Chapter Five:

Steve jogged down the street, his mind dwelling on the Avenger's current issue that they had to deal with. Bringing the elusive Spiderman in for questioning. Steve dodged a construction worker, a frown creasing his features. He still agreed with the others that Spiderman's helpfulness with various villains made it so arresting him was mentally difficult for them. After all, since they received their orders, he had helped Hank with the Serpentine Society, Clint with a rather elusive Hydra goon, and Tony with the Wrecking Crew. Steve paused next to an alleyway, glancing around the busy street he had chosen to go jogging on. Everything seemed so... peaceful despite the construction being done.

Another jogger bumped into him, making him take a step back from the man. "Sorry." Steve shoved his hands into his pocket...only to realize that his wallet was no longer in there. "Hey! Thief!" Steve took off at a run, sprinting after the man, who was now picking up speed to get away from him.

They had only whipped around two street corners before a string of webbing suddenly snagged the thief from behind, yanking him up to the lamppost. Steve skidded to a halt as his wallet fell out of his pocket. "I'll take that!" He glanced above the lamppost to see Spiderman crouching on top of it.

"Any way I can have your autograph? Kinda a big fan of yours." Spiderman rubbed the back of his neck as he jumped down next to him.

Steve shrugged, somehow forgetting that he was wearing his civilian clothing and majority of the world couldn't recognize outside of the mask. "Sure thing. Do you have something for me to sign?"

Spiderman snapped his fingers, disappointment edging his voice. "Shoot. Knew I was forgetting something."

Steve shook his head at that, before offering him his hand. "Well, about a handshake from one hero to another?"

"Awesome! Wait till I tell Aranha that I shook your hand. She's going to be so jealous!" Spiderman shook his hand eagerly, before webbing away.

"Hey! Steve! You got after me for not arresting Spidey, that means I can totally call you out for not arresting him!" Tony suddenly appeared next to Steve in his armor, amusement dancing in his eyes as he smirked at the war veteran.

Steve groaned, lifting his wallet up for his teammate to see. "He literally just saved me from getting mugged..." Tony busted out laughing at that. Steve ignored him as he continued speaking. "We can give him a break this once." Steve marched over to the nearest churro stand, opening his wallet to pull out the dollar bills that he needed to get the treat. Freezing, Steve stared at the contents of his wallet in shock, before whirling around to face the ego logistical billionaire. "He robbed me!"

Tony simply fell over with laughter.

Peter pressed his back against the rough brick wall, his heart bounding loudly in his chest. Truthfully, it was a spur of the moment thing. When he shook hands with the old war hero, it had been surprisingly easy to slip his fingers into the wallet, pulling out several dollar bills of various amounts. By his estimation, he now had close to two hundred dollars in his hand made up entirely of ones, fives, tens, and twenties. As well as a singular one hundred dollar bill. Shaking his head at his fortune, he shoved the stolen bills deep into his pockets. Grabbing his backpack, he headed straight for school, vaguely wondering how he was supposed to be able to concentrate when he was worried that Captain America was going to burst in at any time to arrest him.

Slipping into class, he chose a seat near a window, figuring that he could use it to escape if the Avenger did so up demanding that he return his stolen money. Anya whipped around to look at him, a huge grin crossing her features. Peter glanced over at Max, only to realize that he was talking to a couple of students. Great... he wasn't getting any help in that department.

"So, how have you been?" Anya leaned over the back of her chair, over the top of his desk.

Peter gave her a look, frustration slipping in. It wasn't like he had been with her most of yesterday anyways. Miles must have felt the same way he did, since he groaned as he placed his head down on his own desk. "Seriously Anya? We literally spent all day with him yesterday! He's fine."

Peter flicked his finger towards him, nodding in agreement. Anya pouted at that, but was interrupted by Max calling the class to attention as the bell rang to start class. Peter pulled out his science notebook, ready to take notes and hopefully forget about the whole he robbed THE Captain America.

"Let me get this straight... when the two days since I gave you the orders... you have ran into him four times and you let him get away each time!?" Fury pinched the bridge of his nose as he stared at the Avengers.

Tony gleefully looked up from his Starkpad, a smirk crossing his features. "Let's not forget that he mugged Capiscle here."

Steve glared at him, the muscles in his jaw twitching. "For the last time Tony, I did not actually see him take my money!"

Tony sniggered, "He still took it."

Steve growled, moving to possibly punch him in the face. A nervous Hank hurriedly stepped between the two. "Enough. It could have happened to any of us. We all have been way too lax around him, its about time we took this more seriously."

"Hulk no bring in Smash Buddy." Hulk suddenly growled out, stomping his foot for emphasize.

The rest of the Avengers and Fury turned to give the Gamma Monster a weird look, not understanding what he was talking about. "Very well. Thor, think you can bring him in without any problems?"

"Aye. I will try my best." Thor nodded gravely, his grip on (his magic hammer that I forgot how to spell and am too lazy to look up the spelling of) tightening exponentially.

"Good. We need to catch him." Fury nodded in relief.

Steve straightened suddenly, his eyes narrowing at the one-eyed pirate, I mean Shield director. "He mentioned a name. Aranha. I've never heard a name like it before. Can Shield find anything about his person on their database?"

"I'll get Coulson and Hill on it."
