A/N: I do not own any character references by JK Rowling in the Harry Potter series or agree with her comments. This story is a product of my pure imagination.
Do you remember, we were sitting there, by the water?
You put your arm around me for the first time.
You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter.
You're the best thing that's ever been mine
Flash forward, and we're taking on the world together
And there's a drawer of my things at your place.
You learn my secrets, and you figure out why I'm guarded.
You say we'll never make my parent's mistakes
But we got bills to pay
We got nothing figured out.
When it was hard to take
Yes, yes, this is what I thought about

*~*~* May 1, 2008 (Twenty-Seven Weeks Along) *~*~*
Sitting in the backseat of her Mum's car as Juliet drove them to King's Cross Station, Hermione felt an off mixture of anticipation and dread. The sun was shining, warming her face as they went through the streets of London.
Juliet's eyes met her own in the rearview, "You seem so tense today. You don't have to reveal anything you don't want to."
Hermione sighed as she looked out the window, and Harry took her hand. "No, it needs to be done. I'm tired, Mum. I'm tired of hiding everything and not living our lives like we should be."
Harry laced his fingers through hers and kissed her hand, "We don't have to do this. We can turn around and not go."
Hermione looked at him, "Yes, we do. Like I said, I'm tired of hiding. I'm getting to be so big that not even notice-me-not charms will work soon. I already have to be careful getting out of chairs in meetings."
"Well, at least we have a positive. We get to go back home for a weekend. We will stay in the castle and eat in the Great Hall. There will be no reporters until tomorrow night when they will leave. We will have fun at the Quidditch game and the remembrance ball on Saturday. Like you said, there will be no hiding. We get just to be ourselves at Hogwarts like we should have been all along. We leave Sunday morning, and I have a surprise for you." Harry told her as Juliet pulled into the car park.
Hermione stared at him suspiciously, "A surprise?"
"We're going on a little trip. That is all I will say," Harry said, opening his car door and getting out.
Taking a deep breath and slowly letting it out, Hermione stepped out of the car. Harry came around and helped her out. Smiling, he touched her face, "We're doing this together. You, me, and Jamie too, Teddy in spirit."
A smile found its way onto Hermione's face as she thought of Jamie. Their secret was soon to be revealed to everyone. Juliet took their rucksacks and handed them to Harry. "If you need us, you know how to find myself and Sirius, and don't worry about Teddy. Just enjoy yourselves."
"Thanks, Mum," Harry said as they hugged her. Then he took Hermione's hand. "Ready?"
With a deep inhale, Hermione nodded, "Ready."
Hand in hand, Harry and Hermione walked into Kings Cross and made their way towards platforms 9 and 10. Harry grinned as he pulled Hermione into his arms, then leaned back against the platform, falling backward through it.
The scarlet train seemed more vibrant than usual, and the platform was quieter as Ron yelling their names made them. There was no hiding now. The rest of Dumbledore's Army was already there. Ron with his arm around Luna's shoulder, Neville hand in hand with Hannah, Ginny was standing with Seamus and Dean talking. They may be older, but Hermione smiled as Angelina, George, Alicia, and Lee came through the platform.
Angelina nudged Hermione, "Finally going public?"
Hermione nodded as Parvati and Padma walked over, Dudley following her.
"Dudley, you are coming?" Harry asked, surprised.
Dudley nodded, "Padma got permission. I thought it would be interesting to see how you lived when you left our house."
Harry held out his hand, "More the merrier." As Dudley shook it.
A flash from a bulb made her look up to see Dennis taking pictures.
"Holy shit!"
Hermione rolled her eyes as Cormac McLaggen approached them, "Hello McLaggen."
"When did you go get yourself knocked up?" Cormac asked, surprised.
"Mine and Harry's pregnancy is none of your business, Cormac," Hermione told him.
Cormac looked at them surprised, "So the rumours are true. You've gone down in the world if you are settling with Potter. You could have married me."
Hermione scoffed, "I would have married a Blast-Ended Skrewt first. Come on, let's go find a carriage."
Harry snorted and grinned, looking back at Cormac as they boarded the train. "You handled that wonderfully."
Hermione rolled her eyes, "It was the truth. I wouldn't have married him in a million years."
"Hermione! Over here!"
Hermione followed the sound of Parvati's voice, taking Harry's hand to lead him through the car.
"Hey guys," Hermione said as she sat across from Parvati and her husband, Luke, "Luke, I'm gladyou could join us."
Luke smiled, "I am interested to see the famous Hogwarts. Hyderabad heard rumours of it, but it would be interesting to see it in person."
The Express's whistle blew, and the train started pulling away from the station. Leaning back with her hand on her belly, Hermione looked out the window with a smile.
"Do you think they just keep this parked at King's Cross when they don't use it?" Ron asked.
"No, it makes a trip once every other day. One day there, one day back," Luna told them.
"And it will more than likely go faster. We typically have over 30 cars with dining cars and multiple passenger cars. There were only four today; it should increase our speed a bit," Hermione theorized.
As the day grew, Seamus and Dean brought up the subject of Quidditch, which turned into a conversation about W3 products led by George and Lee. Parvati told about Witch Weekly's most eligible bachelor issue, while Alicia and Padma discussed cases they were working on at work. Lavender drew sketches of outfits for everyone while Anthony, Seamus, Dean, and Ron started a game of Gobstones to show Dudley.
Sighing, Hermione yawned as she rested her head on Harry's shoulder.
"Hermione, you are tired. Close your eyes," Harry told her.
Ron rubbed her belly, "Is my godson keeping you awake?"
Hermione yawned, "No, I don't want to be asleep when no one else is."
Ron rolled his eyes. "Put your feet on my lap and lay in Harry's lap. We will make sure you don't roll off."
Hermione sighed, "Fine."
Ron and Harry helped her move her feet and rest her head in Harry's lap. Hermione crossed her arms over her chest, "There is no way I'm going to nap."
Hermione swallowed hard, licking her lips as she slowly opened her eyes to someonegently running their fingers through her hair. Looking up as Harry smiled down at her, she smiled, "I fell asleep, didn't I?"
Harry nodded, "Obviously, you needed it."
Hermione slowly sat up with his help and stretched as Jamie kicked her. "I think I am going to walk around a bit and stretch my legs," she said.
Harry pulled his attention away from Dean and Seamus, who were talking about a Quidditch match. "I'll come with you," he said.
"No, no. I'm fine," Hermione told him as she stood up.
"Don't wander off too far," Harry told her with a smile.
"Promise not to go jumping trains. I haven't started training for maternity marathon running yet," Hermione said as she touched his face.
Walking out of their train car, she slid the door open to find some other Alumni she didn't realize had come. Smiling at a few Ravenclaws, she recognized, who nodded at her. She heard the whispers as she left that car towards the smell of food. Sliding the door behind her, Dudley looked up from his mug of Butterbeer, where he was talking to Luke.
Dudley sighed, "It's strange," she heard him say, "Living around all of you, with all of… this, and not being a part of it. I saw some with Harry growing up but never paid attention to it. Padma tried to explain things, but there are times when she screams in the middle of the night that I just don't get it. You know?"
Hermione approached the merchant, "Just a bag of crisps, please."
"Yeah, same. We didn't deal with any of it in India. We were too far attached. We heard the murmurs. Parvati may deal better with it. I'm magical, but I feel like an outsider myself in her world."
Taking her crisps, she approached them, "Mind if I join you?"
"Of course," Dudley said as he moved his jacket.
"It was hard for me too," Hermione told them as she rested her hands on her belly, "Learning that I was magical after being a Muggle all my life. My world was split, and I felt like I was living two lives. I was part of this magical world, but not completely. I still do not understand all the customs and traditions. Back then… when I first started… the wizarding world was even more backward than it is now."
Dudley nodded, "I know from when you and I were… close, I wouldn't even call it dating because it wasn't. It was just hanging out, no offense."
"None was taken," Hermione waved him off.
"Just from then to now. I can tell a lot has changed. Padma said that the war changed a lot, but you and Harry have made many changes, too," Dudley told her.
"It wasn't just us. Wizards were afraid of Muggle things. Technology, electricity, just something as simple as a telephone. I think there is more understanding nowand less fear from the Pureblood families who were told that Muggles were beneath them. Now, they realize through technology and electricity, WE were the ones behind," Hermione told them with a sigh as the greening fields rushed past them, "Thanks to the new generation and my generation. These new students grew up knowing both worlds, and other wizards are curious because they see we can live alongside them. Look at the new hotel. They found a way to tap into electricity but used the magical modifiers for themagic to coexist alongside. Honestly, that wizard will be rich if it takes off more."
Jamie kicked, and Hermione ran her thumb over where he kicked, "So Dudley, even if you don't have magic, it doesn't make you less interesting to them. You might find that wizards and witches may be more fascinated by you than you are by them."
Dudley shook his head, "Padma tells me that. With Mum and Dad, though, knowing all I know and being married to a witch, I feel like a stranger in my own family."
Hermione swallowed, "Now you know how Harry felt."
Dudley exhaled, "I feel horrid now about it all."
Hermione touched his arm, "But now, you are a bridge between our worlds. You are going into sports medicine now. Quidditch is a very physically demanding sport. Sometimes, magic can only do so much. If you are interested, Ginny and I can get you in contact with teams."
"I used to be terrified of magic. Dad and Mum would tell these horror stories, but seeing it through Padma's eyes and soon our child… it's like I am living in a storybook. It doesn't seem completely real," Dudley told her.
"It is, and it isn't. There are ways to fake a lot in magic. Magic can be beautiful and dangerous just the same. Harry and I know that more than most," Hermione told him, subconsciously touching her left arm.
Standing, Hermione smoothed her shirt down, "I'll leave you two to your drinks. Harry will be worried if I don't get back soon." Hermione smiled as she felt his worry stronger, "In fact…"
The car door slid open, and Harry walked through, "There you are."
Luke looked at her, surprised, "Did you see him?"
"No, I felt him worrying," Hermione answered as she held up the bags of crisps, "I got us some crisps. I was catching up with Dudley and Luke."
Harry looked at Dudley, "Have you talked to Aunt Petunia and Vernon yet?"
Dudley inhaled, "Mum, yes, but not Dad."
Harry nodded, "When you do, I'll be there for you."
Dudley nodded, "Thanks."
Harry put his arm around Hermione's shoulders, "Luna said she had a story to tell you."
"Lord, I can just imagine," Hermione said, shaking her head.
A couple of hours later, the Hogwarts Express slowed as it approached Hogsmeade Station, revealing a small crowd of reporters gathered outside, their cameras lighting up the dark station in the dim evening light.
Hermione swallowed hard at the sight as Harry brought her jacket over for her.
"Are you ready for this?" Harry asked.
"Yes. We aren't defenseless first years anymore. We have power of our own now," Hermione told him.
Harry gently placed his hand on her face, his thumb grazing her cheek as he kissed her, "Not that I'd imagine they'd dare, but I'll protect you."
Dean stepped over to him, "We all will."
Neville grabbed his and Hannah's bags and then walked over to the door to their car, "We're going to run ahead and make sure the carriages are ready for us for a fast getaway," he told them as he led Hannah out into the cool evening air.
Hermione's eyes looked out the window. "What if she is out there?" she asked, worrying her lip.
Harry squeezed her hand and kissed her again, "Stop biting your lip. If Rita is there, who cares? Tomorrow, WE willtell our story. She won't have anything left to twist or take."
Hermione took a deep breath as Ron looked at them, "Hagrid's here. He's keeping the press back."
Hermione felt relief wash over her body as she saw Hagrid's familiar silhouette. "See?" Harry whispered with a grin, "Our family's got us."
Hermione smiled as she wiped away the tears that escaped, "I'm ready."
With a final squeeze of Harry's hand, they followed Ron and Luna out, the rest of the DA trailing close behind as Harry stepped down first, his hand outstretched for Hermione. Just as she stepped onto the platform, Rita's shrill voice echoed through the crowd.
"Well, well. You and Harry sure were hiding a secret, weren't you?" Rita called out as Hermione glanced in her direction to see her Quick-Quotes Quill hovering at the ready.
Hermione took a calming breath, "Rita, why do you think that was?" she replied, her voice steadier than she felt, "We decide when our lives are made public. Not you, a parasitic BUG determined to ruin them. Guess what, Rita? You have no power. We have nothing to hide. We are just ourselves. If you want to learn more about our baby, read my book, which will be released tomorrow. I'm not sure if you've heard about it."
Hermione turned to Harry, ignoring the other reporters, calling out in Rita's silence, "Let's go home."
Ron chuckled as they climbed into an awaiting carriage, "Hermione, I think you may have finally shut her up."
Hermione smiled, "That felt good."
"I think she nearly wet herself when you mentioned the bug," Ron laughed, "Tomorrow, she'll know she's finished."
"Serves her right," Luna said as the carriage began to move along the familiar path toward Hogwarts.
Ron gazed out the window, lost in thought as Harry drew shapes across the skin of her belly, and Jamie kicked at his hand as if he sensed Harry's touch, "It feels like a lifetime ago since we all took this route together."
Hermione winched as the carriage hit a bump, shifting uncomfortably. "Feels more uncomfortable this time around," she mumbled.
Harry placed his hand over hers on the seat. Concern was etched all over his face. "Are you doing all right?"
"He's on my bladder, or maybe my kidney," Hermione sighed as another bump jarred her, making her groan softly.
Harry stood up and leaned halfway out the carriage window, making Hermione gasp, "Harry! What are you doing?"
"Just a little cushioning charm," he yelled, bracing himself as Ron grabbed onto his feet, and the ride smoothed out.
Ron rolled his eyes as Harry settled back into his seat, "Next time, ask before you dangle yourself out the window. That was mad."
Headmistress McGonagall was waiting by the front doors as they approached the castle. A warm smile was spread across her face as they climbed out. Harry lifted Hermione gently to the ground.
"I wasn't sure if you two would make it today," McGonagall greeted, glancing at Hermione's belly, "Hermione, you look radiant."
"Thank you, Pro…um, Minerva," Hermione corrected with a slight blush.
"I've arranged rooms for you all in the guest professor suites," McGonagall said as she noticed Dudley climbing out of his carriage, his eyes wide with awe.
"This is where you went to school?" Dudley asked, gazing at the towering stone walls and turrets.
Harry smirked as he walked over and threw his arm around his cousin's shoulders, "Welcome to Hogwarts, Big D."
McGonagall's eyes narrowed, "Mr. Dursley, I trust you have matured since our last encounter?"
Dudley nodded, "I believe I have ma'am. I don't recall meeting you, but reconnecting with Harry changed my perspective."
McGonagall gave him a curt nod before leading them through the castle doors.
As they entered the grand entryway, Hermione's gaze lifted to the grand staircase with a frown, "I didn't think about the stairs."
"Ron, take my bag," Harry said, handing their bag to him.
"No, you can't!" Hermione said, moving away from him as he went to pick her up, "There must be another way."
"Oh really? Never heard that from you before," Ron teased as Hermione glared at him.
McGonagall stepped forward with a smile. "If the stairs worry you, Hermione, don't fret. Hogwarts has adapted. We've installed a lift for those who may need it."
Hermione's face lit up as McGonagall directed her to the small chair attached to the stairs. She walked over, taking a seat. An invisible belt crossed her waist as the chair started smoothly climbing up the stairs, and everyone else began climbing on foot.
"Miss Granger!"
Hermione smiled as Sir Nicholas glided before her, "Hello, Sir Nicholas."
"I see you are with child. Congratulations, I dare ask if the rumours around Hogwarts are true. Are you with Mr. Potter at last?" Sir. Nicholas asked.
"Yes, happily married," Hermione told him as they reached the fourth floor.
McGonagall led them down the corridor and gestured to the other corridors lined with doors. "These are all the guest professor suites. Pick any door, and it's yours for the weekend. Once you accept it, your name will be on the door. If you need anything, call on the elves."
"Thank you, Minerva," Luna said with a dreamy smile.
Harry opened the door to one of the suites, glancing inside. "This one has a big enough bed. Looks perfect."
Hermione turned to bid everyone goodnight with a tired smile before stepping inside. As Harry closed the doors behind them, Hermione sighedand sat heavily on the bed.
"All I want to do is sleep… though I probably should eat something first," Hermione stated, looking at him.
"Elf!" Harry called out, making Hermione frown.
Winky appeared before them with a pop, "Missus Grangy and Dobby's Harry Potter, sir! It is good to see you both!"
"Winky!" Hermione exclaimed with a smile.
Winky's eyes widened at Hermione's bump. "Oh, Miss, you're having a baby! Winky will get you your food right away," she said, disappearing with a little squeak of excitement.
Hermione groaned, easing back onto the bed, "It's not our bed, but it'll do," she murmured, rubbing her belly, "I'm sore everywhere."
Harry sat on the bed beside her, covering her hand and smiling as Jamie kicked. "Maybe we shouldn't have come."
Hermione shook her head and squeezed his hand, "No, we had to… the trip took more out of me than I expected."
"Roll over," Harry instructed.
Hermione rolled onto her side, and Harry gently rubbed her back. "Let's eat. Maybe try out the professors' bath, and then you can sleep. Ron and I plan to sneak out to the pitch later tonight."
She laughed, looking over her shoulder at him, "And why would that be?"
Harry grinned, "Because Filch can't stop us this time. I kind of hope to see Mrs. Norris and give her a swift kick."
Hermione gasped, "Harry!"
Harry rolled her eyes, "I wouldn't actually do it. Just in my head."
*~*~* May 2, 2008 (Twenty-Eight Weeks Along) *~*~*
The halls of Hogwarts were buzzing with energy as Harry and Hermione walked down the fourth-floor corridor towards the grand staircase, hand in hand.
Students started recognizing them with a flurry of glances and excited whispers as Harry guided Hermione to the enchanted chair lift, which waited for her, hovering quietly.
"I wonder how this works," He wondered as he helped her sit on it.
"It's magic," Hermione replied, winking at him as she descended smoothly.
Once safely on the ground floor, Harry offered his hand, pulling her close. "It's kind of nice that we can hold hands at Hogwarts," he said softly. "I always wanted to, but never could."
Hermione squeezed his hand, "Me too."
As they made their way into the Great Hall, Hermione spotted the familiar faces from Gryffindor. Ron was already devouring breakfast, his plate stacked high, while Luna wiped his face with a napkin.
Harry helped Hermione settle onto the bench beside him, and she joked, "I may never get back up," she teased, glancing at Ron, "Did you miss Hogwarts breakfasts, Ron?"
Ron grinned, "Don't tell Mum." He told her as he got more beans on his face, and Luna cleared it from his cheek, "Thanks, Sweets."
Neville looked at Ron, "You call Luna, Sweets?"
Luna looked at him, "Because Ron loves to eat his sweets."
Her words caused Hermione to choke on the pumpkin juice she had just taken a drink of, her face flushing as Harry patted her back, concerned.
Hermione covered her face in embarrassment, "Can I obliviate that from my memory? Just for a minute?"
Dean and Seamus roared with laughter as Ron's face burned red, his freckles standing out more than usual as he muttered, "Blimey, Luna. Not here!"
Harry cleared his throat, "So what's the plan for today?"
Hermione looked at him, "I am going to Hogsmeade for the book release. Luna's coming, too. I might sit in on a few classes if I feel up to it. And, of course, there is the ceremony tonight at seven."
Harry buttered some toast, "And us?"
"You two will likely be roped into some Quidditch practice, maybe even a visit with Hagrid," Hermione answered, "Or perhaps a venture into the Forbidden Forest? You know, just one last escapade for Pronglet and Padfoot…"
Harry froze mid-bite, "What?"
Hermione smiled, "Well, Dad said that he and Mum would be coming this afternoon. It seemed fitting if Prongs and Padfoot took on the forest again."
Ron dropped his fork, "Leave me out of that. With the spiders? No way. I'll leave that adventure to you two."
Luna leaned over, "Don't worry, darling. We've got other plans. There is part of Ravenclaw Tower that I've always wanted to show you."
The tips of Ron's ears turned pink as Hermione and Harry exchanged glances, trying not to laugh.
"Luna, my dear. You really do have the best ideas," Ron mumbled.
Stepping down from the carriage onto the cobblestone street of Hogsmeade, Hermione smiled at the village's familiar charm, which gave her a feeling of nostalgia. Walking towards the front door of Tomes and Scrolls, a young woman was leaving the shop and nearly collided with Luna. Eyes wide, she gasped as she recognized them.
"I just bought your book!" she explained, clutching the bag to her chest, "Oh, my Merlin and Morgana! You are pregnant!"
Hermione smiled, "Thank you. Luna and I just came to sign a few copies since we are at Hogwarts for the weekend."
"Oh, I have a quill!" the young woman said eagerly, nearly dropping the book in her excitement.
Hermione took the book and quill from her, signing it before handing it to Luna to add her signature.
Hermione looked around, noticing the growing whispers and glances as the villagers started seeing them, "Thank you again, and have a good day."
"You too!" she said excitedly as Luna opened the door for them, and Hermione walked into the cozy bookshop.
The girl behind the register looked up and gasped when she saw them, "Hermione Granger! Luna Lovegood! Welcome!" she stammered.
Hermione walked up to the counter. "Hello. I hope we aren't imposing, but we wanted to ask if you have more copies of our book left."
The girl nodded, "Yes, yes, we've sold a lot already, but there should be around fifty left. I have another box in the storage room and a few on display."
"Would it be all right if we signed some of them? Just for your store?" Luna asked.
"Of course! Thank you both!" she bit her lip as she pushed the copy across the counter toward them, "Um, this is my copy. Could you sign it, too? I want to say I'm really happy for you and Harry."
Hermione tried not to cry as she took the book, "Thank you," she said as she looked at her, "What is your name?"
"Paula," she stated.
Hermione quickly wrote her a note of appreciation and then signed it before handing it to Luna, "Thank you for supporting us."
Paula grinned, "I'll go get the box of books."
Hermione laid back on their bed, her fingers struggling with the zipper of her trousers as she let out a frustrated groan. Harry emerged from the bathroom, completely naked, toweling off his damp hair.
Seeing her on the bed, he froze, "What are you doing?"
Hermione sighed, her head dropping back onto the pillow, "Trying to fit into my trousers for the ceremony, but Jamie has other ideas," she muttered.
Harry chuckled and sat beside her on the bed, "Hermione, love, those are definitely not your maternity trousers."
"I was hoping to avoid them today, butJamie wins," she sighed, resigning.
Harry's grin widened, "Isn't he the size of a head of lettuce or something now? He's not trying to sabotage your outfits."
Hermione huffed as she shimmed out of her trousers and tossed them across the room before lying back, "Well, there'll be no hiding it now."
Harry grabbed her maternity trousers, "Here, let me help." Hermione stood up, sliding into her trousers. "Isn't that better?"
Hermione smoothed her shirt over her belly, looking at her reflection in the mirror, "Your child has been kicking me all day," she told him.
"Oh, so now he's my child?" Harry asked, wrapping his arms around her from behind.
Hermione looked at him through their reflection, "Only when he's mischievous."
Harry kissed her cheek, "I don't know, My. I think his Mum can be pretty mischievous when she wants to."
Turning in his arms, she looped her arms around his neck, "Well, I must have had a bad influence," she said, brushing her lips against his, "I was such a rule follower. I don't know what went wrong?"
A distant bell echoed through the castle, and Hermione pulled back, "You better get ready."
A short while later, they joined Ron and Luna outside the trophy room. Neville, Hannah, and Ginny were next to join them.
Hermione asked them, "Does anyone know exactly what this remembrance ceremony will entail?"
Ginny shrugged, "If it's like the first year. Speeches, shared memories."
"The ceremony isn't just about remembering. Can't you feel them with us again? Even for just a while?" Luna asked.
Harry held his arm out for Hermione, "Ready?"
Hermione took his arm, and together, their friends walked to the Great Hall, which had been transformed from the morning. The Hall was now draped in dark blue banners with silver stars. The candles seemed to float lower than normal as the audience was filled with students, faculty, alums, and othersgathered to remember the fallen. There were a few gasps as Harry led Hermione to their seats in the front row. They sat down as Kingsley stood at the podium. Hermione watched as he surveyed the faces before him, nodding at them.
With a deep breath, he began, "We gather here tonight, ten years after the Battle of Hogwarts, to remember the courage, the sacrifices, and the spirit that defeated the darkness that took over our world. In this place, in this very room, we witnessed bravery beyond measure. Tonight, we remember those we lost and honour the legacy left behind."
Hermione dabbed her eyes as Kingsley read off all the names of those killed in the final battle. The bell tolled for each of the lives lost.
After the final bells echoed through the hall, he paused as he looked at Harry, Hermione, Ron, Luna, Ginny, Neville, and Hannah. "I'd also like to acknowledge six individuals who fought for us when many others refused to stand. They fought with bravery, beginning long before that final battle. From their fifth year at Hogwarts, these young men and women stepped forward to defend what is right, even when their lives were in harm's way."
Hermione wiped her eyes as Kingsley looked at them, "Harry Potter, Hermione Granger-Potter, and Ron Weasley, the Golden Trio as they are affectionately called now. From the beginning, they fought for justice, freedom, and protection for every witch and wizard, even if they opposed them. Their courage inspired students and adults, and their bond carried them through the darkest moments."
"And we must never overlook the remarkable bravery of Neville Longbottom, whogave us hope in the darkest of hours. He led students, protected the younger ones, and stood tall when others fell. Luna Lovegood, whose kindness and loyalty taught us to believe in each other, and Ginny Weasley, who showed us how to fight with courage." Kingsley looked at the crowd, "When others wouldn't fight, these six individuals, along with countless others who fought by their side, were more than soldiers. They were leaders, role models, and, yes, heroes. Without them, we wouldn't be here today."
Kingsley swallowed hard. "For those who fought, we remember you. For those who gave their lives, we honour you. For those who live, we carry on your legacy."
Raising his wand, he lit the tip, holding it high in the air. Hermione followed suit, and the room grew quiet as everyone followed Kingsley by lifting their wands, covering the ceiling in hundreds of glowing stars.
"Let us all remember to honour that legacy by living with kindness, courage, and love and to pass it on to our future generations."
Hermione wiped her eyes and looked up at Remus and Tonks's portraits, nodding asshe took Harry's hand.
*~*~* May 3, 2008 (Twenty-Eight Weeks Along) *~*~*
Hermione and Harry rounded the corner of the training grounds to see the Quidditch pitch, which was buzzing even from a distance. It was already filled with alumni, students, and faculty witnessing the first-ever alumni charity Quidditch match.
Walking around the back of the pitch to the tent, the first two people they spotted were Cho Chang, standing andtalking to Oliver Wood. Cho's eyes met Hermione's, and she shook her head.
"I was right all along. I knew it would happen eventually," Cho stated, "No woman could ever stand up next to Hermione Granger in Harry Potter's eyes."
Harry kissed Hermione's cheek, "Guess I was just blind to it back then. She's always been my number one."
Draco strolled over and raised an eyebrow, "Sickening Potter. Nauseating, honestly."
Harry laughed, extending his hand as Draco took it with a nod. "I'mglad you made it, Draco."
Turning to Hermione, Draco looked at her with a slight smile, "Pregnancy looks good on you."
"Thank you, Draco. How's Scorpius?" Hermione asked.
Draco's face lit up, "He's amazing. After… well, everything from my childhood, I was worried. But I am raising him completely differently than Lucius raised me. I refuse to raise him that way."
Hermione hugged him, "I'm so happy for you, Draco."
Draco pulled back, clearing his throat, "All right. Enough of that. We're here for Quidditch." He looked at the gathering players, "Seems like you've got way more Gryffindors and Ravenclaws than Slytherins and Hufflepuffs. Typical."
"We'll trade-off, so everyone gets a fair go," Harry assured him, "Plus, it's been ages since most of us were on a broom for a decent stretch."
Luna skipped over and looped her arm in Hermione's, "Ready?" Luna asked.
Harry looked at her, "Take it easy up there," he told her as he kissed her.
Hermione rolled her eyes, "I'll be fine, Harry." Waving him off with a grin, she and Luna headed to their seats.
Slowly making her way to their seats, Neville had thankfully saved them seats towards the bottom so that Hermione did not have to climb all the stairs.
"Thanks," Hermione said as she sat down and groaned, "I'm getting tired of being pregnant."
Hannah laughed, "How many more months?"
"Three," Hermione groaned as the teams came out to cheers.
Today's game was players from Gryffindor and Ravenclaw playing against Slytherin and Hufflepuff.
"Welcome to the Hogwarts Alumni game benefiting Wands for Warriors! I am your announcer, Lee Jordan, part owner of the fabulous Weasleys Wizard Wheezes. Don't forget to stop by with all your joking needs!" Lee announced. "Today we have Team Gryffindor/Ravenclaw versus Slytherin/Hufflepuff. First up is Gryffindor/Ravenclaw! Today's seekers will be Cho Chang and Harry Potter! Beaters will be George Weasley, Duncan Inglebee, and Ritchie Coote rotating. Chasers rotating will be Roger Davis, Angelina Johnson, Alicia Spinnet, Katie Bell, and Ginny Weasley! While your keepers will be Ron Weasley and Oliver Wood alternating!"
Hermione cheered with the crowd.
"For Team Slytherin/Hufflepuff, Seeker: Draco Malfoy! Beaters: Michael McManus and Peregrine Derrick as Beaters. Chasers: Tamsin Applebee, Cassius Warrington, and Zacharius Smith! Miles Bletchley at Keeper!"
Harry led the first string into the sky with the blow of the whistle. Ron was a bit rusty but blocked the first attempt by Applebee, and the crowd roared as Ginny got the Quaffle taking off across the field and scored effortlessly against Miles Bletchley.
The whistle blew, and Alicia switched places with Ginny making people in the stands boo at the loss of their Quidditch star. Harry was flying around looking for the Snitch near Hermione's seating area and glanced in her direction. Hermione smiled and blew him a kiss, and he flew over, stopping before her.
"The pitch is that way, Mr. Potter," Hermione grinned as she looked at her watch, "You have only two minutes left until Cho switches with you."
"I thought I'd get my power play kiss," he grinned.
Hermione laughed, "So dramatic," she teased him as he flipped upside down and their lips met.
Pushing him away, she laughed, "Get out of here."
Harry rolled back up and zoomed across the field, showing that his Firebolt was still one of the best brooms on the market despite being over ten years old.
The whistle blew, indicating that the first string had to switch to the second string after Angelina scored for Gryffindor.
The match went back and forth for another thirty minutes as Harry got back into the game. Hermione felt Harry's excitement and looked as he jetted off, speeding towards the Gryffindor/Ravenclaw goalposts with Draco hot on his tail. George hit a Bludgers at Draco, making him veer off. Hermione held her breath as Draco streaked towards Harry. The Snitch went low towards the grass of the pitch, and Harry's barrel rolled upside down, making Hermione gasp, holding on with only his legs as he reached out, fingers closing around the Snitch as Draco had to pull up.
The stadium erupted in applause as Harry grabbed his broom with the other hand, not holding the Snitch, and dismounted it onto the pitch.
Neville took her hand, "You okay?"
"I'm so glad he doesn't play anymore, and I regret asking him and Ron to help teach the kids Quidditch at the school," Hermione said, running her hand over her face as the players all converged on the pitch celebrating, "He better not teach Teddy this shite."
Stepping into the Great Hall, Hogwarts had never looked more breathtaking to Hermione. Tonight, they celebrated history and new beginnings as alums mingled with students in theirfifth year and up. Hermione recognized various alums from all generations as the room filled with men in their finest robes and suits and women in their finest dresses, showing wizarding couture was moving forward from the past. Harry chuckled as he pointed towards the bar where two students were trying to pass for being old enough and were denied alcohol.
After greeting a few people, Harry and Hermione made it to the front table nearest the dance floor in the centre of the front, where Ron, Luna, Neville, and Hannah were already gathered talking to Sir. Nicholas about their Hogwarts years. As Harry pulled her chair out, Hermione noticed Bill and Fleur to their left, and they sat with George, Angelina, Percy, and Audrey. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley were at home with all the grandkids, and Teddy washaving a sleepover for the night so that everyone could attend tonight. Ron offered Harry a Butterbeer, which Harry accepted. Harry had just taken a drink of itwhen familiar faces at the table to their right caught his eye, and he choked on his Butterbeer, coughing into his hand and down his face.
"Are you okay?" Hermione asked, patting his back, "What's wrong?"
Harry nodded to the table next to them as he sat down, "Ginny is sitting with the Snakes."
Hermione glanced over to see Ginny seated between Charlie and Draco, who had Daphne and Blaise to his left. Theo was sitting next to Charlie. "And Charlie. She's sitting next to Charlie."
"And Draco," Harry added, frowning as Kingsley took to the podium, "His father tried to kill her once."
Hermione gave him an exasperated look, "And his aunt tried to kill me, yet I still dated him. Does that say something about me, too?"
Harry blinked at her, "That was different. You had the kinship curse."
"She's. NOT. Dating. Him," she whispered with a roll of her eyes, "She's sitting with Charlie. Relax, Harry. Trust her."
Kingsley cleared his throat at the podium, drawing everyone's attention. He waited until everyone grew quiet. "Ten years," Kingsley began, "It has been ten years since the Battle of Hogwarts and the end of a war that defined at least two generations. It has been ten years of rebuilding, adjusting to new norms, and honouring those who sacrificed so much for the peace we enjoy today."
Hermione glanced up at Remus and Tonks' portraits, which had moved into the same frame to hold each other.
"We have learned to adjust to a new world, to shape it as we see fit. But let us not grow complacent or stagnant. The wizarding world is finally evolving, and it must continue growing. Welcoming new challenges, new ideas, and new technologies. Only through this can we truly honour the legacy of those who came before." The room erupted in applause, and Kingsley looked out over the crowd, "And now, it's time to open the ball. I invite Harry and Hermione Potter, Luna Lovegood and Ron Weasley, Neville Longbottom and Hannah Abbott, Miss Ginny Weasley, and guests to take the floor."
Harry stood as he extended his hand to Hermione and looked over to see Ginny taking Theo's hand as he led her to the dance floor.
"What is it with you and Draco suddenly?" Hermione whispered, slipping her hand into Harry's as they joined the others on the floor, "Is everything okay at work?"
"Nothing, I just find it… odd," Harry told her as he looked at her, "Enough about them. Hey. Look at us. We are finally getting our Hogwarts ball dance together as a couple."
Hermione smiled as she wrapped her arms around his neck. "It's about time," she told him, "And they started swaying to the music.
Harry leaned down and captured her lips in a gentle kiss, and the sound of the room around them faded around Hermione. Hermione rested her forehead against his lips, realizing that this moment was meant for them, years in the making, and her dreams finally came true. The Mirror of Erised and what she had seen nearly nine years before held nothing to her current life.
The moment was broken when someone bumped into them, causing Hermione to open her eyes as she and Harry looked over at Ron. "All right, break it up, break it up," Ron teased with a smirk, nudging Harry again.
Hermione shot him a look, "Seriously, Ron? You two nearly made us go blind to get out of your house the night you proposed, and we had to blindfold the children because you two were going at it on the dining room table! You have no room to talk."
Ron's cheeks flushed red as Luna giggled, spinning playfully beside him, "Oh… um…yeah. Fair point."
The friends laughed, and Harry held his hand out to Luna. Ron switched to dance with Hermione, and Kingsley came to the floor with Professor McGonagall, opening the floor to everyone.
Ron looked down at her, "I'm glad you are finally happy, Hermione."
Hermione tried to hold back her tears, trying to cry, "Same for you, Ron."
Later that evening, when everyone was still in the Great Hall, Harry took Hermione to the seventh floor.
"Are we going to the room of requirement?" Hermione asked.
"Yes," Harry said as he led her to the wall. He paced three times, and the door appeared.
Entering the Room, Harry had modeled it after their Head Suite, with the Mirror of Erised in the middle.
"Harry."
"I know they aren't real, but I just want to see how the mirror has changed because I think I already know," Harry told her with a smile as he let go of her hand to walk over to the mirror.
Hermione sighed as Harry stood before the mirror and smiled, "Did it change?"
Harry nodded as he smiled at her, "You and me old, with Mum and Sirius, even older with us, Teddy, Victoire, and kids. Then we have two kids all grown up with us, too. So, it's changed but just gotten better." Harry stepped back, "Want to see?"
Hermione looked at the mirror tentatively, then stepped forward. The image in the glass was her and Harry with their arms around each other. Teddy was tall next to Harry. A mini-Harry was standing in front of Harry, and a younger version of herself was standing in front of herself. At their feet was a baby in a tiny dresswith messy black curls and brown eyes, a beautiful combination of them both. All three of her parents were behind them, laughing.
The image rippled as Harry put his arms around her waist and rested his chin on her head, "So has it changed?"
Hermione smiled at him through their reflection. "It was just like this. You, me, and our children," she said, rubbing her belly.
"So, this is the room of requirement," Sirius commented as he entered the door.
Harry frowned, "How did you get in here?"
Sirius grinned, "You may have found one area that we didn't, but that doesn't mean I don't know how to use the magic of Hogwarts myself." Sirius frowned, "So you required the Head Girl and Boy Suite?"
Harry looked at him, confused, "How do you know this was the Heads Suite?"
Sirius grinned, "I bugged Lily and James many times before they locked me out." He told them as he stepped in front of the mirror and froze, "What is this?"
"The Mirror of Erised. It shows you what your heart's deepest desires are. Not the future," Harry said sadly.
Juliet slowly walked over to him, "I just see you."
Sirius swallowed hard, "I see us, Harry, Hermione, and a mini-Harry standing with Remus, Tonks, and Teddy. Lily and James are there too. So is Regulus."
Juliet wrapped her arms around his waist, "They are gonebut not forgotten, honey. We arewho we are because of our struggles. Our losses make us stronger. We have all found each other, and we are all alive. I can't see anything special in this mirror, but I know those in the room would be what I see."

Climbing out of the car, Hermione looked at Harry over the car roof, "Are you going to tell me where we are going yet?"
"Just wait a bit more," Harry said, pulling their suitcase out of the boot, "Thanks, Mum."
"You two have fun!" Juliet said as they shut the door, and she drove off.
When they entered the airport, they went to get in line to check-in. "Where exactly are we going?"
Harry put his arm around her shoulders as he handed their travel documents to the attendant. "You'll see soon enough," he said.
After being checked in, Hermione glanced at the tag on their bag, "Majorca? Why Majorca?"
Harry shrugged, "Aunt Petunia's friends used to holiday there. They'd always go on about it like it was the fanciest place in the world. I just thought it would be nice for us. Have a honeymoon down, or maybe call it a babymoon before you can't fly anymore."
Hermione smiled, "That is so sweet. " She touched his cheek. "We didn't get a chance to have a proper honeymoon, did we?"
Harry shook his head, "Nope, and I'm not about to forget about it. Especially when it's one of the last times we'll be traveling just the two of us for a while."
Hermione hugged him, "Majorca sounds perfect."
After a short wait, they boarded their plane, and she dozed off against Harry's shoulder. As they arrived in Majorca, Hermione sighed in relief at the warmth in the air. Their car took them through the winding roads to their hotel.
Stepping into their suite at their hotel, Hermione gasped. Their suite was intimate, and walking over to the balcony doors, she saw it overlooked the beach, and the sea gently crashed into it. When they opened the doors to the sounds of the ocean. In the middle of the room sat a large bed with white linens and roses scattered around the door.
"Harry," Hermione whispered as tears came to her eyes, "You did all this for us?"
He wrapped his arms around her, "I may have called in a few favours, and Luna said I'd get extra good luck if I filled the room with flowers."
Hermione grinned as she turned and placed her arms around his neck, "I don't think you need good luck, Mr. Potter."
Harry grinned as she took one finger and pushed him backward to the king-sized bed. His legs hit the bed and toppled backward. Harry sat up, grabbed the bottom of her shirt, and unbuttoned it. Her belly caught a bit of sun, and Hermione pushed his hands away and started to move away from him.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Harry asked, grabbing her hand.
"Turning off the lights," Hermione told him.
"Why?" Harry asked, confused.
Hermione bit her lip, "I have stretch marks now."
Harry smiled, "And they look beautiful on you. It's nothing bad. They are marks that your body is beautifully amazing and is carrying our child."
Hermione's eyes brimmed with tears, "Oh, Harry."
Slowly, Harry undressed her, his hands skimming over her skin with such tenderness. His lips found hers as her blouse fell from her body. Trailing kisses down her neck, then over her breasts and to her belly, where he whispered something her ears couldn't hear, and he kissed over where Jamie had just kicked.
Hermione gasped as his fingers found her nipples, teasing and playing before his mouth took one in his mouth. Hermione's back arched off the bed as pleasure shot through her body. His free hand trailed down her body, over the curve of her belly, and her legs naturally fell apart for him where he found her wet already for him. Hermione cried out as a finger, then another, slid inside her, making her moan andthen gasp as his fingers hit that magical spot within her that made her eyes roll back as her orgasm rippled through her body.
Giving her a moment to catch her breath, Harry removed his clothes. His penis isstanding at attention, hard and ready. Hermione smiled as he returned to the bed, wrapping her hand around himandstroking him.
Harry groaned into her shoulder, "It's going to be short if you keep that up."
"I'm so fucking sensitive that I'm going to cum so fast again at this point," Hermione told him as he flicked her clit again, and she put her leg around his hips as she guided him into her.
Harry set a steady pace, his thrusts deep, and Hermione met him thrust for thrust. The room filled with moans and grunts as Hermione felt her second orgasm quickly building. Harry must have felt it and paused to change theangles of his thrusts. He was hitting the spot inside her, making her see stars andstealing her breath away. One, two, three thrusts were all it took to trigger an even more powerful orgasm than the first. Groaning, he twitched and followed behind her.
Harry quickly rolled off her onto his back as they both panted, attempting to catch their breath.
"Fuck, I love you," Hermione said, reaching for his hand.
Harry covered her hand with his, "I love you too."
"Shit, I need to get up and take a shower, but I don't think my legs would support me," Hermione stated, rolling onto her side to lay on his chest.
"Well, since you can't use the jacuzzi on the balcony, how about we take a nice bath together?" Harry suggested as he ran his fingers up and down her arm.
Hermione looked up at him, "Keep me awake?"
Harry smiled as he kissed her, "Of course."
*~*~* May 5, 2008 (Twenty-Eight Weeks Along) *~*~*
Hermione sighed as the golden light of the sunrise spilled into the roomacross her face. Opening her eyes, the entire room was cast in the sunrise's glow. Smiling, Hermione stretched and leaned over to kiss Harry, whose eyes fluttered open.
"Morning," Harry mumbled, his voice thick with sleep.
"Ready for our first full day in paradise?" Hermione asked.
Harry stretched, his joints popping, "Are YOU ready?"
Hermione grinned, "Absolutely, I can't believe you planned all this."
Harry pulled her close to him with a yawn, "I thought we'd start with a swim. Just us and the Mediterranean Sea."
"Sounds amazing," Hermione said as her stomach rumbled, "Maybe some food first."
The morning air was cool against Hermione's skin, and the sun warmed it as they strolled hand in hand down to the beach's clear water.
"Look how clean it is," Hermione said in disbelief as they set their stuff on the beach. Harry pulled off his shirt as Hermione messed with the bottom of her cover-up. With a deep breath, Hermione pulled it over her head and threw it onto the sand. Taking her hand, Harry led her to the cool, turquoise water.
Hermione gasped as the cool water lapped at her feet.
"It's cooler than I thought it would be," Harry stated as they walked out further, and the waves lapped around their legs.
Pulling her close, he smiled, "I can see why Aunt Petunia was always so jealous of her friends."
Hermione laughed andthen gasped as he splashed her. She spluttered as water made it onto her face and mouth, "Harry!"
He smirked, pushing a stray piece of hair behind his ear, "I couldn't resist."
An hour later, after spending the entire time in the water swimming and floating, Hermione lay back on the warm sand, watching the clouds drift across the sky. The beach was still quiet, as it was yet to be busy. Hermione breathed out, relaxing.
"That cloud looks like a pig."
Opening her eyes, she looked where Harry was pointing. "See the curly tail?" Harry asked, "It could have been Dudley."
Hermione frowned, "That's rude."
Harry laughed, "I never told you that story. When Hagrid finally found me to give me my letter, Vernon had us on this tiny island in the middle of the sea. Hagrid brought me a cake, and Dudley tried to eat it when he was distracted, telling me everything. He also used his umbrella to give Dudley a tail. He said he was trying to turn him into a pig, but he was too close to one already at the time."
Hermione snorted, "No wonder the Dursleys were so scared of magic."
After lunch, they took a short trip on the island's vintage train, the Soller Railway. The historic train took riders from Palma to the beautiful town of Soller. As the train rumbled down the tracks, with breathtaking views of olive groves, orange orchards, and the mountains, Hermione rubbed her belly, and Harry placed his hand over hers. "Is he awake?"
Hermione shook her head, "No, occasionally a light roll, but I believe he's asleep."
Harry laced his fingers with hers, "Have I told you today that you look absolutely radiant?"
She smiled, squeezing his hand, "I feel so damn lucky. I never thought I'd get the chance to be with you, be pregnant, or be on a second honeymoon. Sometimes I think I am in a dream."
Harry chuckled, "I won't let you sleep through life. I'll always be here to make sure your dreams come true."
After reaching Soller, they spent the afternoon wandering through the cobblestoned streets, enjoying the old buildings and stopping at a small café for an afternoon snack of Spanish pastries. Browsing stalls at the markets, hand in hand, they found some gifts for various members of their family. Hermione modelled a straw hat and asked Harry, "How do I look?"
"Amazing as always," Harry said, pulling out his phone to take a picture of her.
Hermione came to his side and moved her hand to take a picture of them together. Kissing his cheek, Harry took a photo of them. "We're so hot, " he told her, making her giggle.
*~*~* May 9, 2008 (Twenty-Nine Weeks Along) *~*~*
Hermione yawned as Harry opened the door for them to the house, "I just want to curl up in our bed and sleep the rest of the day away."
Swift walked into the room, "Welcome home, Harry and Hermione. How was your honeymoon?"
"Wonderful," Harry said as Hermione walked into the sitting room and paused, seeing boxes stacked.
"What's all this?" Hermione asked, confused.
"All your mail had been forwarded to your offices, but they ran out of room, so they had to send the non-threatening mail and gifts here," Swift stated, "Holly is upstairs in your office with the other part of it. Sorting it into worthy to read, nonsense, and gifts."
Hermione looked at him, surprised, "Wait, this is only part of it?"
Swift laughed, "Yes, Hermione, the book sold out. Miss Luna came over to get more clothes for Teddy and told me that her father had to purchase anew printing press, which may not be enough with all their orders."
Hermione looked at Harry in disbelief as he laughed and hugged her. "Oh my God, Harry!"
Harry picked her up, "See, people wanted to know the truth!"
"Also, there have been protests in front of the Daily Prophet offices for Rita to be fired," Swift told them with a smile.
Holly smiled, coming down the stairs, "Of the mail I have gone through, it is mostly positive and in disbelief that after all you two have gone through, people would still be so awful to you both."
Hermione laid her head on Harry's shoulder, "I can't believe it. I really can't believe it!"
A/n: So the final chapter of Enchanted has been written. I am working on the epilogue. During Christmas break, I plan to hammer out the sequel. It will be short. It will only encompass seven days of an event, so I hope to finish it during my two weeks off. Enchanted will be posted through January 11th.

Harry went to get up, and Hermione laid her hand on his arm. "No, I'll go. I need to walk around anyway. My back is hurting."
When Hermione stood up, she walked two steps, and a pain rippled through her abdomen into her back. "Oh!" she exclaimed, clutching her belly.
Harry was at her side instantly, "What's wrong?"
Slowly, Hermione straightened up, "It was weird. It was tightening, but it was painful."
"Was it like a cramp?" Angelina asked, walking over to her.
"A bit," Hermione said as it happened again, and she grabbed Harry, "Oh fuck! Not again."
"What do you want me to do?" Harry asked, rubbing her back.
"Alicia. Get Alicia," Hermione gasped out.
