Bowser Jr.'s Big Ice Hockey Debut
The first day of winter blanketed Bowser's Castle in frosty splendor, transforming the courtyard into a shimmering ice arena. Icicles glistened like jewels from the battlements, and the frigid air carried the cheers of excited spectators—Goombas, Koopas, and a few curious Shy Guys. Today wasn't just another day in the Koopa Kingdom; it was the highly anticipated ice hockey exhibition match between the Goombas and Koopas. And presiding over the event as referee was none other than Bowser Jr.
Dressed in a custom referee jersey—complete with stripes and his personal bib emblem—Bowser Jr. skated out onto the center ice, the crowd erupting into cheers. He held the official game puck, a glossy black disc adorned with the unmistakable Bowser emblem, in his claw. It was his first time officiating, and the young Koopa Prince felt both nervous and excited.
He raised a microphone to his snout. "Alright, listen up, everyone!" His voice echoed across the icy field. "I'm in charge, so no shell-throwing, no stomping, and definitely no banana peels!" A few Goombas snickered, but they all nodded obediently. "Now, let's get this game started!"
Bowser Jr. skated to center ice, where the Goomba and Koopa team captains waited: Goomboss, a burly Goomba with a steely gaze, and Koopa Troopa, who sported a shiny helmet and determined grin. The two leaned in, ready for the puck drop.
"Ready… set… GO!" Bowser Jr. released the puck, and it smacked against the ice with a satisfying thunk. The game was on.
The Goombas relied on their speed and agility, darting around the rink like wind. The Koopas, on the other hand, used brute strength and clever passing plays. Bowser Jr. zipped around the ice, whistling at fouls and occasionally laughing as players tumbled into snowbanks at the rink's edge.
The crowd erupted with each goal—Goomboss scored first with a sneaky slap shot, followed by a lightning-fast counter from Koopa Troopa. The scoreboard soon read 2-2, with both teams visibly exhausted yet determined. The tension in the air was electric as Bowser Jr. skated to the announcer's box.
"Alright, folks! It's time for the final faceoff!" he declared. The crowd roared as the arena lights dimmed, leaving only a single spotlight on the center ice. The dramatic effect was Bowser Jr.'s idea, and he grinned proudly as the players took their positions.
With the puck in his claw, Bowser Jr. waited, building the suspense. The Goombas and Koopas leaned forward, their eyes locked on his every move. The crowd held its breath.
And then… Bowser Jr. let go.
The puck fell in slow motion, spinning as it descended toward the ice. Gasps rippled through the audience, and time seemed to freeze for just a moment.
CLACK!
The puck hit the ice, and chaos erupted. Players scrambled for control, sticks clashing in a frantic bid for possession. Koopa Troopa snagged it and passed to a teammate, who raced down the rink. But the Goombas weren't giving up—they charged after him, closing the gap.
In a heart-stopping final play, Koopa Troopa fired the puck toward the goal just as Goomboss dove to block it. The puck slid past the goalie and into the net with a resounding clang!
"GOAL!" Bowser Jr. shouted, throwing his arms in the air as the Koopas celebrated wildly. Fireworks exploded overhead, lighting up the icy sky, and the crowd erupted into cheers.
As the players gathered for handshakes, Bowser Jr. skated to the center of the rink and raised the microphone one last time. "That was awesome! Great job, everyone! And hey, maybe next time I'll play instead of ref!" The crowd laughed and cheered, and Bowser Jr. basked in the applause, already dreaming of his next big moment on the ice.
For Bowser Jr., this winter day was more than just a game—it was a chance to shine, to lead, and to bring the Koopa Kingdom together in icy, heart-pounding fun.
