A/N: This chapter is mainly following the show when the ritual happens but the changes are my twists.

Chapter 1

Tuesday April 27, 2010

A car pulled up to the driveway of a two story white house that had a wrap-around porch. It was close to mid night and everyone was sleeping. Getting out of the car was a 5' 9", brown haired, green eyes, light olive skinned, and slim athletic build girl. She was wearing black converse, black shorts, and a too large plaid button up shirt. She sighed as she got out of her car and went to the front door. She got the house key out of her back pocket and opened the door before heading inside. She made sure to be as quiet as possible as she made her way to her room only to find that it was locked. With furrow brows she made her way to Elena's room, hoping that the girl was still up and awaiting her arrival. Beau sighed as she walked into the room only to find it empty. Walking to the bed that held a small present box tied in a black, one of her favorite colors, silk ribbon that was on top of a note.

Dear Beau,

Beau looked at her nickname and gave a small smile. She remembered the first time she heard the name from her father's mouth and was instantly taken tot he name-more so than her normal Bella, Bell, and Bells nicknames that her parents and some of her childhood friends would call her.

I was going to give you this when you finally arrived though I figured you would come after I was already gone.

That line made Beau's brows furrow wonder what her sister meant by the fact that she was gone.

I want you to put it on right away, it would make be happy knowing that you would wear my gift. I have to apologize for my sudden departure just after calling you. I know it's a shock but just know that I need this. Don't worry though, I'll be back on the weekend and we can spend time together.

I am happy that you're home though.

Just... be happy and wait for me.

Until I get back you can stay in my room, we kind of list the key to your a while ago. Sorry about that. That alst means that you have to wear my clothing seeing as your's are locked in your room.

Love, Elena

Beau didn't like the feeling that was getting from just reading the note. She put the note back on the bed slowly before tugging the ribbon off the box and tying it around her wrist then lifted the lid off the box. Inside the box was a charm bracelet with: a black crystal charm, a red crystal charm, a blue crystal charm, a purple crystal charm, a wolf charm, a book charm, a mermaid charm, a dragon charm, a tiger charm, a fox charm, and a moon charm. Beau didn't understand the feeling that settled in her bones at the sight of the charm bracelet that held all her favorite things and colors. Placing the lid back on the box Beau gave a shuddering sigh and sat on the bed looking around the room.

She couldn't Identify the feeling that coursed through her. The uneasiness and dread that settled into her core. Did she really want to do what her little sister wanted? She wondered why she felt like she just jumped into a Storm blind.

She took the lid off the box again with a sigh and took the bracelet out, if it were any other time she had been given this gift she would've put it on right away, she couldn't understand her hesitation. Before she could hesitate any longer she quickly fastened the bracelet onto her left wrist.

Though before she could breath a sigh and think she was being silly, she passed out in the bed.

Wednesday April 28, 2010

In the early morning she was woken by a shout from Jenna.

When she passed out memories had rushed through her mind. Starting from when she was a baby though when she first heard her name she realized that they weren't her memories, they were Elena's. She had gotten every memory, thought, and feeling that Elena's felt in her entire life up until earlier the day before when she met with Bonnie and discussed how they were going to keep her alive before Elena left the old witch house. Though that last memory set off red flags for Beau. The memory started when it was at least two hours after Elena finished talking with Elijah about the curse and she wanted to plan something in case Bonnie failed. It was like something was missing, cut out, or fabricated from and or in the memory.

"Elena!" Jenna shouted again, sounding a little bit frantic and desperate.

"Yeah, Jenna?!" Came the automatic reply from Beau's mouth as she got up off the bed and started putting on clothes from the drawer.

Beau's mind paused as she registered that she replied to being called Elena though her body don't pause in it's movement.

The uneasy and dreadful feeling came back as she walked out of the room and went downstairs where Jenna and Stefan were waiting at the front door. They looked at her confused.

"What are you doing here? Klaus is out there somewhere and you sneak out of the boarding house." Jenna said as she wrapped her arms around Beau before they headed out the door and towards the car.

"I'm sorry, Aunt Jenna. I had gotten a lot of information yesterday and got a little overwhelmed. He's not invited in here so I thought I would be safe. I didn't mean to worry you or you, Stefan." Beau stated automatically as she walked out og Jenna's arms and into Stefan's. This made her cringe mentally.

She was wondering what was happening because she didn't really get enough time to process the memories that invaded her dreams when she passed out. Now she was somehow pretending to be Elena, Jenna and Stefan didn't seem to see that she wasn't Elena which means that she looked like her and wanted to know why.

They were at the Salvatore Boarding house. Beau was sitting on the couch in the library while Stefan was in the chair next to her. Elijah was in front of them.

"Tonight is the full moon. We should assume that Klaus is prepared to break the curse." Elijah stated.

"Elena said that the Sun and Moon Curse is fake?" That it's actually just a curse placed on Klaus." Stefan stated/asked Elijah.

"Klaus is a vampire born of a Werewolf bloodline. The curse has kept his werewolf aspect from manifesting. But if he breaks it...he'll be a true hybrid." Elijah stated.

Beau nodded her head with a weary sigh while Damon walked in.

"Then why are we letting him break the curse? We can kill him today, with Bonnie." Damon asked/said snidely.

"Damon..." Stefan started to say but was interrupted by Beau.

"No. Bonnie can't use that much power without dying."

"I'll write her a great eulogy." Damon sniped.

"It's not an option, Damon." Beau snapped at Damon making the vampire glare at her and shake his head slightly. Though he went to stand by the fireplace.

"Alright, how do we break this curse?" Stefan asked.

"Well, the ritual itself is relatively straightforward. The ingredients, so to speak, you already know. The Moonstone: a witch will channel the power of the full moon to release the spell that's bound within the stone. After that, Klaus, being both werewolf and vampire, will sacrifice one of each."

"And where do I fit into it?" Beau asked, startled by her own question though it didn't show. The feeling that she's been feeling since coming to Mystic Falls became even greater.

Especially so when she was hit with a memory of Isobel telling Elena that she was her twin and thinking: Usually twins are the same species when born to the same parents even though they mat not look Identical. That Beau must also be a doppelganger and a loophole if they weren't identical. Which they weren't, if their first encounter the summer after Grayson and Miranda died was anything to go by.

Beau wanted to cry though couldn't because of whatever was happening to her.

"The final part of the Ritual." Elijah stated as he grabbed an elegantly designed box from the bookshelf that was behind him before turning back to them. "Klaus must drink the blood of the doppelganger...to the point of your death." He said while placing the box on the desk next to him.

At that Stefan grabbed Beau's hand and rubbed his eyebrow while Beau sighed before stating:

"And that's where you come in."

Elijah opened the box and pulled out a bottle while saying, "This is an elixir that I acquired some five hundred years ago for Katerina. It possesses mystical properties of resuscitation."

"So I'll be dead..." Beaus started to say but was interrupted by the Original.

"And then you wont."

"That's your plan? A magical witch potion with no expiration date?" Damon asked looking at Elijah before turning to Beau. "You want to come back to life, what...what about John's ring?"

"Those rings only work on humans. The doppelganger's a supernatural occurrence. Odds are...the ring won't work, Elena."

"Wha-" Damon started to say as he looked at his brother who only shrugged before turning and walking out of the room with one last look at Beau.

Beau sighed as he walked away before asking:

"Do we know if Klaus has everything he needs to do this? Does he have a werewolf?" Beau asked Elijah.

"Klaus has been waiting to break this curse for over a thousand years. If he doesn't already have a werewolf, my guess id by tonight- he will."

While Stefan was talking to Damon, Beau was still in the library with Elijah.

"You'd think he'd understand why I'm willing to do this." She said after a sigh while picking up the elixir.

"Why are you?" Elijah asked.

"I;m the key to breaking the curse. Klaus is here because of me. I-if I don't stop him, then he's gonna hurt people. It's that simple."

"You know, there's a possibility this elixir wont work. I don't want to mislead you."

"I know the chance I'm taking." Beau stated.

"Get out." They heard Jenna say firmly after hearing the door slam shut.

"Jenna, Jenna!" Alaric called hastily, making Beau and Elijah look at each other slightly worried before heading to the foyer.

"Get out." Jenna said again.

"Jenna, put the cross-bow down, okay? It's me." Alaric said with his hands in the air.

"Stay away from me." Jenna said.

Beau, Stefan, and Damon made it to the two.

"What's going on?" Beau asked.

"It's me, Elena, I swear, okay? He let me go. Klaus let me go." Alaric said.

"Prove it." Damon said.

Alaric looked at Jenna.

"Okay, uh, first night you and I spent together, Jeremy walked in right when I was-" He stated when Jenna interrupted him.

"Okay, it's him." Jenna said which made him nod and her sigh.

"Why'd he let you go?" Stefan asked tight when Elijah walked towards them.

"He wanted me to deliver a message. The sacrifice happens tonight."

At that everyone looked at each other slightly uneasy and tense. They moved to the living room. Alaric and Jenna are sitting on opposite couches, Beau in the chair between the fireplace and Jenna's couch, Elijah leaning on Beau's chair, and Stefan walking between the couches.

"So you don't remember anything that happened?" Stefan asked Alaric.

"No. It's like I blacked out and woke up three days later. Katherine was there." Alaric stated.

"She's under compulsion." Stefan said with his arms crossed. "Damon snuck her some vervain but she can't leave until Klaus tells her she can."

"Where is Damon?" Beau asked.

"I saw him go upstairs." Jenna said.

With a huff Beau got up off the chair and started making her way upstairs.

"So what else did I Do?" Alaric asked.

Beau got to Damon's room and said as she entered it, "You disappeared."

"I don't want to hear anymore."

"I need you to understand why I'm doing this." Beau said as she walked towards him with her hands in her back pocket making Damon turn from the window to look at her.

"Why? It clearly doesn't matter what I think." He said walking to her.

"I'll be fine Damon." Beau stated. Though thought: Elena would be fine. She's not the one being sacrificed. "I'll drink the elixir, Bonnie will kill Klaus, and then all of this will finally be over." She said leaning on he bedpost.

"If it works."

"It will work."

"You think it will work. You want it to work. Why am I the only one who's convinced it wont? There has to be another way."

"There isn't." Beau said but thought: There is because the little selfish bastard switched placed with me, the loophole doppelganger.

Damon stepped closer to Beau.

"And you're going to die, Elena."

"And then I'll come back to life." Beau said walking closer to Damon.

"That is not a risk I am willing to take." Damon said as he pointed at her as well as stepping closer to her.

"But I am." Beau said as she clasped her hands around his hand that was between them. Because no matter what Elena will come back alive and human, I on the other hand will probably be dead. Damon looked at their joined hands while Beau sighed. "It's my life, Damon. My Choice." Though I'm not in control right now. Beau thought sadly.

"I can't lose you."

"You wont."

Beau started walking away with a sigh. Damon looked conflicted before vamping in front of her, startling her.

"There is another way." Damon said.

"What are you-" Beau started to say as she shook her head slightly.

Damon's vampire face came out and he bit into his right wrist.

Once Beau realized what he was doing she hastily said: "Damon, no! Damon, no!" Before he was forcing her to drink his blood.

She tried to push him away though as a vampire he was stronger. Stefan vamped into the room and threw Damon off her.

"What did you do? Huh? What did you do?" Stefan asked his brother hastily while Beau cried.

"I saved her life." Damon said. "You're so bent on dying, at least this way I know you'll come back."

"As a vampire! She'll come back as a vampire." Stefan said desperately.

"It's better than nothing else."

"How could you, of all people, take that choice away from her?" Stefan asked.

"No!" Beau cried with a gasp.

"Go ahead, wish me an eternity of misery. Believe me, you'll get over it."

Stefan vamped in front of Damon and threw him into the wall.

"Stefan!" Beau called.

Damon grabbed a piece of the chair he was thrown into and broke before vamping to Stefan and pushing him into the wall behind the younger brother with the broken piece of chair sideways against his throat.

"Admit it. You just wish you had the balls to do it yourself." Damon said.

Stefan growled and elbowed Damon in the side of the face and released himself from the wall. Stefan went to punch Damon but was blocked though he did get a few punched in before Damon fell to the ground. Before he could get punched again, Damon stabbed Stefan through the abdomen with the broken end of the wooden chair leg.

"Damon, no." Beau called Damon lifted his brother off the ground then placed him back on his feet. "No." Beau called as she got between them before catching Stefan as he fell to his knees. "Get out of here."

"What the hell's going on?" Alaric asked as he and Jenna entered the room.

"Oh my god." Jenna said to herself.

Alaric went to grab Damon though got his arm smacked away as Damon stood up.

"Okay, Jenna, downstairs in the basement are some blood bags." Alaric said as he pointed at her and Damon left the room. "Go get them, now. Go!"

Jenna rushed out of the room then Beau pulled the chair-stake out of Stefan's Abdomen. He groaned and grunted loudly as he fell head first into Beau's lap.

"It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. You're gonna be okay." Beau said softly as she held him.

"I'm so sorry." Stefan said with a small cry.

"Shh-h. It's okay."

"I'm sorry."

Alaric was watching over them until Jenna came back with a blood bag which Stefan quickly downed.

"Thank you." Stefan said. "Both of you."

"Yeah, well, we'll be downstairs." Alaric said before he and Jenna walked out of the room.

"How could he do that to me? Why?" Beau cried.

"We've never talked about this." Stefan said after a few minutes of silence as he stroked her cheek. "What this all means."

"It doesn't matter." Beau said with a shake of her head.

"Of course it matters. Hey. It matters." He said looking in her eyes. "I want you to go somewhere with me."

"Stefan, I can't."

"No, no, it's far, okay? It's just for the day. I promise.

Beau nodded her head with a sigh.

Beau and Stefan were walking in the woods before she asked:

"Where are we?"

"It's a surprise. Just a little bit longer."

"I'm not a vampire yet, you know. My legs still get tired."

"Ready to talk about how you're feeling about all this?"

"Uh...this morning I was wondering if I would live or die and now...I'm going to be a vampire. I...I don't really know how I'm feeling." Beau heard rushing water and saw that they were in front of a mini waterfall. "My god, this is beautiful."

There was a few seconds of silence before Stefan said:

"I think you do know how you're feeling. I just, I just want you to know that it's okay to tell me."

"I can't. Stefan, I just...I-I can't talk about it."

:Well, if you don't want to, that's your choice. Today's about you. But...it's a ling way to the top. Let's go. You never know what might come up."

Beau looked shocked as they started walking again and asked:

"We're climbing to the top?"

"Oh yeah."

"Well, can't you do one of your superpower vampire jumpy things?"

"No, it's your last day as a human." Stefan said as he held his hand out to her. "Why cheat now?"

Beau smiled as she shook her head and grabbed his hand. They started making their way up to the top of the mini falls.

They were walking across a bridge when Beau started talking:

"I guess Bonnie will have to make me a daylight ring."

"Yeah, piece of cake.

"And I'll never be able to watch 'Bambi' again."

"I definitely wouldn't recommend doing that."

"What's the best part about being a vampire?"

"You feel like you could do anything. Be anyone. Beautiful things are more beautiful. Everything's heightened, you just live more intensely, love more powerfully."

"And the worst?"

"Ah, you know the worst."

"Aside from the blood?"

"Anger becomes rage. When you're sad you're...in despair. Grief. Loss. It can cripple you. That's why so many of us turn out emotions off. It just becomes...too overwhelming. You know, fro a while, for me...the good just wasn't worth the bad."

"How long before you learned to handle both?"

"Well, I'm still trying. Everyday. What else?"

"Let's just keep going. We're not even halfway to the top."

The evening sun was in the sky as they reached the top, it was starting to get dark.

"We made it! Ahh." Beau said with a slight groan.

"That's nothing, if you've climbed Mount Everest." Stefan said with a smirk as he helped her the rest of the way.

"Nobody likes a bragger, Stefan." Beau stated with a smile before looking out over the forest from the waterfall. "Oh, wow."

"Yeah." Stefan said with a sigh. "Hey, you can say it." He said after he registered the look on Beau's face.

"Say what?" She said with a huffed sigh.

"The thing you've been wanting to say, but...been afraid of how it'll make me feel."

"There's nothing I can say, Stefan. It's not going to change anything."

"Might make you feel better. Look, I know this isn't the first time you've thought about it. Drinking vampire blood to survive. And I know I've thought about it a hundred times."

"And before all this with Klaus, did you think about it then?"

"Of course I did. Look...if it were my choice...i'd want to be with you forever."

That statement made Beau uncomfortable but she continued her automatic response.

"Why have you never brought it up?"

"'Cause I knew if it was an option, you would have. It would be selfish for me to ask you."

"Didn't stop Damon." Beau said with a huff.

"He shouldn't have done what he did. He did it because he loves you."

"But he did this to me, Stefan, which means he doesn't really know what love is. And to be honest, I don't know if I do. I'm seventeen years old. How am I supposed to know any of this yet?" Beau realized that what she just said resonated with her and made her mentally gulp as she though of her relationship with her own vampire who was kind of doing the same this as Damon, only the opposite. I'll have to think more on this later and hope that I survive the ritual. Beau thought with a sigh. "I know that I love you, Stefan. I know that. But my Future? Our lives together? Those are things I was supposed to deal with as they came along. I was supposed to grow up. Decide if I want to have kids and...start a family. Grow old. I was supposed to have a lifetime of those choices and... now? That's all gone." Beaus said in tears with her voice cracking. Though I already know what I want. I really don't like saying these things.

"Hey. say it. Please."

"I don't want to be a vampire, Stefan. I never wanted to be one."

"I know." Stefan said before hugging her. "It's okay." He said as she cried.

When they got back to the Salvatore Boarding house it was already dark. Once they car was parked Stefan turned off the engine and got out before coming to her door and opened it for her, holding her hand as she got out.

"Thanks for today." Beau said as she leaned against the car and Stefan nodded his head.

Before he could say anything he sharply turned to his left and placed Beau behind him. He saw Klaus standing away from them with his arms clasped in front of his.

"You got me all nervous. I though maybe you'd done something stupid." Klaus said to Stefan. He didn't, Elena did though. Beau thought. "You ready, my dear?" Klaus asked her.

Beau nodded her head and walked out from behind Stefan as she said, "I'm ready." Stefan stopped her though as he was still looking at Klaus.

"No." Stefan said.

"I wouldn't." Klaus said with his hands now clasped behind his back. "No reason for you to die too."

"No. Stefan, hey, hey." Beau said as she hastily stepped in front of him and faced him. "It's fine, it's fine. I'll go. No one needs to get hurt." When she didn't get a response she continued. "There's no reason for you to get hurt." Then with a sigh she leaned in and kissed him. Beau's mental eyes widened at what she was doing though she still couldn't control her actions. "I love you." She said and smiled at him, which he returned.

"I love you." Stefan said back before kissing her again.

"Close your eyes." She said with a small sigh as she pulled away. "Close your eyes."

When he closed his eyes Beau pulled her hand away from him slowly before stepping back and then she and Klaus were gone. Klaus had dropped her off with Greta. They were walking through the woods towards the ritual site.

"Where are we going?" Beau asked as she stumbled a bit.

"This way." Greta stated simply.

"You're Luka's sister, aren't you? heard about yo, He and your father were looking for you."

"Well, they were wasting their time. I wasn't lost."

"God, I can't see anything." Beau stated annoyed as she stumbled again.

Greta made a motion with her hand and fires lit the way, scaring Beau though when she looked forward again she was a body on the ground.

"Jenna?" Beau said as she realized that it was her aunt. "Jenna. Jenna! Jenna? Hey, hey, hey, Jenna!" Beau stated as tears started to form in her eyes and her voice started to crack. "Jenna!" Beau kept calling as she checked her aunt's pulse. "Oh my god. No. No, no. Jenna!" She turned towards Greta and asked. "He killed her. Why? I did everything that he asked."

Right after she said that Jenna gasped awake.

"She's not dead." Greta stated with a wide smile. "She's in transition."

"No." Beau whispered.

Greta walked to the altar and left them there.

"Oh, my head. What's wrong with me?" Jenna asked Beau with a groan and she scooted close to Jenna.

"Do you remember what happened?" Beau asked.

"You called me. You were scared." Jenna said and Beau gave her a look while the older woman groaned. "Ah, I should have realized that it, it wasn't you. The second I walked out of the house, someone grabbed me. A vampire."

"Klaus." Beau said. "It was Klaus."

"He make me drink his blood. And I, I don't...I don't remember anything after that. Where are we? Wh-what happened?"

"We're at the quarry. He brought us here." Beau stated grabbing her aunts hand.

"Why don't I remember anything?" Jenna asked.

"Jenna, do you remember...when I told you how someone becomes a vampire?" Beau asked.

"Yea, If you die with vampire blood in your system, it's...oh, god! He killed me"

"Jenna, listen to me. Listen to me, everything's going to be okay. I'm gonna get you out of here."

"I'm a vampire?" Jenna asked.

"And I bet you're hungry." Greta said from behind the blonde.

Beau saw a sharp rock and rushed to try and get it but was repelled by Greta who made a ring of fire surround her. When Beau got up she tried to get through the fire but couldn't.

"Don't bother trying to get through. I spelled the circle." Greta said as she picked up the sharp rock. " You're trapped." She said as she walked closer to Jenna. "No natter what you do."

"Greta, please just, just let her go." Beau said.

She was ignored and Greta slit her own wrist.

"Klaus chose her." Greta said with a head tilt to Jenna who was looking at the bleeding wrist with interest.

"No."

"Drink it." Greta told the transitioning vampire.

"Jenna, don't!" Beau said firmly with tears in her eyes.

"I can't." Jenna said still transfixed on the witch's bleeding wrist.

"Let her go. Hey! No!" Beau shouted as Jenna bit Greta's wrist finishing her transition.

Beau gasped with a small cry as she said: "No!"

Jenna groaned as she drank the witch's blood.

"Jenna...it's going to be okay." Beau said as Greta snatched her wrist away and placed a ring of fire around Jenna. "Jenna. Hey, look at me. It's going to be okay. It's going to be okay."

Jenna just shook her head. She sat down and Beau started pacing.

"How are you feeling?" Beau asked.

"I feel like myself...only not. E-everything is brighter and ...the fire's hotter. Part of me is terrified but there's another part of me that doesn't want to feel anything."

"Vampires can turn off the part that's human. That's the part that hurts."

"I'm gonna die, aren't I?"

"No~ Jenna I'm not gonna let that happen." I don't care about what I have to do." Beau stated determined and Jenna nodded.

They turned as they heard groaning, cries, and bones breaking.

"Who's that?" Jenna asked.

"That must be the werewolf." Beau stated with narrowed eyes.

The werewolf was thrown on the ground and asked:

"What's happening to me?"

"I cast a spell to slow down your transformation. Your insides are trying to tear themselves free." Greta said before walking away from the wolf and putting a ring of fire around her.

"Greta witches are supposed to maintain the balance in nature. It's your duty to them to keep this curse sealed." Beau Said. Though internally she was rolling her eyes at how dramatic and controlling Elena was.

"My duty is to Klaus! The new order." Greta said to Beau as Klaus walked towards them with a smirk.

"Glad to know that I still have a dance partner." Klaus said to Greta. "Hello, my lovelies...are we ready?"

Klaus and Greta walked towards the altar and stood on either side of it.

"I've got the moonstone." Klaus said as he grabbed said stone from his pocket. "I spent five hundred years looking for this. I hate to part with it." Klaus said as he handed the moonstone to Greta.

She took the stone and looked at the moon.

"The moon has passed its apex. Remember everything you need to do?" She said/asked with a smile.

"I remember."

She dropped the stone onto the altar and it sparked into a a fire before she started chanting.

Klaus walked towards the girls.

"Everything I did...I was just trying to help Tyler." The Werewolf said between her groans.

"Are you Jules?" Beau asked.

"I didn't want him to be alone!" Jules said as she groaned again.

"Shall we?" Klaus asked looking down at Jules.

Jules's fire circle receded as Klaus walked closer. Jules tried to attack him but was pinned to the ground and had her heart ripped out. Klaus took her heart to the altar and squeezed it over the fire, blacking the blood from the heart over the altar and start to bubble.

"Does that mean it's working?" Klaus asked.

"It's working." Greta stated happily.

"The day that the lawyers called to tell me that I was gonna become your guardian you know what my first thought was?" Jenna asked and Beau shook her head. "Isn't there someone else who can do this?"

"Jenna there was no one else who could have gotten me and Jeremy through all of that." Beau stated after a sigh.

"It's just the thought that I almost...passed up taking care of you-"

"But you didn't." Beau said as she kneeled down. "You put your entire life on hold to help us."

"Look around, Elena. I failed you."

"No, you didn't. I failed you. I'm so sorry. Listen, being a vampire, it intensifies your guilt. But it also makes you stronger and faster. You can fight back. I'm gonna get through this. I'll be okay. I need you to believe that. But promise me...when you get the chance..." Beau put her finger to her lips and whispered. "Run."

Jenna nodded her head.

Klaus was walking towards them with a stake.

"Hello, Jenna." He said.

She and Beau both stood up.

"Let her go." Beau stated with a small pant. "I understand that I have to die, but she doesn't." Beau said as she stepped closer to Jenna making the fire circles flare up.

"Careful." Klaus said as he looked at her while she took a step back.

"Elena don't!" Jenna said.

"No, Jenna, we can't leave Jeremy without a family!" Beau cried to Jenna before looking at Klaus. "I followed your rules, I didn't everything you asked. I didn't run! Please..." Beau pleaded with Klaus.

"Well, Well... I don't recall you being on the guest list." Klaus stated as he turned to look at the hill to his right.

Beau gasped as she saw Stefan standing there.

"I'm here to talk." Stefan said though only Klaus could hear him.

"Very well then." Klaus said as he looked at Jenna before vamping to Stefan.

"What's going on?" Jenna asked.

"I-I don't know. You can hear them. You can hear anything. Just, just-just focus on them. What are they saying?" Beau asked Jenna.

"I can't, I can't make it out." Jenna said with a shake if her head.

"You can do this. Just relax. Focus." Beau said calmly.

"Don't play games with me. You'll get what you want either way." Jenna heard Stefan say.

"I can hear him. I hear Stefan." She said.

"What are they saying?" Beau asked.

"You're quite the hero, aren't you? Yeah I've heard about you." Jenna heard Klaus say.

"Just make the trade. Me for Jenna." Stefan could be heard saying.

"Oh my god!" Jenna said.

"What is it?" Beau asked/

"He want's to take my place." Jenna told her making Beau look at her aunt before looking towards Stefan.

Beau started pacing.

"Elena." Jenna said with a sigh.

"I have to do something. This can't happen. None of it." Beau said.

"Quite the predicament. You know it's funny all this talk about preserving family and here's Stefan...granting your wish." Klaus stated as she and Stefan walked towards Jenna and Beau.

"Stefan..." Beau said softly.

"It's okay." Stefan told her.

"Well who's it gonna be, Elena?" Klaus asked as he waved the stake between the two vampires.

"No!"Beau grounded out with tears in her eyes.

"Oh, don't worry. There's actually o choice." Klaus stated before vamping behind Stefan and staked him just above the heart.

"Np! Stefan!" Beau called as he fell to the ground. "No!" She called again as Klaus broke the stake so he couldn't take it out.

"I have other plans for your boyfriend. I want him alive. But for now..." Klaus stated before snapping Stefan's neck. "Whenever you're ready, Greta." Klaus called and she started chanting again. "Your turn." He said to Jenna.

"No! Take Katherine instead." Beau called out feeling something loosen and she could speak freely. She didn't know how long it would last so she spoke as fast as she could. "It's better than continuing to give her the mercy that you are at this moment."

That made Klaus pause and look at her intrigued. It also made the fire circle that was starting to open close again because Greta paused her chanting.

"You think I'm giving Katerina mercy?" Klaus asked her with an amused smile.

"She's eluded you for five hundred years and when you finally catch her, you don't use her in the ritual she was originally supposed to be in. If that's nor mercy then I don't know what is." Klaus seem to contemplate but didn't look convinced so she continued. "The best way to torture her for her betrayal is to use her in the ritual she ran from i the first place. Instead you plan to chase her for what, another five hundred years. That may happen but she'll elude you again. She'll be free to do anything she wants, anywhere she wants, with whomever she wants just like the past five hundred years. Fare warning she knows all you're tricks, which is how she convinced you that she can still be compelled."

"I thought something was off but she's not on vervain. I checked." Klaus stated with a shake of his head.

Beau snorted. "You're letting her acting be the deciding factor instead of your thousand year old instincts? She must really know how to play you. The only reason that she hasn't left by now is because of the compulsion you placed on her before she got a hold of vervain." Beau stated with a sharp laugh while Klaus blink and tilted his head slightly as he studied her. He noticed that there was a different fire i her eyes than before and was intrigued by it. "Klaus as I've said, she knows your tricks and she knows how to play them to get her way. Which, by the way, is to not be in this ritual. This is you granting her mercy." Beau stated as she started at him unflinchingly in the eyes. "Let Jenna go and make Katherine take her rightful place in the ritual. Wouldn't that be better than your three girl trinity." When he seemed to hesitate she quickly added. "added bonus, she'll be cursing herself on the other side for not escaping the ritual a second time as she was this close to freedom." Beau said as she held up her right hand to show him her pointer finger and thumb centimeters apart from each other with a wicked smirk on her face that Klaus couldn't help but match.

"Well, Love, you've convinced me." Klaus said to her before heading towards Greta. "Greta darling, I'll be right back. Make sure nothing else happens in the meantime." He said before vamping away.

Beau breathed a sigh of relief as she fell to her knees and looked at the sky before turning to Jenna. Jenna was looking at her shocked and with a small happy smile which Beau returned.

Beau could feel whatever hold that had loosened, tightened right back up which made her sigh mentally.

Not even five minutes later Klaus was bringing a kicking ans screaming Katherine to the altar and gave Greta a nod. She started chanting again.

"Don't do this Klaus! I did what you wanted and gave you Jenna!" Katherine screamed as she pointed to the blonde.

"Well, love, this is my ritual and I am allowed to change my mind. I find this to be a better suited punishment for you." Klaus told her before trusting a stake through her heart.

Katherine's grayed body fell onto one of the stone slabs that surrounds the altar. When Stefan same to he groaned in pain and tried to take the stake out but couldn't. He looked at Beau and saw that Jenna was smiling happily as she sat next to her niece as closely as she could without triggering the rings of fire. This confused him so he looked at the altar and saw Katherine dead with a stake through her heart. He blinked not really comprehending how that happened when he knew Jenna was going to be sacrificed. Greta poured Katherine's blood into the fire on the altar while still chanting.

"What happened?" Stefan whispered.

"Shh." Beau stated as she put her finger to her lips.

"Are they gong to kill him?" Jenna asked in a whisper.

"Yes." Stefan stated still confused.

Klaus walked towards Beau.

"It's Time." Klaus told her and her fire circle receded. He held out his hand for her and she grabbed it allowing him to help her up off the ground.

They walked to the altar. Beau stood on the slab next to a dead Katherine and Klaus came up beside her.

"Thank you, Elena." He said as he looked into her eyes.

Beau didn't say anything so he just bit into her neck and started draining her dry. She could feel herself fading but before she completely whispered:

"I'm not Elena. I'm Beau. Her older twin sister." She felt him start to pull away and quickly added. "I'm just as much the doppelganger as she is, so you're welcome. I guess."

After saying that she went limp in his arms and died.

"I can feel it." Klaus whispered though look at the body in his arms curiously before laying her on the ground gently.

The ritual fire receded and Klaus fell to his knees, starting to shift. Though before he could finish Bonnie came out and started using her magic on him.

"No, you were dead." Klaus said.

Damon came and snapped Greta's neck before grabbing Beau and bringing her to Stefan.

"Elena." Stefan whispered to Beau's dead body.

Damon ripped the broken stake out of Stefan's back.

"I need you to get her out of here!" Stefan told Damon.

"What about you?" Damon asked.

"I'm not leaving until he's dead. Go!" Stefan stated as he pushed Damon away.

Damon picked up Beau. "Come on Jenna. Let's get out of here." Damon stated and Jenna nodded her head before they vamped away.

Bonnie continued to chant for a few more seconds before stopping which was when Elijah walked to his downed brother.

"Elijah?" Klaus asked.

"Hello, brother." Elijah stated as he stood over Klaus.

Stefan and Bonnie walked towards them before Elijah thrusted his hand into Klaus' chest grabbing a hold of his heart.

"In the name of out family, Niklaus..." Elijah started to say but Klaus hurriedly interrupted him.

"I didn't bury them at sea!"

"What?" Elijah asked.

"Their bodies are safe." Klaus stated. "If you kill me, you'll never find them."

"Elijah!" Stefan called. "Don't listen to him."

"Elijah." Klaus whispered. "I can take you to them. I give you my word...brother."

"Do it and I'll take you both out." Bonnie stated.

"You'll die." Elijah told her.

"I don't care." Bonnie snarled.

Elijah looked at Klaus before looking at Stefan ans said: "I'm sorry."

"No!" Stefan shouted.

"No!" Bonnie also shouted and they began running to the brothers.

Though Elijah vamped Klaus and himself away before anything could happen.

Thursday April 29, 2010

The sun was up when Jenna, Damon, and Beau-who he was carrying walked into the old witch house. Jenna went inside quickly due to her lack of a daylight ring. Damon placed her on the couch while saying:

"If you come back as a vampire I'll stake you myself, so don't." Jenna gave a slight breathy laugh. Damon stood by her and moved the hair from her closed eyes. "Because I can't stand the idea of you hating me forever."

Jeremy and Alaric both entered the room at the same time.

"How is she?" Jeremy asked once they stopped.

"I don't know yet." Damon said still concentrating on Beau.

"What about Jenna?" Alaric questioned.

"Right here, Ric." She said from her dark hiding place by the door.

"Jenna!" Alaric hugged her shocked as he wondered who was used as the vampire sacrifice.

John walked out of the house and a minute later Beau gasped back to like, wondering what was happening.

Everyone rushed towards her while Jenna go as close as she could.

"Damon, I..." Beau started to say but was interrupted.

"How do you feel?" Damon asked.

"Huh?" Beau asked confused. "I feel fine." She replied while Damon was petting her hair.

Damon and Jeremy gave a sigh of relief.

John dropped dead.

When Stefan and Bonnie met them Bonnie quickly made a daylight ring for Jenna before they started planning John's burial. They were all at the Gilbert house where Jenna was invited inside.

"We all set?" Stefan asked his brother.

"Yeah. Plenty of room with the Gilbert family plot and I compelled two of the grave diggers to do the dirty work. How is she doing?" Damon asked Stefan.

She lost the only parent she had. She's in shock." Stefan stated.

Beau was getting ready for John's funeral when Jeremy walked into Elena's room with a knock.

"I'm almost ready." Beau stated as she put in her earring.

"You can take your time." Jeremy stated. "John wanted me to give you this." He stated a he handed her an envelope, "And this." as well as John's Gilbert ring.

After a few seconds he started walking out of the room.

"Jeremy..." Beau called making him look at her. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry that you've lost so many people."

"I, I still have you and Jenna." And me. Beau thought.

Beau sighed ans nodded. Jeremy walked out of the room and Beau sat on the window seat with the letter that was given to her. Because it was bit also because John died for her not Elena. Beau's lips trembled at the though of her bio father being dead and never getting to actually meet her bio mother by herself. All she's got is Elena's memories of their mother. With a sigh she started to read the letter.

Elena, it's no easy task being an ordinary parent to an extraordinary child. I failed in that task. And because of my prejudices, I failed you. I'm haunted by how things might have played out differently, if i'd been more willing to hear your side of things.

For me, it's the end. For you, a chance to grow old and someday do better with your own child than I did with mine. It's for that child that I give you my ring.

I don't ask for your forgiveness or for you to forget. I ask only that you believe this. Whether you were now reading this as a human or as a vampire, I love you all the same, as I've always loved to and always will.

John

At the funeral Beau cried as she laid the roses on the three Gilbert graves. She had lost both of her actual parents on the same day. The only parents that she really actually had. With Renee she was the mother in their relationship; she had to make the food, clean the house, pay the bills, have a job while Renee did whatever she wanted and whoever she wanted. That's gotten Beau into trouble a few times though Renee never really know because she was lost in her own world. Charlie on the other hand was married to his work and hadn't even fought for her and let her do whatever seeing as she was already capable of taking care of herself. He didn't even try to parent her.

On top of everything she has to deal with her twins' betrayal and the fact that she died. She actually died. Her twin brought her to Mystic Falls to die in her place so that Elena herself could live. It also didn't help that she was noticing the quick glances that she was getting from Bonnie that always showed a hint of regret and shame. This made her think that Bonnie was the one that helped Elena do this to her.

A few hours later Beau managed to get a reluctant Bonnie alone in Elena's room. Beau was sitting on the window seat watching Bonnie and seeing her fidget in weariness.

"I tried to take this off after I resuscitated but couldn't, so when can I take it off?" Beau asked calmly as she held up her left wrist that held the magically charmed charm bracelet.

Bonnie's eye's widened slightly as she recognized the bracelet.

"I-I don't know what you mean, Elena." Bonnie stuttered out quickly.

Beau glared at her.

"Bonnie Shelia Bennett, don't lie to me. I can already see that you got your memories back. When?" Beau asked.

"After the sun rose." Bonnie whispered as she looked down in shame.

There was a few minutes of silence before Bonnie heard Beau moving around. When she looked up the older girl was standing right in front of her. Bonnie took a startled step back but before she would say anything her head snapped sharply to the side and a smacking sound resonated through the quiet room.

"Do you even know who you condemned to Elena'a fate?" Beau asked after Bonnie slowly met her eyes but didn't flinch at the sight of the darker skinned girl who had tears streaming down her cheeks.

"No." Bonnie whispered.

Beau gave a hollow chuckle that made the witch flinch. "Of course not. Elena said that the sacrifice was going to happen, she's been saying to for days. she knew...that Klaus was going to break his curse...but she didn't want to die...and she didn't because she found a loophole." Beau said before retaking her spot on the window seat. Bonnie wasn't sure where this was going but listened anyway as it was the least she could do. "Klaus needed a doppelganger to complete his ritual."

"I know." Bonnie whispered.

"Elena called me on the twenty second asking me to come here. She didn't say it out loud but she found a loophole. A way that she could survive. Which is where this pretty little spelled bracelet comes in. You spelled it not even two days ago, remember."

"I remember." She said ashamed.

"I want to know...what spells did you put on this pretty little bracelet of mine?"

Bonnie hesitated but at the glare she received she stuttered out:

"An illusion spell-so that whoever wears it looks like Elena. Magical compulsion-so that the wearer would act, speak, and pretend to be Elena whenever they were around others or think that they were around others. A memory spell-the bracelet contained all of Elena's memories, thoughts, and feelings from the very first one to right before I spelled the bracelet. And a locking spell- so that the wearer couldn't take it off until the night after the full moon." Bonnie whispered.

"I figured out all but the magic compulsion one, that one confused me. You see nothing can penetrate my mind but this did though that was probably because I was the wearer and it took effect through physical contact." Bonnie just nodded her head. Though after a few minutes of silence Beau spoke again. "You haven't asked yet."

"Asked what?" Bonnie asked looking at her confused.

"Who I am. Or what the loophole was."

This made Bonnie's eyes go wide before she asked with a shuddering breath: "Who are you? What was the loophole?"

"It's me Bonnett." Beau said with a rueful smile.

"Bells?" Bonnie asked with wide eyes as Beau is the only one that calls her Bonnett.

"Yep. Isabella Marie Swan. Turns out I'm Elena's full older twin. That's the loophole. I'm Elena's older twin and even though we aren't identical we are the same species."

Bonnie processed that for a second though she wasn't getting what Beau was hinting at. Bonnie saw the annoyed look on Beau's face and figured she wasn't getting something.

"What are you trying to have e figure out, Bells?"

"Elena found out that I was her full older twin on the ninth. She called me asking me to come here because she needed me on the twenty second. After freeing Elijah and learning more about the curse as well as the elixir she came to you to spell a bracelet that she already had with her when she walked in on the twenty seventh. She knew that was I was arriving that day. She knew that Klaus was going to use the next full moon to release his curse and that was yesterday. I was the loophole and she didn't have to die. Elena isn't here at the moment and she made you block your memories for a while."

"What are you trying to say?" Bonnie asked with Tears in her eyes.

"She brought me here to die." Beau stated hollowly.

Bonnie gasped as the weight of that statement sunk in.

"No." Bonnie stated softly not wanting it to be true.

"She's willing to sacrifice her own sister so that she could live. After finding a way to live she made a place and followed through with it so that she herself didn't have to face the consequences." Beau stated with no emotion in her voice.
