Even in the 41st Millenium, You Can't Escape

"You have to get me out of there for the next few cycles!"

Out of all the things I expected to come out of the mouth of a Daemon Princess, let alone of Slaanesh, that didn't even make the list. And yet, here I was, talking to Emili from our usual spot in the House of Rememberance. While this was hardly new (and I hated how used to this I was at this point, though never thinking said thoughts too loudly), this time Krytsabel said it was an emergency in the highest order and that Emily was begging for my appearance. And to see her so afraid was shocking. Even Krystabel momentarily took a few steps back in surprise before Emili regain control again.

"Is Slaanesh's realm under invasion from the other gods?" Last I've heard, Nurgle apparently blamed Slaanesh the most for the Pancea STC and was preparing a full invasion of the 6 circles of Slaanesh but this was too soon even for that.

"No, and I don't think any daemon is going to want to come into that realm for the next few cycles given what's going on!"

"Ok, Emili, take a deep breath and explain, dear." Words I never thought I'd say (though that had been the case ever since I landed on Slawkenberg). I patted Emili's (or rather Krystabel's) back, to comfort the Daemon Princess is she took a deep breath.

"One of Slaaneshi's most powerful Daemon Princess is so ancient that she has existed tens of thousands of years before the Eldar's fall." As contradictory as that sounded, I was well aware that time meant nothing in the warp so this was possible. "She had achieved apotheosis due to everyone obsessing over a song she wrote that would be obsessed over by an entire world."

"And...is this song bad?" I asked, not unreasonably.

"No, in fact, the first few times I heard it, I was going to sing it to you...but the song...never...ends! Every time it reaches its conclusion it starts right back at the beginning! And it plays everywhere! Every room in the palace and every circle of seduction has it playing on repeat! We're even gaining ground on the other realms as everyone runs away to escape the song!" She throws her hands in Krystabel's hair. "Even Slaanesh will only permit this power to be used for a few cycles a year, keeping the Daemon Princess trapped in a block of ice for the rest of the year. But she's defrosted and I can't take it anymore! Half the reason why I called you is so I could take strength from your words and image before I am force to endure it again! It's petty, but just being in your presence keeps me sane." These were touching, I have to admit, though I was curious about this song.

Suddenly, Emili paled. "Oh no, I feel the Warp calling me back!" Emily looks me with desperation. "Know that I will always love you, pray for my sanity!" Another thing I never expected to hear from a daemon princess. As I felt her presence leave us, for a brief moment, I heard the song and saw the Daemon Princess that so frightened Emili. Despite having the standard (inasmuch a word could ever be used) skin tone of a Slaaneshi, the Deamon Princess wore a red dress topped with a red nightcap with a white ball at the end. And the melody...despite only hearing just a verse, I could tell it would be in my head for many, many cycles to come:

~All I want for Slaaneshmas...is youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu~
