Set after s2 ep 10
Nya wasn't sure what she was doing. She just needed to be outside and alone. And by outside she means in the sky with Jiro flying her. After losing Kai after being so close to reuniting with her entire family, she couldn't stop thinking about it. Again, and again, and again. Although she rarely showed and brought it up to the others it was slowly chipping her away. The wall keeping her safe was slowly breaking down. She felt angry, sad, nauseous even. Yet she could barely keep still and yet if she moved she would feel anxious.
Training was the only thing she felt up to, but in a random burst of rage Nya ended up breaking a part of the training course.
She told Lloyd she was just going for a fly-around for a bit, but he didn't believe her. The two got into a heated argument about each other's mental state, and how they should deal with it. It got a little out of hand with Nya splashing some water on Lloyd. This ended the argument with Lloyd going back inside to get a towel so Nya ran to get Jiro. Of course, she was feeling guilty leaving Lloyd without apologizing to him, but she needed to get away.
Snapping out of her thoughts was Jiro descending from the sky into the ground. When they landed Jiro fell asleep pretty quickly. "Aww looks like I interrupted your nap time, I'll wait," Nya said softly, petting his head. Nya felt pretty tired since she hadn't slept much the last few nights, but she wanted to take a walk.
Nya looked around at her settings. It was a lush jungle, filled with mostly aquatic plants. It was filled with colors of aquamarine, and coral red. Exploring the area, she noticed the structure appearing in the distance. It looked to be a temple. As soon as Nya saw it she quickly scurried somewhere else. There was no way she was going to a possibly abandoned, cursed, or filled with death trap temples. She was done for a lifetime. No exploring for a while, no siree.
That's when she noticed something rustling in the bushes. Was it a creature? Nya regretted not bringing her spear with her. 'Haaaaaa!' a ball came striking at Nya sending her flying. Unfortunately, Nya recognized the voice. "Prepare to die!" The lady readied her spike club at Nya.
"Wait, lady, wait it's me, Nya!" Nya jumped and stopped her attack, getting a good look at her attacker. It was Queen Murtessa of the Munce. "Yang servant?" Nya let go of the club.
"Oh great, you still remember me," Nya grumbled. "Unfortunately Yang servant."
"Nya," "Queen Murtessa." They gave each other gruff looks. Neither of them cared for each other. They were alliesâonce. "What are you doing here?" Queen Murtessa asked, not looking at her. "I was on a walk, and then you attacked me." "I thought you were an enemy." "Clearly"
"And my sweet Jay?" "My Jay." "Ah, sure."
Oh great, the reason for this trip was to get some air and clear her thoughts. Now here she was being asked where Jay was. It was on the back of her mind since the cave incident but she didn't surface her feelings right now or more than just the training course may get destroyed.
"I don't know, I haven't seen him since the merge," Nya admitted. "He left you about time." Murtessa laughed.
"NO! I haven't seen him since the merge because we were separated, against our will, and I really miss him right now, and I really want to see him again, but I can't let it distract me because my brother is now trapped in the moon, and I need to support the others and you're not helping. " Dang it Nya's wall broke. Exactly what she feared would happen if she stayed in the monastery.
"I didn't ask for the whole story. You creatures are so emotional."
"Yeah," Nya sniffed a sob. "Well if you were wondering, some of us Munce are searching for some other places to stay. With the world so big now, very few want to stay in the mountains."
"Well, good luck with that!" Nya, not wanting to stay any longer, tried to hurry as fast as she could.
"Wait, I need your…help." The queen said reluctantly. "You need my help?" Nya never thought she'd see the day.
"As repayment for helping you with the Munce!"
"Why do you still remember that?"
"Now then!" ignoring Nya's question. "You see that mookie spooky temple in the distance!"
"Yes,"
"It's filled with water so I need you to empty it out!"
"I'm sorry you want me to use my powers to basically flush out an entire temple that's probably haunted or cursed or crawling with booby traps."
"That's what I said."
"Nope, sorry, I was just in a temple last week and a tomb a couple of months ago so no thanks."
Queen Murtessa intercepted her. "Please? This is important for me."
Damn, well maybe Nya could do her a favor. If Munce Queen could lower her ego, maybe she would give her a chance.
"Okay, lead the way."
"Finally! Off we go!"
Murtessa led inside Nya to the temple and sure enough, it was filled with water. Not completely though, just about the size of a swimming pool.
"So you can get rid of it?"
"Yeah, I think so." Nya used her powers to move the water into a giant ball and moved it outside into the creek.
"Whew, all done!" Nya sat down on the stairs in the temple, until she felt something wack her.
"Hey!"
"Come there's still some more work!"
Nya was led further into the temple and was forced to clean out most of it. Surprisingly nothing attempted to attack her or throw poison arrows at her.
They finally reached a room filled with pools of water.
"Do you want to get rid of all this water?"
"Meh, just get rid of all the extra stuff." Murtessa left her be so Nya just finished quietly.
"Great, now I can go see if Jiro's awake." Nya yawned, feeling a bit drained. Nya sat down, by a staircase, and closed her eyes. She couldn't get too comfortable, since it was really cold. There was the option of going back to the warmth of the monastery, but it didn't have the same warmth without everyone else. Her family was missing. Nya drifted off to sleep but didn't realize a water dripping on her head.

"Nya wake up!" said a familiar voice. Nya opened her eyes and looked around. It was her room but it felt off. "Nya, come on get up!" said the voice again. She looked to see her Jay, right in front of her. "Jay, we don't have training this morning, let me sleep in." Nya groaned but she couldn't be mad at Jay. "I know better than to wake you up in the morning but like you said we're off all day so we have to enjoy it to the fullest, and the others really want to go to the beach.
A beach day. It has been forever since everyone on the team went to the beach, well at a beach to have fun and not be stranded on one. 2 times yet, strangely, it happened twice. "Okay give me some time to get ready."
"Alright, I'll be back soon." Jay excitedly left for his room. Nya pulled over the covers and closed her eyes. Yet she could hear the others excitedly getting their things. She was happy to be here with her family. It was a comfy feeling. Yet she felt kind of woozy, kind of like she was in a dream.
Later at the beach~
"Alright SUMMER! WHOOP WHOOP!" Cole cheered loudly, running towards the water.
"Cole put on some sunscreen first!" Zane ran after him with some sunscreen in his hand.
"SUNSCREENS FOR LOSERS!" Cole gave him a runaround. Ninjago City beach is usually quite empty on a weekday but today it was packed. Mainly due to the perfect sunny weather for a beach day.
"You know, Kai, can you get sunburned?" Lloyd asked.
"Of course, I can get sunburned!" Kai laughed. "What kind of question is that?" Kai brought out some deflated floaties out of the back of his bike.
"One time, Kai was so focused on getting me to put sunscreen he forgot to put some on himself, and well let's say he got the tan he wanted so badly," Nya laughed explaining it to Lloyd.
"No worries Sis, I've grown up it won't happen again," Kai said strutting down to the beach with the floaties.
"Did you put sunscreen on before we left?" Kai stopped to think. "No, I did not. Zane, you got any more sunscreen left?"
"Plenty!" Zane yelled back with a defeated Cole on the ground.
Near the vehicle. "Pixal, did you bring the drinks?" Jay buzzed. " Yes, Jay."
"What about the meat? We can't have a barbecue without meat!"
"Yes, Jay I packed the meat."
"What about ice cream?" Pixal just picked up the cooler and dropped it in his hands.
"Check inside." and walked off coolly.
"I think Nya's teaching you too much sass."
"No, she only taught me how to deal with you."
"I think you've got some iciness from Zane."
"Jay come on." " "Yes, Ice Queen!"
Back at the beach:
"Why didn't you bring the pump?" Kai yelled at no one in particular.
"It was your job!" Cole rumbled. "Just blow it up yourself master of hot air!"
"That is extremely dangerous." "Then you do it, Zane. "Kai yelled back angrily. "I don't breathe oxygen, how would I do that?" Zane groaned.
"Ahh right." It seems the ninja find themselves stuck without a pump. "Wait a minute, where are Nya and Lloyd?" Kai looked around while the others gave him looks. "Don't you dare walk out of this one Kai!"
"No Cole you don't understand. Lloyd's the one who packed the water guns, and Nya is with him." Kai rolled his hands trying to get the others to understand his train of logic. "Hey guys, we're ready to start the barbecue!" Jay and Pixal sat down on all the items. "Guys please tell me you've seen Nya and Lloyd?" Kai pleaded.
"No, we have not?" Pixel replied. "Kai, what's going on?" Just as Kai was about to reply he was hit by a water blast on the cheek. The group looked over to see the missing ninja with two water guns in each hand standing atop a large rock. "WATER GUN FIGHT!" Lloyd bellowed and aimed at the surprised ninja. The two began blasting the others with a barge of water blasts that forced the others to take cover at another nearby rock.
"I knew it! Those little brats. They're going to get my hair wet!" Kai. That's when a water blast with incredibly precise aim, hit Kai's hair, and messed it up. "NYA I KNOW IT WAS YOU!"
"Eat it, and weep bro!" Nya laughed, with Lloyd cheering. "I can't believe it! I raised you, both of you and this is how you betray me!" Kai shook his now wet fist, with playful anger.
"Okay guys, time to make a game plan." Everyone huddled together around Jay. Pixel was just as confused but went along with the shenanigans. "Okay, Nya and Lloyd have all the weapons, with Nya pretty much having 100% accuracy since she can manipulate the water to hit us directly and they have the higher ground. Now what do we have?" Jay looked around the team with little encouragement on their faces.
"We have some water guns ourselves." Pixel brought out two water guns from out of nowhere.
"Yas Ice Queen with the save!" "Don't call me that." Jay nodded in response.
"Okay Me, Zane, and Pixal, will act as shields while Jay and Cole sneak up on the brats from behind!" Kai gave out the order with his soggy hair swaying around as he talked. "Wait, why are me and Pixal decoys?" "Because you're metal, you're not bothered by water" "I would still rather not get wet." "Come on, let's enjoy the fun." Zane nodded to Pixal.
"CHAAAAARGE!" The three decoys charged into battle with Kai trying to take the lead but tripped on a log due to his soggy hair. "Keep going, I'll catch up!"
Pixal and Zane just kept trotting along not being too bothered by the blasts of water.
"No fair, using Zane and Pixal and shields!" Lloyd groaned but kept blasting either way. "Wait, where are Jay and Cole?"
"Aahha got you!" Nya and Lloyd turned around to see Cole and Jay pointing water guns at them and began a full-on barrage of water blasts."Nooo we're so close!" Nya laughed. She didn't bother to use her powers at that moment, she wanted to have a little bit of fun without them.
Just as the water was blasting Nya, she couldn't feel the water being blasted on her face for some reason. She felt wet, but not in the normal way. The world around her felt light and cold. Not the kind of weather you'd normally be experiencing at the beach.
"I surrender, I surrender!" Lloyd said, dropping the water guns. "You two can't beat us the o.g's so easily." Jay laughed and took the water guns from them. "Nah that was all Pixal and you know it," Lloyd said.
"Wait a minute, I haven't surrendered yet." Nya gave the boys a smirk. The boys held up the guns again. "I love you Nya but you're surrounded and we have all the weapons. Jay tossed the guns to Kai and Zane and now they were surrounded. (Pixal was bringing towels).
"Yeah but funny thing, we're at the beach. Near a whole lotta water." The others focused in closer. "Nya you wouldn't dare," Cole said nervously. "Oh, I do dare Cole. I do dare."
Before the others could say anything, they turned to see a wave of water rising and coming closer, and closer, and splashing! '
NYAAAAAAAAAAA!" Kai yelled as he was submerged in water. The wave parted right where Nya and Lloyd were standing but swept off all the others. "Nya you are maniac." Lloyd sighed, lucky he was on her side for this round. Nya was just cackling. She said she would stop using her powers but this was too much fun. Aaah she missed this.

"Sorry guys, I may have taken it a bit too far." Nya apologized as the others were drying off. "Apology not accepted Sis, my hair is absolutely ruined." Kai scoffed drying off his hair. It had become really droopy without the gel. "How will you make this up to me?"
"Ah, come on, you look nice like that. You should be grateful."
"It was a nice soak anyway," Jay said with a towel wrapped around him. "You call that a soak! It was a downpour!" Kai shot back.
Jay and Kai argued for a little while longer. This was normal of course. Just like two brothers should. The rest of the day turned out nicely for once. Well if you don't count Kai and Zane squabbling over how much heat should be used on the grill. The sun eventually turned a nice shade of yellow, purple, and pink signaling it was almost time to go home. The ninja were finishing up the ice cream they had brought before packing up.
Nya was watching the turn of the tide, as the sun was fading away. "I was the one who insisted on bringing "Did you just come here to complain?" Nya smiled, leaning on his shoulder. "Because I know you love listening to my voice." Jay put his arm around Nya and held her close, staring into the sun. "Hey Jay, thanks for waking me up this morning." Nya hummed. "That's what you want to thank me for? Not my amazing sense of humor, or my amazing kisses." Nya punched him jokingly, "No I'm just happy I got to spend the day with everyone, but I do love your kisses." Nya and Jay leaned in closer, and closer, and-
"WAKE UP!" Nya felt a very powerful slap across her face. "Aww, what was that for?" Nya groaned, checking her cheek. She was on the ground soaking wet in a puddle. That makes sense as to why she was feeling wet, water was dripping from the ceiling.
"You weren't waking up. I thought you were dead." Murstessa grumbled. "Be honest you would've much preferred me dead."
"That is not true!"
Yeah uh." Nya looked down and she was soaking wet. "Ah well it's already dark so you better head back" Murtessa said.
"Ah well thank you I guess" Nya just gave in. Even though she ruined her dream Kai and Lloyd interrupted that kiss either way so it wasn't that bad. The two walked out of the temple much to Nya's relief. Too many temples, ruins, tombs, and traps for Nya to deal with.
"I have to thank you. For saving us from the flood."
"Really?"
"I was there at your ceremony." The queen quickly continued. "It was a sad day."
Oh, she never really asked much about that day. Only that the entire city came, and others. She never knew how much people cared about her. She needs to head back to the monastery, and e care of the family she has right now.
"I have to go now. I hope you like it in that creepy temple" Nya said goodbye to the Queen and tried to head off before the Murtessa spoke up. "Hey I hope you find my I mean your Jay, and your brother," Murtessa said sincerely, trying to give a smile, but it wasn't working.
"Thank you. I needed that" Nya sniffled a bit.

While flying back on Jiro, Nya had one more memory. (This is it I promise.)
It was the day Nya and Kai met up for the first time right after the merge, and Kai was showing her around the Kingdom of Madness.
"Hey, Sis, try this mud!" Kai held a bowl of blue mud and showed it to Nya. "What?" Nya looked at him like he was crazy. "Here, eat it!" "Eat the mud?" "Look it's not as weird as it sounds, it's pretty good." Kai just casually began eating the bowl of mud. Nya just looked away in disgust. "Come have some." Kai held up a glob of mud to Nya's face.
"Ah no thanks." Nya just backed away. "Sis what did I say about being picky about your food," "Find a way to throw it into the furnace." "What no? Did you do that to the vegetables I gave you?" Kai looked shocked.
"Maybe.." "Okay what a waste of good food, and you've got to try the mud, it's not the bad."
Kai tried to force-feed her, but she kept moving and dodging. This led to a chase around the village with two siblings arguing, with the craglings unsure how to intervene. It ended with Kai finally being able to get some mud in Nya's mouth, and hey it wasn't bad.
She giggled at the memory, and hey you would be skeptical about eating mud for the first time. FSM knows how Kai felt about eating mud for the first time. She wanted to know the answer now.
Nya looked up to the moon like she had been doing since looking up at the sky that first night back at the monastery. Nya hoped she would find and help her family. She was less certain this time round, but hey right now she just needed a little bit of hope.

Last week I found the draft for this chapter and I thought hey if I updated this for after s2 it could work. So a good half of this story was from November 10, and the rest from last week.
I tried to condense this to be as short as possible, so at first I went on a break just until s2 came out but here we are about a month later. I'll be completely honest, I just did not like part 1, but I don't have the time to unpack those feelings because school's almost over. Let's say I needed a break from Ninjago which I didn't think was possible. Anyway, I'm working on a bit of a bonus chapter, and discussion chapter because I need to talk about the set leaks. Wait I'm forgetting something, oh yeah. Breaths in* NYA CALLED JAY THE LOVE OF HER LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay it's been a month I think we've all processed it.
