Author's Note : This is post 2 of 3, in a series about the theory that Cain is related to Inquisitor Clousseau in this universe. This post is more of a creative writing exercise where I took a more entertaining way to explain the reasoning behind why this theory could work. If you just want the reasoning skip to post 3, which is a more coherent and less story-like telling of the theory.
Deep in the bowels of Holy Terra, a man if you could call him that was stumbling around his dark room.
"Yes, Yes, it's all coming together" muttered the hunched-back neurotic old man shakily smearing the last letter on his wall with his own blood. Stepping back to admire his work, he smiled triumphantly. After decades of work and the brain-splitting headaches from having received so many visions. He could finally begin to piece everything together.
"Now let's see if all this makes sense," he said quietly before making his way toward one of the bloody patches on the wall. This section contained two things, the words Rosea Panther and a crudely drawn image of a ship.
"It all starts with this" as he tapped the image twice. "The Rosea Panther is what links Ciaphas Cain to Inquisitor Clousseau. Before slowly following a string-like object away the image to another blotch of blood. This one contains a phrase from one of his visions.
"The Rosea Panther disappeared many years ago and yet it could still be the ship that transported Cain to the Schola and the ship that he was born on". Before slowly following back the string to the poorly drawn image of the Rosea Panther and continuing on to another vision drawn in blood.
"Children raised in the schola usually spend 12 years there and the time shown in my first vision shows that it takes place at least 2 years after Cain graduated. 14 years, which could be considered many years, meaning the Rosea Panther was the ship that brought Cain to the Schola if it disappeared right after dropping Cain off" He babbled as he tapped his index finger against his chin.
"But why did Tannenburg not know about the Rosea Panther?" he questioned hesitantly, turning back to his scribbled-out vision. "Tannenburg, only got the information from an Interrogator, who may not have known the importance of the ship's name. The interrogator after all must be younger than Tannenburg. Unless it's something else." He began confidently before stopping as he had an epiphany before he began to stumble to another blank spot on his wall. Cutting his finger until it began to bleed, he once again began to write.
"Inquisitors have absolute power, it would be a simple task for them to change the ship's name in the report. In fact, why stop there, all the information that the Schola knows about Cain could be wrong, if that is actually his given name." the old man said cheerfully, before taking a piece of decrepit string and linking this latest message back to the rest of the board. Before slowly moving to another poorly drawn image of two silhouettes with the words Cain's parent above.
"If the Inquisitor used his power to hide Cain's background and his ship's name it is obvious that he would then use it to hide Cain's parents. " he began mumbling again. "There were rumours that Schola only accepts children of nobles, officers, or those who did heroic action. So while it is possible that Cain's parents were truly heroic guardsmen it was much more likely that they were Inquisitorial Acolytes". He stumbled back after connecting this piece of evidence with his latest revelation, moving to the centre of the room to admire his work.
Bang the door to the room slammed open. A looming shadow spread across the hunchback. The old man tried to get a glimpse of the intruder, but he couldn't make out anything as the figure in his doorway was illuminated by a surprisingly bright light from the hallway.
"Wh Who, what are you" began the man fearfully, raising his hand to block the light from his eyes.
Thump.
