The Glee room was buzzing with the usual energy as the students shuffled in for practice. But today, there was a new undercurrent of excitement—and a hint of nerves—as the club members quietly exchanged glances.
Rachel couldn't focus on her usual warm-up exercises, her mind too preoccupied with Quinn's fake pregnancy and her own increasing suspicions. She was determined to uncover the truth, but today, there was another weight on her shoulders: her own pregnancy.
It had been a week since Quinn's dramatic reveal, and though Rachel had tried her best to stay focused on the music and practice, her pregnancy was beginning to feel more real with each passing day. The morning sickness had intensified, and her fatigue seemed to have doubled. Finn had been incredibly supportive, but Rachel couldn't shake the nagging feeling that something was off—not just about Quinn, but about her own pregnancy. Her body was giving her signals she couldn't ignore.
She walked over to the corner, her hand instinctively going to her stomach. "Okay," she muttered to herself, "you can do this."
Emma walked in just then, her usually calm demeanor a little less composed than usual. Rachel noticed the small wince Emma made as she adjusted her position to sit down. The pregnancy was becoming harder for her to hide—especially with the triplets growing inside her.
"Are you alright?" Rachel asked, walking over to her.
Emma gave her a tight smile. "Oh, just peachy. You know, typical pregnancy stuff. Nothing too crazy."
Rachel raised an eyebrow. "Nothing too crazy? You're carrying three babies, Emma. I'd say that's pretty crazy."
Emma chuckled softly, though it was clear she was hiding a bit of discomfort. "It's a bit overwhelming, I admit. But I'm managing... just taking it one day at a time."
Rachel smiled sympathetically. "I can't imagine how hard it must be. Triplets are a lot of work, even just thinking about it."
Emma nodded slowly, her fingers resting on her stomach. "Yeah, they definitely keep me on my toes."
Just then, the door to the Glee room swung open, and Finn walked in, his face flushed with excitement. "Hey, Rachel. I just—" He froze when he saw Emma and Rachel in the corner, both looking a little more serious than usual.
"Everything okay?" Finn asked, concern creeping into his voice.
Rachel turned to Finn, taking a deep breath. She had been wrestling with her own suspicions for days, and it was starting to get harder to ignore. She needed to talk to him about it, and now felt like the right time.
"Finn," she said, "I've been thinking. And... I know this might sound crazy, but I'm starting to wonder if something is off about my pregnancy."
Finn frowned, walking over to her. "What do you mean? Are you feeling sick again?"
"Yes," Rachel admitted, "but there's more to it than that. I don't know, Finn. My morning sickness is worse than I've heard it should be. And I keep feeling... strange. I'm not sure how to explain it."
Emma stepped in gently, placing a hand on Rachel's arm. "Rachel, I know it's hard to adjust to pregnancy—especially if this is your first time—but sometimes things can be more intense than you expect. Have you talked to a doctor?"
Rachel shook her head, her thoughts running wild. "No, I haven't. But I feel... different. Maybe it's just the stress of everything going on, with Quinn and all that's happening around us. But I need to know if there's something more going on."
Finn gave her a sympathetic look. "Rachel, if you're worried about it, we can go to the doctor together. We'll get you checked out, okay?"
Rachel nodded, still unsure of herself but relieved to know Finn would be there. She glanced over at Emma, who had a faraway look in her eyes. "Emma," Rachel said gently, "are you sure you're okay? I know it's not easy carrying triplets. You should get checked out too, if you're feeling off."
Emma hesitated for a moment before sighing. "I suppose I could use a check-up. I've been having these sharp pains now and then, and I thought maybe it was just my body adjusting... but I should probably get it checked. You're right."
The three of them decided to make an appointment together for the following morning. Rachel still couldn't shake the feeling that something was very different about her pregnancy—and now Emma seemed to have her own worries too. It was almost like fate had a twisted sense of humor, pulling the two women together in their shared uncertainty. Little did they know, things were about to get a whole lot more complicated.
The next day, they arrived at the doctor's office, all nerves and anticipation. Rachel sat in the waiting room, biting her nails, while Finn tried to distract her with light conversation. Emma, on the other hand, was silently scrolling through her phone, though Rachel could tell she was anxious too.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, their names were called. The doctor ushered them into the examination room and sat them down one by one.
"Alright, ladies," the doctor began with a warm smile, "let's take a look at what's going on with these pregnancies. Rachel, we'll start with you."
Rachel nodded, her heart pounding in her chest. She tried to breathe deeply as the doctor did a quick ultrasound.
As the image appeared on the screen, Rachel's eyes widened in surprise. "Wait... what?" she asked, unable to comprehend what she was seeing.
The doctor smiled. "Congratulations, Rachel. It looks like you're expecting twins."
Rachel blinked. "Twins?"
Finn, who had been standing beside her, stepped forward, his eyes wide. "Wait, are you sure? Twins?"
The doctor nodded. "Definitely. You're carrying two babies, Rachel. You'll have to make some adjustments in your life, but overall, everything looks healthy."
Rachel sat back in her chair, her mind racing. Twins. She was having twins. It made sense—sort of. The morning sickness, the feeling of being off. She wasn't just carrying one baby—she was carrying two. She turned to Finn, her face a mixture of shock and excitement.
"We're having twins," she said softly.
Finn's eyes lit up with a huge grin. "Twins! That's incredible, Rachel! I'm... I'm so happy!"
Before Rachel could respond, the doctor turned her attention to Emma. "Now, let's take a look at you, Emma."
Emma nodded and lay back as the doctor conducted her ultrasound. As the images appeared on the screen, Emma's eyes widened, her hand gripping the edge of the bed.
The doctor looked at the screen, then at Emma. "Well, Emma, it looks like you're carrying triplets."
Triplets. Emma blinked, a laugh escaping her lips. "Triplets? Are you sure? I mean... triplets? That's—"
The doctor nodded, smiling kindly. "Yes, definitely triplets. It's going to be a handful, but it's very manageable with the right care. You're going to need extra rest and support, but everything looks good so far."
Rachel gasped, staring at Emma in disbelief. "Triplets? Wow, Emma... You're going to be a super mom."
Emma laughed softly, though she still looked a bit stunned. "I don't even know what to say. Triplets... wow."
As the doctor finished up and gave them both instructions on how to proceed with their pregnancies, the three of them sat there for a moment in stunned silence.
Finally, Rachel let out a breath and turned to Finn. "Twins, Finn. We're having twins."
Finn smiled and squeezed her hand. "Twins. I love you so much, Rachel. And I can't wait to meet our little ones."
Then, Emma turned to Rachel, her smile growing wider. "Well, I think we're both going to need a lot of help with these pregnancies. Twins and triplets—this is going to be a wild ride."
Rachel nodded, her heart filled with an odd sense of relief. "Wild, but totally worth it."
As they left the doctor's office together, Rachel couldn't help but feel a new sense of excitement and wonder. Things were about to change, for all of them. And no matter how complicated or unexpected the journey might be, they were in it together.
And so, the adventure began: twins, triplets, and the wild, unpredictable ride of pregnancy.
