Six years after the events of library of ruina.

Howard richardson is seen standing in front of the grave of his deceased wife maria. Holding the hand of his six year old son nathan. They lost her to an all too common occurrence in the city…killed and organs taken by rats. The graveyard where her gravestone was was massive. Howard wishes he could get him and nathan away from this awful place. But he doesn't have the money to move into a wing. Nor does he want to risk the outskirts. However as he and nathan said their goodbyes to maria and left the graveyard. A letter on the ground got howard's attention. He opened it and saw an invitation for…the garden.

Howard wasn't sure about this. But looking at his son. He decided if there was a chance for a better life for him away from this place…then what the hell? He signed. And a gateway opened. Nathan hesitated at first but he trusted his dad's judgement and headed on through.

Ten years later.

Nathan enters greenwood high school. His dad was pushing him to go on a camping trip…he didn't want to at first but then some smartass in his class insulted him for being an anti social loser. And that convinced him to take his dads advice. Who knows he might actually make some friends. Or even get a girl…just remembering his dad saying that made him groan. On his way home. He saw the stores guarded by riot mechs and the heavily armored knights patrolling the streets. Nathan was always in awe when he saw them. It boggles his mind that anyone would break the law in the garden when doing so means facing those heavily armored juggernauts.

Unfortunately for nathan he came home to some unfortunate news that his dad got fired from his job due to budget cuts. But for him the news that his son is actually willing to go camping and socialize mattered more than what their going to do for cash at the moment…later that night. Howard spat his beer when he saw that his account had over 10 grand in it.

"What the hell!?" howard yelled as he checked where this came from…the bank he was an accountant for. The one he got fired from. He sat there scratching his head. "i guess this is a severance package…nah i doubt those asshole would give their employees over 10 grand for a severance package…eh not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth. We'll be alright…i have 10 grand and nathan is actually willing to socialize…this has been a good week. Minus getting fired." howard said as he turned off the computer and went to bed with a smile.

Six hours earlier.

The bank owner was thrown to a wall he looked up in fear of the three who broke into his office. Jon's aunt sayo and her two underlings yang and gin. Former members of the kurakumo clan now part of "the punishers of avarice." jon's two squads that were made to punish those who got greedy in the garden. The other was lead by the former shi assassin. Yuijin.

"You made a big mistake Mr. Pewterschmidt. Firing an employee cause they aren't doing their job right. Being a problem. Those are understandable reasons. But firing a bunch of employee who need that money to survive. Just to make your fat account even fatter. That kind of greed was one of the things the garden was to escape from." sayo said.

"Yet. idiots like you think you can slip under the radar…as if! The big cheese has got eyes everywhere bucko! So now you have a choice. Either each of your employees you fired gets a percent of that moolah in your account. Leaving it at zero. Or we cut off an arm and a leg. Your choice. If the answer isn't decided in 5 seconds. We do both! Tick tock you greedy bastard." yang said. It didn't take long for pewterschmidt to decide. He tried to fight back with security armed with guns. But they didn't last long. In this pathetic attempt to defy Jon's rules. He lost both his money and his limbs. The three headed to the bathhouse.

"You know, dame. I thought we would be doing nothing and getting paid for it. Considering how much your nephew hates greedy bastards like the corps. I thought no one would be stupid enough to pull stunts like this one." yang said.

"I'm sure he wouldn't have even set up the punishers of avarice if the fear of death was enough to stop such greedy men…greed can overwrite even survival instinct." gin said.

"Quite. But still it's better work than the kurakumo clan…using our swords to punish avarice is certainly more noble…that and my nephew pays us very well!" sayo said with a smile.

"One of the perks of working for family dame!" yang said with a laugh.

The next day.

At the campground. It was time for roll call before things could get started.

"Alright…erza tenshi?" ms kate asked.

"Yo!" erza yelled. Erza was the queen bee of the school hell. She pretty much is a princess considering she's the daughter of the white messiah and red mist. Two founders and creators of the garden. She has her mother's roughness and take no shit attitude. But she also has her father's kindness. But don't steal her strawberry cake or the rage of the red mist she inherited will come out hard. And you most likely won't survive.

"Orlando furioso?" ms kate asked.

"Here!" orlando yelled. The son of another two founding members of the garden. Roland and angelica. Erza and orlando have been friends for a long time. Of course being close to such a pretty and popular girl has made him a target for bullies. But he inherited and learned his parents fighting skills. So he would walk away from those skirmishes unharmed while the bullies would be on the ground seeing stars.

"Sarah wilingson?" ms kate asked.

"Present." she said. Nathan's neck quickly turned so fast it was a shock that he didn't give him self whiplash. Sarah is the daughter of isaac and the queen of hatred all grown up. And the girl nathan has a crush on. Her beautiful golden blonde lively bright white her eyes that were as green as an emerald drove him nuts. As he was staring at her. He was unable to hear his time for roll call.

"Nathan richardson?" ms kate asked annoyed obviously she repeated herself multiple times.

"Oh um present!" nathan yelled. Some of the students were surprised he showed up considering how anti social this guy was. After lunch. Everyone went swimming except for nathan who was just kicking rocks. He also noticed something odd…a little white bird with a red spot on its stomach was watching them. He shrugged. The whole forest was white so nothing about this place made sense.

Despite his hesitance before. He was enjoying himself. He got to spend the weekend with the girl he was crushing on. So what could go wrong?

At night. Erza and sarah were fast asleep in their tent when erza's phone rang. It was dad.

"What is it dad?" she asked tired.

"Sorry to wake you sweetie. But a violent abno is coming towards your campsite." jon said. Unknown to most residents of the garden several abnormalities have followed the queen of hatred's path of living among humans by disguising themselves as a human. The birds of the black forest we're given a new forest a second chance if you will. The white forest not only acts as a new home for the birds. It's also a place of judgement. An entryway to the garden for those who managed to survive the trek across the outskirts. The birds judge the heart of someone to see if they're worthy of becoming a resident of the garden. One of those deemed worthy was the lone survivor of the angel of ruina office beryl. But as expected not every abnormality was willing to become a resident of the garden. Creatures like nothing there and CENSORED could never stop killing. These abnormalities were dubbed "violent abnos." by jon. Erza sighed.

"Dammit…alright which one is it?" erza asked.

"Scarecrow searching for wisdom." jon replied.

"This will be quick then…good i'd like to go back to bed asap." erza said with a yawn. "Bye dad love you." erza said hanging up. She left the tent as quietly as possible to not wake up sarah. Once she was out. She summoned two red flaming broadswords before heading to deal with this problem.

Meanwhile nathan was waiting for another guy named tony to finish taking a leak. The guy didn't want to go out alone. And it didn't want to ask an adult for…personal reasons. As soon as Tony was done with his business. The two soon heard a crunch. And saw the violent abno scarecrow searching for wisdom. It started walking towards them. The two immediately made a run for it. Unfortunately for nathan he was the scarecrows chosen prey and he was cornered. However a sword soon came from what seemed like the sky. It was the weapon of judgement bird. Justitia.

"The scarecrow does not care if you're a child. You will be shown no mercy. There's only one way to survive this situation….fight!" a voice in nathan's head said. Not sure whose it was. But it was right. The only way to survive is to fight. So he took up the judgement bird's blade and with a deep breath he fought the scarecrow. During the fight. Nathan got several cuts from the creature's sharp farming tools for hands. And he was close to passing out. But he held his own long enough for erza to arrive. And take it down with one blow. With the adrenaline no longer flowing through his veins. Nathan passed out.

The next day nathan woke up with a nasty headache and was heavily bandaged. tony tried to explain what happened. But no one believed him. A Lot of these people may have once been in the city. But rarely was an abnormality seen. Distortions were more publicly known than abnormalities were. After all, a corps singularity is always its most guarded secret.

"WHAT HAPPENED!?" howard yelled with absolute worry over the phone. And now Nathan's headache is even worse along with his ears ringing. Erza watched this and giggled. It reminded her of her father when she was younger. Once she was done giggling. She put her index finger under her chin and her thumb to her cheek.

"Not only did he survive an encounter with an he level abno…he put up quite the fight with no suit and no armor. Scarecrow isn't exactly an aleph. But still tough. Those without suits or armor usually die pretty quickly. Yet he survived and softened him up enough for me to kill it a single blow." she thought to herself she then grinned looking at nathan. "I think I found some new young blood for the knights." she thought as she headed back to the lunch area for a bite.

Nathan soon joined afterwards of course many of the students either gasped or cringed at the bandages. Of how he nearly bled to death. He was nervous with all these stares. But he made a friend in tony. Howard came to pick up Nathan early. Erza enjoyed the nature a bit more before it was time to head home…for erza it was the massive tower that was the origin point for the garden. The library. She entered and headed for her father's office. She explained what happened and showed nathan on her school yearbook.

"So this is the kid…are you sure about this erza?" jon asked.

"He may be young…but from what I've seen with his encounter with wizard of oz jeeper creepers…he's got potential. He faced it with no armor and no suit. And usually that's a death sentence against an HE. but he survived and also managed to wound it enough for me to one shot it. Some training and some proper equipment. I can see him becoming a legend like you." erza said. Jon chuckled.

"Yeah sure…but let's give it a few days for those wounds to heal before we try to recruit him. And if he says no…well that's the end of it." jon said.

"Right…we're not the corps. We do not become them." erza said as she walked away and headed to her room.

"Are you sure about recruiting this nathan jon?" angela who was standing next to him asked.

"Erza's got a point. And besides having 16 year olds in the ranks isn't new. Erza and orlando are already in the ranks and there the same age." jon said.

"Erza has you and gebura's strength. While orlando has roland and angelica's strengths. This nathan is a regular kid. Are you sure you want to put him in the ranks knowing the kind of dangers the knights face?" angela asked. She had a point. It's not just the violent abnos the knights of the garden face daily. They also face the corps either wanting revenge on jon for ruining them like he did to W corp or taking the natural resources growing in the garden that have been long since extinct in the city. And none have been more persistent in stealing from the garden then jon's former employers. L corp. Who is still around But not for much longer considering that there aren't enough abnormalities to keep up the ever demanding energy quota of the city. Thus there on the verge of collapsing. In desperation. L corp have done everything to break into the garden and recapture the abnormalities that have decided to live in the garden. Mostly through propaganda about how abnormalities are among the populace. Of how jon is a psycho protecting monsters and how L corp want to protect human life but needs the help of the people of the garden. This hasn't really worked. Of course you get the occasional dumbass buying it hook line and sinker. Like that dumb girl at greenwood high named samantha. But everyone else brushes off the whole "abnormalities living among them." thing as a load of baloney. And the knights would always quickly take down the propaganda. Several of the knights would either laugh hysterically or get extremely pissed. As former l corp employees. They know damn well that l corps couldn't care less about human life. There lives were expendable compared to the quota. And know it's a load of bullshit.

"Yeah…i'm well aware angela. Which is why I'm going to let the kid know what he's in for if he decides to join. And if he says no…well understandable. If he says yes…we're not just going to throw him into the deep end of the pool like l corp did. Training first like all new recruits. But in any case. Status report." jon said angela looked through her notes.

"Right…as usual. Not much to report. Besides the punishers of avarice punishing the owner of the banks for his mass layoffs. A new teahouse and coffee shop have opened close by." angela said.

"I'm sure binah and chesed will be pleased. Anything else?" jon asked.

"I'm sure you and roland will be happy with this bit of news…a hamhampangpang has opened up as well." angela said.

"About fucking time! After 10 years of waiting! Would have been helpful earlier when gebura was pregnant with erza!" jon yelled excited.

"Please jon…don't remind me of that…I really want to forget that." angela said as she shivered. When gebura was pregnant with erza…it was not pretty. Jon angela and the sephirah get war flashbacks whenever they think of that time.

"Anything else to report?" jon asked.

"Nope..just goes to show how well things have been going…felt so long ago that i was reporting to the manager of how everything was going up in flames like every other day. Now i never much to report except some mundane things like the opening of restaurants and coffee shops…i quite like it to be honest. What you created is truly a garden of eden jon…" angela said before kissing jon on the cheek. And walking off to do some more of her daily routine. Jon smiled before stepping out to the balcony and enjoying the clean air of the green plants. Watching the people go about their daily lifes…

"6 years well spent." he said with a smile.
