"Welcome back to Total Drama Island! Last episode we found out why the campers were on this show and not Canada's Got Talent!" The camera cuts away from Chris and to several of the Bass failing to find their talent. "Heather judged her team's talent as the team leader, until her alliance member Beardo got suspicious of her. The Gophers looked like Sky was a sure win with her gymnastics routine until she got an unlucky break, or should I say sprain?" The camera shows the clip of where sky hurts her ankle doing gymnastics. "Dave even offered to help her out, how sweet! However, in the end the Bass won thanks to Beardo's beatboxing and Zoey's monologue. On the other hand the Gophers voted out Ella because her song caused the whole cast, AND not to mention ME, to get attacked by the wild animals of Wawanakwa. Get ready for the most anticipated campfire ceremony yet on Total… Drama… Island.
Theme Song
The camera panned to show all of the campers sitting around the unlit bonfire in broad daylight, some standing, while others sat on the tree stumps while Chris explained the challenge. Several of them had bags under their eyes while some were holding their heads in their hands. Duncan yawned loudly which caused Trent to yawn which caused Scarlett to yawn which caused Zoey to yawn
Confessional, Scott
I'm pretty sure my pappy has never made me get up this early on the farm. I don't even think it's past six o'clock yet for this stupid challenge.
"Campers!" Chris shouted. "Today's challenge will test your outdoor survival skills. I'm not going to lie to you, some of you probably won't come back alive."
A look of shock permeated through the crowd, though Duncan merely raised his eyebrow, and Jackson remained as stoic as ever. "I'm just kidding, the lawyers said I had to say I was joking, but I'm not quite. Today's challenge is really simple, all you have to do is spend one night in the woods. Everything you will need is at your team's campsite in the forest. You'll just have to find it on the north end of the island" The host tossed a map to Scarlett and one to Heather.
"Oh and watch out for bears, lost a couple of interns in there, it was a darn shame. First team back for breakfast tomorrow wins invincibility!" Chris then signaled for the challenge to begin and all twenty-three remaining campers bolted into the woods.
As the campers' pace quickly fell from a jog to a brisk walk, the camera came into focus on the KIller Bass walking through the dense woods.
"I hope we find a bear! That would just be so cool" Izzy said mischievously, a devilish smile plastered on her face.
Leshawna, clearly annoyed by Izzy's antics sarcastically replied "Call me crazy but I don't." Leshawna strutted past the red head, with Marilyn and Courtney right behind her, shooting a sideways glance at Izzy.
"No silly, crazy is what they call me" Izzy responded.
"Jeez can't imagine why," Duncan chortled, earning a muted chuckle from Courtney.
Confessional, Izzy
These people are no fun. All work and no play. Like come on! Show more of your wild side.
Heather was being followed closely by Beardo who was trying to keep an eye on her. When he noticed she saw him looking he stopped walking for a second to see if she lost suspicion. She let it go and continued walking ahead while Beardo caught up. A look of suspicion carefully crossed Beardo's face before he followed Heather.
Confessional, Heather
I probably should've picked a better ally than captain crazy and DJ soundboard but I'll use them to survive a few more votes and then get rid of them.
Confessional, Beardo
Heather is incredibly mean, manipulative, and another m word that I don't want to say on TV.. I want to keep my eye on her, and possibly even vote her out, because I worry that if I don't, she'll have me playing the Mario death noise sooner than I want to.
Meanwhile somewhere else in the woods the Gophers were having a harder time getting started, as the group had been squabbling over a leader for the past few minutes, not making any progress. Several divisions had formed, Jasmine, Scarlett, Brick, and Ryan all seemed to be clamoring for some form of support from the others, but no one person seemed to be getting the most support.
"I'll lead us guys" said a surprising culprit. It was none other than the Gophers resident germaphobe Dave. Even through the camera feed the stars in his eyes were visibly twinkling.
Confessional, Tem
I fall in love rather easily, but that also means I can fall out rather easily. Dave seems decent enough, but his quirks are a tad extreme. Not someone I would want to spend the rest of my life with. That said I would like to at least open up to Sky by the end of this, I would feel guilty if she didn't know.
Confessional, Dave
What better way to impress a lady than to become a leader of the group!
"Hey Dave, maybe you should let someone who knows the outdoors better like Jasmine or Shawn lead," Tem suggested. Dave immediately fell out of his trance and into a little ditch. Sky looked at him and giggled before suddenly rushing to help him up.
"Like I said," he replied, "I've got this all under control! But I could see how it would be beneficial if we let Jasmine lead," He huffed, rapidly dusting himself off and putting on a glob of hand sanitizer.
"Thanks Dave, alright Gophers let's keep heading north," Jasmine exclaimed, pointing her finger to the North.
Confessional, Jasmine
I think at this point everyone can see Dave is trying to impress Sky. And quite frankly it is rather hilarious, but also cute.
After a little while longer of walking in mostly silence, the Bass had arrived at their designated campsite on the North end of the island. There was only one crappy tent and a firepit set up for the campers to cook dinner and boil water.
"That's just great," Heather whined, "Chris said we would have to cook dinner. So where is it!?"
"Just relax, queen bee," Scott smirked, "I'll find us and cook us a dinner you won't forget!"
Confessional, Heather
It's going to be dirt isn't it?
Confessional, Izzy
Oh my god it would be so cool if it were dirt. People don't give it enough credit because it is super biodegradable and super tasty.
"It better not be dirt!" Duncan exclaimed. "Some of us here like the idea of eating actual edible food."
"Whatever. My pappy taught me how to fish and scavenge incase of emergency. I know what I'm doing!" Scott exclaimed with a massive eye roll.
"Maybe someone should go with you just in case. I would think going out there alone would be rather dangerous," Courtney said, earning a couple nods from Katie and Jackson.
"I can go with him," Zoey raised her hand. "I've always wanted to learn a bit more about the outdoors anyways."
"Alright whatever, come on red," Scott said, waving Zoey over.
The redhead duo made their way into the woods. Jackson, Katie, and Marilyn grabbed some sticks for a base for their fire. Leshawna and Cameron gathered rocks to form something of a shield as Cameron blathered on about rocks. Heather leaned against a tree while Beardo and Izzy practiced making animal sounds with each other. As it grew closer to evening the Bass all sat around the fire waiting for Scott and Zoey's return.
Around this time, a little before sunset the Gophers had arrived at camp no thanks to Dave's awesome navigation skills.
"It's almost nightfall and we just made it to camp?" Trent asked, "How are we going to find dinner at this point?"
"Cheer up soldiers," the confident Brick interjected, "I'll go out into the woods and find us something for dinner while Jasmine headmans the operation here at the campsite."
"Hey Brick," Ryan asked, "Can I join you in finding dinner?"
"I don't see why not," the cadet responded. Brick and Ryan went into the woods to look for the Gophers dinner. Meanwhile at camp Jasmine took charge setting the tent.
Confessional, Brick
I'm glad Ryan wanted to join me… out in the wilderness…. It's better to have multiple people rather than one (he bites his nails nervously)... especially this close to dark
"Alright mates, setting up this tent should be a breeze," Jasmine said, taking one of the stakes and putting it in the ground.
"Allow me to help Jasmine," Dave said, trying to redeem himself for screwing up with the directions.
"Oh no Dave that won't be necessary I've got this all under cont-," Jasmine stopped mid sentence when she saw Dave put the tent up without the third support beam which ripped the tent in half.
"Well isn't that just great mate, we've got nowhere to sleep now.," Scarlett sighed as Beth looked on disapprovingly.
Dave looked at his other teammates to see them all with disapproving looks on their fake Even Sky was unimpressed and angry that the team had nowhere to sleep for the rest of the night. Dave just let out an audible sigh.
Tem helped Dave up and said "Maybe you should stop trying so hard, it's clearly not working." She then walked off leaving Dave puzzled.
Confessional, Dave
I'm trying my best okay! I hate this woods concept so much but I want to push through it to stay in this game and stay with people like Sky and Ryan and Shawn and Jasmine! But I just wanna… (a tear falls out of his face) WHERE'S MY SANITIZER?!
Confessional, Tem
(She facepalmed several times leaving a red handprint on her forehead)
The camera switched back to Zoey and Scott, who had managed to find the river that cut through the island. "Do we have anything to catch fish with?" Zoey asked her compatriot.
"That's the thing with you and the others. You don't explore at night," Scott pulled out some fishing wire. "I got this from the boathouse last night and I put it in my pocket."
"You're pretty handy Scott. I didn't think a farm boy would know how to fish like this," Zoey exclaimed, in awe of Scott's work.
"There's a lake a few miles from the farm. My pappy would take me down there and teach me how to fish. He always said that he wanted me to learn how to get food for myself in case I was ever broke."
"Sounds like your 'pappy' knows what he's doing."
"Yep! My pappy has run our farm for years with a lot of success…" Scott paused, taking notice of a fish nipping at his line. With a swift move of his hand, Scott managed to wrap the fish in the line and yanked it out of the water. Joining the few other miscellaneous fish that Scott had already caught. "Let's head back to camp, it's getting late, and I doubt our teammates want to starve."
Confessional, Zoey
Scott always gave off major stay away from me, slimy salesman vibes, but turns out he seems alright.
Confessional, Scott
Everything I told Zoey was true, I love my pappy dearly, but if catching a few fish earns hers and the rest of the team's trust, then who am I to complain.
Another camera angle showed Scott and Zoey had now returned with the dozen for dinner. The Bass cheered as they knew that they'd at least have some food in their stomach for the night.
"Wow Scott I'm impressed," Duncan said in a less sarcastic tone than usual. "And do you know what goes good with camping? A scary story!" Duncan said this with pure joy in his eyes. His fellow teammates were staring at him as they surrounded him by the fire.
Jackson and Cameron started to gut the fish with Jackson's plastic knife and Duncan's pocket knife. There was a glint from the pocket knife and that glint eventually took over the screen.
The scene quickly shifted back into the deep forest where Ryan and Brick were still out searching for any sort of nutrients "So Ryan," Brick began "Why did you want to come with me to the woods?" Brick's eyes were nervously darting back and forth as the sun continued to set.
"Oh it's just that I want to pull my weight on this team and I thought this was a good way to show it, you know," Ryan replied, giving the cadet a shrug.
"Well you've certainly earned my respect, cadet," Brick said jokingly. Ryan patted Brick on the back as they walked deeper into the woods laughing and generally having a good time.
Confessional, Ryan
I like Brick, genuinely. But he comes off rather gullible. I'm not above using that, but I'd also rather not. That all said, I mostly just want to keep Scarlett's claws out of Brick
Back at Gopher camp Ryan and Brick's absence was making the rest of the team rather antsy with boredom. .
Jasmine, trying to take charge of her team said, "Cheer up mates, I'm sure Brick and Ryan will be back soon, but in the meantime shall we play a game to pass the time?"
"Sorry Jasmine, but we are just too hungry," Sky said, which earned some nods and vocalizations of agreement from the rest of the group..
"Hey, did anybody order a pizza?" A familiar voice said to the Gophers. A look of realization dawned on their faces as they realized that the voice belonged to a familiar blonde now clad in the maroon of an intern's uniform. It was none other than Total Drama Islands resident spoiled attention fiend, Dakota. "Oh I remember this is for the camera crew."
"Da-Dakota, what are you doing here," inquired Scarlett, gripping her stomach.
"My daddy threatened to sue Chris if he didn't let me back on the show, but that dick found a loophole. I'm his intern now." Dakota said that last part with sudden regret, it was clear she had never worked a day in her life. "Anyways I guess there is enough pizza here for you guys too." The whole Gopher team rejoiced in the warm cheesy bread that they were lucky enough to get.
Confessional, Dakota
Yep. That's me! I'm back everyone! But...eugh...working like this….
(she composes herself)
No matter! I'll be ready for the big time soon enough!
Confessional, Trent
(He had cheese dripping from his face) Back home I could crush like two or three whole pizzas if I was hungry enough. I love the nine topping pizza the local shop has, it's got all the fixings on it.
As the sun quickly set over the horizon, the camera panned to Duncan in front of the fire, his face lit up by the orange flames, and all the other Bass members, except Izzy, around him in a semicircle shape. Jackson didn't seem to be scared, in fact he was enjoying Duncan's messed up story and he didn't mind cuddling Katie who was clearly terrified. Cameron was so scared he was even hiding behind Zoey, gripping her shoulders and peeking up over in fear.
"And then they drove away," Duncan said in the middle of his story. "They returned to the guy's house but were met… WITH A BLOODY HOOK," Duncan said this while pulling a pirate hook hand out from behind his back. His teammates screamed in fear, Cameron lept backwards pulling Zoey down with him, Katie shoved her head into Jackson's chest, Courtney jumped back before quickly regaining composure, Heather rolled her eyes, Leshawna was clutching her chest.
Confessional, Duncan
What can I say, I get a kick outta scaring the pants off these dorks.
Confessional, Jackson
Duncan is a great story teller. The story is maybe a six out of ten on the horror scale, but Duncan probably raised it to a eight out of ten with his timing and descriptions.
"Gee Duncan," Jackson said jokingly "Not bad for an amateur."
"Ok so it wasn't my best work but it was pretty funny to see the look on your faces," Duncan said, his hands still on his knees from laughing so hard.
"Do your parents even like you, Duncan,," Courtney asked. The camera zoomed out to show she was asking the question in Duncan's face, her face red with anger.
"I don't know, I haven't asked them lately. I got all of you guys pretty good, except Izzy and Jackson," Duncan said with a smirk and then he did a little double take.
Cameron's eyes grew to twice their normal size with the mention of Izzy. "Where'd Izzy go?!."
Heather rolled her eyes. "So we lost crazy? Fine by me." For once Leshawna looked at Heather and didn't want to punch her.
Confessional, Leshawna
What? Izzy is nutso. Heather is right (She shrugged)
"She was really annoying," Leshawna added. Beardo's fears suddenly bubbled to the surface with a sudden realization. If Izzy were gone it was just him and Heather, and frankly he was pretty scared of her. The Bass suddenly all started calling for her.
Back at Gopher camp zombie boy Shawn noticed Sammy's distress. Against his better judgment he made up his mind and sat next to her.
"Hey Sammy, What's wrong?"
"Oh Shawn I never thought you'd ask," Sammy said, a little surprised, "Well it's that Brick is off in the woods right now and hasn't found any food. Not only might he starve but he might never come back!" Sammy exclaimed, panic written all over her face.
Shawn looked puzzled, still confused about talking to someone. He replied, "So what if Brick doesn't come back, then Jasmine can be our team leader. Smaller packs work better for a zombie apocalypse."
Sammy's face gradually turned red as the words fully sunk in. "Don't you get it you idiot!? I like like Brick! Haven't you ever had anyone special to you that you care about! That you would be broken up about dying in the woods!" Shawn looked at Sammy, his eyes beginning to water as if he was about to cry.
Confessional, Shawn
I can't believe I am showing this kind of emotion! I would be an easy target if this were the apocalypse. Well maybe not EVERYTHING is about the apocalypse. Maybe love is important too?
"I'm sorry Sammy I didn't realize you felt that way," the zombie boy stammered "And… you know I do get what you mean, there's someone here for me."
"Oh Shawn," Sammy stuttered a little, almost surprised Shawn had feelings besides adrenaline. The two exhaled simultaneously. "Sorry for snapping, I guess I'm not used to the woods, apart from the time Amy locked me out of our tent when we were camping."
"...I guess that makes sense, I didn't want to say anything like that about Brick," Shawn hesitated.
Confessional, Shawn
It's weird to put the zombie apocalypse on pause for a second. I know how Sammy's feeling because I feel the same way. I wouldn't be the same if something happened to Jasmine.
Confessional, Sammy
Shawn seems like a decent enough guy. But he has a lot of quirks going on in that head of his. I think he means well, but he is a bit selfish sometimes.
The camera changed to a feed of Brick and Ryan stumbling in the woods. Any hints of lights besides the ones of the cameras were gone. "Are you ready to turn back now?" Brick asked. "You're kind of far away from me."
Ryan opened his mouth to respond when an ominous sound interrupted their conversation. "Hey Brick, I'm no scaredy cat but maybe we should go back to camp…"
"We can't just leave our squad hungry," Brick protested. And then they saw it, it had brown fur and dark black eyes. It looked taller than a skyscraper and had razor sharp claws. It was a brown bear of course. The bear gave a loud roar at the two boys.
"Hey Ryan," Brick said
"Yeah."
"I think we should run back to camp."
"Food?"
"I found berries and they're in my pocket…" Brick replied.
"Run?"
"Run."
Brick and Ryan darted back towards the campsite nearly empty handed until the bear gave a human laugh. The bear stood up on its two hind legs before stretching in a way that only Izzy could.
Confessional, Izzy
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! The looks on their faces! Priceless!
"Oh my god you guys I didn't think my costume was this good!" Izzy proceeds to walk back to Bass camp in her bear costume. Brick and Ryan arrive back at Gopher camp gasping for breath and covered in sweat, their hands on their knees as they panted, completely exhausted.
"Brick! Where the hell were you?" Sammy asked him this as she ran to him and hugged him. He was so tired so he just stood there and smiled.
"So where's my welcome parade?" Ryan wheezed as he regained his strength.
Scarlett seemed to eye the two boys up and down as their breathing began to normalize. "Welcome back boys, did you guys not manage to find any food while you were out there? You were gone an awful long time?"
"Lay off em' Scarlett, we had pizza," Jasmine exclaimed, shooting a glare at the red head. "Besides, it's not like any of us even tried to get food."
"We would've stayed out even longer had we not encountered a bear!" Brick exclaimed, finally able to speak again. The whole team gasped in shock. "And Scarlett we do have these berries from my pocket."
Confessional, Beth
That was rather odd of Scarlett to snoop around Brick and Ryan like that. I know they said they'd find food, but it's not like that was guaranteed to happen you know.
Confessional, Scarlett
In hindsight… I should have left them alone. Now I look like an idiot if the whole bear story is true. Horrible miscalculation on my part, now if we lose those two are basically walking immunity necklaces.
The Bass had given up looking for Izzy at this point and decided if she didn't show it wasn't a detriment to the team. At camp the remaining members of the Bass all sat around a fire waiting with some fish in tow. "I don't suppose anyone knows any good stories?" Marilyn asked.
"Do you want to take this big guy?" Duncan asked Jackson.
The horror fan shook his head and poked at the ground with a stick. "You've been sharpening that stick for a while, are you okay?" Katie asked. Jackson nodded and waved her off. "Because my best friend Sadie has that tendency too. That's how we met actually, just drawing in the dirt."
"Okay…" Duncan stammered. "Anyone wanna hear another scary story?"
"Sure," Zoey said eagerly. "I love horror! I can't imagine how you top your last story though!"
Confessional, Marilyn
As if today couldn't get any more boring. I guess Duncan's scary stories are better than nothing.
Confessional, Katie
Note to self. Start tolerating horror if you want to be close with Jackson, Duncan, or Zoey… why do so many people on this team like horror? What about a good comedy or romance movie?
"So, the boy drove all the way home, called the cops, and the cops confronted the wandering hitchhiker. The hitchhiker slowly pointed to the back of the girlfriend's car, and attached, was the killer...holding a bloody KNIFE!"
Courtney screamed as Duncan pulled out his hook from earlier and curled close to him. Jackson looked at the pair rather bemusedly and chuckled slightly. "Heard that a lot," Jackson mumbled. "Classic."
"I think the internet ruined it with man door hand hook hand," Zoey commented. She put a comforting hand on Cameron as he rocked back and forth in fear. "First time hearing that story?" Cameron meekly nodded.
"I thought it went man door hand hook hook door car," Jackson added.
"No you're both wrong," Duncan deflated. "It was man door hand hook car door."
"I don't know what you two are on about," Heather groaned. "It just sounded like the story from earlier."
Confessional, Cameron
(flipping through a dictionary) They all spoke in English, so why don't I understand them?
Confessional, Jackson
Horror, misunderstood way too much.
Confessional, Duncan
Heather's just mad that her chick flicks don't earn more than the worst horror movies out there. (He folded his arms in disgust)
"Where'd you even get that hook?" Scott asked, pointing at the metal object in question.
"Heh, there's no reason I should kiss and tell, besides, it'd give up the suspense. Wouldn't it, princess?"
Courtney looked at the punk, offended, and slapped his shoulder lightly. "It was a reflex! Anyone would have done that."
"Like who? Red and the Hick?" Duncan pointed to Zoey and Scott. "Cameron and Katie? Leshawna and the bear?!"
"BEAR?!" Leshawna shouted. She turned to the right and let out a screech. Right in front of her was a brown, snarling, growling bear that let out a big roar. The bear blinked and ran into the center of the campfire, where it reared on its hind legs and made a leap to Duncan, who slammed his hook into the fur of the bear.
"BACK OFF!" Jackson shouted, hosting his machete and jabbing it into the bear. It stuck and the Bass retreated.
"TO THE TREES!" Zoey shouted. The Bass ran up the tree and waited for the bear to calm down.
"It's all riled up!" Scott nervously said. "Hey! Look, the bear's calming down!"
"Calming down?" Marilyn asked. As she looked over the branches, her hand slipped and the jock tumbled down the tree. Face to the face with the grimacing bear, she backed away slowly. "It's not calm guys, it's not calm!"
"What if it ate IZZY?!" Cameron screamed. The bear leapt up into the air and snapped at Cameron's hoodie. The nerd barely held on when Zoey reached a hand to save him.
The bear returned to chasing after Marilyn. "Nice Bear, nice… fluffy… strong… scary.. Toothy bear…"
"Whoa," the bear seemed to say. "Toothy? I've never gotten that before! Do you like my teeth?"
Bewildered, Marilyn took a step closer to the bear. The bear got to its hind legs again and moved its front paws. Surprisingly, its head came clean off, and underneath was Izzy. "I can't believe you all fell for that!" she cackled
Confessional, Izzy
Wow, did you see that?! I like ROAR and they were like EEEE and then I was like RAUGH! And then they were like OH NO MY PICKLES!
Confessional, Marilyn
Add Izzy to the list of people that I would like to vote out… A BEAR?!
Confessional, Courtney
I ABSOLUTELY WAS NOT SCARED! GOT IT!?
"Where'd you even get a bear costume in the first place?!" Heather indignantly cried.
"Where the red fern grows and where the son of the broken man sings is where I get my things," Izzy cryptically replied.
"Well your rampage destroyed our tent!" Zoey said angrily. "Sorry but I don't want to sleep on this rocky ground!"
As the teammates bickered Cameron looked at the camera blankly. "Do you think the Gophers are having a better time than we are?"
Confessional, Tem
It could have been worse. At least it wasn't raining. I'd rather go a night without food than be hungry and wet… oh wait…. Dave…. Honestly I feel bad for him.
"Well it could be worse. Right guys?" Dave said to the group as they scrounge around for some sort of food. Right as he said those words it began to pour, drenching the Gopher team and leaving Dave with multiple nasty glares.
"You just happened to open your big mouth didn't you?" Shawn complained, throwing her arms up in the air in frustration.
Confessional, Sky
Oh Dave, why is it always the cute ones that are in over their heads?
Confessional, Dave
Me and my big mouth…
The Gophers were all huddled together in their tent. They slept close together for warmth but they were still shivering due to being soaking wet and having minimal bedding or sleeping bags to speak of. The chattering of teeth and the shivering were all too much for the Gophers as it seemed that no one was going to get any sleep.
Confessional, Jasmine
It sucked. Plain and simple. I can handle roughing it alone in the outback, but dealing with dorbas and daft ended people who'd rather fluffy without comfort- it was miserable. I know my superstitions and it starting to rain right as Dave said what he said was all too coincidental.
The camera zoomed in on Tem and Sky who were laying down next to each other, huddled together for warmth.
"I know you like Dave," Tem whispered to the Cree girl.
"What? No… I…" Sky stammered.
"It's fine. I was crushing on him too, but I saw you guys in that sleep challenge, and realized that you two were clearly hitting it off. I just wanted to say I support you one hundred percent."
"Oh… well I really appreciate that. He is rather cute and smart…. Albeit his outdoor skills need some work," The pair giggled softly at the quip. "If we survive this, I'd love to hang out with you more."
"That sounds like fun," Tem replied, as the pair went back to shivering in the rain.
Confessional, Sky
I'm glad Tem reached out like that. I'm sure admitting to having a crush on Dave was a bit hard, but she seems like a really upstanding girl to say that. Though I need to work on some things myself…
Confessional, Tem
(she blows out and immediately puts on a relaxed face)
The Bass on the other hand were having more or less better luck. After Izzy's shenanigans they managed to get inside their tents and eat before the rain began to fall. Despite this Beardo was attempting to gain votes against Heather. Leaning over to Duncan he whispered, "Hey man if we lose can I make sure I have your vote against Heather?" Beardo asked the delinquent.
"I'll think about it. But talk to me again after the challenge," Duncan replied, shifting his head deeper into a pile of leaves he fashioned into a pillow.
"Alright." Heather, being not even a few feet next to the pair, heard their exchange and her face turned from one of intrigue to one of disgust, she knew what she needed to do.
Confessional, Beardo
I had to do what I had to do. How'd she survive the past votes again? I'm so confused and this might be my last chance.
Confessional, Heather
Honestly, I respect Beardo for trying to make a flip happen. It's a fairly sound game move. Too bad I heard him.
Hours later the sun was rising and multiple campers from each team were waking their fellow teammates up. The teams leaving their respective campsites were sprinting to the end. The camera was cutting between the Gophers and the Bass. Chris and Chef waited for the campers to arrive in their porch chairs sipping mimosas waiting for the first team to arrive.
"And welcome back Gophers. You're the first team back and it looks you guys have everyone here so you guys will be safe from the vote tonight. Not only that, Dakota is taking you guys to the Tuck Shoppe!" The Gophers cheered at Chris's announcement and right at that moment the Bass arrived at the campground.
"Bass I'll be seeing you guys at the elimination ceremony tonight. Don't be late." Chris left the scene leaving the Bass to scramble to make sure they would not be leaving the game so early.
Confessional, Ryan
All things considered, it was a good team bonding night. And we get a visit to the Tuck Shop on top of it. It's a win win.
Confessional, Dave
I am NEVER going camping EVER again. YOU HEAR ME!?
Confessional, Scott
Duncan mentioned to me that Beardo wanted to go for Heather… I can already tell this vote is going to be a mess, and I thrive in a good dirt mess.
The camera shifted to a little bit after the challenge to The Queen Bee, her gaze was set on the punk boy delinquent Duncan and the dirt farmer Scott. Duncan was whittling away at a chunk of wood that he had found in the forest. As the pair conversed, Heather made her way over to them.
"Hello Duncan, Scott," Heather began,
"Sup gorgeous," Duncan smirked.
"Whatever. I was curious as to your thoughts on Beardo?" Heather continued, her eyes shifting between the two, keeping an eye on both of them.
"Translation being you want him gone," Duncan deadpanned, as he glanced at a snickering Scott.
"Simply. Yes."
"Any particular reason why. I mean Izzy cost us the challenge today and it's not like he's a major threat like Justin was," Duncan reasoned.
"This is true. But he is flying under the radar. I mean no one will vote him out pre merge because he does nothing wrong. And he won't be voted out in the merge because he's not a threat. He'll just coast to the end."
"All very fair points. But Izzy went AWOL for a bit and spent more time with her bear costume than actually helping us. Wouldn't voting out a true wild card be better when Beardo is a known quantity?" Scott suggested.
"Yes, but. Consider this. I saw Beardo talking to Ella and Beth during the challenge the other day. If he already has friends on the other team, he'll become a tough player to remove later."
The delinquent and farmer looked at each other as if a silent agreement had been made. "Alright, we'll vote for Beardo with you. I think you know your equity on this team is in the gutter, so we'll help you out," Scott started.
"But do us a favor and keep your mouth in check, if you want Beardo gone, you need to actually, you know not get voted out," Duncan added.
"Sounds perfect."
Confessional, Heather
Duncan and Scott have both seemingly been open to working with me vote by vote. That said, both just give off the vibes that they would throw you into a meat grinder if it meant them getting another step further.
Confessional, Duncan
Why not just vote off Heather? Chick's got more enemies than Genghis Khan. We could be rid of her whenever we want. I'm not using that free pass until I absolutely have to.
Two Bass girls were sitting inside their cabin thinking through tonight's vote inside their head. Courtney was taking notes and Leshawna was laying in her bed before Courtney spoke up.
Confessional, Courtney
Yeah I've got Duncan and Scott as allies but let's be real here. You need more than two people to survive. Leshawna seems pretty level headed and not crazy. Two qualities that are pretty lacking on this Island. Making her the perfect partner.
"You know Leshawna we'd make quite the team," Courtney mused.
"Anyone could make a great team with me, sugar," Leshawna replied.
"Which is why I like you. You have a lot of confidence and you're honest. A perfect partner."
"Flattery gets you everywhere Courtney."
"Oh I know. We don't need an official alliance. But maybe we share info and don't vote for each other?" Courtney suggested.
"Ain't that the definition of an alliance?" Leshawna deadpanned.
"Well- no. See we can vote for whoever aside from each other. I know you hate Heather and will probably vote for her tonight. But I would preferably vote out Beardo tonight. With this we don't get in each other's way and benefit each other," Courtney explained.
"Fair enough. I'll take you up on your offer, but if you even think of trying to screw me over I will personally blow your game sky high, got it?" Leshawna threatened. "That all said, why Beardo tonight? I saw you chatting with the two boys before walking in here."
"There's been some rumblings that Beardo has friends on the other team after the last challenge. If he's so focused on making friends on the other side why would he be focused on keeping us all safe? So the thought is to keep Heather around as a meat shield, while taking care of the problem now," Courtney explained.
"Hmmm. And what if this Beardo Gopher thing isn't true?"
"Better safe than sorry I guess. Besides, as much as I know you loathe Heather, you know that her leash is incredibly short as is."
"I know you're right, Court, but still. I assume it's you three plus Queen Bee in on this?"
"Yeah, Scott mentioned he was going to chat with Marilyn and swing her group over, and that would be enough."
"Alright then."
Confessional, Leshawna
You don't survive in the hoods without a backup plan, and you ain't going to survive if you aren't your friends' backup plans. I know I'm Courtney's. As much as she argues with Duncan, her loyalty is to him right now. This vote is rather interesting, I am finding myself agreeing with Heather's moves than not… which is annoying to say the least, but something to consider.
Confessional, Beardo
Who likes Heather again? I know I can pull the votes, I just need people to listen to me.
Beardo had managed to find Zoey and Cameron in the Mess Hall where they seemed to be discussing strategy for the evening.
"Hey guys, would you mind if I talk to you?" Beardo asked the pair.
The duo looked to each other before both nodding in agreement that he could. "What do you want to talk to us about?" Zoey asked the hairy boy.
"I wanted to see if you guys would be willing to vote for Heather tonight?"
"Well we weren't totally sure who to vote for. But do you really think we have the votes to send her out. I mean Izzy really messed up today, and rumors are that Heather is campaigning hard against you," Cameron mused.
"I know Heather is campaigning hard against me. But I really think we can send her home this time."
"I'm willing to vote for her, how about you Cam?" Zoey asked.
"I am a bit skeptical. Izzy is rather… frightening, but Heather is also scary, so I'm fine with it."
"Cool guys, I really appreciate it," Beardo thanked.
"No problem Beardo." Zoey smiled.
Confessional, Cameron
I like Beardo. I really do. But I really don't want to be on the wrong side of a vote. Especially as it seems Zoey and I may be farther down on the figurative team totem pole than we think.
The camera seemed to follow Beardo as he wandered through the campgrounds, his poofy hair bounced with each step he took. After a minute he finally wandered his way to Marilyn, Jackson, and Katie who were sitting in front of the Bass cabin.
"Hey Beardo!" Katie waved to the beatboxer. Beardo waved back, as Jackson and Marilyn shifted to face Beardo.
"Hey guys," Beardo responded back. "What are you guys thinking for the vote?"
"Izzy quite frankly," Marilyn deadpanned. "Costed us the challenge and dressed up as a bear just to scare us."
"Yeah, Izzy is athletic and all, but if she's just going to sabotage us, then what's the point," Katie added, as Jackson added a gruff noise of presumed agreement.
"Well, I was wondering if you guys would be more willing to vote for Heather tonight?" Beardo said, his voice clearly nervous.
"I would never say no to voting Heather," Marilyn said. "But she didn't exactly cost us on the challenge."
"We could just vote Izzy next time…." Jackson suggested, he seemingly shrunk as the three other Bass gazed at him, Katie placed a reassuring hand on his knee.
"True. Not like Heather is exactly a word beater in challenges either," Katie added. "But I still think Izzy is a better choice now."
"Let's just vote for Heather. If we have a chance, may as well," Marilyn decided.
"Thanks guys!" Beardo exclaimed.
Confessional, Beardo
Please please please please please!
Confessional, Katie
This is incredibly annoying. As much as I dislike Heather, her and Beardo should not be on the chopping block. How Izzy has managed to not even be targeted after her bear stunt is beyond me
Confessional, Jackson
I don't know why everyone is so angry at Izzy for the bear. I thought it was kind of funny.
As Beardo walked away, a noticeable dirt smell seemingly appeared as Scott walked on screen, he strolled his way over to the trio.
"Oh hey Scott," Marilyn said, her eyes narrowing at the farmer.
"Ladies… Jackson," Scott greeted, "I imagine you guys are voting for Heather or Izzy tonight."
"One could say that," Marilyn replied, as Katie and Jackson shot each other a glance.
"Well I was wondering if you guys would be willing to vote for Beardo, I got some information on him… and it's not exactly glowing."
"What's the info? Beardo's been nothing but nice albeit rather quiet since we've been here," Katie inquired.
"Apparently during the last challenge, he was getting rather cozy with the other team," Scott replied, a small smirk appearing on his face, as the three others all looked at each other.
"Was he now? Well then he's gotta go. We can't have others helping the other team!" Marilyn exclaimed, slamming her fist into her palm.
"My thoughts exactly," Scott added.
"Okay then…" Katie stammered out. "Are we sure that this is true?"
"Very certain, but even if it isn't… is it really worth the risk?"
"No it isn't. In my opinion at least. May as well nip it in the bud now rather than not," Marilyn said, looking for reassurance from Jackson and Katie.
"Sounds like we're voting for Beardo. Thank you Scott," Jackson said, nodding to the farmer, who nodded back and left the trio.
Confessional, Scott
In the long run, protecting Heather will pay our way in dirt. With Izzy also being seen as crazy, that allows us another free vote after this too. I love it when a plan falls into place.
Confessional, Marilyn
I hate Heather, I want to make that clear. But at least when it comes down to it I know she'll actually try to make sure we win challenges rather than help another team.
Confessional, Katie
I wish Sadie were here. She'd know what to do.
"BONZAI!" Izzy screamed as she leapt out of a tree and tackled Heather to the ground who fell with a massive thud.
"IZZY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" Heather screamed, as she kicked Izzy off of her. "First a bear and now this!?"
"I'm just training!" Izzy exclaimed, standing up and dusting herself off.
"For what!?"
"That's for me to know and for you to find out!"
"Right…. Well look…. Just vote for Beardo tonight, he's sneaky and I trust you to do that," Heather replied, pulling out dirt crumbs from her hair.
"You can count on me boss!" Izzy shouted, cartwheeling away from the queen bee, leaving her incredibly confused.
Confessional, Heather
Better to have crazy be loyal to you rather than crazy be crazy against you
Confessional, Izzy
I wonder if an alligator would scare them next? Or a Wolverine? Or a Walrus!
"Courtney mentioned she talked to you about the Beardo vote," Scott started, as he and Leshawna walked to the elimination ceremony together. "I know you want Heather out, but you have to admit she's a great shield."
"I know. Which is painful to admit. But I'm glad you and Courtney are here to at least help me see that, it'd be difficult to acknowledge otherwise," Leshawna replied.
"Trust me I know. But I did talk to Duncan and Courtney a few days ago. And I was thinking that maybe, you, me, Courtney, Duncan, and Heather in an alliance could really do wonders for us."
"Heather? In an alliance? Please. Didn't she have one with Beardo and Izzy? Now look how that's going."
"Her back is against the wall. As abrasive as she is, she isn't stupid. She knows that she only has so much rope left right now."
"I guess you're right. At the end of the day we gotta do what's best for us rather than let personal feelings get in the way. But I'd be lying if I said I enjoyed it."
Confessional, Leshawna
I hate that he's right. But a power alliance with me, him, Duncan, Courtney, and Heather would control this team head to toe, but man I hate it
Confessional, Scott
There's twelve, soon to be eleven of us on this team, I may as well make some extra allies while I'm at it. I'm a dumb farmer, not a stupid farmer. Besides with Izzy being public enemy number one after today, we've got a few free eliminations coming our way.
Elimination Ceremony
"Bass. Welcome back to your third elimination ceremony of the season. You voted Chloe out last time. But it didn't serve you guys all that well in the long run. If you don't receive a marshmallow you will walk the Dock of Shame and take the Boat of Losers home. As I call your name, please come and collect a marshmallow."
"Duncan."
"Marilyn."
"Zoey."
"Cameron."
As the campers made their way up to collect their marshmallows they would high five or hug each other in response, happy to still be alive in the game fighting for the million.
"Scott."
"Leshawna."
"Jackson."
"Katie."
"And… Courtney."
"Two of you racked up some votes tonight. One of you more than the others. Izzy you have a few screws loose and kept everyone up all night with your bear antics, good reason to send you home. Beardo, it seems as though your fraternization with the other team has caused some distrust amongst your fellow campers, reasons to send you packing, and Heather a lot of people on this team find you high maintenance and hard to deal with, but you seem to actually want to win the challenges., With that being said… Izzy you are safe."
"And the last safe is… Heather. Beardo sorry man but you're out."
"Wha wha wha," Beardo replied in defeat. He waved goodbye to his former team as many waved back.
"See ya never loser," Heather smirked as she turned her back on her former ally.
"Would you shut your trap!" Leshawna shouted.
"What makes you think I will?" Heather responded.
"Because your days are severely numbered you got that."
"You've been saying that since day one and yet I'm still here."
"You've gotten lucky that's all," Zoey joined in.
"We'll see about that!" Heather scoffed, strutting away from the campfire
"Yikes. Heather seems to be pissing off her whole team but maybe it's all a part of her strategy. She just got Beardo eliminated, causing once again another blindside caused by her. The Bass seem to be sinking instead of swimming. Will these alliances all make the merge or will they end up like Beardo and be betrayed by their own. Who will be eliminated next time on Total Drama Island."
Final Confessional, Beardo
Well. I tried. I should've gone to Duncan and Scott. They're the clear figure heads of this team, and if I had them on my side I would likely still be in the game right now.. Looking back I think I would've still accepted Heather's alliance but be more social and get in with other people. Sadly I did that way too late. Oh well all I can say is that at least I wasn't the first boot and that I made it past the first five eliminations. I don't know why but I always got this feeling that I'd go first before a cosplaying wizard, thankfully that didn't come true. (plays a song of sadness)
Votes
Duncan: Sorry Beardo, but you gotta go. Like your music but sending you out is for the best.
Marilyn: Beardo, If what Scott says is true, then you're sneakier than you let on.
Zoey: Heather, both can't be trusted and are throwing Beardo under the bus. She's gotta go
Cameron: It's and easy vote for Heather
Beardo: Bye Heather
Scott: I figured Heather reeled in some of the outsiders and yet here she is eliminating one of them. She comes off as threatening but she's just shooting herself in the foot. Sorry Beardo but you're a necessary casualty
Courtney: Beardo seems nice, but he's both quiet and his noises are a tad annoying.
Leshawna: I hate that keeping Heather around is good for me… why cruel world!? Sorry Beardo.
Heather: Bye bye Beardo
Izzy: BONZAI BEARDO
Katie: I'd rather Izzy or Heather go, but I gotta stick with the majority, sorry Beardo
Jackson: Beardo
Reviews
LordGemini: As we made Ch6 a while ago I couldn't say why we didn't do Courtney and her violin. I think we just forgot, but I think it was also a process of wanting Beardo to get some spotlight here so someone needed to be cut.
Nobody245: I'm glad you enjoyed this more tamed version of the Talent Show. Also with Trent he could have a love interest on the island he could not. We don't know.
