Note: I know it's been a long time since I updated this story, and I thought now would be the perfect time to do it. I haven't forgotten about finishing this story since there weren't new ideas until now. Enjoy
Tom and Jerry both hung out together outside without Spike and his friends. They wanted to talk about Porky, Daffy and Bugs.
"What do you think of Spike's friends?" Jerry asked.
"I don't know. How about you?"
"I think they're okay, but I don't think they'll stay much longer, wouldn't you think?"
"Only Spike can answer that," Tom told him.
"We'll have to ask him later, then."
"Yes," Tom agreed.
One thing they didn't know was Spike and his friends weren't that far away, and were talking about them also.
"Tom and Jerry would be perfect for hanging out with a friend or two of ours," Bugs told Spike.
"Who is your friend, then?"
"Road Runner," Daffy answered.
"You should meet Doc sometime, Spike. He's fun."
"Tell me who Doc is again."
"A hunter," Porky answered.
"Should be interesting to meet a hunter named Doc," Spike said.
"His name is Elmer," Daffy told him.
"He likes to think that he can shoot me, but it never works out," Bugs told him.
"Why would he want to shoot a rabbit for?" Spike asked.
Bugs shrugged.
"I don't know. He doesn't give up, and I can tell you that."
"You don't have to, but you already did," Spike pointed out.
Tom and Jerry weren't very far from the conversation, but were able to catch a bit of it, but not the whole thing.
"Where do these animals live?" Tom whispered.
"Ask him," Jerry told him.
"Maybe later when they're not together. I wonder how much longer they will stay here."
"We'll soon find out," Jerry answered.
They decided to leave Spike alone until his friends weren't around anymore.
Tom and Jerry both heard them laughing. Guess it was a joke that made them start.
"What kind of joke are they sharing about that's so funny?"
"I don't know," Tom replied, "but I am wondering the same thing."
"Should we head over and find out?"
"Nah. I wouldn't bother," Tom told his friend.
"I'm bored. Want to run around?"
"I say go for it!" Tom answered, and started to run with Jerry behind him.
Spike looked around since he heard Tom and Jerry start to chase each other again.
"What's that sound?" Daffy asked.
"Just Tom and Jerry. They do this all the time."
"We noticed that when we came out on the first day," Porky replied.
"They never get tired of this."
"This is why we thought of our friends hanging out with yours and they can see how much all of them have in common."
"We'll have to think about hat one first," Bugs told Daffy, "but you have a very good idea."
"Thanks. We'll have to tell them when we get back home."
Tom and Jerry finally chased around the doghouse a few times and Daffy fell while both Tom and Jerry did their exercise.
"This is too much exercise," Porky said.
"They do it all the time," Spike repeated.
"We should keep watching and see if they are faster than Road Runner or him faster than your friends," Bugs replied.
"That is a great idea to see who the fastest is, but we'll have to talk with Doc and Road Runner about it first," Bugs told Daffy.
"That makes sense, but I wonder what their reactions would be when we tell them after coming back home."
"When do you leave again?" Spike asked.
"In a couple days. I know it feels like we just got here, and now time is closer to get back there and share with our friends. Are Tom and Jerry the only friends you have here?"
"Yes, but sometimes we have some company, but I mostly hang out with Tom and Jerry most of the time, trying to get them to stop chasing each other."
The three of them laughed when Spike told them that.
"Let's continue to watch your friends," Daffy said.
"I see this all the time. You watch them. I'll take a nap."
"Enjoy your nap, Spike."
"Always do. Go find something else while I nap."
"All right."
Bugs, Porky and Daffy left the doghouse as Spike got inside.
"Spike did sound tired for a bit there, didn't he?" Porky asked.
"It looks like it. I think he's already bored with all of us around here at the same time with the mouse and cat."
"Sylvester would love to hang out with Tom."
"They'll be friends fast, that's for sure," Daffy agreed.
"Let's go find something to do."
"Like what?"
"I don't know. Just whatever," Bugs replied.
"Like watching Tom and Jerry?"
"That's what Spike says. Let's go do that then."
So they stayed out of the way when Tom and Jerry wouldn't notice they had an audience and that didn't include Spike.
"This should be entertaining, even though we've seen this several times," Porky said as the others agreed.
After that, they didn't say anything else. But all they could do was be entertained from cat and mouse.
