Chapter 8: "Robo Rojo"
In Space, Again
Vilgax floats in space a good distance from the Earth before it sends out to drones to the planet.
"The drones have launched", one of the humanoid underlings tells his master, Vilgax, "Equipped with the improved internal tracking system, they should be able to find and retrieve the Omnitrix".
"They may find it", Vilgax wheezes from his sealed rejuvenation chamber, "But retrieving it will not be easy. Whoever possesses the Omnitrix continues to be an opponent of extreme danger and inspiring brilliance".
On Earth Once More
Jason is walking down one of the aisles of a gas station when his stomach growls.
"Man, am I starved", Jason remarks, "Avoiding Max's food is not an easy task", he sees something to snack and grabs it before heading out with Gwen to Max, who is gassing up the RV.
Max sees and hand drawn 'WASH ME!' on the dirtied windows, "Huh, nice art work, Jason", he says to the teen as cleaned the window, "Though, you could have just cleaned it yourself".
"It's your RV, and I did it last time", Jason retorts as he snacks.
Suddenly, a red armored van is blasted into from the back by a powerful laser.
"What the..,?!", Gwen cries out.
They look over to see a biker gang of three with white sashes on their warms with red outlines and a red penned skull on it. They had on unique looking helmets and were wielding advanced weaponry.
The one who fired the shot stays back as the other two run forward to grab the cash.
They had on brown pants with black biker boots that had a metal grey tip. A black belt around their waist that went down the right leg and wrapped around the thigh to hold the high-tech cannon. They wore a grey sleeveless shirt with a spiked leather jacket and red gloves. Their helmet was all black save the green drawn-on eyes above the visor and the jagged mouth on the bottom half of said visor. (OS first appearance)
Noticing the gaze of Jason and the Tennysons, they look to them, "What are you looking at?", she asks, revealing that she's female.
She aims the weapon at them.
"Jason, Gwen, get back!", Max yells as he pushes them behind the Rustbucket, it's left side from the biker chick.
The woman fires the weapon at him and he ducks away, letting it hit one of the gas station pillars
Jason sees the damage and Max laying on the ground in pain.
"Got to get Max outta there", and he dials up the Omnitrix before slapping it down and transforms in a flash.
The two other, more uniformed, bikers run up to the one who shot at Max with the bags of cash before they hear a boom and look down the street to see Four Arms.
"Yaah!", Four Arms yells out as he double fist hammer smashes the ground, sending a directional tremor at the three bikers, sending them flying into the air before crashing back down onto the road.
Four Arms looks back to Gwen helping up Max, "Go!", he tells them and they run to the Rustbucket.
He looks back to the bikers and then looks to the armored truck where he sees the driver in his bullet-proof vest stumble away from it.
"You okay?", Four Arms asks the man, only for him to scream and run away at the sight of him, "I'll take that as a yes", before he hears what sounds like the ocking of a gun but for advanced ones, before he is then blasted by the bikers into another gas station pillar.
She fires again and it hits the gas station's pump next to Four Arms at it explodes over him.
"Jason!", Max cries out.
The bikers look to the inferno before Four Arms jumps out of the smoke above and comes crashing down at them, smashing the ground at their feet and sending them flying back, cracking the glass of the visor on the girl's helmet.
The other two hit into the armored truck and Four Arms catches them by their necks before they could hit the ground. He holds them up with his lower arms and then takes off their helmets with the upper arms, showing that they were girls as well. The left one had pale skin and short black hair with a red line going over her eyes. The one on the right had tanned skin and blue hair in twin buns with an ear piercing on her left ear.
"Huh, so this is an all women biker gang? Haven't seen that before", Four Arms remarks before being blasted in the back by the one he didn't grab that shot at Max.
She had taken off her damaged helmet to reveal her pale skin and spiked red hair, almost maroon in color. She also had piercings in her ears but while her left one had a small metal lope on her lobe, her right one had one in her lobe and two more in her scaha near the helix (I literally had to search this stuff up).
"Yeah, and?", the one who shot him says.
"Clobber her!", Gwen calls out to him.
She aims at his face as Four Arms is on his hands and knees from the blast while the other iker girls join her at her side.
But then they hear a swooping sound in the ari before the drones of Vilgax appear above them and open fire at Four Arms. The biker girls jump to the left of the red laser beams and Four Arms jump to their right, leaving the armor truck to be destroyed by them and the money falling from the sky.
The lead biker chick stands up to see the money rain and angry grabs it, "Hey, this is my heist".
"You an have it!", one of the other biker chicks yells out as they both runaway, not wanting to deal with both aliens and robots.
The remaining biker growls as she carries her weapon to attack the drones and Four Arms.
Max sees this and grabs a nearby rubber of the tire from the destroyed truck
Four Arms was defending himself from the blasts of the drones so he didn't notice her approaching before Max throws the tire into her back before she can fire, knocking her to the ground face first.
"Jason, those drones must be after the watch", Max calls out to Four Arms.
The biker chick gets up real quick and aims the laser cannon at him, "You'll get yours, old man", before firing at him.
Max ducks down from the blast but she aims it upwards and it cuts into the roof of the gas pumps and it falls on Max.
"Grandpa!", Gwen cries out.
"No!", Four Arms yells in worry for Max before a laser from the drones fires before him, drawing his ire.
He angrily looks tot he drones before catching them in his four hands, "Now's not the time!", and he smashes them into each other like they're cymbals before throwing them at the biker chick in a rage, knocking her down.
Four Arms takes the time to rush over to the knocked out Max and get the debri off him.
"We need to get him to a hospital", Gwen says in a panic before she goes to dial on her phone, "I'm calling 91-", only for Four Arms to pick her up along with Max, "Jason?!".
"No time. Hospital's up the street", and he super jumps on over, his hold not disturbing Max during te jumping.
The biker chick gets up from the knockout, rubbing her head from the attack.
She looks to where Four Arms jumped off to and then to the drones, "Who were you freaks?" before grabbing one of the smashed drones to inspect.
She stands up with the head of it in hand before she hears sirens in the distant. the head's eyes glowed before it attached a wire to her neck.
"Ugh!", she cries out as it infects her, digital grids come from the drone onto her skin.
She soon become red in color with cybernetic muscles and her clothes began to tear to become shorts and sleeveless, losing her gloves and boots in the process. Three spikes like Batman's gauntlets appear on her arms as her fingers become grey claws. Her shoulders have red orbs on them. Her eyes became the same red buggy look of the drones, with two small ones appearing on her forehead and two larger ones appearing on her cheeks.
Two cop cars arrive on the scene with the cops getting out of the driver seats and aiming their guns at her form behind their doors, "Freeze!", only to be taken aback when she looks at them.
"Ha! I already did my time", she says before the orbs extend out from her shoulders on metal arms and aims at the cops, "It's time you guys paid", and the orbs fired lasers at the cars as the cops ran, the cars then explode in fiery fashion.
She then goes and grabs a bag of money that as still there, "Ha ha ha! this is gonna be a blast!"
At the Town Hospital
"Your grandfather has suffered a severe concussion", the doctor informs the teens, "He'll be out for several more hours. He also has several lacerations and a broken leg".
"He's gonna be okay though, right?", Jason asks.
The doctor smiles, "For a man his age, he's remarkably strong. He'll be fine after some rest", he lifts his chart, "Now it says on his admittance form he was hit by a car bumper. Did someone back into him?"
"Yeah, but they just sped off before we could investigate though", Jason says before looking over to the unconscious Max in the hospital bed, his head wrapped in bandages and his right leg in a cast and elevated.
In Space Once Again
"The drones were destroyed", an underling informs Vilgax.
Vilgax hisses in anger, "Send out more".
"We may not need to", the underling tells him before looking to his tablet, "It seems the drones have somehow merged. I'm receiving one combined signal, and that signal is on the move".
"Hmm. Perhaps one head is better than two", Vilgax contemplates
Back on Earth, in a Jewelry Store
"Ah, look out!", a guy yells as some people run outside while laser fire was going off inside.
The cyber-biker known as Rojo walks around the store with a smile as she fires lasers at the glass cases and grabs a handful of rings from one, but her new cybernetic enhanced grip accidentally crushed them to powder.
"What?!", she cries out, "No! They're worthless now!", throwing the destroyed goods away.
She looks to the female left inside the store, maybe the jeweler, and goes to approach only for her to get a massive headache.
"Ugh!", se cries out, grabbing her head in pain and falls to her knees, allowing the jeweler to run for it.
{"Listen to me, whoever you are"}, Vilgax says in her head via the cybernetics
"Where are you?", she groans out, "Who are you, and how did you get in my head?", she gets to her feet once more, looking around the store for him.
{"No questions!"}, Vilgax commands her, {"You are here to serve me"}
"Guess again", she denies him, "I work for me and only me", only to receive more pain and fall to her knees again.
{"Upi now possess powr you could have never imagined"}, Vilgax tells her as she experiences a cyber-mental world with yellow, green, and red in all directions, {"but unless you find a way to use it, it will be worthless"}, his face appears as a massive projection before her here as she floats there in horror, {"Fulfill my command, and I will teach you. Fail me, and I will turn you to dust!"}
"So what do you want?", she asks him.
{"Only one thing, a piece of valuable technology missing from my possession, and lucily, you are already programmed to find it"}, Vilgax tells her before she comes to her sense in the jewelry store.
Back at the Hospital
Jason was worriedly looking at Max from his seat beside him.
"Jason, you heard the doctor, he's going to be fine", Gwen comforts from her own seat next to him, "He's Grandpa Max".
"It just he first time I seen the man injured and I'm worried about him", Jason tells her.
Gwen smiles, "I'd be more worried about how Four Arms got his butt kicked by a random girl".
Jason rounds on her, "I was taken by surprise", he tells her, "And I still won the fight", he then sighs and leaves the room out to the hall, streamed with windows on the opposite side.
"You okay?", Gwen asks as she followed him out.
"Just.. wondering if any of the aliens could help him recover", Jason tells her as he thinks to himself.
"I don't think any of your aliens can fix his condition right now", Gwen remarks at the thought as he activates the Omnitrix.
Elsewhere
Rojo fells the activation of the Omnitrix as she flies in the air and she looks down to the hospital over the river. She scans the area, her vision enhances and zooms in on Ben and Gwen in the windows before focusing on the Omnitrix.
"There you are", she says.
Later, Back at the Hospital
Jason looks into Mac's room again as Gwen sat on a bench by the door in the hall.
Jason then begins pacing as Gwen looks to him.
"Just relax", Gwen tells him, "He'll be okay"
Jason just sighs and she is left disappointed before she notices something flying towards them outside the window.
The teen duo duck as Rojo crashes through the windows, glass flying around.
Jason looks to her in confusion as he and Gwen get to their feet again, backing away from the cyber-woman.
"Give me the Omnitrix", Rojo demands from him.
Jason glares at her, "You want it? Come and get it", before he and gwen run down the hall.
Rojo fires a laser from her left orb, missing the two as they round a corner. She runs down the hall to the corner and rounds it, firing a few shots down the hall after them, destroying a medical cart and knocking back a nurse and an orderly as the teens pass through an exit door.
They round another corner and Jason notices something, "Stairs!", he calls out to Gwen and the duo go into the stairwell and run down them.
"Jason, that thing is the girl from the armored robbery", Gwen says as she was able to recognize Rojo from her clothes and hair, "It's like she with those-".
"Drones", Jason finishes as he also recognized the patterns oner her new cyber flesh.
They hear an explosion above them as she comes into the stairwell, with her jumping down the middle to fall to the bottom, landing just as the two teens leave the stairwell on the ground floor.
She fires another beam at them, nearly hitting Gwen as it hits the door frame next to her.
"Ok, radical thought, but right now might be a good time o go hero", Gwen suggest to Jason as they run.
"In a hospital?", Jason retorts as he doesn't want any patients like Max to get injured in the fight.
They soon run out a door into the parking lot with some ambulances parked to their left, which they go behind one as Rojo blasts her way outside after them.
Rojo comes out and walks down the line of ambulances, searching for Jason and the Omnitrix, who was hiding with Gwen on the other side of the Ambulances then where Rojo stood.
"We can do this the easy way or the hard way", Rojo says before her orbs aim up the cliff face nearby and fire two laser shots along the top, causing rocks to fall and roll down to the hospital.
"Time to go Four Arms", Jason says as he activates the Omnitrix and pushes on the profile of said alien and transforms in a flash only for him to become Heatblast.
"Oh, great. Was aiming for muscle and got the alien candle instead", Heatblast remarks at the mis-transformation.
He overviews the situation, "Hmm, with enough heat, fire can melt rock, right? But that would leave us with some magma coming down here instead", he could melt the ambulances instead, forming a wall, but that would leave the hospitals with no ambulances for emergencies.
Heatblast ultimately blasts apart the rock near him to create a long and wide trench before the hospital, causing the rocks to pile up in a stop before then.
"Hospital is safe", Heatblast says aloud to Gwen.
Just then, Rojo drop kicks him in the back, knocking him to the ground as Gwen retreats back. Heatblast releases a stream of heat from him at the cyber girl, sending Rojo flying back to the ground. Rojo recovers and flies over to him, grabbing Heatblast by his collar and throwing him over the nearby canal into a truck with construction workers. She then fires some lasers at him, destroying the truck, as the workers ran away to safety.
Heatblast gets up as the glass of a building burst out and a tanker was knocked over and spilling out, the driver long gone.
He looks up to the flying cyber biker, "You want me? I'm right here, bitch", he calls out to her.
She angrily flies down to him, going for a tackle, only for him to duck her. She stops at the tanker. Heatblast snaps his fingers and a spark falls on a stream of oil and it ignites, leading to the tanker before exploding, sending her flying away sky high.
"See ya!", Heatblast salutes and leaves for the hospital again.
Later, in Max's Room
Max was awake in bed as Jason and Gwen sat in chairs on either side of him, with Jason explaining what happened.
"When I was looking through the Omnitrix, I must have drew her attention here, right to you", Jason finishes.
"Since they moved me to a new room and you haven't went Alien since then, we're safe", Max remarks with a smile.
"For now", Jason grumbles, "It's getting to dangerous for you to be around me with this on", showing the Omnitrix to them.
"Yeah, but since it won't come off, there's nothing we can do about it", Gwen remarks about it.
"Maybe", Jason retorts with a groan.
Elsewhere In Town
Rojo landed in a heated mess on a van in a distant road as a crowd was around, investigating. She stands up, having recovered, and freaking out the civilians at her appearance, causing them to run.
Suddenly, she gets the headaches again as Vilgax contacts her.
{"The Omnitrix. Where is it?}, He demands from her.
"I couldn't get it", Rojo tells him, "And how nice. You didn't tell me I'd be fighting a superhero. I'm through", superheroes is the reason she works her jobs in the middle of bum-fuck nowhere so she doesn't have to deal with the likes of Superman.
Vilgax retaliates against her desire to leave by eating her in the cyber-mental world, {"Get me the Omnitrix, and if you fail again, your meaningless criminal life will be over. Now this time, make him come to you"}.
Later in the Hospital
Max and Gwen were asleep in the room while Jason leaves a note on the bed.
"I'm doing this for you guys", Jason remarks before leaving the room then the hospital.
Later Again
Jason was sitting on a park bench in the park of the town, thinking on what to do moving forward as he watches a kid play football with his grandpa till he hears something on a nearby radio.
"Reports say the armored assailant has incredible firepower and has blown up several police barricades before arriving at the police academy training center just outside of Albuquerque.
Jason stands up, "Not far from here then", and rushes off, suspecting it's the robo-biker again.
Much Later Once More
It was night at the hospital as Gwen wakes up.
"Jason? Jason?", she asks around as she rubs her eyes awake before noticing the note at the foot of the bed.
She goes and grabs it before unfolding it to read, "'Dear Max and Gwen, I care about you both too much to keep putting you in danger. It's better this way. From, Jason'", she finishes.
Max then rouses from his own slumber and sees Gwen standing, "Gwen, what is it?", only to be cut off by the news on the TV.
"The siege at the police training center continues", drawing there attention as Gwen then raises the volume, "Early reports say several officers have been injured".
"Jason's gone", Gwen says as she shows Max the note, "but i think I know where he went", and she goes to leave, "I gotta go, Grandpa".
Max groans as he goes to get up, "I'm coming too".
"You can't go anywhere", Gwen denies, rushing back to the bed to stop him
"You can't go alone. It's too dangerous", Max denies her own actions.
Gwen grabs his bed's remote and lowers his head rest, causing him to lay back.
"Gah", he groans, "I can't get up now".
"That's the point", Gwen retorts as she set the remote away form him before running off.
"Gwen, get back here! Gwen!", Max cries out to her.
Gwen gets outside to see an ambulance at the ready.
"They need s down at the police academy", one of the paramedics tells the other before they both get into the front, with Gwen sneaking into the back to get there and help Jason.
At the Police Academy
Rojo throws a car to the side of the sign before it explodes. She then fires lasers up to the rooftops and slicing off the top of the flag pole along with the emblem of the academy.
Suddenly, a black-green and blue blur speeds pass her twice, hitting her each time. She falls to her hands and knees before the blue then stops before her, revealing it to be XLR8.
His viser lifts for him to speak, "Looks like the party started without me".
Rojo takes the chance to grab his leg, lifts him up and throws him to the ground before then kicking him away into a police car.
XLR8 recovers as Rojo approaches him.
"He wants his Omnitrix. He can have it", Rojo says aloud before her orbs extend out, "This is getting fun!"
"Who's he?", XLR8 asks her before rushing forward and bicycle kicking her at super speed then finishing with a straight kick to her chest, sending her flying back some.
Rojo gets back to her feet as XLR8 stands before her, only for a tank to roll up on them and aims at them both.
XLR8 runs away with his super speed out of the blast zone, allowing the tank to fire a laser from it's main cannon at Rojo, knocking up a cloud of smoke. The tank rolls on through to fire on XLR8 but it's lifted up by Rojo.
"Nice try. But speedy is all mine", Rojo snarks at the tank drivers, causing them to jump out to safety, before she then throws the tank at XLR8.
He speeds away as it crashed and explodes where he was.
He then appears behind her and says, "Don't call me Speedy, I don't need the Arrows of Star City suing me",
She swipes at him but he speeds around her before giving her an uppercut as she turns back around, sending her flying back. Rojo gets to her feet and fires a laser from her left orb at him, but he suepr speeds away.
At this time, the ambulance arrives and the paramedics get out.
"Who need help?", one asks before XLR8 zooms back in Sonic Punches Rojo away.
The paramedics run away from the alien and cyborg while Gwen peeks out to see if Jason was in the area.
"Gwen?", XLR8 says as he notices her and speeds over to the ambulance, taking her out of it and away from the battle to an alley. After double checking for Rojo, he looks to her as his visor retracts, "What are you doing here?"
"It's better this way", she retorts in anger, "Sound familiar?"
XLR8 has the time out sound go off, "So does that beeping!", and he changes back into Jason, "Oh, that is just great", he then hears the sound of Rojo destroying things, "Come on!", he tells gwen and they run for it down the alley as Rojo flies into it after them.
They go around the barracks of the police academy to the obstacle course, dodging laser fire from Rojo as they go through the course. In one of the dust clouds form her firing, they duck under an old target to hide while she runs around in search of them.
Gwen takes the time to talk to Jason, "Jason, you can't just leave us behind".
"Don't tell me what I should do, Gwen, this is my fight, my Omnitrix, not yours", Jason tells her.
"Yeah, but you're...", Gwen goes, only to be cut off by more laser fire. They peak over their cover to see her destroy one of the obstacles.
"In here", Gwen tells Jason as they then run over to an unlocked door and go inside.
It is soon revealed they were now in the gm of the police academy, with all the weights and the treadmills and stuff.
Just then, Gwen gets a call on her cell as they stop behind some equipment.
"Hello", she answers it before holding it to Jason, "It's for you".
Jason takes it and answers, "Hello?", he looks to the door for Rojo, "Max, can we talk later? I got an indestructible robot girl none of my aliens can seem to take out".
{"Jason, If you can't destroy her from the outside, take it from the inside"}, Max suggests, giving Jason an idea.
"That's it!", Jason declares to himself, "Thanks", and hangs up.
"Looks like you're not better off without Grandpa, either", Gwen retorts as she gets her phone back, poking his chest as she smiles at him.
Jason activates the Omnitrix, signalling his location to Rojo as she opens fire on the room, causing the duo to run and duck as Jason tries for the right alien, choosing Upgrade and transforming before she then enters the room.
She looks around the room for him, not noticing him slithering up above her till Upgrade drops on top of her.
The metallic black and green mechamorph coats Rojo from head to toe as she struggles to tear him off to no use as she completely becomes black with the green lines of Upgrade.
Just then, he is taken to the cyber-mental realm
{"Listen to every word"}. Vilgax says to Upgrade, showing himself before the teen alien, {"Be afraid. You cannot run. You cannot hide from me. I will find you... and when I do, I will retrieve my Omnitrix and destroy you!"}
Upgrade then falls off Rojo from the assault, woozy from it. Rojo fires another laser blast but Upgrade easily dodges before merging with one of the workout equipment.
"Time to workout!', Upgrade quips before grabbing her and smashing her head into the weights.
She falls back onto a treadmill as Upgrade enters into that and speeds it up, sending Rojo flying off into the previous equipment, breaking it. He leaves the treadmill as Rojo recovers and fires more lasers at him, which he ducks and dodges out of the way of as he moves through the gym.
Gwen surveys the area as they destroy the room till SWAT enters the room in ful gear.
"Duck!", she warns them, which they do as a laser cuts where they were.
They open fire on Rojo before Upgrade tackles her away
"Now this won't hurt a bit!", he tells her before remerging with her, releasing electric pulses as Gwen and the SWAT quietly watch till Upgrade comes off her, "Okay, I lied".
She stands up to continue the fight, but her flesh becomes normal human flesh once more as the eye lenses fall off to reveal her real eyes
"I'm... normal?", Rojo remarks as she a normal human again.
"Abnormalis more like it", Upgrade snarks, not liking her after what she did to Max.
"Look... I-I don't know what came over me", she tries to explain, "Come on, please. You got to help me", she spots her blaster in the remains of the de-cyberizing, "I'm just a girl", before kicking it up and aiming it at Upgrade.
"Guess what...", she hears off to the side, "so am I", and getting dropped kicked by Gwen and knocking Rojo out.
The ceiling begins to collapse from all the damage it took.
"Gotta go!", Upgrade says, causing Gwen to run outside as Upgrade grabs Rojo and takes her outside as well before the whole gym falls in on itself.
Upgrade hands Rojo to one of the SWAT men, "She's all yours", before leaving with Gwen.
The Next Day
Jason and Gwen were ushering Max out of the Hospital,
"Ah, it's good to get outta here and back on the road", Max remarks before he hobbles over on his crutches Rustbucket, which Jason had driven over to the hospital last night.
Gwen looks to Jason as they made there way to the RV, "So Jason, what happened back there in the gym? It was like you were possessed or something", referring to his failed first attempt on Rojo as Upgrade.
"I don't know", Jason shares, "I saw this alien. We were both in this mental realm and he was talking to me. He looked like his head was that of an octopus, like Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean but more alien like", drawing Max's attention, "He said I should be afraid", he looks to Max and sees his expression, "Max... you look afraid?"
"I'm... fine", Max utters, looking away from him before looking back to him, "And you'll be fine too as long as we stick together".
"Sounds good to me", Jason nods and boards the Rustbucket with Gwen, neither noticing Max's shifty gaze as Vilgax waits for the next bout in his ship.
Chapter End
AN: Been a while, with Ben 10 going off MAX and shit, but I found the whole original series and the sequels on the Cartoon Network app so I'll be back working on this.
I decided to skip over episodes with one time characters or aren't canon in the OS till I get to the movies at least. Reoccuring or first time appearances like Rojo this chapter along with the return of Vilgax again. I'll probably mentioned the skipped episodes, like with, "He's still tired from...", or something.
Rojo won't be part of the harem due to Jason not liking her due to the fact she was the first one to hurt any of them so badly
