Chapter 12
Before anyone could blink, Saturday had arrived.
Blossom jolted awake before sunrise, her body drenched in cold sweat. Her chest rose and fell rapidly as nerves wrapped around her like a vice, making it nearly impossible to breathe.
This is it.
The Junior-Senior Party wasn't just a school event—it was her test. The first step in proving herself worthy of being the next student council president. And if it failed?
She failed.
Blossom curled up into herself, trembling.
Luckily, she wasn't alone.
Robin had slept over, calling off work so she could help Blossom with the final touches for the party. Her and Bubbles helping Mr. Crane with the catering and ensuring everything was delivered on time. Buttercup had even called off from her job at Varsity Gear, opting to help set up with the guys, since her strength would speed up the heavier lifting.
But none of that mattered if Blossom couldn't even move.
Robin and Bubbles woke up groggily, stretching and rubbing their eyes before noticing their redheaded friend curled up in bed, wide-eyed and shaking. Immediately, they rushed over, concern flickering across their faces.
"Blossom, chill out!" Robin said, placing a hand on her back. "You're gonna be fine. The party's gonna be great."
Blossom frowned, gripping the blanket tighter. "I can't calm down! This is it. This is like… my trial! If I screw this up, I might as well forget about being committee president."
Bubbles let out a soft sigh before floating over and wrapping Blossom in a warm hug. "You've got this. We got this."
Robin followed suit, leaning in to squeeze her shoulders. "Exactly. You're not in this alone, Bloss. Buttercup, Bubbles, and I are gonna make sure tonight is awesome."
Blossom exhaled slowly, some of the tension leaving her body. She smiled, finally hugging them back.
"Thanks, you guys."
After a few more moments of reassurance, the girls rolled out of bed and changed into comfortable outfits.
Blossom opted for a crisp pair of jeans and a pink, yellow, and white blouse, the professional yet casual look making her feel slightly more in control. Bubbles went with cozy blue sweatpants adorned with playful duck and bubble patterns, pairing them with a white tank top. She tied her hair in a high ponytail, loose curls framing her face. Robin wore black workout shorts and a white crop top, her toned midriff exposed as she secured her long dark hair into a sleek ponytail.
Once dressed, Robin wasted no time storming into Buttercup's room without knocking.
"Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey!" she sang, startling Buttercup so badly that she fell out of bed with a loud thump.
Buttercup groaned, rubbing her face as she looked around in confusion.
Robin grinned. "Get up, Sleeping Beauty. Blossom's heading to the park soon to check everything over, and Bubbles and I are meeting Mr. Crane for the last of the catering prep. We're getting breakfast first—want in?"
Buttercup, still half-asleep, lifted a lazy thumbs-up before dragging herself to the bathroom. After brushing her teeth and splashing cold water on her face, she threw on a black cropped tank top, camo workout shorts, and her signature scowl. She loosely braided her hair, leaving a few strands messy in the front as she yawned, still barely awake.
By the time the girls arrived at their favorite breakfast spot, they slid into a booth and browsed the menu while Robin waved the waiter down.
"My treat," Robin announced. "Order whatever."
Before their drinks even arrived, the Rowdyruff Boys walked in, drawing attention effortlessly.
Brick, leading as always, had his red mullet tucked under his signature backwards cap, a smirk already tugging at his lips. He wore black jeans and a black graphic t-shirt, looking effortlessly laid-back but still commanding attention without trying.
Boomer followed, his blond hair slicked back, showing off his piercings. His light blue t-shirt and gray joggers gave him a relaxed but put-together look, the combination making his bright blue eyes stand out even more.
And then there was Butch—his wolf-cut hair messy in a way that somehow worked, dark black layers falling over his forehead. He was dressed in a fitted muscle tank, his toned arms and tattoos on full display, paired with ripped black jeans that only added to his effortless bad-boy charm. He looked like someone who had either just gotten into a fight or was about to start one.
Robin barely had time to react before she was engulfed in a three-way hug, the boys crushing her between them.
"Morning, girls. Robin, what's the plan?" Brick asked, finally pulling away, his smirk never fading.
Blossom, arms crossed, raised an eyebrow. "You invited them?"
Robin nodded casually. "Yeah. They offered to help Bubbles and me with catering."
Buttercup shot Butch a skeptical glance. "You're gonna help with cookies and cakes? What happened to your bad boy image?"
Butch grinned, running a hand through his messy wolf-cut hair. "Women love a man who can bake."
Boomer, standing next to him, nodded enthusiastically. "Yup, yup! I cook and bake for the family all the time. It's super manly. Right, Brick? Right, Butch?"
Blossom observed them with mild irritation. Even if they weren't villains anymore, they still had that untamed, chaotic energy.
Buttercup snorted. "Manly? Sure. Whatever helps you sleep at night."
Boomer pouted, crossing his arms. "It is manly."
Robin laughed, shaking her head. "Alright, kids—let's focus. We've got a busy day ahead."
Blossom, still unsure about trusting the Rowdyruffs with something as important as catering, exhaled slowly and pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Well," she muttered, "this'll be interesting."
The boys all scooted into the booth with the girls, much to Blossom and Buttercup's dismay. With the Rowdyruffs now wedged in beside them, the once-spacious seating suddenly felt cramped.
Robin, however, didn't seem to mind. She leaned her elbows on the table, looking over the menu with interest.
"So, what's everyone getting?" Butch asked, grinning as he glanced at Robin.
Robin perked up. "I'm getting a stack of pancakes with bacon, sausage, hash browns, and a side of fruit."
Boomer immediately sat up straighter. "That sounds awesome. I'll get that too!"
"Same," Butch added.
Brick shrugged. "Why not? Make it four."
Blossom raised an eyebrow, her gaze flickering between them. Something about the way all three boys were copying Robin's order made her suspicious.
Are they… in love with her or something?
Beside her, Buttercup had the same thought, narrowing her eyes slightly. Do these idiots have a secret crush on Robin? Are they… fighting to impress her?
Bubbles, meanwhile, was unbothered, simply happy that the boys were being nice to Robin for once.
Boomer turned to her with a grin. "We'll cover your meal, Robin."
Robin's eyebrows lifted slightly in surprise before she smiled. "Thanks, guys."
The waitress came back around, jotting down their orders and taking note of the boys' drink preferences. Bubbles chose a veggie omelet, while Blossom went for bacon and eggs. Buttercup, of course, went all in, ordering a steak and eggs platter.
The moment the words left her mouth, Butch immediately changed his order to match hers, much to his brothers' amusement.
Boomer snorted. "Dude, really?"
Butch simply shrugged. "Steak sounds good."
Brick rolled his eyes but said nothing.
As they waited for their food, Robin turned toward Blossom, tilting her head. "What's the deal with entertainment? Do you know what the plan is?"
Blossom took a sip of her coffee before shaking her head. "Nope. Jake and Daisy said they've got it handled. There are students doing music, DJing, singing… It's a lot."
Bubbles clapped her hands together excitedly. "Oh my gosh, I can't wait! This party is going to be amazing!"
Before long, the waitress returned, arms full of plates, and soon the table was filled with food.
The moment the food hit the table, the boys devoured their plates like they hadn't eaten in days. Robin giggled as she watched them practically inhale their meals, patting their arms in amusement.
"Guys, slow down," she teased.
Shockingly, they actually listened, albeit begrudgingly, slowing their pace ever so slightly.
Bubbles blinked in surprise. Since when do the Rowdyruffs actually listen to someone?
Meanwhile, Blossom was only half-aware of the world around her, her mind spinning as she mentally checked off everything that still needed to be done. Buttercup, however, paid no mind to anyone, chomping down on her steak with zero concern for table etiquette.
Once the food was gone, Boomer slapped some cash down for his brothers' meals, along with Robin's and Bubbles'. Brick covered Blossom's, and Buttercup, ever independent, paid for herself.
Butch rolled his eyes, grumbling as he shoved his wallet back into his pocket before anyone noticed he'd even taken it out.
With everything settled, the group stepped out of the restaurant, only for Blossom to immediately shift into leader mode.
"Buttercup," she started, her tone all business, "I need you at the venue setting up chairs and tables. Make sure everything is cleared out—no tripping hazards, no dangerous objects. You'll be in charge of all the heavy lifting."
Buttercup gave her a lazy salute before taking off, disappearing into the sky within seconds.
Blossom then turned to Robin and Bubbles.
"The food needs to be ready and delivered to the park at least thirty minutes to an hour before the party starts. If you need to oversupply, do it." She then shifted her gaze to the Rowdyruffs. "And you three—make sure everything gets delivered on time."
Robin gave a thumbs-up. "Got it. We'll make sure it's all perfect."
Brick simply smirked, tucking his hands into his pockets. "Yes, ma'am."
Blossom adjusted her glasses before continuing. "I'll be at the venue arranging everything—checking placements, making sure decorations are set, and keeping up with social media. We need to keep the Senior and Junior class excited for this. If anything goes wrong, people need to see this party as the event of the year."
Robin chuckled, nudging Blossom's shoulder. "You, of all people, getting people hyped for a party? Never thought I'd hear that."
Blossom rolled her eyes but didn't argue.
Bubbles, eager to get started, grabbed Robin by the arm and flew off with the boys, ready to meet Mr. Crane and finalize the food preparations.
It was eleven in the morning now. The party started at eight.
Even with days of preparation, Blossom still felt like she wasn't ready at all.
Bubbles and Robin landed gracefully in front of the school, the boys towering over them as they touched down. Robin, full of energy, perked up and skipped ahead, her hand intertwined with Bubbles'. The two girls giggled as they made their way to the home economics room, where the delicious scent of freshly baked bread and warm spices lingered in the air.
As they stepped inside, Robin's face flushed pink as she spotted Mr. Crane standing by the kitchen counter. He was dressed in a pair of fitted blue jeans and a crisp white button-up shirt, the sleeves rolled up just enough to show his forearms. His dark hair was slightly tousled, and for a moment, Robin forgot what she was doing.
Mr. Crane greeted them with a warm smile, but his expression quickly shifted into a frown the second he noticed the boys trailing behind them. His eyes flickered between Brick, Boomer, and Butch, as if silently questioning why they were there.
Robin, snapping out of her trance, quickly walked over and beamed up at him.
"Hi, Mr. Crane! We're ready to start baking and cooking! What's on the menu?"
Bubbles nodded excitedly beside her, eager to hear the finalized selection of food.
Mr. Crane's gaze lingered on the boys for a second longer before he let out a small sigh and focused on the girls instead.
"Well, I took everything you said into consideration. You wanted something elegant yet fun, so here's what we're preparing for tonight's party."
Crane handed the group a paper.

Bubbles grinned. "Oh my gosh, the macaron idea is so cute! And a pasta bar? Everyone's going to love that!"
Boomer whistled, clearly impressed. "Damn, this is some fancy stuff. We're feeding high schoolers, not royalty."
Butch smirked. "Yeah, where's the greasy pizza and cheap chips?"
Mr. Crane shot them a pointed look. "This is a formal event regardless of how it is portrayed. We're keeping it elevated but approachable."
Brick crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow. "So what do you need us to do?"
Mr. Crane considered this for a moment before sighing. "Fine. Since you're here, you can help with the prep work. You three can handle the pasta station, breadsticks, and making up the drinks."
Butch groaned, "Can't wait."
Robin grinned mischievously. "Aww, what happened to 'women love a man who can bake?'"
Butch scowled as Boomer and Brick smirked at him.
Bubbles clapped her hands. "Alright, let's get started!"
And with that, the group got to work, preparing for what was sure to be an unforgettable night.
Buttercup wiped the sweat from her forehead, her muscles aching as she hauled heavy equipment and stacks of bricks across the park. Her green tank top clung to her skin from all the hard work, and she was starting to feel irritated as Blossom micromanaged every single detail. She understood that everything had to be perfect, but did her older sister really need to hover over every task like a drill sergeant?
Still, despite her bossy tendencies, Blossom was fair. She had brought snacks and drinks for everyone and insisted they take well-earned breaks. It helped ease some of the tension as Buttercup continued setting up tables and clearing out any unwelcome creatures lurking in the park—snakes, stray raccoons, and even a stubborn squirrel that refused to leave one of the food stations.
Meanwhile, Blossom flew around with her checklist in hand, checking off each final detail. Her phone buzzed, and she pulled it out to see a message from Bubbles and Robin. As she read through the finalized menu, a smile stretched across her face.
"This is perfect," she murmured to herself, feeling a wave of relief. It matched everything exactly as she envisioned—classy yet fun.
Looking around the park, she saw the committee members putting the finishing touches on decorations and seating areas. The large fairy lights were being strung across the trees, giving the space an enchanting glow. A section was cleared for dancing, and the DJ booth was set up on a raised platform, ready to go.
With everything in place, she checked the time—it was already five o'clock.
Blossom clapped her hands to get everyone's attention. "Alright, everyone! Great job today! You're all dismissed—go home, freshen up, and get ready. The party starts at eight, and entertainment kicks off at nine!"
A cheer erupted from the committee members, high-fives and congratulations passing around as everyone celebrated a job well done.
Buttercup stretched, rolling her shoulders as she walked over to Blossom. "I'm heading to the school to check on the food."
Blossom nodded. "Good idea. I'll come with you."
The two sisters took off, flying toward the school's home economics classroom, where the rich aroma of freshly baked bread, herbs, and spices filled the air.
As they landed inside, Bubbles and Robin greeted them with excited hugs. "Everything's just about done!" Robin beamed.
From across the room, the Rowdyruff Boys were pulling trays of baked goods out of the ovens, revealing flour-dusted forearms as they moved efficiently around the kitchen. The room felt warm from all the cooking, and the smell was absolutely mouthwatering.
But just as Blossom was about to instruct them on what needed to be packed, she noticed the boys grabbing their things.
"Wait, what? Where are you going?" she asked, raising a suspicious brow.
Brick grinned, adjusting his hat. "We have obligations too. We need to get ready and pick up our equipment."
"Equipment?" Buttercup echoed. "For what?"
Butch smirked, "You'll see."
Boomer flashed his signature bright smile. "We'll meet you at the party!"
Before the girls could protest, the boys headed for the door, but not before Robin hugged them all goodbye.
"I'll be there late! I can't wait to see what you girls are wearing." She winked at the girls before following the boys out.
Once they were gone, Mr. Crane helped the girls carefully pack up the food and drinks, making sure everything was secure. He handed them a few extra containers. "Make sure you enjoy yourselves tonight. You worked hard for this."
The girls thanked him before heading home. Since they didn't want to risk leaving the food unattended at the park, they decided to store it safely in their kitchen before getting ready.
This was it. The night to remember.
Each sister disappeared into their rooms, ready to dress in their own unique styles, preparing for one the biggest parties ever.
