Todoroki had been through her fair share of sticky situations before. However, no matter how bad the situation got, she always managed to find a way out using her fire or ice. However, when facing Mach Fist atop Musutafu Tower, she found that neither her fire nor ice were particularly helpful.

TAKUTO "MACH FIST" AIKAWA:
QUIRK: Mach Fist: Allows him to deliver punches at mach speed, but his arms get tired if he does it too often in a certain period of time.

Mach Fist's costume was a dark red bodysuit with white lightning bolts on the arms, a black leather belt with a gold buckle and black leather boots.

"I've heard of you before, Shoko!" said Mach Fist. "If you think your fire or ice are gonna stop me, then think again!"

Todoroki got into a fighting stance. "We'll see about that!"

Mach Fist charged at Todoroki, who fired a blast of ice at him. However, owing to the speed of his punch, he easily shattered the ice and very nearly hit her, but she managed to avoid it just in time.

"You're good, but you won't avoid me forever!"

Mach Fist charged up another punch, and this time, Todoroki shot a blast of flames at him, and this time, the air pressure created by the speed of the punch allowed him to cut a safe path through the flames, but again, she ducked aside to avoid getting hit.

"Stop dodging and fight me like a true hero!"

"As if you're fighting courageously too?"

Todoroki and Mach Fist continued their little dance of death. While Todoroki was very quick on her feet and managed to dodge every one of Mach Fist's attacks, more than a few of them came too close for comfort. Eventually, one of them just grazed her, but the freight train force of that attack was enough to spin her around like a top, and she would've very well been knocked off her feet were she not acrobatically inclined enough to brace herself and quickly get back on her feet.

"You're getting weaker!" said Mach Fist. "It won't be long before I emerge victorious!"

"We'll see about that! MICHIGAN ICE MONSTER SMASH!"

Todoroki readied an icy fist for Mach Fist, not particularly caring that his punches would outdo hers, just hoping to break every bone in his hand. They bravely charged at each other, and…just when Mach Fist was about to connect, he got snagged up by a mysterious tendril of black energy.

"What the…!? HEY, LET ME GO!"

"Not a chance, Mach Fist!"

As it turned out, the person who lassoed Mach Fist was none other than Izuku "Deku" Midoriya. Mach Fist thrashed around, hoping to break himself free of the energy wrapping around him, but it was no use.

"YOU BASTARD! YOU WON'T GET AWAY WITH THIS!"

"Tell it to the judge!"

Naturally, Todoroki couldn't help but be drawn in by the whole thing:

"Holy crap! What kind of Quirk is that?"

"This is Blackwhip," said Deku. "It not only allows me to restrain opponents, but I can swing across buildings like a spider. Oh, my name is Izuku Midoriya, but I'm better known as 'Deku'. You must be Shoko Todoroki, right?"

Todoroki nodded. "Yes! Nice to meet you, Mido…I mean Deku!"

Deku and Todoroki shook hands.

"Come on, let's get this guy to the police station!"

"You two won't get away with this!" said Mach Fist. "I WENT TO COLLEGE!"

Deku and Todoroki ignored Mach Fist and brought him to righteous justice.
