Chapter 5 Speed and Spyke

New York

The game was getting intense, as they were close to winning five games in a row. If they keep up, they could qualify for the nationals.

Ororo Munroe is at a high school basketball game watching her nephew Evan Daniels play. Next to her is her brother-in-law. "Is it always this exciting?" she asks her brother-in-law, to which he replies, "No, this one's a real nail-biter." He cheers for his son as this will be a very close game.

Evan Daniels is a brown-skinned boy with blond dyed hair styled in a Mohawk. Evans is part of the basketball team. They watched as the time was about to run out.

Everyone yelled and shouted for their team to win. Two players encircled a white-haired boy who was halfway to the basket and dribbling the ball. As he glanced around, their instructor yelled, "Go! Daniels is open, Pietro! Now!"

"Take it, Daniels!" He shouted as he passed the ball to Ororo's nephew, who caught it. Ororo yelled, "Go, Evan! Take the shot!"

An opponent's player bumped Evans, causing him to fall, and Evans shot the ball. When he struck the ground, his arms unintentionally became spiked. He swiftly pulled out the spikes, but Ororo and the white-haired child both noticed.

BZzzzzzzz!

The game was about to end when the buzzers sounded and the ball went through the basket. The crowd went wild as their team won the game.

With the exception of the white-haired boy, Evan's friends applauded, grabbed him, and helped him up. The boy secretly checked it to make sure there wouldn't be any spikes and hoisted his arm in celebration.

Ororo shows concern as she never thought he might have the X-gene.

Later at the boy's locker room.

"Nice game, Daniels."

"That was an awesome shot."

"You the man, Evan."

Evan just smiled at the praises his teammates were giving him as he opened his locker to grab his stuff. "Thanks, guys. Good game," he said with a grin.

"Should have known you would hog all the glory," an angry voice said next to him. He turned Pietro leaning on the lockers.

"What are you talking about, Pietro?" Evan asked, looking at Pietro. "Everyone knows that-."

"Everyone knows that if it wasn't for me, you wouldn't have made that shot!" Pietro interrupted him. "I should have just taken the shot myself."

"Hey man, that was a good pass," Evan said as he closed the locker. "But there's no way you could have made it there to make the shot." Evan was being honest, not wanting to put him down, but he always gave gratitude for the team effort.

"Hey dude, I got moves you can't even imagine," Pietro remarked while dabbing at his hair. As he rushed passed Evan, he gave him a shoulder pat. "And I'm done holding back just to make you guys look good."

Before putting the final item of clothing in his gym back, Evan saw the white-haired boy go.

Evan turned to see his aunt. "Looks like that boy has been competing with you ever since you were babies," the voice remarked.

Evan said, "Hey Auntie O," grinning. "Where's mom and dad?"

Ororo exclaimed, "They're waiting outside," grinning. "I think the locker room scares your mother."

Evan said, "Right," while tying his shoes. "A game, eh? The fact that you showed up is tight.

"And miss my favorite nephew's game?" As she approached to embrace Evan, Ororo remarked. "Not a chance."

Evan responded, "Thanks again for coming, Auntie," as Ororo released her grip while wearing a troubled expression.

She sat and said, "Evan, are you alright?" "I have been worried about you recently. You are aware of the topics we have already covered.

Evan responded dismissively, "Yeah, yeah," trying to hide his panic. "No issue, Aunt O. Everything is cool."

Ororo remarked gravely, "Evan, I saw what happened out there." Her nephew is lucky she saw that and no one else.

"Hey, it's no big deal," smiled Evan. "I got it under cont-ah-ah-achoo!"

Stab-stab-stab!

A spike struck the adjacent wall, and Ororo just shifted her head. She noticed spikes on the walls and doors of the lockers.

She replied, "Bless you," while Evan rubbed his nose.

A sheepish look on Evan's face was shown. "Hehe," he said. "Busted, huh?"

Ororo said, "Big time," while crossing her arms.

Xavier's school

Vyolet flew around the air feeling free. She let's go for a bit and the air danced through her hair. She felt happy.

Lately, she noticed some purple static coming from her fingertips. Vyolet didn't ask nor question it because when she tried it never happened. She looked closely as she checked her fingertips and skin.

For now, it has been quiet, which gave Vyolet a brief moment of freedom.

'Vyolet, please come down.' She heard Charles's voice as she saw him at the cliff of the ocean where her favorite bench was.

Vyolet flew down and landed gently.

"Yes, professor?" She questioned him. Charles looked at her and he had a feeling something was wrong with her mind. He tried his best not to pry into her mind without her permission. He could tell something was bothering her, but he believed she would tell once she was ready.

"Vyolet," Charles was cut off as Jean ran up to them. Looks like she has news to tell them.

Jean ran up to them as she spoke, "Professor, Ororo just called. Her nephew is a mutant."

They both looked at Jean. Yes, Charles had a feeling and Cerebro had notified him about Evans's mutation. And judging by Jean's expressions, looks like Evan is not taking it seriously.

"Then tell Scott that we are leaving to recruit Evan and make him see that he needs to learn to control," Charles spoke as he had a feeling that Evan may need a better understanding of this situation.

New York

Vyolet, Jean, and Scott were seated on the sofa in Daniels' residence. Ororo and Prof. Xavier, Evan's parents, were standing in front of them. They were all anticipating Evan's return from school. As a diversion, Vyolet amused herself by letting metal balls spin about like a spinning wheel.

His parents were taken aback when Ororo informed them of her nephew's aptitude. They heard the door open, and Evan entered with a somewhat irritated expression. When he saw the intruders in his living room, he paused and sighed.

Evan is having a bad as it is. Someone keeps breaking into his locker and stealing his money. Now his Auntie O has to make a big deal out of his powers.

"You don't give up, do you Auntie O," he said as he looked at Ororo.

"It's because she is concerned about you," Jean said gently. "We all do."

Vyolet spoke next, "And knowing your powers, you could hurt someone with those spikes within a minute." She shrugged as she continued gently magnetic powers to morph her metal orbs into shapes. It changes from ball to star.

"That would explain the holes in his shirts," Mrs. Daniels commented.

"We always knew this was a possibility, Vi," Ororo said. "While you didn't receive the X gene like I did, we both knew it would be passed down by our offspring."

She did worry that it might pass onto their genes or hope it skipped Evans' generations. But it seemed that the X-gene was stronger than ever.

"It's not really that bad, Mrs. Daniels," Scott said, trying to cheer the family up.

"Oh yeah?" Evan said with a glare. "Tell you what, Shades, let me see what you've got that's so cool."

BOP!

"Ow!" Evan was hit by one of Vyolet's metal orbs. That hurt right on the forehead. He rubbed that spot. Evan glared at that purple-haired girl.

Vyolet shrugged and said, "Oops."

She waved her hand brought the orb back and put all three away for now.

Jean apoplectically waved it off. "No, really. It's okay. It's just, that Scott's powers aren't really what you'd call "indoor-friendly."

Evan doesn't believe that. "Okay, whatever. Look, man, I like it right here and I'm not going to some home for freaks. If you'll excuse me, I got school stuff to take care of."

Evan left upstairs to his room with a loud bang for all to hear.

Mrs. Daniels harshly scolded her son. "Evan!"

Jean spoke, "Well, that went well."

"No Jean. It was awful." Vyolet made Jean wilted at the truth.

"I know." Jean knows that it didn't go well at all. He isn't listening to them at all.

Scott said, "Yeah, and I thought we were really making a connection there."

Mr. Daniels apologized to the teens. "I apologize for my son, Mr. Summers. He's obviously dealing with a lot right now. I'll talk with him."

Jean sensed in her mind, "Hey, he's going out the window!"

Vyolet ran upstairs as Scott followed her. They saw his room which was a bit a mess as Vyolet ran to the window and saw Evan rolling away in his skateboard.

"Damn it!"

Scott spoke. "We really need to work on our sales pitch."

"Scott, I don't think it's us that is the problem," Vyolet spoke as they watched as Evan was far away. And boy was she right as Evans has serious issues they need to work on.

Highschool

Evan skated to his locker after breaking into the school. He was taking this action since his locker had been stolen from him for days. He chose to catch the crook on his own after trying to change his hair without success.

His locker was still locked when he paused in front of it. Something blurs past him before he can make up his mind. He spun around, startled to see the same blur streaking in his direction.

He regained his balance and noticed the blur. He had prepared himself this time. The blur moved as he launched spikes from his arms toward the earth. Evan continued to fire spikes, getting in the way of the blur until he cornered it.

His eyes widened as he gazed at the blur.

"Pietro?" Looking at the white-haired boy, who was wearing a light blue unitard with a silver lightning bolt across it, Evan murmured in disbelief.

"Guess I'm not the only one with moves," Pietro said with a smirk. "Like the outfit? Made it myself. Took about a quarter second. Look at this. Seems my old pal has a few tricks of his own. But as usual not as good as mine." He poked playfully at the spikes on the wall.

Pietro shows his power such as speed. Zig-zagging back and forth over Evan. Evan now realized something.

Evan widened his eyes. "You? You've got powers too?"

Pietro smirked, "Finally. Remember, Daniels, anything you can do, I can do better. Mind if I take that back?"

Yup, Pietro is taking this rivalry to a whole new level.

SWISH!

He superspeed which opened Evans's locker took out his wallet and got the money back he lent him before. He threw the wallet back to Evan which he caught.

Surprised that he would do this to him. Evan questioned him. "But why would you want to rip me off?"

Pietro shrugged it off as if it was no big deal. "Kicks, man. For the challenge. When you live as fast as I do there ain't enough things to occupy my time. I gotta entertain myself. And you thought you could stop me. Well, wrong again.

Evan is now ready to fight. He shows the spike on his arms. "Don't bet on it."

SHOOT!

His spikes aim at him, but Pietro is just too quick for him.

Pietro came back to his side and pushed him to the ground hard. "Too slow. What a surprise. You're gonna need some more time to work on those powers of yours. Maybe I can arrange it."

Evan slowly got up and looked at him confused.

"What do you mean?"

Pietro smirked and said, "Can you say scapegoat?" He pointed behind Evan as he superspeed out of there in the flash.

Evan turned and saw all his spikes damaged the lockers and school grounds. Police rushed into the school and saw the damage. Now the police will want to talk to Evan.

Holding cell

Evan sat on the bench. He can't believe it. One day he was the big shot and now here he is framed for a crime he didn't commit.

He then heard his parents and guests come to see him.

Great, how can this get anyway worse?

Mrs. Daniels was worried, "Evan, what happened?"

Vyolet raised her hand to gesture that bet they had. Scott sighed and he passed her twenty bucks. They made a bet about how long until Evan could go to jail for misusing his powers. She claims it will be tonight while Scott hopes it will be tomorrow night.

Vyolet is now twenty dollars richer.

Scott shook his head in disappointment. "Welcome to the downside, pal. Misuse your powers, go to jail."

"Right now, kids at your school are saying you took this crime spree to a whole new level now," Vyolet said as she put the money away in her wallet.

Evan protested it. "It wasn't me, man." He went to the bar as his mom calmed him down.

Jean tried to placate him. "Hey, I believe you, Evan. In fact, I know you didn't do it."

Storm had to speak with reason. "Evan, please listen to me. Let us help you."

Scott decided to cut the deal. "So we'll make you a deal. The professor will use his influence to get you out and you give the institute a shot. What do you say?"

Evan is quiet with a still restrained anger in his mind.

Vyolet came forward. "Listen, the school already gave your expulsion if not the intervention from the professor to ask you for a transfer instead. And you would have gotten yourself a juvie record since they believed it was you, but the professor said it was your first offense. So, c'mon be smart for once Evan. At least try not for us, but for you."

Evan slumped a bit and rubbed his face to relax himself a bit. He waved it off and said, "Like I've got a choice?"

They all nodded, and the guard opened the cell for Evan to come out. Guess he had no choice but to go to Xavier's boarding house now that everyone believes he did it.

Bayville, Xavier's school

Everyone woke up one morning as they were getting ready for breakfast. Vyolet is making some wheat bead toast from many of the toasters and buttering them with a metal butter knife to coat it on top and place them on plates for everyone. Jean is mixing orange juice with her telepathy and waving her hand to float them to the table, and Scott is flipping pancakes for everyone. Vyolet returned and took control of making the eggs scramble.

Stripes is patiently waiting for his meal in his big bowl. He was taught not to jump on the table or the chair since he must have manners.

Don't worry, he discovered how few kids sneak some of their food under the table for him to taste.

Once the table was set, Logan, Ororo, Professor Xavier, and Kitty came in.

Jean used her powers to levitate a few plates of scrambled eggs, smoked sausages, bacon, buttered toast, and pancakes. Vyolet brought in a bowl of grapes in case someone wanted to have some healthy side while Scott brought in a pot of warm coffee and syrups.

Vyolet heard a beep from the oven and went to get Strip's meal.

Backbone ribs fit to feed a lion. She brought the bowl and put it in there as she already removed the bones and put in his meat. Stripes purred happily as she placed his bowl on the ground. He eagerly growled and ate rather healthily.

The professor examined Stripes as he is not sure what species he is, but he seemed to chromosome results by Big cats and feline reflexes but the blood shows rather interesting results. It shows DNA similar to reptilians like a Komodo dragon diet. Such as deer, cows, pigs, fish, and birds.

With a loud 'bamf!' Kurt appeared on a chair, rubbing his hands together. Vyolet took the seat next to him.

"I love da smell of breakfast in da morning!" he said as he piled his plate with eggs and sausages.

"So like where's this new guy we've been hearing about?" Kitty asked as she drank some orange juice.

"He's still in bed," Xavier replied as he cut a piece of pancake. "He had a rather difficult night."

Vyolet piled her side of pancakes and moved it magnetically to Kitty as she wanted some. "I said he should accept it and move on. Oh, Scott, I need that syrup. Thanks." Scott passed the syrup to her. Vyolet added pancakes to be topped with syrups. "Anyway, he is going to have to get over that he lost for the first time. You win some, you lose some. Isn't that how you show being a good sport?" She put the syrup down and cut up her pancake. The pancake is buttered good which she is happy about.

"If that were true, then he would have not taken it personally and just shrugged it off," Logan spoke as he had talked about similar experiences before when it comes to losing. "I say that porcupine is going to want to settle his personal score against someone who framed him in the first place. Elf!" He scolded Kurt as he hung upside down from the chandler. "How many times do I gotta tell ya? Ask and it'll get past to ya."

Kurt teleported back to his chair, grinning sheepishly.

"Sorry. Didn't vanna bother you," he said. "Pass the pancakes, please."

Logan nodded before passing the plate of pancakes to the blue Mutant.

"In any case, it might be best if Evan had other things to distract his mind. I've already enrolled him at Bayville. Scott, could you introduce him to the basketball coach?" Charles spoke to Scott as he finished drinking his coffee.

Scott nodded. "Sure. After that last game he played in New York, coach will jump at him."

Vyolet input, "Maybe this year our basketball team can finally make it to state."

They all nodded and muttered a good point at her comment.

Kurt then sneaked sausages under the table as Stripes finished his meal within seconds. He perked up at the sight. He went under the table and took the sausage. He licked his hand to taste the delightful sausages.

He purred a bit then burped a little. Welp! He is full and that is more than enough for him.

Yup, Typical morning for their household.

Bayville High School

In Bayville High School, four students are waiting at the office, Lance, Fred, Todd, and Anne-Marie are waiting for the principal to call them in.

Ms. Darkholme is waiting for the moment when he meets his brotherhood members.

Mystique disguised as Ms. Darkholme sat at her principal office desk. "I'm honored that you've come."

Magneto came forward to speak, "I'm not here for your little student body meeting, Mystique. Behold."

He showed the hologram of two new mutants, that is Evan Daniels and Pietro Maximoff.

Mystique spoke curiously. "So this is the speed demon I've been hearing about."

"Pietro Maximoff. He is of particular interest to me. I have waited for just the right moment to approach this young man. And now is the time." Looking at the hologram of Pietro.

She got the idea. "Then we shall extend the hand of friendship to the boy." Another mutant to groom into his design the better their strength can grow.

Magneto cautioned her. "It will not be that easy. He believes he needs no one. However, there may be a way."

"A way?" She is curious about what plans he has for this one.

Magneto decided to add fuel to the flame. "Young Pietro has long had a grudge rivalry against Evan Daniels."

Mystique remembered as she recalled. "The new student Xavier enrolled here last week."

"Yes. Pietro has recently taken advantage of that competition. And I believe Mr. Daniels would like to settle the score."

Mystique smirked and she agreed with him. "Well then, I know just how to bring them together."

He nodded. "Excellent. Then I will take it from there." Magneto then added to his question. "By the way, how is that other thing I asked you to do?"

Mystique gave him a rather displeasure look. "I have tried to look into this mutant you asked." She knows that it will greatly displease him and the last thing she wants is for him to get rid of her 'uselessness'. He doesn't tolerate failures.

"And?" He shows restraint in his displeasure voice and vows not to disappoint me.

"Xavier seemed to keep her existence rather good. It would appear that Charles has a 'special' kind of attention from Ms. Vyolet St. James. I have looked into her education record."

"What did you find?"

"Nothing. It would appear that she has been under a rather closer watched by Charles Xavier as she was homeschooled almost all her life, that is until she entered the school as a freshman." She spoke.

Magento is greatly displeased. His emotion and will have used his powers that seemed to bend anything metal in anger. Yes, he is quite displeased.

Looking around her as he bends anything metal in horrible forms, she remains calm in order not to panic.

Magento hissed in her ear. "I do not care for her education record. I want to know where she comes from. Who sired this potential mutant? How long has she been a mutant? Find out by any means necessary. Understood?"

She gulped silently and nodded, shaking. "Forgive me. I must try harder to fulfill your orders."

The magnetic powers stop. That is sufficient enough for now.

"See that you do." He vanished into his shadows. As he disappeared. The shapeshifter mutant let out a sigh of relief. Trying to take control of her fear and breathe in and out to calm down. She looked down and gritted her teeth as she fisted her hands.

Curse that mind reader, Charles Xavier!

He gave her nothing but trouble.

Very well.

She will find another way. She just has to try a little harder.

After all, she never fails at her job.

Training suite in Xavier Institute

Evan aka Spyke panted and sweated his butt off. And looking at that purple-haired girl, she was sipping her drink and reading a book without even looking at him. Man, how can someone who doesn't socialize be so cool around people?

How can she be so confident and not even breaking a sweat?

'Come on, Evan! Get it together!' He slaps his cheeks together and breathes to remain focused.

Evan straightened up, trembling a little, and moaned. He then shot the three with spikes, which Vyolet effortlessly deflected using her abilities with a metal wall shielding them. And she isn't even looking at him!

Cyclops shrugged helplessly as Vyolet was good at getting her opponent angry by not doing anything to them.

Stripes growled as he swiped his skateboard off of Evan. "Ah!" He fell off but landed on his feet. And this freaking tiger thing or whatever is it sure knows how to jump out of nowhere. Wolverine jumped to swipe him with his claw, but Evan used his spikes as armor to counterattack him.

With his claws out, Wolverine lunged for Evan again. The child dodged, called forth a spike, and aimed it at Wolverine's throat. Evan was ready to smile when he felt a sharp object stab him in the ribcage. Wolverine's claws touched his ribs as he gazed down.

After they had all stood silently, Wolverine grinned. Evan landed on his butt, and he pulled back his claws.

"Not bad, kid," he said.

Kitty ran up and yelled from below. "Spyke, the coach called. He says you gotta come to the gym. You've got a game."

Evan sounded confused, "There wasn't one on the schedule."

Kitty shrugged off. "There is now. Coach says Principal Darkholme put it together at the last minute. He wants you suited up in one hour because you're starting against P.S.104."

Kurt barmfed to Evans's side and patted onto his shoulder. "Dude! All right! You get to play against your alma mater."

Evan looked down and mumbled, "Yeah."

Bayville high school

Evan couldn't wait and wanted to confront Pietro head-on. Vyolet saw this and went to stop Evan. Woah, boy. Evan gotta learn how to play smart, not stupid.

And they cannot afford Evan to get into more trouble.

"Evan, cool off." Vyolet tries to tug him away. Evan stood to the ground as he glared at his former best friend, Pietro. Pietro looked at the purple-haired pretty girl.

"What's this? Got a new girlfriend already?" Pietro pushed Evan aside and flirted with Vyolet. "Names Pietro and you know I am good at everything."

Ugh. Is this guy serious?

"Does anyone ever tell you that line is so last season?" Vyolet retorted. Pietro smiled confidently and sped forward to another side of her. "I see. You like playing hardball. That I can work." Vyolet shivers a bit at this creep. Yup, he is a total creep.

Evan pushed Pietro away from her. "Hey, she said she was not interested."

The speedster lost her smile and glared at Evan. "Does she ask for your input?" Scott and Jean came and saw it. Scott has always been overprotective of Vyolet since childhood when they grew up. So, he took it personally to not let anyone mess with Vyolet.

Scott intervene. "Hey, lay off!" He pulled Maximoff away from Evan.

"Ah, I see you have these two as backup. Quite a pathic to try and win." Pietro added a final taunt to Evan. "Bet you can't catch me!" He superspeed away in a flash that made their hair blow by his wind.

"Man, he is fast," Scott commented, but Evan quickly followed Pietro and took hold of his X-Men uniform while chasing him.

Jean spoke, "We can't let Evan do this alone."

"When you're with the X-Men, you're never alone. Let's go." Scott gestured to the girls. "Suit up."

Vyolet flew into the air as she chased after Quicksilver. She is wearing her uniform and communicates by earpiece. Seeing that silver-haired speedster as he is tearing the main streets apart.

"Cyclops, I spotted our speedsters! Orders?"

"See that you can kick him off his feet, Solenoid."

"You got it."

Solenoids bend the fire hydrant to burst them out to wet the streets. Quicksilver dodged the exploded fire hydrants that blew out water into the air, but his feet slipped and made him skip over it slopping.

"Ahh!" He crashed into the wet street. Vyolet floated as she looked down. "Now, are going to come with me to the police station or do we have to fight it off?" Pietro is intrigued by her more.

"Hold that thought." He superspeed to try and hit her, but Evan aimed his spikes which in slow motion he dodged each and every spike.

Pietro stopped flailing and saw Evan wearing a dark blue suit with a yellow belt, boots, and armbands. On the belt was the X-symbol.

"Well, well," Pietro said. "If it isn't Evan."

"The name's Spyke," Evan said. "And this one is my win."

"Spyke huh?" Pietro said. "Nice name. Then how about you call me Quicksilver."

Evan wants a rematch. "Hey, rematch! You and me!" He summons more sikes to ready for him.

"Okay, let's race." He superspeeds to go against Evan. A tiny whirlwind formed as he began to spin around. Evan dug deep into the ground thanks to his long pole spikes to hold himself from being blown away.

Cyclops blasted Quicksilver good. BLAST!

He blasted him off his feet as Jean tried to use her powers to levitate off the ground and try to hold him.

Pietro made his body vibrate in speed motion to loosen her grip on him. It got too much for telepathy such as Jean herself.

"Ah, can't get a hold of him," Jean screamed as she let go of him. As for payback, he pushed her back and hit her body aiming at Scott.

"Ah!" Their body collided in the ground.

Vyolet decided to bend her metal to stop some of his loose spikes in the air. Then whip to grab him with the body. "Hey, no fair!" He tried to run to pull away from her metal wires. Vyolet gritted and sweat fell through her skin.

"Now Spyke!" She yelled.

Spyke got the memo and summoned his spikes aimed at Pietro making him caged by it and cannot get out. He is pinned to the wall.

For good measure, she wrapped him around the metal wires and pinned them tight.

"Like I said, my win," Spyke said with a grin. Vyolet and Evan high-fived each other. It was a team effort after all. Now Evan knows how to play better in the team.

"Guess all that training paid off," Cyclops said as he helped Marvel Girl up her feet.

"So what?" Quicksilver said as he tried to shrug. "You still can't prove that it was me who trashed the school." Even if they told the police, it would only be words and no evidence.

Evan pulled out a tape recorder that Vyolet gave him. "Sounds like a challenge. I got it all right here. Check this out."

He played it.

"Actually, yeah. I trashed those lockers. Why? You gonna do something about it?" Pietro's voice is played.

Quicksilver gasped. He can't believe it! He has been played.

"Game. Set. Match." Scott commented and was about to high-five Evan, but Cyclops paused looking a bit scared. Evan looked confused. "Um… Dude, don't leave me hanging."

What happened?

"Um…your spikes." Cyclops pointed at Evan's hands, sprouting small spikes. Evan saw his hand and gave Scott a sheepish smile. "Hehe, right. I'm working on it."

He is trying. Cut him some slack.

Next Day…

Today is warmer and the sun is high up bright in the sky.

Everyone is enjoying their free day from school since the streets are damaged by unusual circumstances.

Evan now declared himself innocent and all charges were dropped.

Vyolet is wearing her swimsuit that one-piece bathing suit featuring built-in cups, wide straps, and racerback. It's very suitable for daily exercise. Her hair is pulled into a ponytail.

She is sunbathing outside as Stripe is enjoying his sleeping spot.

"Cannonball!" Kurt shouted as he teleported into the air and cannonballed into the water. Unfortunately, he landed near Kitty, who was on her pink rubber raft. Surprised by the fall, she fell from her raft.

"Kurt!" Kitty exclaimed. "Professor, Kurt is like, shedding blue fur in the water!"

"I am not!" Kurt shouted back.

Vyolet pulled her sunglasses and looked at the scene. Sigh, could they have one day without arguing?

"So, Evan any chance we might have another game at school?" She questioned Evan and he smiled at her, "I decided not to sign up for Basketball team this time. Since I am part of this team. I'm going to need to be here 100%, right Professor?"

Charles is pleased with Evan's answer. "That is an excellent mindset. You will make everyone proud."

Evan smiled and decided to make a big splash.

Evan gets on the diving board and climbs.

With a yell of "Check this out!" he leaped from the board and tucked his legs. Kitty fell again when spikes suddenly appeared on his shoulder and shot off when he hit the water, striking her raft.

Kitty climbed out of the water and gave Evan a stern look as he laughed uneasily.

As everyone laughed, he said, "I'll buy you a new one?" For them, it's just another day.

Reviews are welcome.

The next Chapter is a special chapter about Vyolet reading the book her mom left her and the anniversary of her mom didn't come back.
