It was after Dexter had lost the Crown Industries to the mischievous Dick Hardly, that he, Lincoln and Lucy, and the Powerpuff Girls decided to plot against the evil scientist, find something incriminating enough to use against him and take back the company.
"First, we need to secure my grandfather's belongings, which are hidden somewhere within the building," Dexter explained as he and the others looked over the blueprints of the place. "No doubt that Hardly would want to get them all for himself."
"True enough." Blossom said. "We've seen him try and take advantage of ourselves before."
"Those clones of us were not even the cruelest things he did." Buttercup remarked with fury."
"Clones?" Lincoln asked as he and Lucy were intrigued.
"Yeah. He tried to buy us off from the professor, as if we were products, and then decided to clone us in order to get his way."
Blossom also added "He nearly killed us by draining us of the chemical X in our systems, and even turned himself into a mutant monster."
"The clones he made though..." Bubbles also said. "...They realized how awful Hardly was and...sacrificed themselves to stop Hardly so that we could live..."
The girls could never forget something like that. In some way, they felt bad for their own facsimiles, despite how...disturbing they were in appearance; they had just never learned how to love.
"...Anyway, we had thought we'd see the last of Hardly when he was destroyed with his factory." Blossom finished.
Lucy replied "I remember reading about that. Nobody could have made it out of there alive."
"Hm. I wonder how he could've survived that." Lincoln asked.
Dexter then said "That's what I intend to find out. I will allow him to corrupt all that my grandfather worked so hard to build with his bad ideas."
The rest of the kids look at Dexter and mixed expression of surprise and awe.
"Your grandfather." Lincoln said.
"...Honorary. In all but blood." Dexter explained. Hethen points back to the highest point of the building's blueprints.
"Now, if there was anywhere that Mr. Crown would have hidden his resource, it would be here, in his old office. We just need to get through the doors, Blossom and her sister can take care of the security system..."
Buttercup chuckles before cracking her "knuckles" while Blossom and Bubbles share a smirk/smile.
"And then, we'll go from there." Dexter finished.
"But how are we gonna get past the main entrance?" Lucy asked, to which Dexter smirked.
"Leave that to Computress...and my sister."
Meanwhile, at the main entrance, two security robots were standing firmly while keeping watch for any unauthorized personnel. They then heard the sound of an engine revving, to which they moved their heads to the right, but didn't have time to react when a pink, futuristic-designed car (G1 Arcee's vehicle mode) crashed into them. It was driven by Computress and Deedee.
"Wooo! Hope everyone saw that because we are NOT doing it again!" Deedee squealed joyfully."
Lincoln was slack-jawed, Lucy was Lucy, the girls all had looks of shock, and Dexter had a smirk on his face.
"She's been a pain since the day I was born, but at least she comes through in the end." He said. "Now, let's get inside, shall we?"
Heading back into Crown Industries, the kids stuck to the plan by either sneaking past security bots or the PPG smashing them out of the way. They then used the elevator up to Old Man Crown's old office, to which Dexter still had the key and they were welcomed inside.
"We need to make this quick." He said. "Look for anything out of the ordinary."
They searched around the office, books, shelves, and even fine art pieces. Before he had invested in such a big company, Radley Crown was an art dealer, it's how he made his money. Dexter was at the table, where he looked at an old photo of his honorary grandfather solemnly before finding files belonging to Dick Hardly. They contained all the information about his illegal scandals and other activities.
"This is it, guys." He said greatly. "Now, we just need to get out of here and take it to the police."
"Hey, what's this?" Lincoln asked while looking at a bust of Dinomutt the Dog Wonder, it was made of silver and had a glowing blue light underneath. When he reached for it, it flipped back like a lever and a secret doorway opened up in the bookshelves to reveal a hidden lift... that sported the emblem of the Blue Falcon. The kids were in awe by the sight of it, except for Dexter, who had a neutral expression on his face, knowing full well what this meant.
However, their shock was disrupted by the sounds of the office doors being knocked and bashed on, and the voice of a certain snobby scientist could be heard as well.
"Hey, who's in there?!" yelled Dick Hardly. "Open this door now! OPEN IT!"
Lincoln and the others looked around and saw that there was no other way out of the office, except through the lift. Without hesitation, did Dexter started pushing his friends towards it.
"Quickly, everyone. Through here!"
"Whoa! Wait! Dexter!"
But, they were already shoved inside, and Dexter pressed the button to close the doors, just as the office doors were broken down and Dick Hardly with his security bots made it inside. The kids soon felt extreme G-Force as they were heading down the floors of the building at High Speed. That is, until they hit a stop, and found themselves down to a floor that was even directly below the building's basement. It was a hidden lair that was unlike anything they had ever seen, a futuristic suite that was filled with lush furniture, yet high-tech crime-fitting gear; bird shaped boomerangs and shurikens, grappling hooks, flash bang/smoke grenades, all sporting the Blue Falcon symbol. There was even a huge, futuristic high-tech hovercraft-like vehicle, with the hood of it in the shape of a bird. And last but not least, a huge supercomputer that also had bookshelves surrounding it. Everything in this place had one symbol, and therefore one connection to one person.
Once again, did the kids find themselves in amazement and surprise, to see that they're standing in the Blue Falcon's Lair. And all of it was right under Crown Industries.
"...Dexter..." Lincoln and the girls turn to the young scientist, who stares at everything with the most serious expression on his face before walking over to the Supercomputer, lowering his head before his friends. "...This place..."
The young scientist finally spoke "...My Grandfather...was one of the greatest heroes that this world has ever known..." And he then looked up to his friends with an expression of fury. "And I refuse to let anyone sully his memory. Destroy all his hardwork."
"...We will stop Hardly, Dexter." Blossom said to comfort her friend. "We have the evidence. We just need to find a way out of here."
"I don't think you'll be going anywhere, little brats."
Dick's voice made them turn to see the evil scientist standing between them and the Lift, along with half a dozen security bots lined up and blocking their first way out. Hardly was looking at the place with his own expression of admiration but with a sense of greed, anguish...and hatred.
"...I always knew that the old man was holding out on me. I worked with him for so long, yet he never showed me anything like this." He said with a slight snarl, with a mocking tone. The kids were looking a him with heavy glares as his face turned to that of an opportunist, who just found his latest investment. "...It'll make it all the more satisfying when I make a fortune out of this stuff."
"You won't be getting your slimy hands on any of this equipment!" Dexter yelled. "We have the evidence necessary to put you away for good!"
But Hardly barely looked phased, smiling even at the kids evilly as he replied. "I could've used your big brain, kid. Cut it out of your skull and put it into one of my machines." He then points to Lincoln and Lucy. "This...albino and the goth chick A shame that none of you will be able to leave here alive."
And that is when something horrendous happened. Dick groaned and growled as if he were in pain, and that is when he started to change with his lab coat ripping, and his size increased a hundredfold. The kids stood wide-eyed in shock and horror as his skin turned green, spikes grew out of his shoulders, blue tentacles burst out of his chest, his ponytail turned into a tentacle, his normal glasses were gone, his eyes turned black (while acting similar to normal sunglasses), and the only bit of his clothing left are the remains of his pants.
"...So that's how he survived," Buttercup muttered.
Once again, Dick Hardly became a huge mutant monster, as a result of the Chemical X in his system. He roared furiously before smashing his own security bots with his giant hands.
"No one will remember you, pathetic kids...!" He growled, but that is when the Powerpuff Girls sprung into action, flying fast and striking hard around the mutant scientist. Dexter ran over to the supercomputer and typed in some commands that he was certain would gain him access to the lair's defense systems. And so it did, with turrets coming out of walls, pillars, and ceiling, all aiming for Hardly as the girls backed off and let the Lair's defenses do their work. But they weren't enough to even puncture the mutant's skin as he soon smashed through those as well and then sent the tentacles in his chest out at the girls, who tried to fight, using their heat vision, brute force and special abilities that they could conjure. But they soon got caught and were trapped by the monster.
"Ha, ha, ha! I'm gonna miss you girls...you would've made fine products." Hardly mocked the heroes as Lincoln and Lucy watched in a panic.
"Dexter!" Lincoln said to the young scientist, who was furiously typing on the control panel.
"I got one round left." Dexter replied, as he finished, and at the click of a button, something rose up out of the computer's panel. A high-tech-looking watch with, of course, the Blue Falcon's symbol on it. Dexter knew well what it was and would've reached for it, had it not been for the tremor's hardly was causing as he tore the Lair apart. The kids lost their footing and landed on the ground as the watch slipped from the panel...and onto Lincoln's wrist. There was humming, a ringing, and then the sounds of electrical systems booting up, all coming from the watch as Lincoln saw it glow in a bright blue light. That's when everything still functional in the Lair reacted, activating as the kids looked over to see Lincoln looking down at the watch, flipping open the emblem and see a holo-display.
"NEW SUCCESSOR FOUND. WELCOME, BLUE FALCON."
"Say what?!"
And that is when machines came up and acted like they were scanning him, and then tubes came down and around Lincoln, acting as if they were hosing, but he felt nothing but something...built around him. And that is when he saw, a blue body suit appear around him, with golden bracers, boots with dual bird talons, a golden high-tech utility belt with the falcon's insignia, as well as the falcon symbol on his chest, emblazoned in gold with a red F on it. A blue cape materialized, flowing behind Lincoln's back as the last thing that was built on him was a Falcon's head-shaped cowl, with a visor appearing over his eyes, which made them glow.
Dexter and Lucy stood back in surprise, to see that Lincoln had become the new Blue Falcon
"WOAH!" He exclaimed. "Did that really just happen?!"
Dick Hardly saw this and glared as he threw the Powerpuff Girls away.
"You're not worthy of that!" He roared
"Yeah? Well, neither are you!" Lincoln retorted back at him. Angered, Hardly sent his tentacles out at the new Blue Falcon, who suddenly reacted with a swift dodge. Lincoln didn't see himself do that, but it was like the suit acted on its own. It happened again when Hardly tried to smash him with his fist, but Lincoln just himself moving much faster and more agile than ever before as he then jumped into the air, the cape flaring behind him as appearing in his hands were those bird shaped shuriken, which he then threw and they exploded when coming in contact with the mutant doctor. Lincoln then pulled out a grapple gun which had a bird-head-shaped blasting out and fired it at the ceiling. He then swung and then landed on top of Hardly; in hus visor, some words were displayed on screen.
"Seismic energy charged. Preparing Wings of Justice attack."
"'Wings of Justice'? I like the sound of that!" Lincoln said, enthusiastic.
Meanwhile, the Girls had recovered and regrouped with Dexter and Lucy. They were also surprised by what they were seeing.
"Is that Lincoln?" Asked Blossom.
Bubbles had her hands to her mouth. "He looks so cool!"
"What is your crazy brother doing?!" Buttercup said to Lucy, who simply smirked.
"He's being a hero."
Lincoln grabbed the edges of his cape and flared them upward as the inside of it glowed bright blue before the new Blue Falcon sent out a massive shockwave through the suit and onto the mutant Hardly, who fell from the intense impact of the move.
Unfortunately, the damage that was sustained was too much for the lair to handle, as it activated a failsafe.
"LAIR'S INTEGRITY COMPROMISE. INITIATING FALLOUT PROCEDURES." Said a computerized voice before the place felt like it was about to bury itself.
"We have to get out of here!" Dexter yelled.
"But where?!" Buttercup said before Lincoln, the Blue Falcon, flew by over to the hover car, pressing a switch for the car's alarm.
"Need a lift?" He said, and soon enough, he and the others hopped into the Falconcar, which activated its ignition, hovering off the ground before zooming down a tunnel and out of the collapsing lair.
"NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Was Dick Hardly's final farewell cry as the poor mutant scientist was buried alive.
Anyone outside the building could feel a huge tremor below their feet as Crown Industries foundation seemed to be crumbling below, but the building remained intact. Some people even caught a whiff of the legendary Blue Falcon and his car zooming into the night sky.
Some days later...
With the disappearance of the scientist, Dick Hardly would soon be presumed dead. And if he did survive, he would be all but discriminated against at this point, and crucial evidence of his criminal activities has come to light by an anonymous tip to the police. This helped in Dexter's favor as he gained the company back as he and his friends overlooked the repairs to the area around the building.
"Well, it looks like you're once again set for life with being in charge of Crown Industries." Blossom said, and the other agreed.
Dexter nodded, saying "Yes. And I swear to honor my grandfather's legacy to the best of my abilities."
Lincoln was staring at the watch on its rest. He found it to be magnetically locked, but Dexter was working on it.
"Sorry you...couldn't honor it in a different way, Dex." He said to him, but Dexter put his hand up and shook his head.
"The mantle has been passed on to a worthy successor." He replied. "There could be no greater choice."
"A shame we will be able to use the Falcon's Lair." Lucy muttered, but Dexter may already have a solution for that.
"I...may have the essential space...and equipment back at my laboratory." He remarked. "It may serve as a base of operations for you."
"Really, Dex?" Buttercup asked. "You barely like anyone going down here."
"Eh. I've grown used to my sister's company. So why not?"
That made them laugh and Lincoln walked over to Dexter with his hand up. "Well, I guess we're working together on this."
Dexter gratefully accepted it. "Indeed, we are."
The Powerpuff Girls also put their hands over the boys, along with Lucy. This was the start of a beautiful friendship, and the greatest crime-fighting team Townsville will ever know.
It also marks the beginning of the New Blue Falcon...
