Chapter 34 – The Clash before the Storm

The biting winds of the Land of Snow howled through the mountains, carrying the echoes of battle. The remnants of the skirmish lay scattered across the icy tundra—fallen soldiers, shattered weapons, and the lingering traces of chakra from techniques that had clashed moments before.

Kakashi stood at the edge of the battlefield, his keen gaze following the silhouettes of the retreating enemy forces disappearing into the distance. The elite warriors of Doto had survived, and their retreat was not an act of cowardice. No, they were regrouping.

"This isn't over."

The Copy Ninja exhaled slowly, the glow of his Raiton: Shiden fading from his fingertips. Nadare was dead, but that was only one piece of the puzzle. Doto was still out there, watching, waiting.

Behind him, the rest of the team gathered, assessing their situation. Naruto rubbed his arm where his jacket had been singed during the fight, his expression torn between relief and frustration.

"That was close..." he muttered. "Those chakra armors are no joke."

"They were stronger than expected," Shino agreed, adjusting his glasses. His insects stirred beneath his coat, sensing the tension still lingering in the air.

Sakura finished tending to Sasuki's minor wounds, wrapping a bandage around a scrape on her arm. "We got lucky. If Kakashi-sensei hadn't taken out Nadare, things might've gone differently."

Sasuki scoffed, rolling her shoulder. "Tch. I could've handled him."

Naruto smirked. "Yeah, sure. Because you totally weren't getting blasted around a few minutes ago."

Sasuki shot him a glare but said nothing. Instead, she turned her attention to Koyuki, who stood off to the side, staring at the snow-covered ground in deep thought. The actress-turned-princess had barely spoken since the battle ended.

Sandayū approached her carefully. "Princess... I know this must be difficult, but we cannot stop here."

Koyuki didn't respond immediately. Her fingers clenched into fists, her breath coming out in visible puffs of air. "...I didn't ask for this," she finally whispered.

Sandayū's expression softened. "Neither did your father. But he still fought for what was right."

Koyuki flinched, her eyes flickering with something—anger, pain, regret. Before she could say anything more, Kakashi stepped forward.

"We need to move," he said. "Doto's forces will be back, and we can't afford to be sitting ducks. If there are still loyalists to your father's cause, we need to find them before Doto does."

Koyuki hesitated. Her entire life, she had run from this fate. But the look in Sandayū's eyes, the conviction in Kakashi's voice...

Perhaps it was time to stop running.

--

Somewhere else...

Doto Kazahana sat in the command center of his fortress, watching the battlefield through a projected display. The death of Nadare meant little to him. What mattered was that Koyuki was slipping further from his grasp.

"It seems they are more troublesome than anticipated."

One of his lieutenants kneeled before him. "Shall we pursue, Lord Doto?"

The dictator's lips curled into a smirk. "No. Let them struggle for now. But keep them under surveillance. When the time comes... I will take what is mine."

The shadows of the fortress loomed, a storm of ice and steel brewing on the horizon.

--

The fire crackled softly in the small cave where the group had taken shelter. The warmth provided little comfort against the frigid winds howling outside, but for now, it was enough.

Koyuki sat near the flames, knees pulled to her chest, watching the flickering embers. Despite her best efforts, her thoughts refused to quiet. The battle from earlier had shaken her, but it was more than that.

Something about Kakashi... something about his voice, his presence—it was familiar.

The memory came unbidden.

--

Flashback – The Night of the Coup

She was only a child when it happened.

The palace was burning. Screams echoed in the halls. The scent of blood and smoke filled her lungs as she ran, tears blurring her vision. Her father's warm hand had guided her through the corridors only moments ago, his voice calm despite the chaos.

"Run, Koyuki. No matter what happens, you must survive."

She had tried to hold onto him, but he pushed her away—just as the doors burst open, revealing the cold, merciless gaze of Doto Kazahana.

Koyuki had screamed as she was dragged away, her father's final words drowned out by the clash of steel.

Then came the masked man.

A shadow among the flames, his single eye unreadable. He moved with unnatural speed, cutting through Doto's men like a ghost. The last thing she remembered was being lifted into strong arms, her world fading into darkness as the man carried her away from the nightmare.

When she awoke, Sandayū was there, telling her they had to flee, that her father was gone.

She had never seen that masked man again.

Until now.

--

Present Time

Koyuki's gaze drifted toward Kakashi, who sat a few feet away, quietly observing the fire. The mask, the single eye, the calm yet sharp demeanor—it had to be him.

Taking a deep breath, she finally spoke.

"You were there that night... weren't you?"

Kakashi didn't react immediately. His expression remained unreadable, but after a brief pause, he sighed. "You remember."

Koyuki clenched her fists. "Why didn't you say anything?"

Kakashi met her gaze, his voice even. "Because this mission isn't about the past. It's about what comes next."

She gritted her teeth. "What comes next? Doto is still alive. He's still in power. And you think I can just... change everything?"

"You can," Sandayū interjected, his voice firm. "You're the rightful heir, Koyuki-sama. There are still those who believe in your father's dream. We just have to find them."

Koyuki looked away. She wanted to believe that. She really did. But how could she fight against a monster like Doto?

A hand rested on her shoulder. She looked up to see Naruto grinning at her.

"Believe it," he said. "You're not alone in this."

For the first time in years, Koyuki felt a flicker of hope.

--

The Next Morning

With renewed determination, the group set out toward their next destination—a hidden village deep in the snowy mountains where the last loyalists to Kazahana Sosetsu, Koyuki's father, were said to reside.

The journey was treacherous. The snow grew thicker, the winds harsher. But the real danger was the pursuit.

Doto's forces were tracking them.

"We're being followed," Shino noted, his insects scouting the area. "They're keeping their distance for now."

"They're waiting for the right moment to strike," Kakashi muttered. "Stay alert."

Sakura adjusted her gloves, her breath visible in the cold air. "I still don't get it. Why didn't they attack last night?"

"Doto's playing it smart," Sasuki said. "He knows we're heading somewhere. He wants to see where before making a move."

Naruto grinned. "Then let's give 'em a surprise if they try anything."

Despite his bravado, everyone knew the real battle was still ahead.

And soon, they would come face to face with the last hope for the Land of Snow.

--

A Moment of Reflection

As the resistance prepared for battle, Koyuki stood on a balcony overlooking the underground village. Fires burned in the distance, casting flickering shadows against the cavern walls as blacksmiths worked tirelessly to forge weapons. Warriors sharpened their blades, reinforcing their armor, while strategists gathered around maps, planning their attack.

Despite all this, Koyuki felt uneasy.

Am I truly ready for this?

She gripped the railing, her breath misting in the cold air. The memories of her father's death, of her uncle's betrayal, all weighed heavily on her shoulders.

"Koyuki-hime?"

She turned to see Sandayū approaching, his expression grim.

"The scouts have returned. Doto is on the move."

Koyuki's breath caught in her throat.

It was time.

--

A War on Two Fronts

Inside the command room, a large table was covered with maps detailing the region's terrain. Koyuki, Sandayū, and the resistance leaders stood around it, analyzing their options.

Kakashi, Naruto, Sasuki, Sakura, Shino, and the film crew were also present, each listening intently.

A scout stepped forward, bowing slightly. "Doto's forces are marching toward this location. They've set up blockades along the main routes, and they're deploying additional patrols."

One of the resistance leaders, an older samurai, clenched his fists. "So he knows we're here."

Sandayū nodded. "He's trying to cut off any possible escape routes before launching a full assault."

Naruto crossed his arms. "So what do we do? Fight him head-on?"

Kakashi shook his head. "That would be reckless. His army outnumbers us, and they have superior technology."

Shino adjusted his glasses. "We need a strategy that forces them into unfavorable conditions."

Sasuki nodded. "Something that takes advantage of our terrain."

One of the resistance members spoke up. "There's an old railway system leading into Doto's stronghold. It's heavily guarded, but if we can infiltrate it…"

Kakashi closed his book and nodded. "That could work. We split into two teams—one to create a diversion and one to infiltrate the train."

Sandayū stroked his beard. "If we succeed, we can cut off his supply line and weaken his forces before the final battle."

Koyuki took a deep breath. "Then let's do it."

The plan was set.

--

The Attack Begins

As night fell, the resistance moved out.

Naruto, Sasuki, and Sandayū led a team to attack one of Doto's outposts, drawing attention away from the main infiltration squad.

Meanwhile, Kakashi, Sakura, Shino, and a small team of elite fighters moved toward the railway system.

The air was thick with tension as the battles began.

Naruto's team struck first. Explosions rocked the snowfields as kunai and jutsu lit up the night. The enemy forces scrambled to respond, falling into the trap as they were lured away from their defensive positions.

In the shadows, Kakashi's team slipped through the enemy's weakened defenses, making their way onto the train.

Inside, the group moved quickly, taking down guards and disabling security measures.

Shino's insects infiltrated the train's systems, disabling communication lines, while Sakura's precise strikes incapacitated enemies with minimal noise.

Kakashi moved like a phantom, cutting through the opposition with practiced efficiency. His Raikiri flared in the darkness, slicing through enemy armor like paper.

But just as they reached the control room, a deep, chilling laugh echoed through the air.

The team turned as a massive figure stepped forward, his body clad in enhanced chakra armor.

"I was wondering when you'd show up."

It was one of Doto's elite generals.

Kakashi's visible eye narrowed. "This just got complicated."

The final battle was drawing closer.

To Be Continued...

--

The Guardian of the Train

The atmosphere inside the train car was thick with tension. Kakashi's team stood their ground, facing down one of Doto's elite generals.

The man was massive, his towering frame covered in reinforced chakra armor. The dim lighting of the train reflected off its polished metal plates, the intricate circuitry glowing faintly as it absorbed and redistributed chakra.

Kakashi's visible eye narrowed as he analyzed the enemy. This wasn't just an ordinary opponent—his armor would make most direct attacks ineffective.

The general smirked, cracking his knuckles. "You Konoha shinobi think you can just waltz in here and take control of this train? I'll be sending your corpses back to your Hokage."

The resistance fighters behind Kakashi tensed, but the Copy Ninja merely closed his book, slipping it into his pouch.

"I'd like to see you try."

The enemy charged, his movements surprisingly fast for someone in such heavy armor. He swung a massive gauntleted fist toward Kakashi, the air whistling from the sheer force.

Kakashi sidestepped smoothly, his body moving with practiced ease. The punch slammed into the metal wall, denting it inward with a deafening clang.

Before the enemy could recover, Kakashi's hands blurred through a series of seals.

"Raiton: Shiden." (Lightning Release: Purple Lightning)

A surge of violet electricity crackled to life in Kakashi's palm, illuminating the dim train car with an eerie glow.

The general barely had time to react before Kakashi thrust his hand forward.

The lightning shot out in a jagged arc, striking the enemy's armor directly. Sparks exploded on impact, the electricity dancing across the metallic surface.

For a moment, nothing happened.

Then the general chuckled. "You think your lightning can hurt me? This armor absorbs chakra-based attacks."

Kakashi's eye narrowed. So it functions like a conductor…

Before the general could retaliate, Kakashi shifted his stance.

Then I'll just have to overload it.

He clapped his hands together.

"Shiden: Nagare." (Purple Lightning: Stream)

The lightning in his palm shifted, expanding outward into a web of crackling purple tendrils. The train car was instantly filled with an electrified storm, bolts of energy striking every surface.

The general's confident smirk vanished as the overwhelming voltage surged through his armor. His body convulsed violently, the overloaded circuits sparking wildly.

He staggered backward, smoke rising from his body.

Kakashi didn't waste a second. He moved forward, faster than the eye could follow, forming a single-hand seal.

"Raiton Kage Bunshin!" (Lightning Release Shadow Clone!)

A clone of pure lightning materialized beside him, mirroring his movements.

Before the enemy could recover, Kakashi's real body dashed past him in a blur. His clone followed, phasing through the general's body.

A heartbeat later, the clone exploded.

The resulting discharge sent the general flying backward, his armor completely fried. He crashed through the train's control panel, sparks flying everywhere.

The train shuddered violently, the lights flickering as the controls short-circuited.

Shino, who had been monitoring the systems, turned to Kakashi. "The train's braking mechanisms have been disabled. We won't be able to stop it normally."

Sakura clenched her fists. "So what do we do?"

Kakashi glanced out the window, his mind racing.

They were approaching the main fortress. If they couldn't stop the train, it would crash straight into Doto's base.

Which meant…

He looked at his palm, where remnants of his Shiden still crackled.

I'll just have to use a more extreme method.

--

A Clash in the Snowfields

Meanwhile, outside the fortress, Naruto, Sasuki, and Sandayū's forces were engaged in fierce combat.

Doto's men had realized they'd been lured into a trap, but it was too late to retreat. The Konoha shinobi and the resistance warriors fought with precision, using the environment to their advantage.

Sasuki moved like a blur, her Sharingan blazing as she weaved through enemy attacks. With each flicker of movement, she struck with pinpoint accuracy, disabling her opponents before they could even react.

Naruto fought with his usual intensity, his Rasengan carving through enemy formations as he pushed forward.

Suddenly, an explosion rocked the battlefield.

Everyone turned just in time to see the train barreling toward the fortress.

The resistance fighters gasped. "Is that… ours?"

Sasuki narrowed her eyes. "No. Something's wrong."

Naruto squinted, spotting a familiar figure standing atop the moving train.

"Kakashi-sensei?!"

--

The Wrath of the Storm

Kakashi stood at the very edge of the train, the wind howling around him as the fortress loomed closer.

There was no time for subtlety.

He raised his hand toward the sky.

Dark clouds gathered above, thickening unnaturally fast. Lightning crackled within them, the charged atmosphere responding to Kakashi's chakra.

Sakura and Shino watched from inside the train as their sensei prepared something massive.

"What… what is he doing?" Sakura whispered.

Shino adjusted his glasses. "He's summoning a lightning strike. A powerful one."

Kakashi's voice was calm as he formed the final seal.

"Shiden: Raijin Kōtai." (Purple Lightning: Thunder God's Wrath)

A massive bolt of violet lightning erupted from the sky, slamming into Kakashi's outstretched hand. The sheer force of it made the train tremble, the very air crackling with power.

Then, with a single motion, Kakashi redirected the lightning downward—into the train itself.

The impact was instant.

The overloaded circuits exploded, the entire train shaking as the electrical surge fried its systems. The metal groaned, sparks flying wildly as the massive vehicle's momentum rapidly decreased.

Then, with one final jolt—

The train screeched to a halt, stopping just short of crashing into the fortress gates.

Smoke rose from the wreckage, and for a moment, there was silence.

Then Kakashi exhaled, stepping off the train and onto the battlefield.

Naruto and Sasuki rushed over, wide-eyed.

"Kakashi-sensei, that was insane!" Naruto shouted.

Sasuki gave him an unimpressed look. "You could've died."

Kakashi simply pulled out his book, flipping it open. "But I didn't."

Sakura and Shino joined them, surveying the battlefield. The resistance fighters were moving forward, taking advantage of the enemy's confusion.

Sandayū turned to Koyuki, who had just arrived. "We need to move quickly. Doto will be coming."

Koyuki nodded, steeling herself.

This was it.

The final battle was about to begin.

The battle raged on across the frozen landscape, the sounds of clashing steel and surging chakra echoing through the snowy valley. Doto's elite soldiers, bolstered by their chakra armor, continued their relentless assault, but Konoha's shinobi and their allies refused to be overwhelmed.

Kakashi remained near Koyuki, watching the battle unfold with a sharp gaze. He knew Doto would arrive soon, and his primary objective was to ensure Koyuki's safety. Still, he couldn't ignore the battlefield entirely. His students and allies were fighting for their lives, and he had faith in them—but faith alone wasn't enough. He needed to be ready to intervene at a moment's notice.

Shino vs. Mizore

Shino's insects swarmed around Mizore, attempting to latch onto his armor and drain his chakra, but the elite warrior responded swiftly. With a flick of his wrist, he unleashed a flurry of ice senbon from a hidden launcher in his gauntlet, forcing Shino to retreat momentarily.

"The chakra armor resists my insects' drain… interesting," Shino murmured, calculating his next move.

Mizore smirked, the cold mist around him thickening. "Your tricks won't work against me." He extended his arm, creating a wave of jagged ice spikes that shot toward Shino at high speed.

With precise movements, Shino formed a hand seal. "Mushi Kabe." (Insect Wall.) His kikaichū rapidly formed a dark barrier in front of him, intercepting the attack. However, the freezing temperature caused some of the insects to slow down, and Mizore took advantage of this, lunging forward with a blade coated in chakra-infused ice.

Shino sidestepped at the last second, allowing a second wave of insects to rush Mizore from behind. This time, instead of trying to drain his chakra, they burrowed into the gaps in his armor, attempting to interfere with its mechanisms. Mizore staggered slightly as the armor's glow flickered.

"A flaw," Shino noted. "Your armor's defenses aren't absolute."

Mizore's eyes narrowed, realizing the Aburame had found a way to counter him.

Sakura vs. Fubuki

Sakura gritted her teeth as Fubuki darted around the battlefield, sending kunai infused with wind chakra toward her. Unlike Mizore, Fubuki focused on mobility, using the chakra armor to enhance her speed.

Sakura had been on the defensive for most of the fight, dodging and parrying where she could. "She's fast… but she relies on that armor too much."

As Fubuki rushed in again, Sakura feigned an opening, waiting for the right moment. Just as Fubuki extended her blade, Sakura ducked under it and drove her fist into the ground. The resulting shockwave sent cracks through the icy terrain, destabilizing Fubuki's footing.

Not missing a beat, Sakura twisted her body, launching a devastating uppercut into Fubuki's gut. The chakra armor absorbed some of the impact, but not enough to stop Sakura's raw strength from sending Fubuki flying back into a snowbank.

Coughing, Fubuki struggled to stand, but Sakura was already upon her. "You rely too much on your armor," she said, driving a final punch into Fubuki's stomach, knocking her out cold.

Naruto Sasuki vs. Several Soldiers

Meanwhile, Naruto and Sasuki were back-to-back, surrounded by multiple of Doto's remaining troops. Their chakra armor made them formidable, but Naruto's sheer unpredictability and Sasuki's refined technique made them a deadly duo.

One of the soldiers lunged at Sasuki with a massive broadsword, but she effortlessly dodged, countering with a spinning kick that sent him tumbling. Another fired off a blast of ice projectiles toward Naruto, but he quickly formed a single seal.

"Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!"

Dozens of clones appeared, rushing forward in unison, overwhelming the enemies with sheer numbers.

Sasuki leaped into the air, forming hand seals mid-spin. "Katon: Gōkakyū no Jutsu!" (Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique.)

A massive sphere of flames erupted from her mouth, melting the ice attacks and forcing the soldiers back.

Naruto grinned. "Nice one, Sasuki-chan! Now it's my turn!" He formed a Rasengan in his palm and charged forward, striking one of the soldiers head-on. Even with the chakra armor, the impact was enough to send him crashing into the snow, unconscious.

The remaining soldiers hesitated, realizing they were outmatched. Some immediately began retreating, knowing they had lost the advantage.

Kakashi's Observation

From his position, Kakashi watched with a small nod of approval. Shino had found a way around Mizore's armor, Sakura had overpowered Fubuki, and Naruto and Sasuki had dismantled the remaining forces.

Then, his gaze shifted to the horizon. The distant rumbling of machinery signaled what was to come. A dark figure stood atop a massive armored train, his presence alone sending a chill through the air.

Doto had arrived.

Kakashi exhaled, knowing the real battle was about to begin. "This is it…"

The wind howled across the frozen battlefield as the remaining warriors regrouped. Snowflakes swirled through the air, mixing with the steam from their breath as they steadied themselves for what was to come. The battlefield was still littered with fallen foes, but some of Doto's elite soldiers remained, their chakra armor flickering with residual energy.

Naruto, Sasuki, Sakura, and Shino adjusted their stances, knowing that the battle was far from over. Meanwhile, Kakashi remained near Koyuki, watching from a higher vantage point, his sharp eye scanning for weaknesses in their enemies' formations.

The low hum of an approaching train rumbled through the icy plains.

Doto was coming.

But before they could prepare for him, they had to deal with the last remnants of his men.

--

Mizore adjusted his damaged chakra armor, scowling at the kikaichū that had burrowed into its mechanisms. The insects had disrupted some of its functions, but not completely. He wouldn't fall for the same trick again.

Shino remained motionless, his insects circling him in a dense, swirling pattern, obscuring his exact movements.

"You think those bugs will stop me?" Mizore sneered, raising his hand as a massive spear of ice formed. He hurled it forward, aiming to pierce through Shino's defenses.

But Shino was already moving.

With a quick burst of chakra to his legs, he vanished from his previous spot, reappearing behind Mizore in an instant.

"Doton: Moguragakure no Jutsu." (Earth Release: Hiding Like a Mole Technique.)

He had disappeared into the earth moments before the attack struck, using the terrain to reposition himself.

Mizore turned just in time to see Shino emerging from the snow, kunai in hand. He swung, but Mizore twisted his body and barely dodged the attack.

"You're fast for someone so quiet," Mizore admitted, preparing another ice-based attack.

Shino didn't respond—he didn't need to. His true attack had already begun.

Mizore suddenly felt his body stiffen. His vision blurred, and his limbs grew sluggish.

His eyes widened. "W-What did you—?!"

"Poison."

Shino adjusted his glasses, watching Mizore's expression shift from confusion to fear.

"When my kikaichū burrowed into your armor, they weren't just disrupting your chakra flow—they also injected you with a paralyzing venom."

Mizore tried to move, but his body refused to respond properly. His chakra armor flared as he attempted to override the effects, but the poison had already spread too far.

"You lost the moment you underestimated me," Shino said, stepping forward. With a quick palm strike to Mizore's temple, he knocked the man unconscious.

--

Fubuki gasped for breath, still recovering from Sakura's earlier assault. The pink-haired kunoichi was strong—too strong—but that didn't mean she was unbeatable.

With a flick of her wrist, Fubuki triggered a hidden mechanism in her armor, releasing a cloud of thick, freezing mist around her.

A smokescreen.

Sakura tensed, immediately shifting into a defensive stance. Her breath came out in visible puffs as the temperature around her dropped.

"You rely too much on brute force," Fubuki's voice echoed from within the mist. "But strength means nothing if you can't land a hit."

A flash of silver.

Sakura barely managed to sidestep as a kunai whizzed past her face. Then another. And another.

She clenched her fists, considering her options. If she kept waiting, Fubuki would eventually wear her down.

"Fine," Sakura muttered. "Let's see how well you handle this."

She inhaled deeply and then slammed her palm onto the ground.

"Doton: Tsuchi Shibari!" (Earth Release: Earth Bind.)

The snow beneath them shifted as the ground trembled. Thick earthen tendrils shot up from the ground, tearing through the icy mist, twisting and coiling toward Fubuki.

A gasp. A misstep.

Sakura smirked. "Got you."

The tendrils wrapped around Fubuki's legs, locking her in place. The mist dissipated as Sakura charged forward.

Fubuki struggled, trying to break free, but before she could, Sakura was already in front of her.

A single, devastating punch connected with her chest.

Even with the chakra armor, the impact was enough to shatter the ice beneath them, sending Fubuki crashing into the ground, unconscious.

Sakura exhaled, rolling her shoulders. "Stealth won't save you if you're stuck in place."

--

While their allies fought their respective battles, Naruto and Sasuki found themselves surrounded once more by Doto's remaining forces.

A dozen soldiers in chakra armor. Armed, experienced, and ready to kill.

Sasuki narrowed her eyes. "They won't run away this time."

Naruto grinned. "Good. I was just getting warmed up."

The soldiers wasted no time, launching forward in unison. They moved like a well-trained unit, perfectly synchronized.

But Naruto and Sasuki weren't the same shinobi they were before.

Naruto took a deep breath. "Fūton: Shinkūgyoku!" (Wind Release: Vacuum Sphere!)

He exhaled sharply, releasing a barrage of small, high-speed air bullets. The projectiles tore through the soldiers' ranks, forcing them to scatter.

Sasuki capitalized on their momentary distraction, dashing forward with lightning-infused speed.

"Raiton: Chidori Nagashi!" (Lightning Release: Chidori Current!)

A web of electricity surged from her hands, crackling across the battlefield. The chakra armor mitigated some of the damage, but several soldiers convulsed under the intense voltage, dropping to the ground.

One of the remaining warriors attempted to attack Sasuki from behind.

But Naruto was faster.

"Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!"

Two clones grabbed the soldier's arms, locking him in place. Naruto charged in with a Rasengan, slamming it into his opponent's stomach and sending him flying.

The last two soldiers hesitated. They glanced at one another, realizing they were the only ones left.

Then they ran.

Sasuki clicked her tongue. "Tch. Cowards."

Naruto dusted off his hands. "Well, I think we made our point."

--

Kakashi's Observation

From his perch, Kakashi watched as his students systematically dismantled Doto's remaining forces. They had come a long way. Their teamwork, their tactics, their individual growth—it was all coming together.

A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

Then, the sound of metal grinding against metal echoed through the air.

The massive train had arrived, its heavy wheels rolling over the frozen tracks. Standing atop its highest point was Doto himself, his dark armor gleaming in the fading sunlight.

His presence alone cast a shadow over the battlefield.

Kakashi's smile faded.

The real fight was about to begin.

--

The battlefield had fallen into a tense silence. Snow and ice continued to drift from the sky, covering the fallen enemies and the scorched land beneath them. The battle against Doto's forces had taken a toll, but it wasn't over yet.

The distant rumbling of a massive train echoed through the air. Thick steam hissed as the massive metal behemoth came into view, its reinforced plating glinting under the pale light. Naruto, Sasuki, Sakura, and the others turned their attention to it.

Standing atop the armored train was Doto Kazahana, his imposing form clad in a heavily reinforced version of the chakra armor his subordinates wore. The crimson glow of its energy veins pulsed steadily, a testament to the immense power it contained.

His cold gaze locked onto Koyuki, standing at the rear of the group.

"It's been a long time, Princess," Doto's voice rang out, cold and sharp. "I see you've gathered quite the entourage… But it won't change anything."

Kakashi narrowed his visible eye. Doto's confidence wasn't unfounded. His armor was far superior to his subordinates', and he had an entire train full of elite shinobi ready to strike.

"We don't have time to let him make the first move," Kakashi said. "Naruto, Sasuki, Sakura—you three handle the train and its crew. I'll keep an eye on Doto and prevent him from reaching Koyuki."

"Got it!" Naruto grinned, cracking his knuckles.

Sasuki exhaled, eyes sharp. "We'll make quick work of them."

Sakura nodded. "Let's move."

Without hesitation, the three launched into action.

--

Infiltrating the Train

Using the cover of the snowstorm, Naruto created multiple shadow clones to distract the guards positioned outside. Sasuki, using her speed, dashed through the gaps in their defense, swiftly incapacitating two of them with precise kunai strikes.

Sakura, meanwhile, targeted the train itself. With a well-placed, chakra-enhanced punch, she smashed through a side panel, creating an entrance for them. The moment they stepped inside, alarms blared throughout the train.

Doto's elite forces were waiting.

Several shinobi, clad in advanced chakra armor, took defensive stances within the narrow corridors of the train. Their leader, a tall man with a scar over his left eye, smirked.

"Well, well. The Leaf brats made it inside," he said mockingly. "Bad move."

Naruto smirked. "Oh yeah? Let's see you back that up!"

The shinobi charged.

--

Naruto, Sasuki, and Sakura vs. Doto's Elite

The fight erupted into chaos.

Naruto's shadow clones swarmed the enemy, overwhelming them with sheer numbers. However, the chakra armor proved its worth—the elite shinobi dispersed his clones with well-timed counterattacks, showing their experience against such tactics.

Sasuki, using her Sharingan, moved like a blur through the narrow corridor. Her katana clashed against the armored gauntlet of an enemy, sparks flying as she twisted mid-air, delivering a powerful Chidori Nagashi (Chidori Stream) through her blade.

The electricity crackled through the armor, causing her opponent to seize up before she finished them with a precise strike to the throat.

Sakura, knowing brute force wouldn't be enough against the chakra armor, adapted. Using her medical knowledge, she targeted pressure points, landing a devastating chakra-infused palm strike to an enemy's exposed joints. The armor might have been durable, but it didn't protect against internal damage.

One by one, they tore through the train's defenses, making their way toward the control room.

--

Meanwhile: Kakashi vs. Doto (Pre-Battle Standoff)

While the younger shinobi fought inside, Kakashi stood on the battlefield, facing Doto.

The warlord's cape fluttered behind him, his chakra armor humming with energy. "You're the Copy Ninja, aren't you?" Doto said, tilting his head. "Kakashi Hatake. The man with over a thousand jutsu."

Kakashi remained silent. He had already analyzed the battlefield. Doto's armor was more advanced than his subordinates'—it likely had countermeasures against direct chakra-based attacks.

"I don't have time for games," Doto continued, his tone bored. "Hand over Koyuki, and I might let you live."

Kakashi's response was immediate. A single hand seal.

A Lightning Clone appeared beside him.

Doto raised an eyebrow. "Tch. A weak trick."

Kakashi's clone surged forward at blinding speed, forcing Doto to react. He raised his arm, activating the barrier function of his armor—only to realize too late that the clone was merely a distraction.

The real Kakashi had already vanished from sight.

--

Inside the Train – The Control Room

Naruto, Sasuki, and Sakura finally reached the train's control chamber, where the conductor and several more shinobi were waiting.

Naruto grinned. "Alright! Let's wreck this thing!"

Sasuki frowned. "Destroying it recklessly could be dangerous. We need to take control first."

Sakura nodded. "Then let's clear the room."

The final battle for the train had begun.

--

The Truth Behind the Hexagonal Crystal

As Naruto, Sasuki, and Sakura continued battling inside the train, outside, Kakashi stood firm, ensuring that Doto didn't reach Koyuki.

Koyuki, trembling slightly, held the Hexagonal Crystal tightly in her hands. It was more than just a piece of jewelry—it was the key to her father's secret treasure, a mechanism that could change the Land of Snow forever.

Doto's gaze flickered to the crystal before settling back on Kakashi.

"So, you do know what she carries," he mused. "Step aside, Hatake. You can't possibly care about the fate of this pathetic land."

Kakashi remained unmoving, his Sharingan spinning slowly.

"That 'pathetic land' is her home," Kakashi replied. "And as long as she wants to fight for it, I'll stand in your way."

Doto scoffed. "Then I'll just have to go through you."

Kakashi vs. Doto – A Tactical Battle

Doto launched forward, activating the energy reserves in his armor. A red glow surrounded him, enhancing his speed as he closed the gap between them. His gauntlet extended, crackling with chakra energy, aiming directly for Kakashi's chest.

But Kakashi vanished.

Shunshin.

In an instant, he reappeared behind Doto, kunai in hand, aiming for his throat. But before he could land the strike, a barrier flared around Doto's armor, repelling him violently.

Kakashi flipped midair, landing lightly on the snow.

'His armor automatically deflects lethal strikes… Interesting.'

Doto smirked. "You'll have to do better than that, Copy Ninja."

Kakashi wasn't concerned. He had already analyzed the weakness.

'It only reacts to physical threats that could kill him. Meaning…'

He subtly shifted his stance. A plan was forming.

Meanwhile – The Train Battle

Inside the train, the battle raged on.

Naruto, Sasuki, and Sakura had cleared out most of the enemy shinobi, but the control room remained heavily guarded.

One of Doto's men, a large brute wielding a massive steel hammer, stepped forward. "You brats have caused enough trouble."

Sasuki smirked. "And you talk too much."

Lightning flickered around her fingers.

Chidori Sharp Spear.

Before the man could react, Sasuki extended a thin, piercing blade of lightning from her hand, piercing directly through his armor's weak points. The brute fell, convulsing as electricity surged through him.

Sakura, using her enhanced strength, ripped a control panel off the wall and slammed it into another enemy, sending them crashing into the train's machinery.

Naruto formed a Rasengan, shattering another enemy's armor and knocking them unconscious.

The way forward was clear.

Now, they had to stop the train.

Kakashi's Counterattack

Back outside, Doto charged again.

This time, Kakashi allowed him to get close.

Just as Doto swung, Kakashi sidestepped at the last second, grazing the armor with his palm.

"Fūinjutsu: Chakra Disruption Seal."

A faint glow pulsed where Kakashi touched him.

Doto's eyes widened. "What—?"

Suddenly, his armor flickered—the protective barrier around him stuttered.

Kakashi smirked. 'Now you're vulnerable.'

In a blur of motion, he formed a single seal.

"Raiton: Shiden!"

A bolt of violet lightning erupted from Kakashi's hand, tearing through Doto's armor.

Doto staggered backward, smoke rising from his damaged chest plate.

"You… bastard…"

Kakashi readied another attack—but stopped.

Doto's men were retreating.

Naruto, Sasuki, and Sakura had taken control of the train and were now redirecting its course. Doto's forces, seeing the tide turn against them, began pulling back.

Doto growled. "Tch… This isn't over."

With one last glare at Kakashi, he retreated into the train's final carriage, sealing the door behind him.

Kakashi exhaled, watching him go. He had no doubt that the final confrontation was coming.

But for now, they had won this battle.

Koyuki was more than just a damsel—she's coming to terms with her past and preparing to stand up for her country.

Doto's elite forces retreated, meaning the final battle is approaching.

The train battle was won, but Doto escaped, setting up the confrontation at the treasure site.
