"Rai," said the tiny electric rodent, hopping forward and touching one paw to the side of the dragonite. The thin, wire-like tail lifted into the air and electricity burst through the pokemon, frying first the dragonite then flowing outward through the ground to where the trainer stood.
Miles away, an alarm went off.
"Abnormal power plant discharge," mumbled the operator, rolling out of bed and shuffling toward clothes. "Please just be magnemite in the wires, please just be magnemite in the wires, please please please don't be another raichu trying to nest again..."

The original games were quite clear that this was our world but also cool magic animals, down to an identical moon landing timeline. The anime team, however separated things as much as possible, resulting in
Anime: Raichu, a mouse pokemon of the electric element. Raichu is the evolved form of pikachu. It can shock with more than 100,000 volts, enough to render a dragonite unconscious.
In addition,
Team Rocket TCG Set: Dark Dragonite. Sometimes called "The God of Destruction." Its wings are able to support it in spite of its massive weight.
With this, I've got the first 1/5th of the pokedex done! (The weedle line one won't be posted until sometime Feb, but it's done.)
