Summary: A single human couldn't be this special, right? At first, he looked like every other human, but it occurred to a few people that Naruto Uzumaki was everything but normal. He would be a pillar of hope for those who seek a new home and strength. With time, he would create something special, something never seen before. Ice dimension of Kaguya
'F-finally done.' Naruto thought to himself as he looked at his body. He was lying on a sheet of ice covered with snow. The lower half of his body was no longer there, and the blood was flowing out of his torso in large quantities. The snow, usually white, turned red, which seemed like an inferno due to the sun's rays. Naruto coughed and spat out blood.
The final act was over, and he could finally defeat Kaguya with Sasuke, Kakashi, and Sakura. However, this was not possible without making sacrifices. He had placed himself in front of the final attack of Kaguya, thus preventing his sensei from sacrificing himself. He hoped that his friends would be able to forgive him at some point. He just wanted to be selfish for once, do what he thought was right, and not put other desires above all else. Only once did he want to do something of his own volition and not because he had to keep a promise or something like that.
They were still in another dimension when he intercepted the attack from Kaguya. He was hurled through a portal into this ice world, and as he came through the portal through the blast wave of the attack, his body was split into two halves. He was glad that he could separate Kurama from him in time. He still saw Kaguya being sealed and all the Tailed Beasts appearing. He also saw them all disappear before he was thrown through the portal. He had no regrets in his life. He's ready for whatever comes his way. He didn't want anything more. Everything that mattered to him had already arrived. His comrades were safe, the war was over, and most importantly, there was peace. He closed his eyes and breathed his last breath, and when his life finally faded from his eyes, he smiled.
Tokyo shopping mall
Naruto walked through the mall and hummed to himself. He stopped before a restaurant and thought, 'I should eat something before I end my shopping trip for this week.' He nodded to himself, walked into the restaurant, and sat in the back corner. Naruto was now 18 years old, attending the Hijirigasaka Academy. The Hijigazaka Academy was a private school located in Tokyo, Japan. Naruto wore Hijigazaka Academy's Male School. Hijigazaka Academy's Male School uniform consisted of a black blazer, dress shirt, trousers, and shoes.
The school was over 30 minutes away, and before he would walk home to his apartment, he wanted to buy groceries and other things. The last two years were peaceful for Naruto Uzumaki, the retired Shinobi. Once the properly most powerful Shinobi in the elemental nations, he was now a high school student in another world, where he had woken up two years ago.
Naruto sadly lost the very essence of his former abilities, his chakra. When he woke up in this new world, he couldn't feel any chakra inside him. But this wasn't so bad after all since he would only attract the new forces of this world he now lived in. It took him some time to discover everything, but even without chakra, he was still the strongest Shinobi in his past life. He also had a spymaster as his teacher, so getting information wasn't too difficult. He found out about the supernatural forces in this new world he now lived in pretty quickly when he first saw a fallen angel spreading her black feathered wings.
Of course, he was stronger than an average human, even without chakra. His body condition was nowhere near normal after all the years of training. There would also be the fact that he basically was the reincarnation of a demi-god. His body was stronger, more durable, and had more stamina just from this fact alone. Of course, nothing compared to his old world, where he could destroy giant buildings with a single fist punch, but it was good enough in this world.
"Sorry for the wait, Naruto," said a beautiful waitress. Naruto chuckled and shook his head, looking at Mayumi. Mayumi was a very gentle and friendly young woman. She was two years older than Naruto but always served him when he was here. He was one of the regular customers in Ichirakus, the best ramen restaurant in Tokyo.
He couldn't believe it when he found this shop in this new world. It was truly a miracle that he got the chance to enjoy the food of the heavens, even in his new life. He thanked the omnipotent being who had given him the chance to live this peaceful life more than once. He was sure that someone who had the power to do something like this brought Naruto into this new world.
With devils, fallen angels, angels, and other supernatural beings around, there were for sure a few beings under them who could do something like that.
"Don't worry, Mayumi. I just came here and didn't even wait one minute," said Naruto with a smile. Mayumi smiled back and asked, "What do you want today?"
Naruto became a regular customer last year after he visited once on a fateful day. Naruto was hooked after he tasted the food of the gods in his words. It was clear to everyone watching him eat Ramen that he was a lover of Ramen or more like a worshipper.
"I would take a pork ramen with some extra pork in it," said Naruto with a smile.
Mayumi nodded happily and said, "Alright. It will be done in a second."
Naruto looked after Mayumi and chuckled a bit. Even after everything he had to go through in his past, he was happy being here. Everything he had to go through was worth it. He pulled a black book from the inside of his blazer and laid it before him. He opened it and opened the page where he was the last time. It was a story about a thief who betrayed the guild to save it in the background.
Naruto read the book while he waited for the food of the gods. As usual, it was a beautiful day in Tokyo, and he already looked forward to the new anime episode he liked to watch. He bet the next fight between the protagonist and his current villain would be awesome.
Twenty minutes later, Naruto was walking out of the restaurant. He walked along the shops and searched for a special shop where he could get all the groceries he always bought at the beginning of the week.
'Let's see… ah, here it is,' thought Naruto, happy. He walked into the shop and only needed 10 minutes since he knew where everything was before he emerged from the shop. He looked into the bag to see if he had everything, and when he was sure of it, he nodded.
A few minutes later, Naruto walked through Tokyo toward the apartment complex. He could afford a giant mansion, but this would only get attention from others, and he liked his little cozy apartment. He had a bedroom, a bathroom, a bigger living area, a kitchen, and a guest room. He didn't need anything more. Naruto thought about going fishing when he was back. It was one of his hobbies he found for himself after he began living in Tokyo.
Fishing was always enjoyable, calming, and peaceful. A little outside of Tokyo was a little stream he liked to go to. There was rarely someone there, and he had his peace. 'But before I can go fishing, I need to end the work from school for today,' thought Naruto.
He pulled his phone out of his pocket and tipped on his screen several times. He pressed the phone button and held the phone to his ear. He didn't need to wait long before he heard a male voice on the other end of the line.
"Yo, it's me," said Naruto to one of his friends he made in school. "How are you doing?"
After some talking with each other, Naruto said, "Thanks, buddy! You are a lifesaver." He said goodbye to his friend he made in school and hung up.
Naruto stopped and looked to both sides of the street. He needed to cross the street because his apartment complex was on the other side. His apartment complex was more on the outskirts of Tokyo but not completely outside. It was still central enough so he could reach everything with his legs.
He waited until two cars passed him, and he could safely cross the street and enter the building. An hour later, he was finished with everything he had in mind before he took his fishing rod and left his apartment again.
A few people knew him and weren't surprised when they saw him carrying some fishing equipment. They greeted him, and he greeted them back with a smile. Naruto was also known in the neighborhood for always helping those in need. He mostly helped his older neighbors with heavy things or other things.
Naruto had made it his mission to help as many people as possible. It was just in his nature. What could he say? He was Naruto Uzumaki, after all!
He chuckled to himself, thinking about some things he remembered his Sensei told him about Obito. Kakashi initially never came too late when he was still a Genin. He first took on this habit because he couldn't or didn't want to accept the death of his best friend – Obito Uchiha.
Obito always came too late because he couldn't say no to old people who asked for his help. Kakashi took up this habit to keep at least something from Obito alive. Even when everyone scolded him for it, he always came late to whatever he was supposed to appear to.
Naruto smiled gently, thinking back to all the friends he had made in his past life. He wouldn't change his past life for anything. Even when he would have the chance to go back into the past and save his parents, he wouldn't do it. He just wasn't selfish enough to do something like that. If he had saved his parents and changed the past, everything would have been different.
All the things he experienced wouldn't have happened, and he wouldn't be the man he was today. The past defines the current you. If just a tiny change were made, you wouldn't be the same anymore. You would also destroy the lives of all the other humans in the world, not just your own. They also went through different struggles to become the people they were in the end.
Naruto shook his head and took out his phone from his pocket, looking at the message he got. 'Hmm… I guess I can do this,' thought Naruto. It wasn't something special. A good friend just messaged him to ask if Naruto could give him a fish if he caught more than one today. The good friend knew of Naruto's hobby, and eating fresh fish out of a stream of water instead of preparing fish from the shop was different. The fish Naruto caught were natural and tasted way better than the fish someone could buy in the grocery store.
He messaged his good friend back and put his phone back into his pocket before he continued on his way to the stream of water, where he fished every now and then. He hoped a big one would bite today.
Hijigazaka Academy, Naruto's classroom
Naruto opened his eyes slowly. He saw the surface of his table in the classroom. He furrowed his eyebrows in concentration. He tried to remember why he was looking at the top of the table in his classroom. He raised his head and looked around the classroom. To his surprise, he was the only one left. He looked to his side, out the window, and saw the setting sun.
'Well damn, I have slept through the last few classes and even past the ending… just my day,' thought Naruto. He yawned once and raised his muscular arms. He stretched and sighed when he felt a crack in his lower back. He lowered his arms and stood up, taking his school bag.
'I should get home to finish my training for the day,' thought Naruto. He walked out, humming a soft tone. When he entered the corridor, he stopped. He remained silent and moved not a single muscle in his entire body. He closed his eyes and concentrated.
He remained like this for a few seconds before opening his eyes. 'It seems like I am not the last one in the school,' thought Naruto. 'Ms. Hasegawa is still here too, and someone unknown I never felt before.'
He shrugged his shoulders and began to walk through the corridors of the Hijirigasaka Academy, a private school in Tokyo, Japan. Naruto's ocean-blue eyes were focused on the corridor before him, and his golden-blond, spiky hair moved slightly with every step. He came to a staircase that led down to the lower corridors so Naruto could leave the school to get home.
When he reached the last steps, a classmate of his came running toward him. Naruto stopped and looked confused at Yūto Kiba, the most popular male in the school. Many girls were after him because of his good looks and his behavior. He was called the Prince of Hijigazaka.
Yūto is a handsome young man with short blond hair, blue eyes, and a mole underneath his left eye. He wore Hijigazaka Academy's Male School uniform, which consisted of a black blazer, dress shirt, pants, and shoes.
"Oh, hi, Uzumaki. I didn't know you were still here," said Yūto.
"This wouldn't be the case if I didn't sleep through the last classes and woke up only 5 minutes ago," said Naruto with a chuckle.
Yūto chuckled a little and nodded in understanding. He could remember that Naruto slept at the end of the school day. He didn't think Naruto would sleep until now. It was almost 6 p.m., and the sun was just about to set and vanish on the horizon.
"Anyway, what's up? Why in such a hurry?" asked Naruto.
"I forgot something in the clubroom for tomorrow's club activity outside of school," said Yūto.
"Ah, I see. Do you guys visit a place again where it is said to be hunted with supernatural stuff?" asked Naruto.
Yūto was in the Occultisms Club with a few other very popular students. Naruto knew, of course, that he wasn't human at all. In fact, no one of the Occultisms Club was a human. All members of the club were devils.
"Yeah. We found another place where it is said to be hunted," said Yūto. Naruto knew that the devils in the Occultisms Club used the club only as cover. They were hunting demons in the night while they were away from the school or sometimes even over the day. All thanks to the club and the privileges they got.
"Alright, I don't want to take up more of your time. We'll see each other tomorrow at school again," said Naruto, smiling. Thanks to the devils, Tokyo has remained peaceful so far. Naruto was more than thankful to the group of devils who made Tokyo their home or base of operation and protected the giant city. This way, Naruto could live his life as a normal human without getting dragged into supernatural stuff.
"Thanks. We see each other tomorrow," said Yūto with a polite smile.
Naruto stepped aside, and Yūto walked up the stairs toward his destination. Naruto smiled and walked out of the school building and over the school grounds before turning the corner at the gate to walk on the sidewalk of the street.
Naruto smiled, looking forward to the next few days. It was something he would never have thought of in his old life. This world, this new life he had, was something he was grateful for. He even liked going to school since, this time, it was a normal school experience where he got a few friends, was annoyed sometimes because of his teachers, and even gossiped with others about someone when something was making the rounds. It was a simple but fulfilling life.
A few hours later, Naruto ran through the park from Tokyo to end his training for the day. The sun was about to set, and he only needed to run ten more kilometers for the day. He stopped by a bench to sit down for a second. He took the sports drink he took with him to drink something. His throat was dry, and he wanted some form of liquid to flow down his throat. Naruto raised the sports drink toward his lips and sipped on it. He felt the liquid flowing down his throat. When he took the sports drink from his lips, he sighed, satisfied.
He looked toward the setting sun and smiled. It was a liberating feeling to look a little bit at the setting sun. No one knew why, but the setting sun or the sunrise always triggered certain feelings in living beings. It was always special, no matter how often Naruto looked at the sunrise or sunset.
Naruto stood up and continued his running. He already thought about what he should read after he came home and showered. Back in the elemental nations, it was almost impossible for Naruto to enjoy a good book, but in this world, it was a little different. He liked to read books of different genres.
Naruto would most likely continue to read the book about the thief since he was most advanced in this book. It was an hour later when he finished his run for the day. He was on the outskirts of Tokyo and pretty close to his apartment.
Naruto wanted to walk the last bit of distance but stopped when, out of nowhere, an explosion occurred in the building he was walking past. He jumped away to a safe distance and crossed his arms for his face to shield it. The glass of the surrounding buildings was shattering when the blast wave of the explosion hit the windows. Naruto looked at the fire which came out of the building and frowned.
He didn't understand how such an explosion could happen out of nowhere until someone flew out of the building and crashed into the ground with heavy injuries. Naruto also noticed that every human on the street was gone. Someone walked out of the raging fire without any harm and looked at the person who lay on the street with heavy injuries.
Naruto guessed a fight broke out between those two, and during their fight, they triggered the explosion inside the building. He could also imagine that they didn't start the fight inside the building. He had seen that a part of the wall of the south side of the building was missing.
Naruto had instantly searched for cover behind some cars standing on the side of the streets. He only hoped he wouldn't be noticed. He was hiding behind the cars right now and had his eyes closed, trying to feel their energies. This way, he could tell where both opponents were and if they were coming closer.
"You are pretty fast for a low-class devil," said a male voice. "Were you turned into a devil with a Knight piece?" asked the person while he placed a sliver spear on the ground.
Yūto struggled a bit but could stand up with effort. He held two demonic swords. One was a katana, and the other was a broadsword. "Why are you in Tokyo? It is known that Tokyo is the territory of the Gremory Clan. We have a peace treaty with the hero clan. Why are you attacking us?" asked Yūto.
Naruto narrowed his eyes when he heard what was going on there. 'The Hero clan? Why is the hero clan attacking the devils in Tokyo? They never did anything that hurt people. I would even say they were better than some humans I met since I began living in Tokyo,' thought Naruto.
"You don't need to know that, little devil. Just know that you devils will soon be decimated," said the hero. The hero had dark blond hair and blue eyes. He wore armor on his arms and legs, holding his long silver spear in his right hand. He also wore a blue shirt and cloak to finish up his outfit. It was the typical hero clan outfit.
Naruto almost jumped up when, out of nowhere, another one of those things appeared before him. He still didn't know what that was, but it was not something normal even in this world.
[Defend Yūto Kiba and uncover what the Hero Clan wants in Tokyo.
Reward: Sword of Enlightenment
Penalty for failing this Quest: N/A
Do you accept?
Y/N]
Naruto saw this message and chuckled when he saw another blue chat box that appeared the first time two years ago. This "System" as he called it, always popped up in the most random moments. Sometimes, he had quests like this, such as where he needed to help people or where he needed to go to a specific place.
He still didn't figure out what this System was that kept sending him these Quests, as the System called it. Most of the time, the Quests didn't even have any reward or penalty. What he got as a quest was very random.
But he could say one thing about the quests that really were important at the moment: He was about to do these things anyway. Even if this new Quest didn't show up right now, he would have helped Yūto anyway because Yūto was a good friend of Naruto.
It was thanks to this Rewards of the Quests that he wasn't just a normal human, even when his body wasn't normal from the start. The first Reward he got was a so-called "Energy Path System", where theoretically, any energy source could stream through. Basically, it was a chakra network, but instead of chakra for any source of energy that existed in this world. He could theoretically gain chakra again, but he could also gain demonic energy or even holy energy that was originally only wielded by devils, angels, fallen angels, and some humans who were associated with the church.
The second major reward he got was the energy source that was now flowing through his body, or more specifically, through the "Energy path System" he got before. The energy source wasn't like demonic energy or holy energy. The energy source he got was something more neutral and wasn't strong or weak against any other energy source. The energy source was called Mana. As far as Naruto could tell so far, only a few humans were wielding this energy source. It was one of the purest forms of energy that existed. There were no corrupted elements in Mana. Mana itself was like a newlyborn baby. At first, it had only basic usage, like enhancing the body with Mana, which was similar to chakra. But some could evolve their mana into something more.
Some humans have managed to acquire a certain type of new ability, like the manipulation of an element or the manipulation of gravity. The possibilities were endless when it came to Mana. But once it evolved, it couldn't be undone. Mana would never return back to its "base form," as some call it. The user was stuck with the evolved mana they were now having.
Naruto heard that a certain family in Japan was well known for their progress in swordsmanship, and all of the family members were Mana users. Some managed to evolve their mana, while others didn't succeed.
But all of this wasn't so important right now. Naruto would need to help Yūto and quickly. He heard how Yūto got attacked again by the hero with his dangerous spear. Naruto stood up and jumped over the car. He raced toward Yūto and the hero, using mana to enhance his speed during his sprint.
Yūto was currently on his knees, his weapons shattered beside him. He could create many different demonic swords with his Sacred Gear, but they weren't invincible like a real Sacred Gear in the form of a weapon.
The hero was standing before him with his spear held in a ready position to thrust him forth through the body of Yūto. Yūto was pretty fast for a low-class devil because of the Knight piece he was turned into a devil with. But the hero was still stronger, faster, had better experience, and other aspects of combat were superior to Yūto.
"Say hello to Satan for me when you meet him on the other side," said the hero, thrusting his spear forward. Yūto closed his eyes and expected to feel a piercing pain. He waited, waited, and waited. But the pain never came. He slowly opened his eyes and was allowed to see the tip of the spear just an inch away from his eyes. The hero would have never stopped his attack so willingly. He tilted his head slightly sideways and got wide eyes when he saw a hand on the spear holding him in place.
"I think this is enough, don't you think?" asked Naruto, holding the spear with his right hand in place. He could feel how the hero tried to push the spear the last inch to pierce Yūto's head, but Naruto's arm didn't move under the pressure he was put under. The spear was held in place without moving even a little bit.
"Who are you?" asked the hero, holding his spear still with both hands. He couldn't believe Naruto stopped his spear with just one arm. Sure, the hero didn't put everything into the thrust attack since the devil had accepted his fate.
"Shouldn't the one who asks introduce himself first?" asked Naruto, putting more pressure on the spear. The hero struggled and was slowly feeling how he was pushed back. The spear slowly but surely began to move away from Yūto's face.
Naruto enhanced his arm a bit more with mana and threw the hero with his spear away. The hero landed safely on his feet, sliding a little over the ground before he stopped. He frowned, looking at the newcomer. He could feel a large amount of mana in the human before him. He didn't even know how the human before him managed to hide with this much mana in his body.
"Fine," said the hero, standing up straight. "My name is Takashi Hayase. I am a member of the hero faction who wants to see the human race being on top again."
'So he isn't from the hero clan, but from the hero faction. That makes it easier to understand why this guy attacked Yūto,' thought Naruto. He looked into Takashi's blue eyes and said, "My name is Naruto Uzumaki."
The hero faction was a separate organization besides the hero clan, which got the powers of a special clan of gods thousands of years ago. The hero faction was an organization that was entirely out of humans with either sacred gears or special powers like Takashi, who was formerly a part of the hero clan.
"Naruto Uzumaki… why are you defending this devil? You should be aware that devils have used us humans in the past over and over again. They don't care about our well-being and use us without any form of hesitation. With your powers, you should instead fight the supernatural races and not defend them," said Takashi.
"I would even like to invite you into the hero faction. We can always use new members. You, with your large mana reserves and strength, are more than welcome to join us in our mission to bring the human race to the top again," said Takashi.
Naruto chuckled at this absurd invitation. He looked over his shoulder and said, "Can you stand?"
Yūto could only nod and struggled a little but managed to get on both legs. He stood now a little behind Naruto, looking at the member of the hero faction. "Thanks, Naruto," said Yūto. He would later ask Naruto everything he wanted to ask, but right now, he would do himself a favor and remain in the background. He wasn't in a position to interfere between Naruto and Takashi. He would only be in the way.
Naruto smiled at Yūto before he looked forth again into the blue eyes of Takashi. "Sorry, but I have to decline. I don't have anything against devils or other supernatural races in general. And Yūto is a good friend of mine, so why should I attack him?" said Naruto.
"I see," said Takashi. "That's too bad. I would have liked to welcome you into our group, but now I don't have a choice but to kill you." Naruto could feel an energy source begin to rise in Takashi's body.
A green aura began to appear around him, and Naruto could feel the pressure in the air. He was now showing off his true power instead of before, where he wasn't using everything he had.
Naruto began to grin and focused his mana in response. Takashi began to smile, unsure of what he should think of this. 'What a ridiculous amount of mana,' thought Takashi. Naruto was shrouded in an aura of blue mana that spread around him. The Mana didn't only cling to his body but also was 3 meters from Naruto's body, clearly visible.
Yūto got a sweat on his forehead, taking a few steps back to make some distance between himself and Naruto. The pressure he felt from Naruto was immense. It nearly cut off his air supply. He even had trouble breathing under the pressure of Naruto's presence right now.
Naruto had a ridiculous amount of Mana. More than he had ever heard of. He was just glad Naruto was his ally and didn't become an enemy. If Naruto had decided at one point in the past to attack Yūto and his club members, they would all be dead by now. They wouldn't stand a chance against Naruto.
"So… shall we dance?" asked Naruto, rephrasing one of Madara's well-known statements he used before a fight.
