Chapter 11

Second Task

Holly stood with Rhys in another chamber. She decided to wear pants with a white tunic with a corset wrapped around the front with her favorite boots. Amaratha sat on the throne with Tamlin standing behind her. Holly had a dagger on her hip and two in her boot. The Attor was smirking at Feyre.

"Well, Feyre, your second trial has come." Amaratha sounded smug. "Have you solved my riddle yet?" Feyre didn't respond. "Too bad. But I'm feeling generous tonight." The Attor chuckled and some faeries laughed. "How about a little practice?" Feyre's eyes flicked to Tamlin, who didn't show any emotion. Holly pressed her lips into a thin line. A hiss comes and Feyre's eyes flick to Amaratha, who was frowning at Tamlin. "Begin!" The floor shuddered as the stones beneath Feyre began sinking, lowering her into a large rectangular pit. Feyre looked around trying to find a door and Holly's eyes widen to see at one of the walls was an iron grate separating two rooms and Lucien was laying chained to the center of the floor of the chamber.

"Rhys." Holly whispered.

"I see." Rhys said. Holly shot a glare towards Eris who was smirking with his two other brothers. Eris wouldn't look at her as gold was passed between faeries.

"Here, Freye darling, you shall find your task. Simply answer the question by selecting the correct lever, and you'll win. Select the wrong one to your doom. As tehre are only three options, I think I gave you an unfair advantage." Amaratha snapped her fingers, and something metallic groaned. "That is if you can solve the puzzle in time." Holly looked up and gasped as the two giant, spike-encrusted gates slowly decenended into the chamber.

"That's cruel." Holly said as Feyre whirled on Lucien.

"These tasks are meant for if she looses, she'll die." Rhys said. Lucien wrenched at the chains. The spikes glowed red. Holly swore under her breath.

"Its not going to be a clean death." Holly whispered. Rhys eyes were on Feyre as she turned to what was written on the wall. Holly noticed the girl shaking as she read the thing. Holly raised an eyebrow. The spiked gate was still decending.

'She can't read.' Rhys spoke in Holly's mind as Amaratha taunted her.

'I can tell.' Holly said as Feyre tried reading it.

"Answer it!" Lucien shouted. The metal groaned as it scraped against the smooth stone of the chamber. Whispers from the faerie grew more frenzied. Holly nibbled on her lip. "Feyre!" The gate continued to lower. "Just pick one." Feyre reached for one of the levers and stared at it. Holly watched as she reached for the second liver and pulled back. Holly raised an eyebrow as she saw Feyre find Rhys.

'Don't worry about it.' Rhys told her in her mind.

'What did you do? You helping her without looking suspicious?' Holly asked. Rhys gave her a bored look and she knew she was right. Feyre reached for the third lever then to the middle then the first. Then Feyre grabbed the third lever and pulled. The grate stopped moving to Holly's relief. Feyre looked up in relief. The grate groaned as it lifted toward the ceiling.

"That was close. To close." Holly whispered to Rhys. He nodded as the floor beneath Feyre began to rise. Holly left the room. Holly closed her eyes and sighed. This was starting to get to her.

"Little Sister." A familiar voice called. Holly opened her eyes to see Draco standing in front of her with an evil smirk on his face.

"What do you want?" Holly asked.

"Time for a little hunt." Draco said. A sack went over Holly's head and everything went black.

AN: Uh oh. Few more chapters before the Third Task and she'll be back with Azriel. Till Next time.
