Hello all, once again! So, I was stumped on ideas for a while, having some half-baked ones, until I was playing Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and realized I practically have a goldmine to work with here. Hopefully you guys will agree. In the meantime, enjoy!
Settling Down
Akari stood at the front gates, waiting for Rei to show up as she had asked. In the roughly three years she had known and worked with the guy, he wasn't necessarily punctual, but neither was he perpetually late. Still, she wanted to get on with this show; she'd been working herself up to it for a few months, now.
About three years prior, Akari had fallen from the sky, with nothing but the thin, very out-of-place clothes on her back, and the strange glowing tablet, as she'd heard some of the villagers say, in her pocket. No memories, no family, though strangely not without purpose. She'd been tasked by the one known in these lands as Almighty Sinnoh to meet all Pokémon. It had been exceptionally dangerous, she still had scars from the worst of her encounters, and not without its harrowing moments, like when the paranoid Commander Kamado decided that she, a small human girl on the cusp of adulthood, was somehow responsible for the skies looking like they were tearing themselves apart. She still sighed at the memory.
Then there was the daunting task of not just meeting all Pokémon, but catching and studying them for the Professor, the kooky Galarian who, admittedly, was much more forward thinking than their contemporaries at the time. And all of it culminated in meeting the being who sent her here in the first place, Almighty Sinnoh itself, though she was more content calling it Arceus. But, even with her task complete, and the Arc Phone having nothing more for her to do, she was lost. After over a year and a half, bordering on two, she was still stuck in the past.
At first she'd been panicked, then angry, and then depressed. She had cycled through these for a while, but when nothing further happened, she settled into a certain calm. If she'd served her initial purpose, but was still here, then perhaps she was always meant to be here. Or perhaps she hadn't served her complete purpose, though what that was to be would be a mystery, if ever she found it out. But whatever the case, staying locked in her room wouldn't fix the problem.
At last, the boy- or, she supposed, man- she'd been waiting for had arrived, and she instructed the gate guard that they were heading for the Obsidian Fieldlands. After making sure their rations, Pokémon, and other essentials were in order, they headed out, and in short order made it to the Fieldlands Camp. Akari led Rei to the nearest bridge, then let out her Basculegion, climbing onto it and telling Rei
"Come on, get on." Rei looked apprehensive, asking
"Are you sure that's safe?" Akari nodded, replying
"Yeah, I do it all the time. Besides, it'll be faster than walking, and Braviary can't carry us both." Rei hesitated again, but nodded and acquiesced, Akari helping him stay on the large fish Pokémon's back. With a nudge forward, Basculegion began swimming, following the river down away from Aspiration Hill and toward the Sandgem Flats. After a short while, Akari steered Basculegion to shore, the two disembarking and Akari thanking Basculegion before returning it, then turned and began leading the way toward Lake Verity. Rei noticed this, asking
"We're headed for the lake?" Akari nodded, answering
"Yep." Rei was confused, questioning
"But I thought you already caught Mesprit? Did something else happen there?" Akari smirked; for as strange as the boy she knew was, he was also full of questions, always looking for answers. And he'd get them, though perhaps not the ones he expected. To answer his current question, she told him
"No, nothing's happened. I just wanted to show you something." Rei was still confused, but at this point knew better than to question the Faller. She was as full of mystery as she was skill and experience with Pokémon, and that was something he admittedly liked about her, and at the same time was intimidated by her for. She could just as easily wipe the floor with him in a battle as she could any of the wild Pokémon out here, and had on multiple occasions.
Eventually, the two reached Lake Verity, and Akari pulled out Basculegion again, the two being taken across the water to the small, domed cave. Akari led the way in, Rei looking around for any clue as to what she'd brought him here for, though he saw nothing out of the ordinary. Once they were in the spacious cave, Akari said to him
"You know, sometimes I'm surprised that I've been here for a few years, and that I'm still here in the first place." Rei nodded, agreeing
"The time has moved quite quickly. I think even Adaman would be shocked." Akari giggled at the mention of the Diamond Clan leader, adding
"I just hope we don't have anymore trouble with the Lords. Their frenzies were crazy enough." Rei smirked, replying
"I don't know, you seemed to make it look manageable. I certainly wouldn't look forward to taking on Lord Kleavor, with those hands, or Lord Avalugg, for obvious reasons." Akari shivered, muttering
"Damn Icelands." Then she composed herself, continuing
"Still, that's not why I asked you to come out here with me." Rei nodded, looking around, and going to a wall out of curiosity, asking
"Why is that, anyway? Was there something here you wanted me to see?" Akari smirked, replying
"Actually, yes." Rei turned to her, curiosity brimming at this point, and asked
"Well? What is it?" Akari approached him, which prompted him to step aside, thinking she was going to show him something specific on the wall, but was then surprised when she kept her attention focused on him, saying
"First, I never properly thanked you for helping me, all those years ago." Rei was confused, asking
"Whattya mean?" Akari explained
"I showed up, falling out of the sky, and was told to catch three different Pokémon, something no one else had apparently done. Not only were you friendly toward me, welcoming me into the Galaxy Team, but you even went out of your way to teach me tactics to catch Pokémon, in ways I'm sure I've never done where I'm from." Rei smiled bashfully, saying
"Ah, it was nothing! We Galaxy Survey Corpsmen have to stick together!" Akari stepped closer, arguing
"But I wasn't in the Survey Corps yet. Catching those three Pokémon was my test to either get in or get kicked out. Without your help, it might have taken me much longer to get those Pokémon, if I hadn't just died." Rei blinked, surprised, and asked
"Where's this coming from?" Akari stepped closer again, making Rei blush as they were practically face-to-face now, staring into her dark-gray eyes. He heard her tell him
"Like I said, I never properly thanked you for your help, and for everything you've done for me after that." Rei, laughing nervously, replied
"Well, uh, you're welcome! It was no trouble at all!" Akari smirked again, and Rei could have sworn that there was something new there, a mischievous glint in her eyes. If he didn't know better, he might have sworn that a Zoroark had taken her place and was about to eviscerate him, but didn't move as Akari stated softly
"Hold on, I haven't actually thanked you, yet." She closed the distance between them, pulling his head closer in the process, and placed her lips against his own, taking him by complete surprise as she kissed him. He didn't dare move, partially because he didn't want to upset her, but mostly because this was one of the best experiences he'd had in a long time. It didn't last, though, as she pulled away from him, blushing now and breathing slightly harder, saying
"There. Now I've partially thanked you properly." Rei was confused by this.
"Wait, what do you mean 'partially'?" Akari leaned into him, pressing her chest against his, making his blush deepen as a result, and practically purred
"I've still got three years' worth of time to thank you for. And I have just the ideas in mind for it." Rei's eyes widened in surprise as she dexterously pulled off his satchel, setting it aside, then quickly knelt and pulled down his pants, exposing him. He blushed much deeper, quickly saying
"Akari, wait, we shouldn't, we might-" Akari interrupted
"No one's gonna find us. Even if they come out in this direction, most of them won't have a Pokémon to cross the water with. Even if they do, they're not going to come into Mesprit's cave. We've got as much time as we want." With that, she quickly grasped Rei's manhood, making him gasp as she began to stimulate him, getting him prepared for what she had in mind. "Besides, if I really am here permanently, like I think I am, I might as well get cozy. Start thinking more about the future in Jubilife Village." Rei grinned, asking
"You think you'll be spending your future with me?" Akari smiled back, answering
"I'd like to see; maybe we can. What do you think?" Rei chuckled, stating
"I think I'm the luckiest guy in Hisui."
