A/N: Bit of a shakeup here, I know. Life's been yanking my chain lately.
I'll be taking the rest today and tomorrow off -from writing, not work- to bring you something truly special on Tuesday and every day after. A week of near constant updates, that's all I can say for now, don't want to spoil things.
We'll begin with Practice Makes Perfect on Tuesday. The rest will be...a surprise.
My old car finally broke down -transmission problems- so I'm up a creak without a paddle at the moment, to say nothing of caring for my sister who's recovering from surgery. Hopefully the costs won't be too much. Still waiting on the mechanic to call me back and praying for a miracle. If I don't put the money together by the end of the month, I'm screwed.
And if that happens...I might just lose my mind. I don't have thousands of dollars to throw away on something like that, least of all up front. I've spent SIXTEEN YEARS writing on this site, but this year alone has been truly exasperating. But enough about little 'ol me. Despite my injuries, despite RWBY being liquidated by Warner Bros and despite Long Covid, I'm still here.
Please let me know what you think; I'm having a bit of a mental breakdown today.
So here we go. The fate of this story depends on you, the reader. Your feedback determines the fate of this tale, and many others.
As ever, I own no quotes, references, themes or memes. Not a wit or one. They're tributes, one and all.
I'm just a humble author trying to make his way in this wild world, one word at a time.
Time and feedback will determine if this remains a story. Simple as that.
In other words...its up to YOU, the reader. Do let me know~!
First and foremost, a teaser for Practice Makes Perfect.
Can't spoil too much:
"...I'll do it."
~?
Just a Little Jaune (Teaser)
"I'll do it."
Jaune considered himself a kind man.
He didn't enjoy hurting people; he took no pleasure in pain.
But he didn't like the way that silver-haired bastard was looking at Pyrrha.
Really, he couldn't help himself for acting the way he did; not after what she'd said last night. In hindsight, he couldn't quite say just what it was about the smirking boy that spurred him to action; only that something did. Call it instinct, a sixth sense, a sudden feeling of dread. Whatever it was, he just couldn't help himself. He moved before thinking, as he so often did these days. So he was surprised, quite surprised indeed, to find his hand raised high in the air.
Mom would've been proud.
Ruby tugged at his sleeve. "Jaune? What're you doing?"
"Idiot!" Kurama chastised him. "What happened to not standing out?!"
It was too late for that now, wasn't it? Dad -and possibly his entire family- would reach Vale soon.
He knew his days here were probably numbered, so he didn't want to have any regrets.
And so, for once, he ignored them both. "I said I'll do it, miss Goodwitch." he kept his gaze focused firmly ahead instead. "I'll fight Mercury."
All the color drained right of the boy's face and Jaune noticed. Curious. Where had his enthusiasm gone?
"Absolutely not." Goodwitch glowered at him. "You only just fought against Team RWBY-
Mercury raised both hands to ward him off. "Yeah, on second though, I'm good."
Pyrrha preened and made pleased Pyrrha noises as she looked on
"No, no, no. You wanted a fight" Jaune shook his head. "So!"
He grabbed Merc with a chakra arm and yanked.
"Get over here!"
A/N: We'll cut it here. Don't wanna spoil too much.
Would you like an update next week? Do let me know! We'll be picking up the pace soon, but with the notifications down, I really need to hear from you here.
RWBY may have been canned by Warner Bros. but we fanfiction writers are out here trying to keep the light alive, as it were. So here we go. The fate of this story depends on you, the reader. Your feedback determines the fate of this tale, and many others.
So by all means, speak up! Raise your voice! Make yourself heard! Your reviews matter!
That's no joke! I can't write without feedback. Guess that makes me weak...T_T
