Now for the big one. The central command floor. This one was run by two sephirah. Tiphereth…or as i knew them. Enoch and lisa. The very kids that began the downfall of the old lab…of course their confused as to why i call them that. But this felt so wrong to me…not just for the fact that these two share the name cause the need to differentiated this two is pointless….not to mention every time enoch has a mental breakdown. He was crushed with a mechanical press…this disgusted me something fierce. Was this meant as a punishment for dying in the experiment ayin!? That it was his death that led to your precious carmen trying to take her own life? How was that his fault you selfish bastard!? I digress...more abnormalities.
The abnormalities i sent to lisa's floor all seem to have a magical girl theme to them. The queen of hatred, the king of greed. The knight of despair and the servant of wrath. All seem to have this magical girl theme. The queen of hatred was a major pain in the backside for me. As she seemed to turn into a giant snake monster and breech more often than not. That was until I hired isaac willingson. Unlike most people who do work with the queen of hatred. He seemed generally interested in her stories. Most of the employees interacted with her. Either just kept writing on their clipboard clearly not paying attention. Or listening in fear worrying that they'll end up snake food. He also opened up to her. Letting her know that he took this job to support his family…and I couldn't help but smile at that. In the city. It's hard to find chivalry like this. Most people in the city are out for themselves and themselves alone…most of my employees are the same. Desperate suckers in need of cash due to either a fixer office or someone even stronger having a boot on their neck. That or just being out for themselves. So it was nice to see someone who's doing this to support his family…that kind of chivalry has been long since dead. But the buzzer went off signaling isaac it's time to leave.
"Bye queen of hatred. I hope i get to see you again." isaac said with genuine happiness. Again that's rare for anyone who interacted with the queen of hatred.
"i almost forgot, before you go…" queen of hatred said as she walked over to isaac…and to my surprise kiss him on the cheek. Isaac left that room a stuttering mess. I laughed at how wholesome that was…human and abnormality romance huh? Eh. if it was with an abomination like nothing's there. Then i'd be a bit weirded out. But the queen of hatred looks like a fairly normal and cute girl…at least in her normal form. Like i said. I believe a man can love anyone he chooses. A woman. Another man. Hell they could date a ghost for all i care. As long as they deeply love that person. Then go for it i say. Besides i'm pretty sure if any of my employees could without becoming a puddle of pink slime. They would bang the hell out of melting love.
Speaking of melting love and nothing there. There the first two abnormalities added to enochs floor. Central is the big one is because unlike the others. This floor has two sections. Lisa runs the upper floor. While enoch runs the lower floor. Each got four cells to stuff an abnormality in. meaning this floor has 8 abnormality cells. Like I said. This floor was the big one. And yeesh. Talk about having it rough. As both are aleph ranked abnormalities. Essentially the top of the food chain. The most dangerous. And melting love sure proved that as she was the cause of a tt2 reset. Because of her gift. If things go well with certain abnormalities. They'll give the employee a gift. And melting love did make the employee stronger. Except for one problem…it's infectious. If the one who did work goes anywhere near anyone else. They'll catch a disease that will cause them to start oozing the same pink slime before becoming a puddle of it…so to prevent that. I had a quarantine room built right next to melting love's cell. And the one who does work on her is to immediately go in there after work. The only time they would be let out is in a breech. And the way is clear of anyone else. Cause the gift of melting love certainly is powerful. It's just that side effect that makes it a problem.
As for nothing there. It's a mishmash of body parts and stolen voices and mouths connected to rectangle. Not pleasant to look at. It's also one of the most dangerous if it breeches. Because this thing has a more powerful second form. When it breeches it will turn into a red egg. And when it hatches it becomes a tall crimson red humanoid figure with eyes and mouths all over and with guts hanging out. It also becomes more dangerous as it now has powerful mace hand that can morph into a blade. And unless my employees are wearing aleph ego suit. Yeah that things are slicing them in half! Which is why whenever it breeches I go to handle it personally.
The next abnormality is another aleph named CENSORED. It's a big mash of censor bars. At first i was confused but then i remember the the cognition filter. Apparently what i'm seeing isn't even the worst of it. The worst of it being hidden by a filter of the reality of the place for the sake of my sanity. If that's true. And considering anyone who works with it has a high chance of losing their sanity…so whatever abomination is behind those bars must be one of the most horrifying things in this facility. And remember this is the same place that has things like the singing machine today's shy look and nothing there! So that's saying something!
The final abnormality wasn't an aleph. It was a teth. But this one still holds a pretty big meaning to enoch. Bloodbath. A tub made of human skin with eyes on it. And as the name says it's a bathtub filled with blood. But what makes it tied to enoch Is it's origin. Carmen tried to take her own life by slitting her wrist in the bathtub filling it with blood. No doubt in my mind that this abnormality came from that event. To have the abnormality that was born from carmen's attempted suicide. Feels like more of ayins underserved mistargeted anger. It feels like that selfish prick is blaming enoch for carmen's suicide. Should have picked me for that douchebag! Things would have gotten less to hell if you did! But no! Can't put your cogito diver in risk could you!?
Enough of this venting. And what better way to calm my nerves to see the cute romance between an man and magical girl? I saw that the queen of hatred was about to lose her shit and become the big snake again. So i readied everyone. But that became null and void as isaac came running in and hugging her after she tried to say that the world didn't need her anymore.
"Don't say that, it's not true. This world does still need you, just because it's calm doesn't mean that you're not needed anymore. Heroes don't just leave once everything is calm, they stay to protect people when evil comes back." isaac said. As if the very facility itself was aiding his point. Nothing there breached…again.
"See? like right now we need you. If you won't do it for the facility then…Then do it for me, please?" isaac asked as he offered his hand. She smiled and took. Both him and her went off to the fight the evil that is nothing's there.
"Hmm…that was cute." i said with a smile. I ran off to the breech. And saw that isaac and the queen of hatred were fighting against nothing pretty hard.
"Goodbye" nothing there said as he swung his blade arm. Isaac protected the queen of hatred. I'm glad i gave him that adoration suit i extracted from melting love otherwise he would be in half right now. And I don't think the queen of hatred could take that. Before it swung again. I cut off it''s blade arm and shoved it through it's face as it turned around to attack me with it's other arm. It fell on it's back and melted into it's egg form. I ordered to clerks to roll it back to it's cell and also to get isaac medical attention. The ghost pain would be with him for a while. But the wound healed thanks to one of my many ways to make things safer around here. Nanomed health stations…stations that patch up any wound through nanotechnology. Press the two switches and let the needles into your neck. And let the nanobots do their healing magic…doesn't work for your sanity though. That's something I have to figure out. I'm also working on suits of powered armor I dubbed riot guards. The problem with them is the firepower. My plan was to strap three assault rifles to each of its arms. But where the hell am I supposed to get that!? Guns and bullets aren't cheap or easy to get your hands on in the city. Worry about that later. While i was watching the monitor i noticed that the queen of hatred got out of her cell and is in the infirmary. I heard her ask isaac if he had a girlfriend. Which he said no. which is fair. Hard to find someone who isn't a gold digger in the city. Or a butcher out for your flesh…fucking district 23.
Before i knew it. The queen of hatred jumped on top of him. I heard her yell "i love you!" and the two started making out. The queen of hatred soon started to take off her clothes…but she then looked at the camera.
"Hey manager! A little privacy please!?" the queen of hatred yelled. Looking annoyed.
"Sorry!" i yelled. I couldn't turn off the camera…so I decided now was as good a time as any to go on my lunch break.
On the final day of this week before i would move on to the next two floors to unlock and expand. The queen of hatred started vomiting. I think i knew what this was about…and sure enough after being examined the medical staff…malkuth gave us the news.
"The queen of hatred…is pregnant." malkuth said. Looking baffled as hell.
"What!?" yesod yelled, baffled at this. Isaac came running.
"Manager! Is she okay!?" isaac yelled.
"Yeah…we found out why she was getting sick." i said. As i approached him putting a hand on his shoulder "congratulations mr willingson you're going to be a dad soon!" i said.
"Huh!?" isaac yelled utterly confused…before coming to the realization of what I meant. Yeah looks the dots connected.
"I can't believe this…what were you thinking!? Sleeping with an abnormality. And you jon! You didn't even stop him!" yesod yelled.
"Why would i? I'm the manager not the king. I have no right to tell anyone who they can or can't love." i said.
"But this is with an abnormality…do you not see what's wrong with that?" yesod asked.
"Yesod…get a girlfriend. And when you actually have a leg to stand on. Then judge. As for right now you have no right to judge anyone as you died a virgin. And your most likely gonna stay a virgin. No matter how many times you come back." I said as I walked away. I could hear the laughter behind me. And the fuming gaze of yesod at the back of my head.
I went back to the central command floor. And found enoch on the verge of losing it. I did my best come in down and lisa wasn't saying anything.
"Thank you big brother!" enoch yelled…hearing that again was bittersweet. I looked at lisa as i approached darkness filled the room as i got a flashback to when enoch and list first came to the lab. A couple of orphans wandering the outskirts. They became like little siblings to me. I promised to adopt them when it was over…i promised to protect them.
"You didn't keep your promise…" lisa said as she mutated into a long armed box on top of a pile of dead enoch boxes…probably all the times she had to watch enoch be heartlessly crushed…damn you ayin..this time the handicap was that all immunity to qlippoth meltdowns were gone. So breaching was hell a lot easier for those things trapped in the facility. So i had to be quick to handle any breeches. But we made the quota. And i ran towards the unconscious metal boxes and like before when I touched them. A flashback occurred. It was when the candidate for the cogito injection was being decided. I flipped my shit when the suggestion.
"Are you fucking serious!? Let me do it! I swam in the stuff. I have no doubt I can survive!" i yelled.
"You have the highest chance…but that isn't a guarantee jon. You're too important for this risk!" ayin yelled.
"Oh because you can't afford to lose your cogito diver! That means you're willing to throw away the life of an innocent child! Because he matters to the project less!? That's a vile way to look at it ayin…carmen…i'm begging you. Let me do this! I can survive! I know I can!" i yelled. Carmen was clearly thinking long about this.
"Ayin…is right jon. We need you...enoch will be our subject." carmen said.
"CARMEN!" I yelled. Utterly shocked and horrified she would go through with this.
"You heard her..Carmen is the one in charge. And therefore your objection means nothing." benjamin said. I stormed out of that room.
"If enoch dies…i won't forgive any of you!" i yelled as i slammed the door. It then cut to when i buried enoch…the three assholes running this operation came to me.
"I'm sorry about enoch…but we have to push forward. So that his sacrifice wasn't for nothing." ayin said. My teeth gritted in anger. I then swang the shovel at his face. Knocking him to the ground. Shocking carmen and benjamin.
"It has been for nothing you fucking asshole! Enoch is dead! And nothing came out of it. No progress was made. The research is still dead in the water!" i yelled i raised the shovel to smash his face in some more. Only for carmen to stop me the look i shot her no doubt scared her to her core. It was a look full of pure hatred and malice…like a similar ghost that's been following me in this facility. "I promised enoch and lisa i would protect them…you made me a liar carmen…i will never forgive you…you ayin and benjamin…i hate you…i really hate you. Keep going with your doomed research…made by an activist fool blind to reality. How many people will have to die before you realize you failed?" i said as i walked back in the facility.
The flash back ended. And i was on my knees and in front of both enoch and lisa.
"I'm sorry…i'm so sorry. I promised to protect you both and i failed…" i said as i put my face to the ground. "Enoch lisa…i prey for your forgiveness. Even though i don't deserve it…not big brother who failed to protect his little siblings deserves forgiveness." i said as the tears streamed down my face. I heard nothing…but felt a cold metal wrap around me. I got up and saw both enoch and lisa hugging me.
"No…i'm sorry. I thought you didn't try…that you just forgot about us and your promise…but you didn't..you fought your hardest trying to protect us…and the promise you made to us…you never forgot it…you never forgot us. I'm sorry for not understanding the pain you were in…we were both grieving…don't think because i forgive you that you can slack on your manager work!" lisa said. I chuckled that she's still the same tiny tsundere.
"Big bro…i can't forgive…how can i forgive when it wasn't your fault? I willingly joined that experiment…i know you were against it but i thought i had to do something…i'm sorry i made you break your promise…even with what happened to us…your still our big brother" enoch said…i felt a flood gate opened in my chest i held the two and cried…
"You done crying you big baby?" lisa said. I didn't notice it when i was crying. But i now saw that the two were now human…guess i couldn't see the light through tears.
"Yes…enoch lisa…thank you…and i'm sorry." i said.
"You've been forgiven already! So quit crying! And get working the sooner you finish! The sooner we can get out of here! And when we do! You better keep your promise you made to us years ago!" lisa yelled. I wiped the tears and smiled.
"Of course..my little sister!" i said with a smile. I went back to my office. A smile on my face.
"You seem brighter manager…did something happen with tiphereth?" angela asked.
"Enoch and lisa. They both have names. Don't forget that." i said. Angela was surprised of the offense i took from that.
"Apologies…so how do you feel?" angela asked.
"Good…like a massive weight has been taken off of me." i said. Angela smiled a genuine smile…i guess she really cares about me…i looked to my right and saw the eyebal disappear again…after that flashback…i think i know what eye ghost is…that eye…is my hatred given form. Mimicking the look of hatred and rage i gave to carmen that day when everything began to go wrong…i'm being haunted..by my own malice.
