match" as he finished boo's could be heard coming from the crowd. "The winner of this match is Temari of the Sand Village"
Naruto hearing this would be suspicious. Even though they were from the same village he sensed that they had over half of their charka left. So, them not fight would leave many questions unanswered.
deciding not to Dewell on it too much he would turn his attention back to the arena.
Shikamaru Nara vs Garra of the sand
Naruto turning to his best friend would worry about him especially after what happened to Lee. Just thinking about it made him shiver. "Shika..." before Naruto could finish the black-haired boy spoke up. "I'm sorry Naruto but I have to accept this Challege to test my new skills" Shikamaru turned to the boy eyes sharp, head high, and his shoulder's squared.
Naruto Knew there was nothing that he could do to change his friend's mind he was deadest to prove himself. Naruto knew his friend was unlike other Nara's when he was determined nothing could stop him. Sighing he turned away from the boy "Show them what you got."
Not needing any other words Shikamaru made his way down into the arena. *Yawn*Can we hurry this up maybe*Yawn*.
The proctor watching the two decided to start the match "Start!"
Shikamaru would instantly jump back but Garra didn't move at all. 'Alright so I know that he has an automatic defense. He also has a layer of sand that covers his whole body. Damnit, I wish I had learned water Jutsu during the Break.' as Shikamaru continued to formulate a plan Garra made the first move.
With a flick of his hand a wave of sand was upon Shikamaru. As the sand started closing in Shikamaru swapped with a nearby log. Reappearing with two explosive Kunai in hand throwing them at Garra. As the Kunai closed in Garra's sand automatically shielded him.
the paper tags automatically exploded after making contact with the sand. Seeing this Shikamaru smirked over the past month he had spent time strengthening his Yin release. Which made his ability to manipulate shadows stronger. Shikamaru using the smoke created by the explosion flashed through hand signs.
Dog-Boar-Ram-Rat
"Shadow crescent Jutsu" Shikamaru's shadow raced at high speeds connecting to the shadow created by the explosions smoke. The shadow expanded covering the sand along with the smoke. Shikamaru would move his hand into the serpent position. The shadow now shaped like a massive crescent started to form spikes along its surface. Finally, he would clap his hands, and the crescent ball starts to devour the sand ball.
What would come next was a scream that incased the whole arena. As soon as Shikamaru ended the jutsu he saw Garra bleeding from his head, arms, and legs. 'Is this blood' he then proceeds to touch the wound "It's my blood... It's my blood!" A heavy amount of KI washed over the arena as Garra started to transform into his half transformation.
Garra would rush at Shikamaru like a rabied animal throwing punches, and kicks. Shikamaru dodged as best he could. Until he was caught off guard from a unexpected rib shot that tossed him halfway across the arena.
As he tried to stand, he clutched his left side in pain. "Seems he broke a few. What do I do now". Shikamaru now with a few broken ribs knew that it would be harder for him defend against Garra. 'Well I guess this is as far as I go.' "I forfeit" as Shikamaru turned around to walk away. Garra blitzed pass the propter towards Shikamaru "Mother will have your blood" but before Garra could make it to Shikamaru he was stopped.
Standing infront of him was Naruto. "He said that he forfeited the match is over" He looked right into the red-haired boy's eyes staring straight into his soul. "Mother wants his blood and she will have it!" As the two boys stared each other down it was Naruto who made the first move flaring his charka with a hint of the Kyuubi's. In retaliation Garra sprinted away leaving the arena followed closrly behind by Kankuro and Temari.
Kage's Booth
As the two kage watched the scene unfold it was the kazekage who made the first move. Sending his golden sand towards Hirzen who reappeared 200 meters away. The Kazekage followed Hiruzen who led the two to a forest.
As the two arrived six more figures would appear from the tree line...
