Hello people! I just found out that they're bringing Donkey Kong Country Returns to the switch and I was so excited! So I decided that I wanted to make a story about Donkey Kong Country Tropical, mainly because I haven't seen any fan fictions about his game which I don't understand because this game is outstanding!!! Anyway if you don't know the enemies names then you should read the creature I for action because I'm just gonna be naming them without saying what they look like! Anyways enough of this, onto the story!

Chapter one

The sun shone brightly in the sky. The birds chirped happily in the trees and animals of all different types roamed the island freely. But today was a special day. Today was Donkey Kong's birthday! In DK's treehouse, Diddy, Dixie and Cranky were all there with Donkey, celebrating the big ape's special day.

Unfortunately, the other Kongs couldn't make it to Donkey's birthday though. Funky was on holiday at another island, Candy had work to do at Bluster's and the rest just had stuff on. Donkey didn't mind though, at least he had some people to celebrate his big day.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR DKKKKKKKKK... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!" Diddy, Dixie and Cranky sang (although Cranky sang it less enthusiastically). "Aw, thanks guys! Ya didn't have to!" Donkey Kong said with a smile. Everything seemed to be going perfectly. But unbeknownst to them, there was something far off in the distance... in fact a lot of somethings. And it started with a balloon flying out of the windowless window.

A penguin named Tucks looked out from his lovely telescope (which he adored so much because his mother got it for him as a Christmas present), studying the unkown island that their ships were approaching. He saw trees, birds, green beavers (which was kinda weird for him) but none of that was very important.

But then he spotted something. A balloon flew close to ship. He looked to where it had came from. Then he saw it. A small house. It had the word KONG on it. And Tucks instantly recognised that name from the stories he had heard. Frantically, he ran up to their king. "Boss, Boss!" Tucks yelped. "The Kongs! I have spotted them! On this island!"

The giant figure in front of him chuckled darkly. "Very well." He boomed. "Bring me my horn!" Several penguins picked up a giant and heavy horn. As heavy as it was, they dropped it at the giant walrus's feet and saluted him. "Ready to freeze, Lord Fredrik!" One of the penguins reported. Lord Fredrik let out a deep, even louder laugh. "This island will soon be mine."

Lord Fredrik bent down to his horn and blew on it with all his might, a mist of ice and freezing air blowing out of it. About a few seconds later, a colossal ice dragon launched itself out of the horn, heading straight towards Kongo Bongo Island...

Meanwhile, back in DK's treehouse, the Kongs were still celebrating happily, knowing nothing at all of the danger that lurked close by. As Donkey Kong prepared to blow out his candles on his banana cake, he noticed something unusual.

A small snowflake floated throw the window, gliding gracefully through the air and landed right on the top of the candle. Dew to the coldness of the snowflake, it almost instantly put out the candle. "A snowflake? In the middle of summer? Something ain't right..." Donkey Kong exclaimed. He turned his head towards the window. Was that something on the ocean...?

Donkey Kong walked out of the house, curious of what this thing on the ocean was. The other Kongs followed close behind. Donkey Kong squinted at the object. Was that a ship? "That's not a pirate ship..." Diddy said, who had also noticed the ship sailing towards their island.

"Then it can't be K. Rool... so who is it?" Donkey asked. Nobody got the chance to answer, as suddenly, an enormous dragon made out of ice seemed to come out of nowhere and raced towards the island, turning the ocean into ice as it went along. "HOLY BANANA BIRDS WHAT IS THAT!?" Donkey yelped. Suddenly an amazingly strong wind blew at the Kongs, knocking them off their feet.

They held on to the railings of the tree house, desperately holding on for dear life. "What's going on!?" Dixie shouted. One by one, the Kongs lost their grip on the railings and were sent flying through the air, far away from the island they called home.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" They all screamed together. As soon as they were gone, the snowmad's ships put out their wings and sailed through the air and landed right on top of the mountain, Gorilla Glacier. The ice dragon flew around the island, a cloud of ice and mist following it.

It soared around the island faster and faster, completing covering it with ice and snow. Dark clouds formed above the island. Innocent animals looked around, confused and scared, wondering just what to do. The Kongs were gone, and now the Snowmads were in control...
