Danny groggily woke up on Saturday morning. He was still tired from the training he did with All Might. The retired hero wanted Danny to work on his stamina while wearing the Ring of Rage so that he could handle the power for longer amounts of time. Danny understood why he was doing this, but it still took a lot out of him.
Danny also knew that he needed to get up since everyone was meeting up to work on the band event for the school festival, since Bakugo and Shoto didn't have extra training today.
He met up with Momo, Bakugo, Jiro, Tokoyami, and Kaminari to start their jam session, as Jiro called it. Bakugo wanted them all to murder the crowd with murder, which made Danny chuckle under his breath.
The special effects team worked on their stuff to come up with some ideas for the show.
Mina was outside with the dance crew working on choreography. She shouted, "Loosen up, Midoriya! You've got to be more precise, but flexible! Just because it's called a lock doesn't mean you should be so rigid. So get that body moving! And then end with a pop!"
She demonstrated a move for the team, and the dance team copied the move.
What nobody knew was that Mirio was watching from the bushes. "Looks like nobody has noticed me yet. I'll swoop in and hit them with a can't miss gag that'll crack them up before they know what's what.
Izuku spotted Mirio, "Oh, hey, Togata!"
Mirio frowned and hid in the bushes. Jazz walked up with Eri, "Mirio, stop being weird. We're here for a reason, you know."
Izuku, Ochaco, and Tsuyu smiled, "Eri!" They ran up to Eri and Jazz while Mirio hid in the bushes.
Oijiro noticed, "Wait, don't tell me you've got a secret kid!"
Tsuyu said, "That dress looks great on you, Eri."
Ochaco beamed, "You are precious!"
Aizawa walked up, "Finally got permission from the principal. In order to avoid additional stress, we're letting Eri explore the campus before the festival."
Tenya walked up, "Hello, you must be Eri, from the work study. Very nice to meet you. I'm Iida."
Eri hid behind Jazz, who said, "Eri's kind of shy."
Tenya replied, "That's perfectly OK. Oh, and who are you?"
Jazz smiled, "I'm Jasmine Fenton, but everyone calls me Jazz."
Mina shouted, "You're Danny's sister?! That's awesome."
Jazz chuckled, "I guess it is. Is my brother around?"
Mina replied, "He's inside practicing with the band. I'll go get him." She ran inside to get Danny.
Mirio climbed out of the bushes and brushed the leaves off of him.
Danny opened the door and saw Eri and Jazz. He ran over, "Hey, sis. Hello, Eri."
Eri mumbled, "Hello, Danny Phantom."
Mirio said, "Let's start the tour. I wanna show her as much of the school as I can so she knows what we do here. Do you two wanna come, Midoriya, Fenton?"
Izuku nodded, "Yes!"
Danny added, "Absolutely. I can even show off our school to my sister."
Kirishima came outside, "Dance team! New idea." He noticed Eri and walked over, "Oh, it's Eri. Oh, wait, we were never actually introduced, were we? And who's this hot redhead with her?"
Danny smacked Kirishima in the back of the head, "That's my sister, idiot. Watch it."
Kirishima groaned as Mina shouted, "OK, crew, why don't we grab a little break. It's teatime!"
Danny and Izuku quickly changed into their uniforms and joined Mirio and Jazz to show Eri around the school. Mirio said, "It may be a weekend day, but since the students here live in the dorms, there are still a ton of people running around campus helping to prepare the festival."
Jazz commented, "Wow, every class seems to be putting in a lot of effort for this school festival. We really don't have things like this at schools in America."
Danny added, "I think homecoming and prom were more important."
Izuku said, "Everyone's super busy even though it's still a month away."
Mirio nodded, "Of course, you gotta try and outdo last year. And it takes a lot of work to pull off something Plus Ultra."
Suddenly a dragon head popped in front of them. Tetsutetsu from Class 1-B said, "Sorry! Hey. It's Midoriya and Fenton from Class A!"
Monoma came out, "Why am I not surprised, huh? You two are walking around like you've got nothing to do while we're hustling."
Jazz knelt down to Eri, "Are you OK?"
Eri replied, "I thought it was that dragon from before."
Jazz was confused, but Danny clarified, "Oh, you mean Ryukyu."
Monoma continued, "So you two are just going to ignore me? Talk about rude. I heard Class A is doing a concert or something for us. That's so cute. But to put it bluntly, Class B's stellar performance is gonna make you wish you hadn't even shown up. We're doing Romeo and Juliet and the Prisoner of Azkaban: The Return of the King. It's a completely original play written by us. A super spectacular fantasy epic!"
"Or you guys just mashing three movies together," Danny muttered.
Monoma continued, "You should make sure you come prepared. Bring a hankie to wipe the tears from your eyes when you realize how superior we are!" He starts cackling like crazy.
Jazz stared right at Monoma, "You should calm down."
He instantly calmed down, thanks to her Quirk, before Awase knocked Monoma out with a stick.
Izuku sighed, "He's even nastier than usual today."
Awase replied, "Yeah, sorry about that, guys. Kendo isn't around, so there's no one to keep him in line."
Jazz was confused, so Danny whispered to her, "She knocks him out with her hand."
Izuku looked around, "That's weird, the two of them typically show up as a set."
Awase replied, "Well, she's off prepping for the beauty pageant right now, so. It's kinda funny. She didn't even mean to enter."
Awase picked Monoma up and carried him away while Tetsutetsu said, "Monoma is still right, though. We're pulling out all the stops." He walked after Awase.
Mirio turned to Eri, "Sorry about that, Eri. UA's great, but every place has its downside, I guess."
Jazz sighed, "You don't say. And I thought Casper High had its issues."
Izuku said, "Mr. Aizawa didn't say anything about there being a beauty pageant."
Mirio replied, "Well, it's too late to enter. But you know who's gunning really hard to win it this time? Last year's runner up. The Big Three's best girl, Nejire Hado."
Mirio led the group to where Nejire was. She saw them and immediately went over and said, "Hey, hey! What's Eri doing here? Hey, girl. Why ya here? For funsies?"
Some of her male classmates were picking out outfits for her, trying to find something cute instead of sexy, as that cost her the trophy last year.
Izuku tried to avoid looking at Nejire and said, "You've got a flashy Quirk and you're so nice! And your body's so…..bou…."
Danny sighed, "He means balanced." Jazz smiled at her little brother, glad that he wasn't being inappropriate with the third year student.
Izuku continued, "But even with all that, you were only runner up?"
Nejire explained, "Yeah, listen to this. Are you listening? Every year, I lose to the same girl. She's just too amazing. The beauty pageant queen, Bibimi Kenranzaki, from support course 3-G."
Amajiki walked up, "This year's pageant is stacked. Kendo gained some underground fans thanks to that commercial, so she's a real contender. And of course, Hado won't be holding back. Just thinking about performing in front of all those people, it sounds like a nightmare. Imagining it makes me nauseous." He knelt to the ground, holding his stomach.
Jazz walked over to him, "No need to be like that. Just try and stay positive." She used some of her Quirk to get Amajiki in a better mood."
Nejire asked, "Hey, hey! Who's this?"
Danny explained, "This is my older sister, Jazz. She's a college student studying psychology, which helps her Quirk, Empath. She's doing a work study to help Eri."
Neijire beamed, "Aww, brother and sister, how cute! Anyway, at first, the only reason I entered was because Yuyu told me to (he is one of the male students helping her), but turns out, it's lots of fun! I wanna crush it. That's why, this year, I'll definitely come in first! It's my last chance."
Mirio said, "You can do it."
Jazz added, "That's good positivity."
The group moved onto the support studio. Mirio explained, "All the grades are working together to put on an extra awesome exhibition of their work!"
Izuku smiled, "I can't wait to see. I hear it's a highlight every year."
Suddenly, Mei Hatsume appeared behind Izuku, "Yes. The school festival is the support course's time to shine!"
Izuku gasped, "Hatsume! Wait." He looked up to see a giant mecha behind her.
Jazz whispered to Danny, "Kinda reminds me of the one Dad built." Danny nodded in agreement.
Hatsume explained, "That's my super cute baby number 202."
Danny commented, "You seem to have a lot of grease on you."
Hatsume chuckled, "Ha! I'm filthy, but I can't waste time bathing."
Mirio replied, "That's dedication."
Hatsume continued, "Even though we showed off some items at the sports festival, we took a backseat to the heroes. But, this time the contraptions we've come up with will be given the spotlight they deserve! Which means lots of big companies and buyers can get up close and personal with my work. I need to make sure they're perfect so they don't embarrass me! How did the iron soles work out for you, Midoriya? If there's anything else you need, let me know."
Before Izuku could reply, her mecha caught on fire. Danny said, "OK, I think we should move on."
Mirio finished up the tour and brought the group to the cafeteria. He said, "Welp, that's pretty much all of UA."
Izuku asked, "So, what do you think about our school, Eri?"
Eri muttered, "I'm not sure. But, I can see how hard everyone is working on the festival, and I do wanna know how it turns out."
Jazz smiled, "That's good to hear."
Suddenly they heard Principal Nezu over at the next table from where they were sitting, along with Midnight. Nezu said, "It sounds like our special visitor is getting excited. It seems like we made the right choice. Know what? I'm excited for everything, too. I love seeing so many students joining together and having fun, all in hopes that their peers will have a good time."
Midnight sighed, "Now, if we could just get the police to understand that."
Nezu said, "Now, now, Kayama. Anyway, I hope your hearts burst with happiness when the day rolls around." He got up and walked away.
Midnight explained, "I'll spare you all the gory details, but the principal fought hard for you. As a result, security will be heavier than in past years. Just know. If an alarm sounds, even if it's a false one, we'll have to shut down and evacuate. Those were the terms the police agreed upon."
Danny commented, "That's strict."
Midnight continued, "Of course, to keep that from happening, we're also beefing up our defensive measures. We even let Hound Dog off his leash to patrol."
Izuku was shocked, "You did?"
Midnight continued, "Oh, yeah. Did you know Class A's performance is causing quite a stir in the faculty lounge? You'd better make it pleasurable."
Danny smiled, "Don't worry, we will."
Izuku added, "You can count on us."
Midnight walked away.
Eri asked, "Deku, Danny Phantom, what performance?"
Izuku explained, "We're doing a live concert. I'm on the dance team. Danny's in the band playing guitar and singing."
Jazz looked over at her brother, "Oh, really?"
Danny chuckled nervously, then said, "We're going to do our best to make it fun for you and everybody else. So be sure you come and watch."
Izuku said, "Our break is almost over. We have to go."
Jazz got up and hugged Danny, "Take care, little brother."
Mirio said, "OK! Just so you know, I'm looking forward to seeing you guys, too!"
A week later, Mina came to Izuku with bad news, "You're fired from the dance team. Oops, maybe that sounded a little harsh. You've been scouted by another team. You'll be on special effects now."
Izuku asked, "It has to be me? I already told Eri that I'd be dancing."
Mina explained, "They want to make it so Aoyama's swung around enough that the whole room's lit up!"
Izuku replied, "I'm pretty sure everyone's gonna be able to see him."
Mina explained, "But we don't have a fly system in the gym, so they want someone with a power Quirk to move him by hand."
Aoyama added, "At the beginning of the performance, I shall transform from a dancer into a disco ball. It's the perfect job for moi. Say you'll help us!"
Izuku asked, "Why not Danny? He can fly and is strong enough to pull Aoyama around."
Kirishima walked over, "He's one of the band members, they will have most of the attention. Besides, Danny will be too busy singing and playing guitar."
Meanwhile, Danny just walked into the room, looking for Izuku. He had overheard what was going on. He walked over, "Guys, I can do it. Keep Izuku on the dance team."
Everyone turned to see Danny. Kirishima explained, "But Danny, you'll,"
Danny interrupted, "You guys know that I can create clones of myself, right? I can still perform on stage while one of my clones flies Yuga around."
The special effects team sighed. Clearly they forgot about that.
Danny turned to Izuku, "There you go. You can still dance, just like you promised Eri. Now, come on. We have to go."
They had to meet up with All Might for secret training. Danny had to work on building up his stamina in order to withstand the power of the Ring of Rage. Izuku had to work on shooting his power with his fingers. That wasn't going so well.
All Might commented, "It's still hard for you to shoot consecutively or while moving around. That'll be a nasty bruise. Here, you can ice it with this." He handed Izuku a cold towel. "And Danny, you seem to be improving your stamina. You've more than doubled the time since you first wore the Ring. Nice work."
Phantom took off the ring and sighed, "Thanks, it's still draining, though."
Izuku said, "Thank you for the ice pack. I'm trying to exercise so much more control than I've had in the past. Is there a trick to it or something that I might be missing?"
All Might replied, "No idea." Both boys groaned.
All Might continued, "To be honest, I was able to use 100 percent of One For All pretty much right away. I can only reiterate the advice I gave you in the beginning. To create an image in your mind. The egg, remember? Keep working and focus on how it feels when you're successful. I think all you can do is repeat those steps." He then coughed out blood.
Phantom replied, "You really should get that checked out, dude."
Izuku sighed, "I just wanna be able to hold my own in a fight. And not rely on others so much. Danny, I only won that fight against Chisaki because of Eri, and because of you. I want to prove to both you and All Might that I can become my own hero!"
All Might was shocked, "Midoriya…"
Phantom put his hand on Izuku's shoulder, "Dude, I get it. You have the power to become your own hero. You just have to believe in yourself. OK?
Izuku nodded, then powered up to try the attack, but suddenly All Might held out his hand and caught a flying device. Phantom was impressed.
Mei appeared out of nowhere, "Whoopsie! But nice catch! Sorry, I sometimes test….."
All Might handed her back the device, "Don't worry about it."
Meri smiled, "Thanks for snagging it. This sweetie's a mini third eye I'm working on. Oh yeah, Midoriya. About that new item you asked me for the other day. I had a baby that could do something similar, so I'm rejiggering it right now. Once the application goes through, I'll get it to you right away!"
Izuku said, "Hold on. I thought you needed to wait until after the school festival…."
Mei interrupted, "Please, every artist tinkers when they're on a break. And since I've got a base already, it'll be done soon!"
Izuku smiled, "Oh, wow. Thanks. You're the greatest!"
Mei's device flew out of her hand and flew off. She ran after it.
Phantom chuckled, "That girl definitely has a one track mind."
All Might asked, "A new item, huh?"
Izuku nodded, "Yup. There's something I think could help harness this wind pressure move."
All Might replied, "Huh, I see. I tried something like that in the past, too."
Izuku and Phantom were shocked. Izuku asked, "All Might, you used a support item? How did I not know this?"
All Might sighed, "It was too bulky to be functional, even though it was designed to use with only 20-30 percent of my power. It would've been fine if I used mid to long range attacks for the most part, but since I was more of a short range brawler, I kept breaking it." He suddenly buffed into his hero form. "I got rid of the tech and carried on with nothing but my own strapping body!"
Phantom chuckled, "Haven't seen that form in a while."
All Might returned to normal and coughed up some blood, "That said, reinforcing your power with new gear could be smart. Just make sure you don't rely on it too much. Some people aren't able to hold their own after losing an item. I've seen way too many heroes fall into that trap."
Phantom added, "I had to use something similar to what Mei showed off the other day to beat the previous Ghost King. Only used it once, though. Some support items are too much."
Izuku nodded, "Right."
All Might smiled, "Now, back to training."
Later that night, Class 1-A was winding down after practicing for the school event. Bakugo was chastising Kaminari for rushing his guitar playing over his drumming. Kaminari argued that Bakugo kept bringing in new breakdowns.
Momo made tea for everyone as her mom sent her a rare type, Gold Tips Imperial. "Everyone grab a cup if you wanna try it!"
Danny grabbed a cup and took a sip, "Tastes good, Momo."
Ochaco grabbed a cup and walked over to Izuku, "Hey, Deku, aren't you gonna try some of Momo's yummy tea?"
But Izuku was muttering to himself, trying to find a video showing All Might wearing support gear.
Danny walked over, "Ochaco, he's deep in nerd mode. It'll be hard to get his attention."
Izuku accidentally pushed play on the wrong video, and it was one of Gentle Criminal's videos that he uploaded. He was talking about a brand of tea he was drinking. They could hear a female's voice in the background complimenting the criminal. The video was really short.
"It was Gentle," Izuku said.
"Is he famous?" Ochaco asked. "People don't seem to like him very much."
Izuku answered, "I only kind of know who he is. He's a villain who's known for causing trouble and recording it. It's kind of nuts that he's been putting out videos for years now and hasn't been caught yet. I wonder what he's planning next."
Danny said, "If he is planning something big, hopefully the pros will finally catch him."
Elsewhere, Gentle Criminal was talking with La Brava, "Recently, heroes have begun to fall out of favor with the public. Their feckless actions have bred distrust from the masses. It's obvious these so-called do-gooders are ill-prepared for complications. They don't seem to comprehend the crisis they're in. If they did, they wouldn't dream of putting on a school festival in these most harrowing of times."
La Brava replied, "Yeah, but Gentle, I don't know how I feel about involving these innocent children in all of this, you know?"
Gentle laughed, "My dear, this scheme of mine is merely a wake up call. Following my masterful incursion, the future heroes will be encouraged to grow stronger!"
La Brava asked, "Your plan is going to inspire youthful minds? You're so cool, Gentle!"
Gentle said, "Now, let us go over the route we'll take to invade. Open the Criminal Folder!" He tried, but was having a hard time, so La Brava had to show him as she was more of a computer expert. "This path has the fewest number of hero agencies and the least traffic. At 5:00 the morning of, we will make for a side road here."
La Bava asked, "Why not just use your Quirk instead?"
Gentle answered, "It would be unwise given there are heroes who patrol the skies. After a jaunt, we'll stroll through a lovely park. Once we're on the other side, we'll almost be there. If we move carefully to avoid drawing attention, it should take us 60-65 minutes at most. And then, I'm delighted by this part. See this old house standing in the shadow of a hardware store? It's actually a charming cafe."
La Brave asked, "You're not going to have your tea outside, as usual? That's risky!"
Gentle explained, "The owner is passing 70 and barely managing to keep his business open. It's a shame. No one notices that it's anything more than an old home and there are only 5-6 regulars. But, La Brave, there is no question. I must drink there. Because this cafe carries the most lauded of tea leaves. The elusive Gold Tips Imperial! Don't you think it's fitting for the grand caper we're about to pull off?"
"Of course," La Brava replied.
Gentle continued, "And because of the owner's advanced age, it opens early, at 7 AM. We can enjoy 90 minutes of teatime if we get there when the doors open."
La Brave commented, "This is way more research than you usually do."
Gentle continued, "After that, we go back to the side street and past the construction site where we'll find a slightly sloping mountain surrounded by forest. Once we climb that, we will arrive at UA. Most likely, we'll have to deal with Hound Dog, who excels at sniffing out intruders. Once we get to the forest, we must rub dirt and leaves all over our bodies to hide our scent from the mongrel. And as for the school. There is a censored security system called the UA barrier that's nigh impenetrable and covers the entirety of the campus."
La Brave replied, "And that's where my job comes in, right, Gentle? I'll infiltrate UA's internal network and secretly disable the sensors. Because, not to brag, but I'm a highly skilled master hacker! But I have a question. Do you think any of the students would be on high alert and help patrol?"
Gentle said, "I thought of that. But I believe they will all be focused on the festival. Even the one called Phantom, the winner of the sports festival and who fought with All Might. He along with his classmates will be too distracted to notice."
La Brave replied, "Plus, he's no match for my hacking skills!"
Gentle sighed, "I truly have the most wonderful partner imaginable. My dear, I am forever grateful to have you at my side. I do mean it. When I first began, I learned how to upload my videos. But technology eludes me. Alas, there were few views, and the comments were harsh. When you came into my life, that signaled the end of my melancholy days. It was you! My first admirer. To be honest, I had my misgivings. I was terrified that I was being too careless. But then, when we began plotting, recording, and editing as one, and views on my videos began to increase. La Brava. I am betting my soul and my prized moustache on this audacious festival scheme! For the world, for society, for my courageous dream, and to honor the feelings you have for me."
La Brava started to cry and hugged Gentle, "Oh! I love you, my Gentle Criminal!"
Gentle smiled, "And I love you, too, my darling girl. I'll make certain nothing stops me. No matter what. We will succeed."
